The Morning Report - 6/21/21

shockedrace.jpg

Good morning kids. Start of a new week and summer. Crime waves, race riots, political riots, anti-Semitism, government persecution of political opponents, mass PTSD inflicted by said government via the ginning up of fear over a Chinese-originated virus as a means to subvert the Constitution, mass-indoctrination everywhere in Crackpot Disg-Race Theory, and on and on. Yup, "hot fun in the summertime!" here in the land of the freebie and the home of the enslaved, just in time for us to celebrate July 4th, Independence Day. That is if we will be allowed to celebrate it instead of say "Gay Pride," "Juneteenth" and "Indigenous Peoples' Day."

A New Jersey Board of Education in Randolph, N.J. removed Columbus Day from their school's calendar and replaced it with "Indigenous Peoples Day." They did so to be inclusive, and without publicizing that this change was being contemplated. Two minutes were given to the matter.

When word got out, a furor ensued among the community, including Italian-Americans and members of the Knights of Columbus. Many spoke is protest at the next BoE meeting. Here is one such protest:

"It's been 529 years since Columbus found a new world. Now, you want to remove his memory, but are not exactly clear why. You reported acting because other places have done so. Really? What is clear is that in the half a millennia that since passed, we've lost much of what he did, what he looked like, or even where he's buried.

We all know that the squeaky wheel gets the grease. Social Media has given a huge megaphone to those who previously stood on soap boxes. They find others and together demand cancellation of whatever. Surrender incites the mob to ever more extreme demands. I speak today because someday, they will come for me. . .

. . .Replacing Columbus to celebrate the Indigenous might be seen as Red skin being preferred to the 'almost black' skin of Mediterranean Peoples like Spanish and Italian. My many Italian friends have told me it insults all of them. They feel Columbus and his explorations exemplify their rich history, as Saint Patrick does for the Irish. Lowering the Italians will not raise the indigenous.

An Italian declared crossing the Rubicon important. The Randolph Board of Education should consider whether removing Columbus reflects: scholarship, a lessening of knowledge, or a Politically Correct bashing of America and its idols out of fear. I do hope you reverse your decision. Thank you."

Here's the next part of the story. Immediately after the last speaker sat down, the Board of Education considered what they had heard from the community. They thought the feedback valuable. It then voted to remove all mention of any holiday, replacing all with "Day Off." Christmas, Martin Luther King, Memorial Day... all will be known as "Day Off."

The members of the audience were stunned. The audio of the meeting has members shouting, "What is happening?" What did you just do?"

News of this decision exploded, locally and nationally, reaching even England and India.

A special meeting of the Randolph, NJ Board of Education has been called. It is anticipated that even more of the community will attend.

As I have been saying over the past few weeks, there is a palpable sense of disgust as well as anger at what is being done to us. Look at the official reaction from the Democrat-Propaganda Complex at our vocal disgust with this Crackpot Disg-Race Theory. You take the most flak when you're directly over the target and when none other than vermin like Bro-Fo Omar/Nur/Burqawitz/Ikeeelyou are claiming:

"Republicans love to create outrage over things that aren't actually happening. People should be asking them, what elementary, middle and high school is teaching Critical Race Theory and why they are spinning false narratives."

You know that someone just turned on a floodlight in the kitchen and the cockroaches are scattering like flushed quail. So, it's all a Republican conspiracy theory eh? Pray tell, what the hell is going on in this Rhode Island school?

A group of Rhode Island teachers in favor of implementing critical race theory in their schools offered extra credit to their students who agreed to testify on an anti-critical race theory state bill.

Documents obtained by Parents Defending Education show that at least two educators across different departments at Barrington High School in Barrington, Rhode Island offered five extra points to students to be used on their next exams if they chose to verbally testify or offer a written comment on the legislation. E-mails also show the educators praised students who chose to submit testimony.

"C'mon, J.J.," I can hear Proud Momzer typing from his Soros crib sheet. "That's just a one-off, if it's even a real story and not a figment of Reich-wing media!" Well, maybe he's right. It's a one-off in one school. Just like it's a one-off in just one US Navy:

As he assumed the office of Chief of Naval Operations, Admiral Michael Gilday announced that he wanted to change the Navy. While the title of his remarks in the video you see here below was: "One Team, One Navy," its actual message was racist and divisive. His bottom line: only "conversations" about race would help. The "conversations" he referred to were in fact a lecture from America's most popular and fact-challenged racist du jour, Ibram X. Kendi.

The "conversation" included "shared" videos of naval personnel claiming that America was racist and that they were angry. "Being African-American in America is not fun," an aviation technician claimed, especially no doubt for a two-term African-American president who pocketed $100 million for the skillful exploitation of his public office.

