His unstable behavior was known to teachers, who did nothing. The armed guard at the school stood there with his thumb up his butt while the the school was being shot up, and did nothing. In other words, we have a avalanche of failures from the highest levels down to the lowest. Every rule, every procedure, every safeguard that was put in place to stop these shootings from happening failed to stop this one from happening because the adults who were entrusted with the responsibility to keep shootings from happening did not do their f*ing jobs. Everybody knew the kid had serious problems, but nobody wanted to step up and actually do anything about it. And now we're treated to the spectacle of these fake 'townhall' meetings organized by left-wing agitators who teach the kids to recite the anti-gun talking points that they want them to say and we're supposed to just nod our heads and pretend that all we need to do is pass a few more laws and then everything will be just ducky. Destruction of evidence. Corruption of data. Criminal negligence. Defrauding the Federal government. It was not a failure. It's not just that kid. It's systemic, and purposeful. And it's been going on for years. It's the policy of the school system and the police to ignore and coverup criminal behavior by students to keep the system's statistics looking good and money for having low student crime rates flowing. It's not just this school system either. The Obama administration put in place the incentives to fudge the numbers and coverup the crimes back in 2010. The 27 minute delay on the surveillance is to allow time to delete video evidence of crimes so they don't have to be written up and then entered into the statistical record. The SROs are hired for their ability to coverup crime not enforce the law or stop it. http://tinyurl.com/y8c3lf8k Posted by: geoffb at February 23, 2018 11:25 AM (zOpu5) 36

