Quick Hits: 64% of the Public Doubts Kamala "Veep Throat" Harris' Preparedness to Assume the Presidency from the Dying-Brained Biden

sneakerface.jpg
by @Chimpbreath

Kamala Harris not up to the job of the presidency, a large majority of the public says.

new poll from Convention of States Action shows nearly 60% of those surveyed are not confident about Vice President Kamala Harris becoming president.

The poll, in partnership with the Trafalgar Group, shows 58.6% of the electorate is "not confident at all" that Harris is ready to be president. Five percent said they were "not very confident."

The flagging numbers for the vice president cross partisan lines, as 42.6% of Democrat voters say they are not very confident or not confident at all that Harris is ready to become the county's next commander in chief.

On the plus side, 56% of the public agreed that Veep Throat was "well-prepared" to "juggle male DNA with her jacked uvula."

Antifa is again attacking protesters protesting the Wi Spa's pedophile-friendly policies, but this time, some cops take an interest.

16 Althouse linked to an article about how the polling for 2020 was absolutely horrible. My theory for a while has been that the Dems believed the polling showing a blue wave, and when it didn't materialize they were stuck. Expanding their control of the House and gaining outright control of the Senate would have allowed Pelosi and Schumer to exercise greater influence over policy. Instead, with the margins so tight, the Dems are reliant on the executive branch much more. Unfortunately, they're also realizing to their horror that Harris is not controllable. She's an arrogant idiot who abuses staffer and won't listen to advice, and if put into the Oval Office she'll end up stumbling her way into disaster.

25 Inflation is not your friend.

The power that be seem to forget what inflation does to servicing the national debt. We have had year of nearly 0% interest on the national debt. Now make that 2%, 3% 4% or more and what where all the tax revenue goes.

Likewise, take Social Security. Social Security's Trustees projected that reserves in the retirement trust fund would be depleted in 2034. Increase inflation will cause the CPI to go up resulting in higher payments to Social Security recipients, thus the trust fund empties sooner.

The problem is that deflation is seen as much worse. The fear is that once you start seeing deflation, it's too late to stop it from cascading through the economy, hurting borrowers and causing secondary and tertiary effects.

The country's a dumpster fire - that is, it's populace (mostly) is.

The Harris sexual innuendo stuff has been painfully boring since before most here had even heard of her.

She's an idiot. That's the point. And those around her, and those hired down the chain - all equally unfit to be any position of responsibility in what America *was*, at least.

The left is always coming up with nonsensical phrases for common rational behavior: Irrational Exuberance, Racial Contextual Defiance, Online Radical Rightwing Imprinting, Patriotic Presupposition Postulation, etc etc

There's a couple other things but I forget. But never fear they're talking about screwing with the way the number is figured. When the one in our town opened up - they had quite the schtick, and stuck to it for about a year. They'd announce when people entered, and how many. Then, they'd shout 1 patty, 2 patties, whatever. The fries never got started until the burger was getting assembled. The joint was always jumping. Then, they just sort of gave it all up, and couldn't have been less excited. I'm not even sure I've been there since the lockdowns started last year. I was never a big fan. A regular burger is too big for me, so I always got the small burger (1 patty) and I can't eat 5 lbs of potatoes in a small order. You've really got to eat the stuff there, otherwise the spuds congeal and the burger steams in the foil wrapper, making the bun sort of a pasty doughy yuck. Not sure it could change much from there, but who knows. I'd assume they're all different depending on management. If I go again, I'll have to get a shake or water, because I'm not ever buying a coke anything again.

All of this is because the people in charge WANT you to know that they can do it, and they can do it very obviously and with the worst of the worst just to rub your nose in it. It's part of the kink.

I'm assuming they all post the farm that the potatoes were grown? I think the fries are good for that type of fry, it's a real potato person's fry. Better than In N Out's Kennebec's, which I've never really warmed up to either. The best fries for the places around me are Mooyah, and especially Habit Burger, which has really good fries and the best burgers of all the chains in CA I've tried. Funny enough, there's a place called Mr. Falafel in my town, they have ok gyros, falafels and shawarmas, but their burgers are great and the fries are amazing. I don't know what they do to the fries, but they're incredibly crispy, creamy inside and fantastic seasoning. So good I've never tried their onion rings, which people swear by. Now I'm hungry again.

Burger restaurants are something I don't get really. You can do much better, much cheaper at your house. And they're super-easy to make... you can do it faster than driving to the place, ordering, and coming back. I've always seen them as something just for when you're on the road, and really can't make your own.

Depends. Do you have everything prepped and portioned? Got a bun toaster? Melted butter? Hamburger thawed and in patties? You ok with doing the dishes and cleanup afterwards?