There was no word on whether being African in Somalia, Sudan, and Nigeria is any more "fun" than being black in America or whether being a Somalian hater of Jews and America might put you on the House Foreign Affairs Committee and get you protected by Speaker Nancy Pelosi and the leadership of the Democrat Party.

In keeping with Gilday's efforts to divide the Navy by race, an official Navy video endorsed the Marxist organization Black Lives Matter and denounced police for the death of drug-dealer-accomplice Breonna Taylor, who was shot resisting arrest when her boyfriend triggered a hailstorm of bullets after shooting and wounding a police officer doing his job. Bottom line of the video: naval recruits and officers need to hate their "white supremacist" country and question their service. . .

. . .If Gilday weren't weak, he wouldn't be occupying his current position over the heads of more qualified admirals. And if those admirals had shown a willingness to stand up to the purgers, then the entire Navy wouldn't be subjected to woke witch-hunts and what the Chinese Communists refer to as "struggle sessions."

Even before the Navy confronts Communist China or Jihadist Iran, it's under attack from their anti-American leftist allies in this country. The enemy is inside the military and waging psychological war on its own country.

Gilday, like the rest of the woke military leaders, is a pathetic figure who has dispensed with his oath of allegiance and has sworn a woke oath to anti-white race theory. He has pledged his service to racist ideas, like those of Ibram X. Kendi, who will forever despise him on account of his skin color.

And as a reward for his treason, he hopes to be left alone long enough to retire as a lobbyist.

On a not entirely unrelated note, I feel bad for the poor Leftists this morning. The joyous occasion of a white man plowing into a group of Gay Pride celebrants in Fort Lauderdale turned tragic when it was revealed that not only was it an accident but that the driver was evidently a fellow celebrant. I cannot imagine the grief at not being able to proclaim this an act of white supremacist terrorism. The horror. It's cold comfort that the media will claim that even though it was an accident, white supremacists everywhere were cheering, passing out candy and ululating, and that, after all, is the real story from this incident. As a way to lift their spirits, be sure to torch a synagogue or church and sucker punch a few Hassidim and elderly Asian people who dare show themselves in public as your expression of peace, love, understanding and tolerance that is the hallmark of Leftists.

NOTE: The opinions expressed in some links may or may not reflect my own. I include them because of their relevance to the discussion of a particular issue.

9 I'm going to repeat my admonishment from the Tech Thread because I CARE:

Folks, slow down when driving in the rain. I took a trip Saturday to South Georgia and people were going 80mph plus in the heavy rain. I saw multiple accidents probably caused by hydroplaning, and 9 kids were killed in one accident in Alabama caused by hydroplaning.

Modern SUVs make people think they are invincible but all the traction and stability control in the world won't help you when you are spinning backwards off the road because you were a dumbass in the rain.

Speaks volumes about how impotent the GOP is.

46 I have a copy of a speech that my Italian-born great-grandfather, a noted attorney, used to give before his local Cristoforo Colombo Society each year.

Columbus Day was about the new Italian-Americans seeing themselves as new Columbuses, crossing the Atlantic to the New World, and it was about pride in joining the great American Melting Pot. Lots of exhortations to learn English and American ways ASAP.

Nobody "thought Columbus discovered America." All the hurr-hurr-ing over the Italians "thinking Columbus discovered America instead of discovering the Dominican Republic" and Amerigo Vespucci and Natives already being here and yadda yadda yadda is a bunch of caca di boca.

50 That Randolph Board of Miseducation was, consciously or not, both playing out the means and fulfilling the ends of the cultural eradicators. Acting imperiously and without feedback (because they can, and because this is an objective in itself), they eradicated a tradition. Then, facing the response, they in turn acted imperiously and without feedback to further eradicate. The ultimate end is not only to reaffirm their power to act, but to zero out of all history, tradition and symbolism connecting people to something other than the eradicators' own power.

But the billboard struck me as if we're celebrating something that just happened. 63 . . .Replacing Columbus to celebrate the Indigenous might be seen as Red skin being preferred to the 'almost black' skin of Mediterranean Peoples like Spanish and Italian. ...

++++
This is why the strategy of "outdo their insanity to demonstrate the point" is a losing gambit. This person did exactly that, and what was the response? No holidays at all - just the weird, reductive "day off" pablum that destroys everything else in the name of not retreating in a single area.

The mentality behind the strategy comes from honesty and honor. The Left has no honor and they actually *hate* honesty. The absurdist approach will not and cannot work against them, because they have no standards and no motivation other than "further, faster, at all costs, on any premise."

70 "they do very little with their time in power"

This is how I remember it:

"We don't have the votes, we need your help to gain control of the House"
-ok, whew that was rough, but here's the House
"Thanks but Senate will just veto whatever we do, we need a majority there too"
-ok, here's your Senate Majority.
"President will just use Executive Orders to circumvent -"
-say no more, here's the Presidency too.
"And a few Supreme Court seats..."
-sure why not. Now will you get that passed for us?
"What? And risk our majority? Are you nuts?"