[Tnuza Jamal] Hassan is a hard, hard case. Hassan set one fire at St. Mary Hall, the school's largest dorm. It houses first-year students and the Early Childhood Center, a day care facility. Hassan appears to have included St. Mary Hall on her rampage because of the day care facility. Thirty-three children and eight adults were at day care in the building at the time, along with 10 to 15 students who were also evacuated. Overlooked because she didn't manage to kill anyone, but her intentions were monstrous. The FBI didn't think she was a risk even after she admitted to them that she had "attempted to provide material support to a designated foreign terrorist organization, namely, al-Qa'ida. IT'S WORSE- FROM VOX POPULI
The Broward County cover-up At least part of the police cover-up of the recent school shooting at Douglas is related to the way in which the County Sheriff and School Superintendent are trying to hide their corrupt scheme to NOT enforce the law when faced with more criminal behavior by students than their monthly crime quota will permit. The Last Refuge explains: I spent about 18 months in 2012, 2013 and 2014 investigating Broward and Miami-Dade school policies and how those policies transfer to law enforcement practices. My interest was initially accidental. I discovered an untold story of massive scale and consequence as a result of initial research into Trayvon Martin and his High School life. What I stumbled upon was a Broward County law enforcement system in a state of conflict. The Broward County School Board and District Superintendent, entered into a political agreement with Broward County Law enforcement officials to stop arresting students for crimes. The motive was simple. The school system administrators wanted to "improve their statistics" and gain state and federal grant money for improvements therein. So police officials, the very highest officials of law enforcement (Sheriff and Police Chiefs), entered into a plan. As soon as Miami-Dade began to receive the benefits (political and financial) from the scheme, Broward County joined on. The approach in Broward was identical as the approach in Miami-Dade. It's important to remember, this was not an arbitrary change - this was a well-planned fundamental shift in the entire dynamic of how teenagers would be treated when they engaged in criminal conduct. The primary problem was the policy conflicted with laws; and over time the policy began to create outcomes where illegal behavior by students was essentially unchecked by law enforcement. Initially the police were excusing misdemeanor behaviors. However, it didn't take long until felonies, even violent felonies (armed robberies, assaults and worse) were being excused. The need to continue lowering the arrests year-over-year meant that increasingly more severe unlawful behavior had to be ignored. Over time even the most severe of unlawful conduct was being filtered by responding police. We found out about it, when six cops blew the whistle on severe criminal conduct they were being instructed to hide. The sheriff and police Chiefs were telling street cops and school cops to ignore ever worsening criminal conduct. The police were in a bind. They were encountering evidence of criminal conduct and yet they had to hide the conduct. There were examples of burglary and robbery where the police had to hide the recovered evidence in order to let the kids get away without reports. The police would take the stolen merchandise and intentionally falsify police records to record stolen merchandise *as if* they just found it on the side of the road. They put drugs and stolen merchandise in bags, and sent it to storage rooms in the police department. Never assigning the recovery to criminal conduct. Stolen merchandise was just sitting in storage rooms gathering dust. They couldn't get the stuff back to the victim because that would mean the police would have to explain how they took custody of it. So they just hid it. To prove this was happening one of the officers told me where to look, and who the victim was. At first I didn't believe them. However, after getting information from detectives, cross referencing police reports, and looking at the "found merchandise", I realized they were telling the truth. A massive internal investigation took place and the results were buried. Participating in the cover-up were people in the media who were connected to the entire political apparatus. The sheriff and police chief could always deny the violent acts (assaults, rapes, beatings etc.) were being ignored; that's why the good guys in the police dept gave the evidence of the stolen merchandise. That physical evidence couldn't be ignored and proved the scheme. From 2012 though 2018 it only got worse. In Broward and Miami-Dade it is almost impossible for a student to get arrested. The staff within the upper levels of LEO keep track of arrests and when a certain number is reached all else is excused. Well it didn't take long for criminal gangs in Broward and Miami-Dade to realize the benefit of using students for their criminal activities. After all, the kids would be let go... so organized crime became easier to get away with if they enlisted high-school kids. As criminals became more adept at the timing within the offices of the officials, they timed their biggest crimes to happen after the monthly maximum arrest quota was made. The most serious of armed robberies etc. were timed for later in the month or quarter. The really serious crimes were timed in the latter phases of the data collection periods. This way the student criminals were almost guaranteed to get away with it. Now. You can see how that entire process gets worse over time. Present corruption (the need to hide the policy) expands in direct relationship to the corruption before it. This is where the School Police come into play. Understanding the risk behind the scheme, it became increasingly important to put the best corrupt cops in the schools. *BEST* as in *SMARTEST*. Those SRO's became the ones who were best at hiding the unlawful conduct. Again, over time, the most corrupt police officers within the system became the police inside the schools. These officers were those who are best skilled at identifying the political objectives and instructions. Those "School Cops" also have special privileges. It's a great gig. They get free "on campus" housing close to the schools they are assigned to etc. They're crooked as hell and the criminal kids how just how to play them. It's a game. Also an open secret. A lot of it came out during an earlier *internal affairs* investigation. Unfortunately the behavior never changed because the politics never changed. It's still going on. For years this has been happening and no-one cared. Crimes happen; students excused; victims ignored; etc. The Broward County School and Law Enforcement system is designed to flow exactly this way. It's politics. Only then a Parkland school shooting happened. For Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel this had to be an "oh shit" moment; but not for the reasons the media initially thought. If people start digging, they'll discover the shooter was one of those previously excused students. The same sentiment applies for Sheriff Scott's partner, School Superintendent Robert Runcie (previously from Chicago).... things are very risky if people start digging. Ah, but blaming ONLY the gun, that's assigning collective responsibility. The left loves that. Posted by: mercenary13 at February 23, 2018 11:28 AM (7BPEK) 66

It's called "moral authority". They expect these kids (and their adult enablers) to shame us because they're the victims. You know what? That might have worked before the progs turned victimhood into something noone cares about. But, starting with Cindy Sheehan, they drove it into the ground. On top of which, they deny any moral authority to victims of *their* policies. So, here we are, with an awful lot of America looking at those kids and giving them a sorry-my-give-a-damn's-busted. At certain levels the FBI seems more complicit than idiotic.
Are they refusing to warn schools or others about threats they find, with investigative intent to eliminate others connected to the threat? That might be one excuse, but considering the Deep State global cabal has open intent to establish their New World Order, and Hillary back in 1999 praised Cronkite over his Global Governance Award ... it sure seems disarming the public as a goal, is advanced by the tactic of allowing known mass killers to roam free till they do their dirty deed. (and that assumes they are not more directly pushed either by the constant media narrative of hate, or the psychotropic drugs, or some other MK Ultra style trigger) FBI at top levels is not (currently) our friend. Last night I watched that Branch Davidian documentary ... they murdered all those people, and lied to the committee and US about it. One blamed the parents saying he thought the parents would come out if their kids were going to die, "but the parents didn't care". ie ... "we threatened the kids with death to get the parents out, then we carried out our threat and murdered them all" "Comply/submit or we will murder you and your children". FBI Except if you are a killer ... then we will use your mass murder to get people to comply with gun confiscation and BigFascism. (9/11?) Deep State wants to end the republic, and is taking extreme actions to that end .. these actors needs prison or hanging. Posted by: illiniwek at February 23, 2018 11:45 AM (bT8Z4) 149

