Rep DeSantis Proposes Bill to Defund Mueller's Star Chamber After 180 Days and Limit Its Scope to Only Actions Taken During Trump's Presidential Bid

Interesting.

Before you say "But that could never pass!," well, you're probably right, but it could possibly pass if it were attached to a must-pass spending bill. Which is what DeSantis proposes.

Republicans could force the proposal on to that bill -- but I don't think they will. I support this effort anyway, because I no longer wish to obscure disputes within the GOP; I want them pushed to the fore and exposed.

I want to know who it is, exactly, who disputes the idea of limiting Mueller's probe in some way, rather than permitting a review of all actions committed over decades.

I don't want the other SubRight GOPers to be allowed to duck this question by their Praetorian of "leadership" which won't permit any tough votes to come to the floor.

But of course the GOPe leadership is in the Incumbent Protection Racket, and they will in fact block this.

22 I think that its a bad precedent to set to congressionally limit this kind of office -- how will it be used if someone was, say, investigating Obama? -- but there has to be some oversight. The guy is obviously just there to dig and find something, anything, to get rid of Trump no matter how far back or unrelated it is to his commission.

Probably the better way to do it is pass specific legislation that controls the creation and use of this kind of office. how many have actually accomplished anything of value? How many times have they been created and just petered out wandering all over spending hundreds of millions and years to find something, anything to claim as a scalp?

Forcing them to stay on target and limiting their spending ability to reasonable levels would be a nice start.

I'm stealing this from someone else, I mean reappropriating it to me: I didn't vote GOP for the last several elections just to run up the number of seats for my team. I voted for the GOP to get done what they said they would do.

As far as attaching this to a must pass bill, hey, it's about time we played that game too.

Mueller has effectively removed Russia, Russia, Russia from the front page. Except for the leaking liars.

So I'm ambivalent. He wants to play his game for as long as the checks continue to arrive every week or two. American people understand that. But it also pisses them off to no end.

The Democrats are setting themselves up for failure which will redefine the word 'epic' in the next election.

When I was writing my blog 6 days a week, I'd do a lot of posting of songs and lyrics and what they meant and so on. Unfortunately, at least at the time, most lyric sites also were big on banner ads, and they didn't seem to give a damn where they got the ads from.

I'd always cringe at what my computer was loading and putting into the cache on those banner ads, some of it was really godawful stuff. It made me wonder how easily the police could find something incriminating on my computer, when I wasn't even trying to find something remotely bad.

99 There was a really funny bit on the Bernie Mac show where it starts out with him talking to his obviously traumatized little girl who was working on a paper for school and looked up the word "pussy."

Some terms which used to be completely safe and reasonable like "facial" have turned into something ugly and nasty online so you can get into terrible places without meaning to. The "safe search" option on search engines helps, but its not 100%.

If I have my car in the driveway, it is OK for me to carry a gun out to my car, to go shooting... however...

If my car is parked in the street, as I would have to cross the sidewalk (which is considered Public) with a firearm, to put it in my car, I am violating that Law against having a firearm with 1000 ft of a school... a felony....

That's really depressing

That is a sick shame, and however helped her into that line of work as a minor needs to be hung up by intimate parts of their anatomy in prison.

I suspect her dad or foster parents were the ones most responsible for her lifestyle arc. And porn producers who weren't all that careful in checking ages.

Jewel Shepherd, was in a bunch of cheesy teen movies in the 80s and horror films. She was molested pretty much constantly by her dad util she ran away from home. Got picked up by a trucker, who took her into his hotel room to pay for the ride. Dumped her at a strip joint where she found work. She writes a lot of stuff warning girls to avoid her mistakes.

Not all porn and prostitution workers have stories like this but I fear most do. Its not a job you take with high aspirations, its more a desperation thing like the Reba McIntyre song "Fancy." We need more outreach and aid programs from churches and such to help these girls out. And the guys too.

173 Brooke Shields did some soft pron movie way back when she was seriously underage.

Pretty Baby. It was one of those porn/art films in the 70s. I've seen it, its not terrible, although Susan Sarandon is in it too much. The movie is about an artist and the girl he wants to save from the brothel she grew up in before she gets turned out. She's nude in it some, but its little kid nudity, not porny as I remember.

