US Now Has High Confidence That Chinese Virus Escaped from a Wuhan Laboratory

Imagine Trump blaming China!

EXCLUSIVE: There is increasing confidence that the COVID-19 outbreak likely originated in a Wuhan laboratory, though not as a bioweapon but as part of China's attempt to demonstrate that its efforts to identify and combat viruses are equal to or greater than the capabilities of the United States, multiple sources who have been briefed on the details of early actions by China's government and seen relevant materials tell Fox News.

This may be the "costliest government cover-up of all time," one of the sources said.

The sources believe the initial transmission of the virus – a naturally occurring strain that was being studied there – was bat-to-human and that "patient zero" worked at the laboratory, then went into the population in Wuhan.

The “increasing confidence” comes from classified and open-source documents and evidence, the sources said. Fox News has requested to see the evidence directly. Sources emphasized -- as is often the case with intelligence -- that it's not definitive and should not be characterized as such. Some inside the administration and the intelligence and epidemiological communities are more skeptical, and the investigation is continuing.

What all of the sources agree about is the extensive cover-up of data and information about COVID-19 orchestrated by the Chinese government.

Asked by Fox News' John Roberts about the reporting, President Trump remarked at Wednesday's coronavirus press briefing, "More and more we're hearing the story...we are doing a very thorough examination of this horrible situation."

In addition, new reporting says that the WHO was complicit in the Chinese cover-up from the very beginning, and that China knew about the virus but allowed it spread throughout Wuhan (and through the world) through six critical days.

Instead of warning their own citizens, China pretended there was no problem at all.

In the six days after top Chinese officials secretly determined they likely were facing a pandemic from a new coronavirus, the city of Wuhan at the epicenter of the disease hosted a mass banquet for tens of thousands of people; millions began traveling through for Lunar New Year celebrations.

As reports that this virus escaped from a Chinese lab and that China covered it up -- exposing the world to their pet plague -- Jim Acosta decided it was the perfect time to defend China and shield them from blame.

Donald Trump, Jr. suggested changing the name of the CNN to "Xi NN."

Noted Twitter Expert Tom Nichols has been savaging Tom Cotton for daring to say that maybe covid came from the Wuhan lab. Tom Nichols refuses to admit he was wrong to attack Cotton -- absolutely refusing to admit error is a key marker of the Modern Twitter Expert -- and instead starts putting made-up quotes in Cotton's mouth to further attack him.

Gee, I wonder why we've stopped trusting the Twitter Experts.

We are watching people talk about Biden like he's all there and a real candidate who can tie his shoe. Discussions of his ideology and policies, lol. As if they exist in his head.

And we are simultaneously watching millions of people die around the world and economies crushed - all because of CHINA.

Yet we see so many shills for China and other cowards tip-toeing around naming them as the enemy, or at the very least, the cause of all of these deaths and countries being destroyed.

Surreal times.

88 Apple products, and the disciplines imposed on the production line, prove that "China" and "Quality Control" must not *always* produce sheer crap.

Where China has the intristic failure node though, is in the concept of INTEGRITY.

For them, "Face" is a thing that outweighs Integrity, damn near every time.

Want to make a lifelong enemy? Cause a Chinese to "Lose Face" in front of his family, friends, co-workers or peers.

China tried to Save Face with the escaped virus.

What's needed most now, is for the majority of nations in the world to heap approbation onto China's head.

Strip their leadership of Face, by stripping them of Most Favored Nation status, any Chair at the U.N. and it's sub-organizations.

Recognize Taiwan. With the U.S. Embassy, restored.

And then spread the word through all channels.

The Chinese Communist Government has lost the Mandate of Heaven.

Beat that drum for a decade, if need be.

It won't result in a bloodless change. There will be blood. But there will be change.

Alas, no one can guarantee the nature of such change, now, can we?