Why open carry? Take about having ego issues.
Well, in my case it's because the law had forced me to. Until relatively recently, it was illegal in Virginia to carry concealed if you were in a restaurant that served alcohol. Didn't matter if you were drinking or not, you weren't allowed to carry concealed. However, the law is silent on open carry, so it became de rigeur to carry openly in such places. I chose to do that rather than leave my HK in the car where it is at greater risk of being stolen than on my 4:00. That created a lot of fun conversations between me and police. One time two cops stopped me and asked me what the hell I was doing. I said "going home from lunch." They wanted to hit me for something, anything, and went so far as to ask the restaurant manager (in a very leading way) if I was being any kind of problem. The manager said I was welcome any time, all the time. Cop frustration was palpable. So nothing to do with ego. Another point - carrying openly in VA requires no permit. Some people don't care to be a part of a big and subject-to-FOIA database. Posted by: WitchDoktor, AKA VA GOP Sucks at February 23, 2018 12:07 PM (PFy0L) 262

As an aside, when the legislature did try to over ride that veto, the governor knew exactly who to cajole and pressure with threats and bribes to make that one person change their vote. At any rate, several small groups of 2a supporters decided to take the governor up on his claims and stage public displays of open carry. Some groups would show up at a culvers custard shop and merely eat ice cream outside while armed, others chose to clean up roadsides while armed. I remember the news conference the FL governor gave the day after the shooting. First words out of his mouth was recognizing and thanking the various LEO's for their hard work. I thought it was highly inappropriate for several reasons, and now it looks like the police could have prevented this or at least reduced their carnage if they were doing their job, not trying to meet proper crime quotas

The Broward (and Miami-Dade) scandal involving the school systems and LE intentionally and systematically concealing crime to lower their stats is breath-taking.
My favorite part - organized crime/gangs figuring out the system and then gaming it by using more school-age kids, and timing big events for after the "quota" of reportable crimes was filled. I'd really like to see specific, concrete, irrefutable evidence of this - but it's completely plausible, and likely. One just wonders how the country has even survived this far with the apparent shortage of intelligent, responsible, honorable adults being so extreme. 383 Seriously please read that link above on twitter about Broward County. They are deliberately not reporting crimes by teenagers, to the point they were lying about where they recovered stolen goods from (claiming it was "found on the side of the road") so that the stats looked better from high school students.

The deputy who stood outside while the shooting was going on wasn't necessarily acting (or not acting) out of cowardice.
When I attended Jump School at Ft. Benning all those years ago, we had five training jumps. On the second jump, a guy froze in the door of the aircraft (a C123). I was two men behind him on the stick. In the old days even before my time, jumpmasters would essentially kick or push the guys who froze out the door. The Army stopped doing that in training because there were a few instances where entanglements and other mishaps resulted, so the jumpmaster just unhooked the guy and placed him out of the way. The guy failed the course, of course. Had we been jumping for real and not in training, I suspect he would've been kicked out the door, no problem. In dangerous circumstances, people sometimes freeze in the door: they want to do the right thing but every cell in their body is telling them not to, so they just freeze up, do nothing, stand in place. In dangerous circumstances, people sometimes freeze in the door: they want to do the right thing but every cell in their body is telling them not to, so they just freeze up, do nothing, stand in place.
It doesn't matter. All that matters is that there was a deputy in place to deal with this exact kind of issue and he sat out in the parking lot instead. The point here is that if law enforcement and school admins had done their jobs, if all the stuff in place to protect kids had been used, this event would almost certainly not happened. And that means all this talk of gun control and needing new laws is pointless. Posted by: Christopher R Taylor at February 23, 2018 12:40 PM (39g3+) 473

