"If anything is obvious to me from these Democrat debates, where we get to see not one, not two, but 20 Democrats who think they should be president making their pitch to the American people on a national stage, it's that progressivism is a death cult. I'm not exaggerating for effect. At the end of every progressive policy or goal, there is death, death, and more death. Progressivism has come so that we may have death, and that more abundantly. I think it's demonic, but I think even a non-religious person can see that the way of the Left always ends in death. Always. It's the logical conclusion of every single progressive ideal. "And, of course, they want us dead. Which is why they hate us in general, and Donald Trump in particular. Because we're standing in the way of their 'progress.' And not only is Trump standing in their way, he's mooning them, too. "They think Trump is unhinged, but as far as I'm concerned, he isn't unhinged enough. His cannon is insufficiently loose. What we really need is a drunken ape in the White House armed with an aluminum baseball bat, a bullhorn and a flamethrower. That's the only solution at this point. But Trump is as close as we're going to get, so he'll have to do. For now. Please storm heaven for a miracle of complete healing. Also, Allison, another of her daughter’s friends, had a stroke two-weeks after the birth of her first child. She is still unable to walk after 6 months. Doubtful she will be able to teach again. Pray that she be fully healed and to enjoy life and her family. 7/1 Hrothgar’s SIL Elizabeth has diabetic related neuropathy. Just waiting for biopsy on removed cyst. Doctor says mass was removed. Prayers for complete healing. 7/29-BifBewalski, going in for lower back surgery August 1. Getting an artificial disc between S1 and LF. Prayers for a successful procedure and healing. 7/30-Hadrian IV – wife having full knee replacement August 2. Prayers for uneventful surgery and quick recovery. 7/30-NaCly Dog’s, wife has new mobility issues. Prayers for healing.
Job needs: Emperor County Boy asked for prayers for wisdom and guidance and direction in his job search and in other areas. Donna&&&& needs FT job in areas of expertise PDX Republican needs sedentary PT job. Fenelon’s Spouse is looking for FT job Hadrian IV is looking for new job. Insomniac has been in touch with a company about receiving some work in his field. Please continue to pray for him in this endeavor that this does indeed work out for him.

The spaghetti is reasonably generous, although again, merely ok. I make better spaghetti. I quite like their ravioli but they sometimes have cilantro in it, which is very unpleasant.

speaking of commies/Nazis/Fascists .... how many of them did the CIA bring in to the fold after WW2, the way we brought in German scientists? Those old globalists (powerful men that wanted world conquest, to form a world under their iron fist) ... the old failures of WW2 came in handy for a CIA with perhaps their own version of global conquest.

I was joined by an older Hispanic man and he stared a conversation about my running shoes asking me if I liked it etc etc and he got to asking me where I was from originally. And right on cue he started ranting about how trump is the biggest clown there is and immigrants are everywhere and the whites are the real invaders. I said uh yeah have a nice day and took off. Wtf already -can't even work out in peace without the crazies

There was a restaurant in West St Paul called the Anchor Inn. They used to serve all you can eat Alaskan King Crab Legs With Soup, Bread, and Salad for 19.95. I think this was probable 1980 or 81. My friends and I used to go there and hork out on the Crab legs and not touch what they would send out first. We dined it so much that we were eventually kicked out. No reason given. I believe it was because we didn't fill up on the Bread and Salad and Soup.

These guys were already fighting an uphill battle, they were serving authentic Italian in a time and place that wasn't really going to accept it or understand the nuance. They needed Prima to make this a big event, to put them on the map. Sure the people at the dinner loved the food, but mostly they were preaching to the converted. They were throwing a hail Mary and it didn't work. It was not likely going to work even if Prima showed up. I am not saying they went out of business, in the end, that wasn't really the story's point.

I was telling my wife about Fairfax Public Schools plan to move the property lines to create a better 'mix' of diversity across all HS and how this may help our home prices given Mt. Vernon is allegedly 60% Hispanic (try 80%). So instead of being happy she goes to the racist meme, that I'm racist cuz the county wants to share diversity more evenly. WTF? Evidently there are no enough whites to go around in NOVA.