74 57 Odd as in here comes this date, plucked out of obscurity from an ancient TX point in history,

Lady, there was a pretty fascinating thread here the other day about Juneteenth. I grew up far from Texas and I've known about Juneteenth since as far back as I can remember. Never had any idea at all about the TX origins until last week, hearing it here at AoS. Other folks never heard of it at all. Turns out some cities have celebrated it for many years and others have not.

I grew up in WNY, and Buffalo has had Juneteenth for nearly half a century (we used to go when I was a kid - it was fun. I know I wouldn't be welcomed and it might be dangerous now.)

Yet folks from Chicago and Detroit, also with large black populations, never heard of it. Juneteenth's obscurity seems to be geographical. It's not totally made up BS like "Kwaanza" is, though.

Sorry, Mr. Michaels, but it can't be done. The ship has sailed. The damage is done, and it is irreversible. It's like a building that has been flooded. If you start pumping right away, and strip it back to the studs and joists and reconstruct, you can save the building. You can restore it and even improve it from its original condition in the process.

If you let it fester under water for a year, though, that option disappears. You can drain it and strip it, but then you find that the bones of the building - from the cracking concrete to the rusted and moldy beams and loose screws - are hopelessly corrupted. The building is unsalvageable. No amount of work or money will ever make it habitable again. There are in fact only two options: abandon the site entirely, or demolish the entire structure, reclaim the site and build anew.

The building that is the FBI has been sitting in stagnant, putrid floodwaters not for a year, but for generations.

Yeah, Chesterton's Fence is in play to be sure. That said - and as much as I agree with the premise that we oughtn't tear down institutions willy-nilly - many of them need to go. At least a third of the federal institutions are probably in this camp, along with probably 75% or more of the universities and half or better of the major corps. Major corps are fixable if - and only if - we fix the government. They have a profit motive and that will resurrect if we stop helping them with state power.

The problem is so big and so deep and so old that I suspect it might actually be to the point where the system itself cannot be saved, whatever elements of it might be individually salvageable.

Absolutely. The analogy is for when you discover a structure but don't know why it was put there. It recommends a light touch and wait-and-see so you can try to discern the original reason, and see if it still applies.

In the case of institutions like the FBI, however, we know why they exist. We also know what they do. A border wall to keep out alien invaders is good. A border wall to keep your own slaves from escaping is bad. If it starts as a border wall but becomes a prison wall, it still needs to be torn down.

Heard a story over the weekend where to teenagers took their brand new jet ski's out on the lake after the big BassMasters tournament was over and the lake opened back up. They tooled around part of the day and returned to the marina for fuel.

They went to the pumps and started filling. When they felt things were full, they were confused as to why the gauge still said 'E.'

The manager came over to assist and noticed they had filled the ENGINE COMPARTMENT with fuel, not the gas tank. They had to shut the docks down until they could secure the vehicle and empty all the fuel and contain it properly.

Of succession, yes. I don't know how the split Senate behaves upon elevation of the VP, though. But the question is likely irrelevant because whoever Harris appoints to be her new VP will get a filibuster-proof majority. If Garland could rack up 70 votes, anyone Harris selects is fine.

Posted by: Joe Mannix (Not a cop!) at June 21, 2021 07:40 AM (Jsjd7)

228 In a sweeping, general sort of way, church doctrines are more like parenting than governing.

Laws and regulations and such are there (ostensibly, at least) to make everyone have a fair playing field, and to make society as a whole work better. Nobody ought to give a damn if a specific law makes a specific individual life better. It's about reducing fraud and foul-play.

Doctrines are there specifically to make your life better. Thou shalt not X, Y or Z, because your life is gonna suck if you do. Maybe not right away.... but it will eventually bite you on the keister.

Maybe i'm wrong. It's just a thought.

I haven't used Google search for anything but technical topics (they are sadly still the hands-down winner for technical topics), so this is odd to me. What do those badges mean? Are those things that Google declares to be "legitimate" or "honest" sources? If so, that is a silly signal that will just tell you where to go for enemy content analysis...

The article mentions everything except the fact that Northam was a Democrat - the writer does everything to imply he was, in fact, a Republican.

This is what happens when everyone concurs on a point for too long. It becomes "law" and if someone opposes it, then the boosters for the notion say, "but the math proves that..."

Nonsense. The shortening days happen only because we expect them to happen according to the rigorous and inflexible laws of math and physics. As we have learned over the past thirty years, however, things that laymen consider to be physical, objective truth are shot through with various forms of supremacy. "This is the math, it is right, you are wrong and it is immutable" is an attitude made possible only from a position of supremacist colonialism. Once you break the chains of your past and realize that what you *think* is objective is merely the subjective projection of a social construction, you will learn that this phenomenon is no more real than your favorite movie.