One of my Facebook friends has a few times already, made the "the teacher would have to have "superior firepower" so would need an AR-15 or more, argument.
So it seems this must be a talking point of the left put out so their submissives can make super smart arguments for gun control. Of course it is nonsense for a few reasons that come to my (untrained in tactics) mind. An attacker has a disadvantage, one hit is one hit, deterrence is the biggest point, multiple teachers emerging and firing from cover is indeed superior ... a teacher with a handgun is better than a teacher (or soldier, or theater goer) catching bullets Posted by: illiniwek at February 23, 2018 12:42 PM (bT8Z4) 480

Posted by: Donna and V. (sans ampersands at the present time) at February 23, 2018 12:28 PM (ZM2xo) If you are afraid to exercise a right for fear of harassment or violence, you don't have that right any more. People who open carry are partly trying to combat the knee-jerk hysterical reaction some people have to guns. Posted by: redbanzai the Southerner at February 23, 2018 12:32 PM (qf8IB) I agree with both of you. It is the reason for the open carry displays in Wi. But now that there is a CC law on the books, I think that's the way to go. The less others know about me in that regard the better. Most of us respect our fellow man, and realize that some are uncomfortable around firearms. Why go out of your way to make others uncomfortable? On the flip side, a right you cannot use is no right at all. Posted by: OneEyedJack at February 23, 2018 12:42 PM (z79tQ) 483

After little nothing's tantrum, I was more on the fence than probably a good number of you on the matter of the 2nd Amendment. I'm not a huge fan of guns--I've seen their destructive power on the human body up close. I know that there are enough psychopaths, sociopaths, "lost souls," and terroristic people out there who would think nothing of inflicting harm on me just because I'm a human being (although I don't know if I could pass a Turing test, so I may be a Russian bot).
But as occurs so often, the aftermath has been blatantly engineered by the left, which has pushed me off the fence and back in the warm embrace of constitutionalism. The left literally blows every opportunity to sound reasonable. Posted by: Big Fat Meanie at February 23, 2018 12:49 PM (hqZPQ) 490

The widow of an Uber driver killed in a suspected drunken driving crash said her family has been "devastated" by a political ad featuring her deceased husband, an Indianapolis Colts player who was also killed and the Guatemalan man who was charged with their deaths. She added: "If he had been sober and gone by them on the road, you wouldn't even know he was in the country." Furthermore, she said her husband of 26 years was against building a wall along the southern U.S. border. Since everyone from Jeff Sessions to the school security guard is failing to enforce laws, private individuals are going to need to step up. If those kids in the school who all knew the crazy guy was crazy had put him in the hospital, maybe he would've gotten help.

It's the Titanic of preventable school shootings - layer after layer after layer of necessary failure - including an Ismay with now trashed reputation who ditched a kid in the hall as he made a hasty exit from the building to apparently set up an outdoor perimeter of one.
Perverse economic incentives are also everywhere you look. His actual arrest could have cost federal money. The state social worker certainly had incentives to avoid putting him away, even though hospitalization for a few weeks would have barred him from legally owning a gun. The state likes to avoid the impossible cost of institutional care, (even temporary institutional care) for which actual beds are rare as hens teeth, and I am certain this is the reason a kid who cut his own arms open on youtube was declared neither danger to himself or others. Not to mention that new bit about the resource officer refusing to confer with the social worker. If similarly tipped I could have googled - GOOGLED - up that kid with enough info to warrant contacting local law enforcement at least, so I don't understand why this was beyond the FBI after three separate credible reports on the same person, some more alarming than others. If I had pointed a gun at someone's head, I would think it likely I would be arrested, and there is no clear rational answer to why it had no effect on the residence of the Broward shooter/mental case.
