For Some Reason, the UK Isn't Just Insistent on Denying Care to a Sick Baby, But to Positively Killing It

A children's hospital in Rome has offered a free flight and free care at their clinic. The flight would be staffed by their own employees.

Cost to the UK? Zero point zero pounds.

But for some reason, judges have proclaimed that not only is the state justified in denying care, but the state is further justified in taking active steps towards killing the infant, despite the parent's wishes and despite an offer of free care by a less savage nation.

It gets worse, if you can believe that -- the state now has its armed branches threatening citizens for speaking out against the all-powerful, all-wise state's decision:

If it can happen in England, it can happen here. We share 99% of our political-cultural DNA with England. We're just about 30 years behind England in terms of most aspects of devolution (in some areas, like social justice warrior tyranny, we're actually the innovators being copied by England).

This is what your future looks like.

3 Now, this is just messed up. Cold blooded baby murder, because the State cannot be made to look bad if the baby can go somewhere else and survive.

And what's up with threatening people who voice their disagreement?

Seriously, at this point in time with English speech police--isn't this about what Goebbels and Himmler were up to?

As an example, Arizona, it's become a challenge to get the proper drug cocktail to execute someone on death row because of what Obama's DOJ has done. It's a long story, but basically back channels have to be used and they may even bring back firing squads.

But here's a baby in the UK and the State can not only find the right drugs to kill the infant, but are actually ordering the parents to do so against their own will.

In other words, "Children are not possessions of parents, but of the state." The law lets the parents raise them - to a point - nothing the wording, "the law lets." This new thinking has permeated everything - school and gender confusion, health care, and so on.

Problem with that is parents will be arrested for some cockamamie 'child abuse' taking the child away from wise and good medical providers. And then they can't help the baby at all.

There have been US cases recently of medical diagnostic disagreements and the hospital charges the parents to take away custody.

One of my favorite stories from WWII is about a German Catholic Bishop who opposed the Nazis and spoke out against them vehemently (people forget that the Nazis put a lot of Catholics, and Catholic priests specifically, in the camps in WWII as well) . One day the Gestapo came to arrest him. He asked them to wait for a moment in the cathedral while he collected a few things. I short while later he appeared on the alter in all of his Bishop's refinement: miter, crook, robes, chasuble, alb, stole, cross, etc. etc. etc. "I'm ready," he said "take me." The Gestapo and accompanying soldiers sheepishly slinked out of the cathedral and never challenged him again, from what I understand. Got look a up that guy's name.

As I always tell my kids - a good priest is worth his weight in diamonds, and is just as rare.

Yes - the current "Pope" ( Sorry, Benedict is still the Pope as far as I am concerned) should have done something just like this - but Frankie Fabulous is to busy interfering in political issues like having countries open their borders for all to bother with little things like, oh, killing children and stuff.

Brits have a different perspective on this from Americans. We're much more individualistic, whereas they take a broader social view. They actually accept the idea that they probably won't get life-saving surgery past a certain age (IIRC 70 or so) because they've had their three score years and ten, and the resources can be better applied to, e.g., vaccinating children and such.

A VERY non-American perspective, driven by having socialized medicine. /spit

She offered to pay for it. Nope, if he doesn't want her to have it, then she can't have. The NHS rules are that you have to be over a certain age to get it, so too bad. Now, class, who are the major recipients of health care in this country? Full marks to everyone who answered, "Women!" Men rarely darken the door of a GP much before 40, barring accidents.

Anyway, I couldn't help but wonder if Alfie Evans is also fully cognizant, even though something has attacked his body. So evil that the court has decided he should be dead and is doing everything it can to make sure he dies.

They can't see past "free". Years ago I had a fraternity brother that thought socialized medicine was the answer. I was still a .mil dependent at the time and had injured my knee. Having no wheels, I talked him into driving me to a followup appointment at the military hospital that was treating me by enticing him with "you'll get to see how well socialized medicine works". That one trip was all it took for him to change his mind about socialized medicine.

283 Government knows better. They are preventing the child from suffering. The parents are just too stupid to understand. That is why all children should be removed from their parents and raised properly in government facilities. People can view them through a glass window if they insist on getting their fix of seeing kids. We might even allow a select few to hold children after proper screening, training and with extensive supervision.

I disagree on this. I think that it's the left's belief in the perfectibility and fundamental "good" of humanity that causes them to believe what they believe. In my life the conservatives are the ones I know who believe man is fallen and corrupted, have the worst things to say about humanity as a species, but strive to improve the world around them. The leftists are the utopians, and as such believe that humanity can be perfected by culling those that don't share their view. Their idea of good is a lockstep race of collectivists. Perfectibility is annihilating wrongthink, not reforming it or debating it.

Perfectibility is annihilating wrongthink, not reforming it or debating it.

IMHO, the Left wants to force everyone to conform to their vision of The Perfect Person. And they'll use anything at their disposal in order to do that, usually something nefarious, as history has demonstrated many times.

We on the right want to grow organically, through experience, with our own individual, God-given conscience as our guide.

The Left wants us to live from the outside in, while the Right wants to live from the inside out.

Posted by: White Helments Productions at April 25, 2018 06:03 PM (573j3)

Before they decided that multi-culty was awesome, London traditionally was the more freedom loving space. It was the opposite of Paris vs France. Traditionally, Londoners enjoyed more freedoms, probably because if a peasant made it to London and stayed for a year and a day he was no longer tied to his liege lord. London was thought of as "free," even before the countryside shed feudalism.

They've become what they shed before the rest of Europe shed it, the complete subjugation by the state. The Barons who forced the signing of the Magna Carta are rioting in their graves.
They've allowed the state to have divine right to rule, there is no other reason to respect such a decision.

402 When you want the government to give you "free" healthcare, they get to decide what's cost-worthy. Fine.

But nothing but power madness can explain why you won't let them seek care with non-government funds.

And nothing but sheer evil explains why the parents can't take the babies home. Remember? They denied Charlie Gard care and mandated his death but they wouldn't let the parents take him home to die, not even when they surrendered their passports. Same thing with Alfie.

403 Why are we surprised, socialized medicine is liberal speakezze for rationed healthcare, it's not free but you wait on lists hoping you don't die before your name comes up. He called 911 begging them to come and give him water, when the cops showed up the nurses said he was just a serial whiner.

Posted by: Lizzy at April 25, 2018 05:41 PM (W+vEI)

Having been a health care professional, I can say with certainty that when research and science determines that a current recommendation that the gov. went all out to "educate' everyone was mandatory or you will die, is no longer considered required , the government is the last one to finally agree to give up their power hold on the recommendation.

When the recommendation that mammagrams were not warranted yearly for low risk women, the public went apeshit and used it as proof that the Gov. now wants to kill you off.

The moral of the story is to not listen to recommendations from the Gov. Listen to recommendations from your MD. Not from your health insurer, not from your next door neighbor, not from some politician.

Mammograms are absolutely, positively overused and done by rote instead of by best practice for an individual patient. Same with colonoscopy.
Same with a lot of testing.

On the reverse side, people with family history of diabetes should be tested in their twenties and then periodically. Not when they turn fifty. Blood pressure should be checked and can be checked easily at home and should be done on women well before menopause.

So much medical testing and monitoring is done out of fear of lawsuits, and not based on science.