96 The lab origin is kind of logical.

Let's say for instance I live in an area without a lot of wolves. But my neighbor has a pet wolf. One night, I get mauled by a wolf. Isn't it likely that the wolf who mauled me is my neighbors pet?

Lab studies bat virus. New bat virus appears near lab. This isn't rocket science.

Latest theory is a dipshit researcher fu--ed up their clean techniques, and brought it home with her. She gave it to her boyfriend, and he brought it to the Wuhan Wet Market and Exotic Animal Slaughter House.

Which explains why they are allowing Wet Markets to reopen in China. They know it was not the source, merely an early way station in the pandemic spread.

If it was the real source, every wet market would be closed, and their owners sent to reeducation camps.

141 the common belief (around here?) has been that it came from the lab, but probably not engineered, just part of their experimenting ... the bat likely not local to Wuhan and not the virus blamed on but not originating in the wet market. BUT the CCP made deliberate decisions to lie about it and deliberately spread it to the world ... so they wold not face economic harm alone.

I more and more move toward possible intentional release and possible part engineered, and one or both of those factors are why China works their propaganda so hard ... including their paid agents in the MSM.

Maria Bartiroma made a big deal early on, that China came to the White House conceivably carry the contagion right into the front door. All these things that were scoffed at are being considered possible, likely, at this point. 212 There is one long-term change I hope this brings about, related to international travel.

We should have a lot fewer international airports. Fewer, higher-volume, with more testing and screening equipment.

If you come in from abroad, it should go to a few aggregator airports. I am thinking that Logan, Newark or JFK, Dulles, Orlando, Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Seattle might be good choices.

Yes, this will mean extra domestic legs for a lot of people. But it will also mean that there are effective chokepoints on ingress from abroad and those fewer ports could be built up with medical testing/screening and make promulgation of travel restrictions - whether due to war, terrorism or outbreak - a lot easier to manage. With fewer places to staff, the people who know what they're doing (rare in an organization, let alone government) can be concentrated to where we're concentrating the potential problems.

We were never going to test everyone.

That's why relying on the data being supplied was always (ALWAYS) foolish for trying to determine the scope of the virus on the overall population.

What needs to happen is designed experiments that include randomized data collection (like what's been started in California) to get a better idea of what the actual rates are.

That this wasn't done from day one tells you how little people understand statistics, especially those in government.

We, as revolutionary humanitarians, do not want deaths, But if history confronts us with a choice between deaths of Chinese and those of Americans, we'd have to pick the latter, as, for us, it is more important to safeguard the lives of the Chinese people and the life of our Party.

The odds that a virus like that just suddenly appeared and infected humans, after thousands of years, in a wet market conveniently near the Wuhan lab that was experimenting with those very same viruses, have to be astronomical.

No, I don't think they are there yet. Maybe halfway there. Antibody Testing will answer that question.

Posted by: rd at April 16, 2020 12:45 PM (+0uDE)

It doesn't spread the way people originally thought, so any projection has to be modified to account for that.

Look at Russia: 1.6 million tests but only 27000 cases found, with 230 deaths. I believe in Russia it's mainly contained in Moscow.

The reports from NYC were just docs underestimating the actual number of people who are asymptomatic. We didn't do this back in the day but there were asymptomatic carriers of Polio as well. One problem with this sickness is it lies quite squarely between what people all would be afraid of, like Ebola, and something that does kill people but no one cares about, the Flu. So governments have to take action but no one quite has a grasp on what the numbers should be.

In any case, the 'dying off' of the virus claimed may just be that people are responding *on their own* regardless of gov't action because the internet brings news of the pandemic to everyone and within 8 weeks everyone is pretty much holed up, rarely going out and not going to public events exposed/unmasked anyway, except in places where people are stupid, where the virus *is* currently concentrated.

While they aren't showing numbers, I've gotten some information from people with access to local information, and the virus does tend to be concentrated in certain places, if some of this info was released however it might demonstrate disparate impact.

