MeAgain's Ratings the Lowest for NBC's Today in a Decade

By the way, the Today show's ratings are actually up, overall, after the Lauer drama, because, as someone at Instapundit said, people like to watch train wrecks.

But some train wrecks are just too offputtingly icy, mercenary, phony, and self-regarding to watch.

Megyn Kelly is attracting the lowest audience for the "Today" franchise in more than a decade.
Kelly, who debuted her morning show in September in the third hour of the "Today" franchise, averaged 2.29 million viewers in the November sweeps period, The Wrap reports. That's the lowest for any hour in the franchise since 2000.
When it comes to the 25-54 age demographic coveted by advertisers, Kelly is doing even worse, The Wrap reports.

It's time for her to self-exile to the Island of Former Celebrities.

Well, Bronco did end Veteran homelessness. I think that was 2015. It was in all the papers. Or maybe it wasn't.

All I know is all the phony numbers they were touting then are the same phony stats they put together now, and they literally claimed on January whatever of that year that each and every Veteran was either off the streets, or was accounted for in some program or another (billions and billions sent to HUD for that very purpose).

Which, for statistical purposes, meant Veteran homelessness was ended. For that one day, at least.

The next day, the tent city folks went back to their tent cities and/or burned out buildings.

i see at least 1 JC Type One recommendation pretty much every time i go to the local VA facilities.

there ARE some good people in the buildings, but the system is designed to fail on purpose, and the vast majority of the staff falls back on "it's not my j*b" when you want something done. either that or "you have to ask your doctor, we can't tell you what we're testing/doing..."

Hell, i tried to make an appointment to come in and talk with the docs on one specialty team: not allowed. i can't make an appointment unless they pre-authorize it. WTF?

I absolutely love Mulholland Drive and Lost Highway. And will re-watch even Season 2 of Twin Peaks now and again...

But I hated Inland Empire, and I can't really explain why. I don't think that means it's bad, it just hit something in me I don't exactly understand, and I'm afraid to watch it again to find out.

493 Don't start with it, no. I would absolutely recommend delving into the work of David Lynch though. Some people don't dig it. That's fine, but if... IF you don't mind a hard R rated film, seek Blue Velvet. See how that goes. Then venture forth! Carefully!!

Absolutely, but it does not give one the "taste" of Lynch one would need to work one's way up to Eraserhead.

Given the title, I wouldn't be surprised if he just up and said, "I'm going to make a movie, a straight story. No insanity," and then did so.

The main character's name is Straight, but I have no doubt Lynch set out to do an anti-Lynch movie by David Lynch.

Perhaps not. It may be intoxicating on its own.

By the way, the lead actor? Same guy who played Pete Martell (the man who found Laura Palmer) in Twin Peaks.

I had no idea until years later. Lynch used him in a number of his films.

I bought a copy of Eraserhead a few years ago... might be a Criterion Collection thing. Haven't yet brought myself to watch it again. Someday. Soon, perhaps.