Don't rest on your laurels. The moment enough people agree that this is no longer true - and thus build a new construction - you will find your supremacism irrelevant.

One thing that bugs me about Black Panther...

Africa has roughly 4 million slaves today, and Wakanda's efforts to become more involved with the outside world focus on...community centers in Oakland? It's almost like a movie set in Africa was written by someone who had never been there and kind of just admired it from afar.

Black Panther is the "Oh Danny Boy" of African superhero movies.

372 Slavery is slavery,

Not really. Chattel slavery is where an owner can buy and sell his possession, and the law supports it and to some extent help reclaim lost property.

If you are saying that the Democratic authorities assisted in the sales and guaranteed that the slaves were still under the control and authority of the owner, then you would have an argument.

(though one might say that one owner of debt selling the debt to a collection agency and the law acknowledging this transaction.... I need to think about this)

I have Windy on my phone. the radar is decent. and the forecasting is pretty solid, especially for significant events. gives the option of GFS, ECMF, NAM 5K (3 day short term), and a new 5 day one - ICON for the models you want.

385 I stopped looking at NOAA when every headline was global warming bullshit and how every storm was going to kill me.

The one you should truly hold contempt and hatred for is the NWS. They were the ones that said that February 2021 in Texas would be mild and ideal temperatures such that many thermal generators could safely go into maintenance.

Furthermore, and I may be wrong on this, but meteorologists, to maintain certification, must have a fairly good track record of weather forecasting, with the exception of parroting the NWS. That is, if you were to report snow and the NWS reported snow and it was warm and dry, no hickey against your rating because the NWS was also wrong. But if you report snow and NWS reports warm and dry, you are dinged. If you report warm and dry and NWS reports snow, no hickey against you or against the NWS - since they are always considered correct.

Many weather forecasters now show multiple models that are generally cover every possible future condition and say that it could be any one of these but they favor this one more.

394 Yet folks from Chicago and Detroit, also with large black populations, never heard of it. Juneteenth's obscurity seems to be geographical. It's not totally made up BS like "Kwaanza" is, though.
___________

Some of them have heard of it.

Remember before Obama was president, he ran (courtesy of his terrorist buddy Billy Ayers) the Chicago Annenberg Challenge. The "challenge" part of it was to try and improve Chicago's hopelessly failing public schools. Walter Annenberg had given millions in grants to try to accomplish this. Obama was in charge of deciding which schools and programs received grants from the $100 million education fund, and for what purposes.

One of the things that Obama authorized spending money on was Juneteenth celebrations in Chicago public schools. Obama turned down requests for things like setting up remedial math clinics so that the way-behind-grade-level blacks could catch up to their peers in math skills. But spending lots of education grant money for parties to celebrate a TX holiday? Absolutely!

But like most of what was "taught" in Chicago public schools, the kids there have probably long since forgotten it.

395 "Have you been to Africa?"

Operation Restore Hope (Somalia) was a shock to our African-American Marines. Imagine taking your wingman back home to your native country, and everyone is still living in mud huts, trying to remember to eat with the right hand and wipe with the left. Humiliating.

The rest of us pretended not to notice. Still similar to America though - seven gangs killing each other over dirt (territory) while their people languished in poverty and starvation.

Remember, we were sent in to keep the "warlords" from ripping of UN food and medicine intended to save their own people.

The more things change...

397 The latest lie being used to promote CRT is that it's simply about teaching the facts of slavery and the civil rights movement. Of course you don't need to apply a "theory" in order to teach basic historic facts, and of course there doesn't exist an American history text book that doesn't already cover these topics. But pretending this is what CRT is makes it seem awfully benign, and makes the opposition look like idiots.

399 What a country we live in. I'm a white supremist, even though my skin is brown, all because I believe in the words of the Constitution and I believe the election was stolen. I'm a worse threat to this country, according to the left, than Osama Bin Laden was, or the Japanese during Pearl Harbor.

The truth be told, THEY are the biggest threat this country has ever seen, and their scapegoating will slide us almost inexorably towards the historical models set by countries that took a similar path. AND THEY WANT IT. THEY WANT THE VIOLENCE THEY PROVOKE AS AN EXCUSE FOR WAR AGAINST US.

400 Victor Davis Hanson: "The Democrat Party won the long march through
journalism, but this Pyrrhic victory has meant the destruction of every
principle of journalistic integrity liberals ever claimed to champion."
That's not what Davis said. If you follow the link, you'll find that he said "The Democratic Party won the long march . . . "
Calling the ruling party the "Democrat party" is a childish habit that many Republicans have--and one that VDH is unlikely to follow, because to the best of my knowledge he still is a Democrat himself (however much he may despise the leaders of his party).
