Great Conservative Hope Gary Johnson: No, I Don't Believe in Religious Freedom. After All, What Happens if Your Religion Says You Have to Kill Someone? I Can't Get Down With That.

Well, I'll give him this: He obviously loves pot.

Apparently the right to have someone bake a cake endorsing your sexual choices lies on the same plane as the right to be free of unwanted religiously-motivated murder, and both situations compel the same analysis and conclusion.

This "libertarian" sure seems pretty authoritarian when it comes to enforcing liberal Democratic social-justice imperatives.

The New "Libertarians"

Why, we can't have people just doing whatever they want!

That would lead to social disorder! Nay -- That might lead to anarchy!!!

Reefer Madness!

47 Gary Johnson is an extremist "no borders" nutcase. From his turn on "Center Seat" on Special Report with Bret Baier:

TUCKER CARLSON: What about illegal immigration. You just said you want to make it easier for people to come and work here. Since 2000, we have admitted legally immigrants for every job created. So what specifically is the right number we should admit every year?

GARY JOHNSON: Get the government out of quotas. Look, they will either reach out --

CARLSON: So you're saying there should be no limit at all?

JOHNSON: No limit at all. There will either be jobs or there won't be jobs. And right now, an untold story is there's a reverse migration taking place right now. There are more jobs in Mexico right now than the U.S.

CARLSON: That's actually untrue. We are moving toward the highest level of foreign born people in the United States at any time in our history.

JOHNSON: But the jobs. The jobs aren't in the United States right now.
They are currently in Mexico. So you have, right now, you have got Mexicans going back across the border into Mexico because there's more jobs.

CARLSON: Then why are we getting 1.1 million illegal people coeing here every year, because there aren't jobs?

JOHNSON: I'm saying 1.1 million immigrants that are coming across the border illegally, that's a woman who is in Juarez. She can't get across the border legally, but yet there are jobs awaiting her in El Paso. So she's wading across the Rio Grande with her kids. Make it as easy as possible for her to come across and get the jobs that do exist. And they are not taking jobs that U.S. citizens want.

131 Interestingly, Dan Savage, Mr. "Gay Bully" himself, has spent the last week on a one-man crusade to completely destroy Jill Stein, as a crank, a crackpot, and evil tool of the conservatives. He says he is doing explicitly to defend Hillary's chances of winning, because he doesn't want Jill Stein to bleed away even one otherwise-Hillary vote.

Being Dan Savage, his attacks are vicious, sadistic, hate-filled, cruel, unhinged and completely no-holds-barred when it comes to deranged threats and backstabbing. he says straight-up that stopping Trump should be leftists sole goal. At Any Costs. "By Any Means Necessary."

Ace's mirror___ takedown of Gary Johnson is so mild and polite in comparison that it feels like an episode of Romper Room.

201 I mean under the guise of religious freedom, anybody can do anything. Back to Mormonism. Why shouldn't somebody be able to shoot somebody else because their freedom of religion says that God has spoken to them and that they can shoot somebody dead.

There is a point to be made in there, but this was a STUPID way to make the point. What I think is wrong, actually unconstitutional, is forcing private citizens to make accommodations for others' religions.

Example: Company provides a service to the public. Requires employees to wear a uniform (with hat) and its male employees to be clean shaven. Male Sikh employee complains that his religion requires him to wear a turban and not shave. Female Muslim employee wants to wear a scarf. Male Jewish employee wants to wear a yarmulke. All claim religious rights, threaten to sue if not accommodated.

The owner of the business should not be required to run his business according to others' religious beliefs. If he wants all his employees to wear his company uniform to present the public with the image he is trying to promote, that should be his right. If others don't want to work there under those circumstance, that's their right.

Exactly. And their open borders push is just insanity. Believing in free movement as a principle is one thing, but the combination of free movement and a welfare state will create a giant influx of mooches that will sponge off of the public teat and eat the citizenry out of house and home. If you don't reform or abolish the entitlement system first, you'll drive the country into the ground at ludicrous speed.

Totally Gentile here, and I got snipped shortly after I was born. Back in 1960, it was standard procedure, and it should be now.

Dad was snipped, too, though I don't know when. His parents were poor and he was born at home and I doubt it happened before birth. He joined the Navy in WWII and circumcision worked like this in the armed forces:

1) Hey, Jews, take a break for a few days.

2) Hey, non-Jews, let's go watch some movies.

3) Non-Jews got to watch movies of what sexually-transmitted diseases look like and were told that circumcision provided some protection. Next, the nice officer told the enlistees that much of this, as well as other problems, can be prevented with a little snip-snip and they'd have a few days of light duty to recuperate.

4) Most enlistees opted to become honorary Jews.