Or do you want to save 15 minutes or more and just spend $5 and get a burger?

Spending money to save time is good unless you have more time than money.

339 I think Craig Claiborne, the NYT food critic, used to occasionally review MacDonald's. It was great. He raved about it, and said "you know why the company's so big and the people come here - because it tastes great" - something like that. I didn't read him all the time, but I do recall him having that sort of "stuff it, pretentious foodie fabois of mine" moment - unless it was another high-end food critic.

I remember back in the 70's Jack in the Box almost killed me. Twice. But, they were the only place open at 1am. Think once was their weird AF fried tacos, and the other time was a burger. They used to have the weirdest damned burgers, like mustard, onions (rehydrated I believe) and not sweet relish. I can feel 1975 reaching out to me.

Wendy's used to have this weird schtick in the 70's that they were the fastest fast food what ever was. They'd be shouting the order as you placed it, and as a stoned 18 year old that freaked me right out. Cheese "CHEESE!" No wait, no ch.. "NO CHEESE!" and tom... "TOMATOES!" Ma... "MAYONNAISE!" Agh! Get out of my head! Of course, they would play shit like flight of the bumblebee or the theme to the green hornet just to drive the point home.

351 There is a time when you and your dog sign the deal.

Today, at 4:17 EST, Zod and Canis Zod Jr. did so.

I was a little drunk; he wanted a walk. I read Irish literature in college; we bought him from a northern Irish breeder in Oxford, MS (dropped out of college-read Faulkner, Oxford lit fixture-modernism-Joyce-oxford-dog) I was listening to "Rocky Road To Dublin," Kings of Connaught. Whiskey, a dog, a leash, southern literature, Irish literature, a one-year-old boy dog, a hot afternoon...
"Walk?"
(Canis) "Aye."
Now there's a baby-pool in the backyard full of water, he's soaking wet, Zod Imperial, now Mrs. and Canis Sr just joined the party. Water, dogs, pools, yadayada.

If you needed a smile, you should be here.

We danced in the driveway. He's a better dancer.

And yes, the food in France sucks, it sucks balls. It is terrible. There are too many restaurants, they all serve the exact same food and it is all horrid. There will be 4 cafes at an intersection, one on each corner, all with the same menu. They don't have enough good cooks in the in the country to support all of these restaurants. The best food you can find in Paris is at the American chains.

Sometimes the butchers run out of crappy beef to grind, so they'll use really decent chuck and leftover prime. Flavor up the wazoo. So it's probably nothing to do with what you do or don't remember. In the past couple of years my local market has gone from "ground chuck" to "ground beef". But, at least they don't load it with water like my local Safeway does.

Oh, and there's nothing wrong with MSG. Keep some on hand, use sparingly. Can make a big difference.

Lots of parents started home schooling because of the covid lockdown and the teachers greed. Watch how that will start cooking up as the enrollment rates are down and teachers start getting laid off. The Union'll be right there with new rules for Home School and maybe even try to eliminate it. They've crippled the charter schools and they'll go after HS if they make inroads on their numbers.

I hope to see more HS and that any push from the Teachers Union gets swatted down.

We've got a McD's, a Five Guys and an In N Out on 3 corners of an intersection here. I pass them all and go to the taqueria. Cheaper, tastier, more variety. Strangely, all the Gen Z's go to the Chipotle across the street. Having a burrito the size of a newborn seems to be a big selling point. Even if it feels like you're shitting a full grown man in full football gear an hour later.

That beef tallow in the 80's was when McDonalds fries were the best thing on Earth.

But I do have a tendency to remember things with rose colored glasses, so who knows.

I'm just amazed at how stupid corporations can be, they stopped using beef tallow to placate vegetarians that wouldn't step foot in a McDonalds?

446 They've known from the start that their "vaccine" wasn't very effective and that clotting was a problem. But they went ahead anyway cause of all the money invested.

That's why Fakey was confused about whether to mask or not and now they're saying the "vaccinated" getting infected is because it's Delta or something.

Some researchers are questioning whether the "vaccine" doesn't actually make someone more likely to get it and to spread it around. There's very little science in evidence that last few months.

First off, local public schools have NO BUSINESS spending dollars on advertising.
Secondly, I betcha that home schooling and private schools are eating into this fall's enrollment.Which means less dollars to the district.

I understand there are different styles. We had a place at college that made burritos like pillows. This was long before Chipotle was thing and the burritos were way better

But to me burrito is a word that means something. It is supposed to be small. The idea of throwing in rice would be absurd to a Mexican or Texan on the border. A burrito is a snack, made of beef or beans and cheese. Now most of the Millennials go for a burrito bowl, whatever that is.