They were throwing a hail Mary and it didn't work. It was not likely going to work even if Prima showed up.
This was actually a thing, I remember a local restaurant (South Philly) that hung their hat for DECADES on Maria Callas coming there - one time.
And honestly even now it's very difficult for an authentic Italian restaurant to succeed. We have one near me from my region and they do struggle with American tastes/expectations. They thank GOD for their liquor license, otherwise they'd be done (and they're pretty well known in the area).
Italians don't tend to eat out by the way. It's too frustrating. I've been dragged out to Ralphs and I'm like... why. why why why why why. It's painful.
but to be fair, Ralph's is "Sicilian" and I am definitely not that.

That happened to some friends of mine on the football team at some local Chinese all you can eat buffet. The old chinese lady who ran it got pissed off after they were there for a couple of hours, chowing down, and she shook her finger at them, saying "You go now! You been here too long!!!" and they said "but your sign says All You Can Eat for $10!" so she said "Yeah! And Dat all you can eat for $10!!! You Go Now!!!!"

It feels good in a screwed up way to see others acknowledge that the left wants us dead. I always feel like a nut job saying it out loud. I think in whole it's a societal breakdown. We now have generations of people that have been brought up not being disciplined by parents/authority and knowing there's a consequence for actions, plus if you touch me, I'll sue and or you'll go to jail mentality.It not only makes society violent it makes people rather brazen and confrontational when they're I'll equipped to be. These people get in your face the only way to deal with this type is violence.

And honestly even now it's very difficult for an authentic Italian
restaurant to succeed. We have one near me from my region and they do
struggle with American tastes/expectations. They thank GOD for their
liquor license, otherwise they'd be done (and they're pretty well known
in the area).
Italians don't tend to eat out by the way. It's too frustrating.

The proprietor was a youngish Korean man, but there was nobody else in the place (and it was small). His wife, who had an infant in a papoose on her back, was the waitress. We asked for drinks, but he didn't have any, nor wine, and only a few glasses of beer. He had no money for stock. We gave him some money and he left the restaurant to go to the store to buy some.

But I had two go to places in Rome. One was more tradition what you would expect (round pizzas made in brick ovens), and it was great. Dar Poeta. It's still there and I highly recommend it. I think that would do well in America.
The other was a small, hole in the wall that made the four foot long pizzas that sat out all day. They heated up slices that they cut with scissors in the oven. I loved that place for lunch. I'm not sure that would do well. (That specific one doesn't exist anymore, but there are many like it around Rome.)

I have found the closer a chain sit down restaurant is to an interstate the lower the quality.
An Olive Garden on a busy state road will be pretty good but the one just off I-95 with be terrible.
Same seems true for fast food joints.

When I was small my parents used to take me to a buffet style restaurant The Jolly Troll. There was a huge troll statue at the entrance that used to scare the kid snot out of me... Anywho, you paid for each item you took from the buffet. My Dad always said to NOT take what you won't eat, but I always took too much and never finished even a portion of what I grabbed. Finally my Dad got sick of it and said that if I didn't eat everything I grabbed that the Troll out front would follow me home. You know the rest... Couldn't finish what i grabbed and lived the next few months in constant fear that the Troll was going to confront me. Hindsight says that it was pretty damn funny.

I'd recommend avoiding Universal theme parks - almost all their rides are more "immersive 4D movies" now, not so much rides. at the Studio park she only enjoyed the ANCIENT E.T. ride! everything else made her sick

I still don't by the idea you can get garlic to "melt" if you slice it with a razor, but I damn sure tried.

There are strong Catholic legal immigrants from south of the border that very much want to live the old American dream. One second generation Mexican woman I know is very successful, very conservative ... I think she still reads at CTH, smart, fun, successful.
The immigrants that come legally are a different type than the anchor babies and dreamers that gamed the system from the get go ... not sure how many of each type we have, but we have to stop the flow of the third world types. Cloward-Piven wants to destroy us with those types, but it is not a race/ethnicity thing really. (yes magic dirt does not exist, but a meritocracy can sort many things out, if we take the schools back)