Maybe. But they probably are also considering we have a shitload more bio weapons than they do and if they go that route we can destroy them that way. That just seems to be a lose-lose scenario to me.

I've thought all along this virus accidentally escaped from one of their bio labs. The crime came in when they tried to cover it up and keep it contained.

Whether intentional or accidental it came from a lab and not a frigging bat soup.

the Chinese central gov't I think didn't do this on purpose. Here is why I think this: some time in Feb? early March? a paper was released from scientists in the central Chinese gov't claiming that the virus had the right fingerprints to have come from the lab.

Why would this happen? It's easy when you realize how China works.

the regional governments in China, while part of the overall apparatus, aren't completely merged with it; the central government relies on them reporting how they are doing economically, etc. And in good old Chinese fashion, they often lie.

That government - I don't know if city or region - lied about the outbreak to save face.

The rest is history.

470 Well now the destruction of the samples makes sense. If you were covering for your own blunders of having inflicted this on your own people and extensively the world. Going back and destroying what data that you might have had from T- case 0 makes a lot of sense.

BIG takeaway. China will lie at the expense of the lives of their own people. No way the lives of those who aren't Chinese mean a damn thing to them at all.

It's time to divest economically, get a tort judgement against them for damages, and cancel bonds in their holding at the current market rate until it's paid.

As an aside. That's of course how you know all this woke bull excrement is a bunch of lies. Here in the world today, their is the very model of 1930's-40's fascism complete with concentration camps et al. And the left defends them to the end.

The left doesn't *hate* Hitler they envy him.

Instead of the "master race" you have the stack.
Business partnered with political ends.
Global Hegemony under their control.
Re-education of non-supporters.

Some might argue that they aren't nationalist. But indeed they are, just not toward the USA. They view themselves as their own nation, and put their sovereignty and the good of that above that of any nation they reside in. And seek to establish control of other sovereignties by immigration of supporters. If immigration meant weakening their political position they would be building that wall themselves.

Ultimately they support globalism as a means to an end. Noting accurately the overwhelming majority of the rest of the world does not value freedom, and is not only used to authoritarian rule, but actually wants it.

Your father, and mine, and everyone in that population has statistically not very many years left to live, regardless of what their final illness ends up to be.

There are estimates of something like 70,000 additional deaths due to the effects of unemployment and economic strife.

You think those people should die in an effort to keep the elderly and infirm alive a little longer?

I don't think so at all. My dad is in his 80s and I don't want him out, since if contracted, it's hard on the respiratory system. Something that's way more fragile in the elderly.

That said, those in those risky groups need to do what they feel is necessary to be safe. And the rest of the country needs to go out and restart life by going back to work.

I don't believe so. They are, after all, high risk. And, I am far from one of the panickers or model-worshippers, but I am very glad my parents (in their 70s) are taking the prudent measures. That's the danger zone, age-wise.

My girlfriend's aunt is old, and also immune-compromised due to cancer/treatment. She is isolating in the extreme, and her son is frenetically sterilizing everything anyone touches, but as long as we wear masks and gloves and cover the baby in a plastic shield over her carseat, we can come in and hang out.

I think that's reasonable, even without coronavirus for people like her during flu season.

Here in the world today, their ( CHINA )is the very model of 1930's-40's fascism complete with concentration camps et al.

Posted by: Guy Mohawk at April 16, 2020 01:26 PM (r+sAi)

MD is underestimating. They only count deaths that are confirmed.

Number of Confirmed Cases: 10,784
Number of negative test results: 48,059
Number of Deaths: 392
Number of Probable Deaths: 67
Hospitalizations: 2,451 ever hospitalized
Released From Isolation: 736

Probable deaths = deaths that may or may not have been caused by the crownbug. If they were over-reporting, you'd not see this column.

Seems pretty on track for an average 3% mortality rate (a bit high right now, natch.)