There was a bunch of that kinda stuff in the 70s though, underage girls in movies presented as art and high brow stuff, telling "important stories" that happened to involve little girls being naked and in sexual situations. The 80s kind of put an end to that in America at least.

Spent a few months in Palo Alto doing contract work with a Finnish engineer. There was this little food court tucked between a couple of building. At the entrance was a sign with "No Smoking" in about a hundred languages.

He decided that, since none of those languages was Finnish, he was allowed to smoke.

178 I suspect her dad or foster parents were the ones most responsible for her lifestyle arc. And porn producers who weren't all that careful in checking ages.

Actually, this came up in court when the producers were brought up on charges. As it happens she produced apparently valid ID to show she was of age, but that ID had been procured using a forged driver's license, which the issuers of said ID had examined and accepted.

What ID did she use, you may ask?

Why, a United States passport. The suckers taken in by the fake driver's license were the United States Department of State.

The matter was quietly dropped.

I have, in pursuit of my continuing scientific studies on human sexuality, perused many thousands of hours of video. There's usually something less than perfect, perhaps even objectionable, about almost everyone when seen from a certain point of view or angle.

It's usually the teeth. Everything else perfect. Hollywood has zero tolerance for crooked teeth, it appears.

Ginger Lynn was quite a decent actress. Also Amber Lynn, no relation. They both had recent comeback careers when the MILF thing became huge.

I don't expect that to happen nearly as quickly as a stitch/replace based on human actor performance. Considering what's become possible with facial animation morphemes and the fact that a facial animation for any character can technically be performed by anybody, and the creation of things like Vocaloid, I'd expect the ability to create a voice performance with "guidance" from an actor deliery will be possible soon. If not already.

Since it's already been determined by the judicial system that an IP address does not equal an individual, I have what I think is the perfect system. Two wi-fi units. One runs constantly, under strict password safeguards. Another one completely unfettered. Anyone can stop in front of my house and download any sort of crap they desire. If it happens to be turned on. Which it is sometimes. But I don't keep a log. But I leave it on a lot. Sometimes. (Try to get a conviction on that kind of evidence, any Fed who would plant shit on my computer, thank you very much)

The Feds drop a subpoena on my Internet provider, they can't tell which unit provided the bad stuff. Not that I'm doing anything bad, but I've been hacked so many times, on the so many different devices on my network that I'm taking a proactive approach. 271 Watched a "highlight" video of a "documentary" on the "reality pr0n" industry (no actual sex or nudity in the segments I saw, swearsies). You're pretty much spot-on with this. Pr0n is nothing new to digital-age millennial girls and they know there's money to be made. Multiple guys interviewed said the girls tend to last "12-18 months, tops" before they burn out.

Even at that age there's only so much the body can take, it seems.

"Live Nude Girls" is the documentary, I think. It's on Netflix and is good. Depressing as hell, but good. And I don't think it's wear and tear on the body, but on the soul. They get into it because they "love sex" or because they need the money, and quickly burn out mentally.

She'll likely lose with the 2nd Circuit. SCOTUS is another matter.

Big issue is that Sarah got dismissed before she got discovery. Without discovery she couldn't establish which specific people at the NYT had actual malice. Without that evidence, she got dismissed. It's a Catch 22.

If SCOTUS rules for Sarah it'd be a Big Fucking Deal. If they don't it means that MSM can lie with impunity.

331 So, I'm not the only one that thinks atomic war is the answer to most of our problems. I went to the grocery store today, mostly for the exercise and the ogling of the patrons, but I noticed that almost all of the white-cheddar-cheese popcorn was sold out. Everyone knows that a run on, pretty much, any kind of popcorn means that war is not far away. Hurry, Jesus. Burn this thing!

333 I would not mind living out my days in a radioactive wasteland, just so that I am sure that all of those that hate us are crispy. Foreign and domestic.

334 Here's the thing with Trump and the Russia shit..

He was not in office at the time! Emolluments? Only an office holder can be charged with that stuff.

Even if someone in the Trump campaign had convinced the Russians to hack the DNC and Hillary (they didn't), what are they going to charge them with?

The money laundering stuff gets a little closer to Trump.. but I doubt he has been hands-on with individual transactions where a Russian buys one of his condos for many years.

But they will try to get him.. I have no doubt of that! But Trump can afford pretty good lawyers.

336 I think you should go with sub-right instead of SubRight.

It's catchier.