I have no idea how NYC is doing, but I heard they were also under-reporting due to not reporting deaths at home.

I suspect however some places have over-reported, so you can find the evidence to believe whichever story you want to believe.

You seem very very concerned.

The jury is still out on whether high blood pressure is a risk factor at all. So saying it's the #1 risk factor for complications ahead of diabetes, heart disease, immune disorders et al seems very specious.

But I'll give you a fair answer anyway. Identifiably his risk factor is age. The risk to his life is significant if he were to contract the disease. Until we have either effective vaccines, like we do for the flu, or effective treatments, like we do for the flu, he may want to adjust his personal behavior accordingly to that risk.

480 people over 80 have gotten it, 110 have died (so far, still ~3.5 in hospital).

703 people in their 70's have gotten it, 68 have died.

580 I dunno. Conspiratorial thinkers might ask, "Did the Wuhan Lab virus escape from the lab, or was it released?" Look at the chaos that ensued. Do you think the ChiComms might expect that they would get some advantage out of such a release?

This particular virus was supposedly found in some bat feces in a cave in Western China. It was taken back to the Wuhan Lab where a researcher known as the "Bat Lady" [because she specializes in bat origin viruses] worked with it. The Wuhan Lab has some labs with bio protection at the highest level --Level 4. The Bat Lady works in a Level 2 lab. The release could have been sloppy---or it could have been intentional.

My theory is that they knew this was bad, and decided to let it spread to the world to destroy our collective economies and gain superiority. This was kind of an opportunistic act of war. I don't think they let it out on purpose, but made the most of the situation.

Posted by: shibumi says CV19 is a bioweapon at April 16, 2020 12:40 PM

With tinfoil hat still firmly sitting atop my head, I am sticking with my original theory that this was/is a Deep State-China joint black operation.

--- Deep State wants Trump gone
--- China wants Trump gone (bad trade agreements, etc.)
--- China wants their Hong Kong problem gone

This virus gives everyone cover. It's really no worse than influenza virus, but the reporting on it is completely different.

Consider how the reporting would be of a virus that kills 60,000 people in the USA within a year --- influenza --- where there were 20 million infections and 800,000 hospitalizations.

60,000 deaths = 164 per day / 5,000 per month
20 million infections = ~55,000 per day / 1.6 milllion per month
800,000 hospitalizations = 2,200 per day / 66k per month

Imagine if the media were reporting the infections and hospitalizations and deaths due to seasonal flu as breathlessly and hysterically as they are doing with COVID-19. Would it be any different?

Nope.

But what about the drastic measures being taken by China with their people? Well, they have a protest to put down, right? So they use the excuse of the virus and take all the extreme actions they want. Just like our totalitarian Governors are doing here with banning anything and everything they feel like. Only with China, they go to extremes and just kill people who aren't following the rules.

Then you have Event 201 that war-gamed a pandemic. And within a month a virus is released to start a pandemic.

And we have social media being used to either ban or correct "false information"... just as suggested in the Event 201 war-gaming.

And then there's Bill Gates who is against herd immunity and wants massive testing and vaccinations... who just happens to be in the business of tests and vaccinations.

And then there's Birx and Fauci connected to the Deep State.

And China and Gates control the WHO.

And Birx's relative who is involved with the Gates Foundation.

Yeah, maybe the last 5 weeks of working from home and dealing with Half-Whitmer and her army of Karens is heating me up and afixing the tinfoil a bit tighter to my head --- (I can see you all looking at me like Mel Gibson looking at his kids in Signs when they were wearing the tinfoil looking at the aliens book) --- but...

... if someone came on here last year and said that the entire nation's economy was going to be deliberately crashed by our own government by making the deliberate decision to shut everything down and keep people hostage in their homes, I likely would have been laughed off the blog. And yet, here we are...

The initial release may have been accidental, but the virus' development was a deliberate bioweapon effort.