5) Dad was not the type of man who would have ever cheated on mom, but he knew a good deal when he saw one.

292 I tried acid once, on the night of a Genesis concert. It was OK I guess.

Then I tried it a second and final time. A giant rainbow-colored radio wavelength came through the wall of the apartment and tried to carry me off with it to infinity, calling "come with me, come with me to infinity!"

But I just knew if I let go of the arm of the sofa and let the wavelength carry me away, I would be gone forever and never come back and never stop tripping. But it was getting harder and harder to hold onto the sofa arm because the sofa kept sliding across the floor and even ending up on the ceiling. The singer on the record that was playing was repeating the same line over and over like the record was skipping, and the clock had long ago melted off the wall.

I remember wanting to call everyone I knew right that very second and tell them the wavelength was gonna get me and to never, ever do acid.

Yeah, I don't need that shit. Nobody needs to be that high, and if you do, there have got to be better drugs that that. I was 21 then. And very, very dumb.

To some extent I agree. The basic idea is you have liberty to do what you want so long as you don't infringe on my liberty and freedom or otherwise harm me or someone else.

The problem is they fail to see obvious harms. Abortion clearly harms someone else - which is why the Paul's are pro-life despite being the most well known libertarians in politics. Prostitution creates a lot of harms that is born out in society every time it is legalized.

The Rule Of Law is the Great Equalizer. A true Libertarian and Conservative would agree.

Another place where a true Conservative and a true Libertarian would agree is opposition to a Big Central Government, whether federal or at the state level.

"Libertarians" today are full of shit who co-opted the political label. Their ideology is Leftist when they start talking about their positions in detail, (see: Johnson, Gary and Weld, Bill).

363 There was a Judicial Watch report on this that came out a while back. They had it all put together. The foreign press had stories, one big one was ship full of weapons headed for Syria that docked in a Turkish port.

Chris Stevens was an "operator", CIA type, and he was making deals about this crap, dealing with all sorts of gofo type. One of those deals went bad, and that was the Benghazi attack.

It was a colossal fuckup of American foreign policy, covert style. And both parties want to keep the true nature of it quiet. Gowdy was on a leash about the true nature of Benghazi.

Open borders though? Ask the Western Roman Empire how that worked out.

Posted by: 18-1 at August 02, 2016 05:37 PM (X7E8f)

I'm all for open borders. They could work great.

However, it would only work if there was a strict law about who was a citizen and who was a resident alien.

The law would have to be ingrained into the constitution so that there would be no chance of a "slippery slope" to citizenship for the aliens.

They can live here, work here, buy products and pay taxes on the purchases, but they wouldn't be citizens and wouldn't get the services citizens do.

It would be a totally separate class system. You're either in or out, and out would really suck.

Being a citizen would be great, because you would have all these aliens working and paying for services that only go to citizens.

If the liberals want to buy into that kind of "open borders" arrangement, I'm all for it.

I have a conspiracy theory and it's about the Joos but it's not as if I blame them for it. I think universal snippage in America is a post-WWII phenomenon.

I think it came about because of the preponderance of Joos amond doctors and them saying we're not going to be singled out any more by just dropping our pants. Everyone is going to look the same.

I do think of it as ritual genital mutilation. I was snippy snippied in 1960 because of that.

But a true conservative (using it losely) is much more comfortable with bigger state government than big federal government. At least the state has plenary power that the federal government lacks. My son's was done by a very good friend of mine who was also a surgeon. He was, ironically, a nominal Muslim from Yemen. My son's mother insisted we have a 'real' surgeon perform the procedure, and he was the only one I knew.

Looking back on it, it was, for us, the right decision. Dr. S was the man for the job, and he was honored that we'd entrust him with the responsibility.

The big problem with libertarians is that they put the cart before the horse with drug legalization. I forget the poll, but 60% of welfare recipients admitted to being daily marijuana smokers, and they're just the ones who admitted to it, you know the real number is higher. How is it "maximizing liberty" to take half of my pay to give it to assholes that just want to sit around getting high all day? If you want to legalize drugs, fine. But end the welfare state first.

I was actually going to shut up my bakery and go on vacation, but I didn't want to risk the jail time involved in saying no to anyone.

So what are we saying? God designed dicks wrong? They need some snipping?

I got snipped and if I understand things correctly the glans should be moist like gums and not dry like, well, a snipped glans.

I am glad I didn't let that happen to my boys.

Circumcised infant boys only very rarely get UTIs. Uncircumcised infant boys get them at far higher rates than infant girls and are far more likely to be hospitalized and even die from those infections.

It didn't see worth the risk to my boys when they were born just to preserve a little skin.

553 Libertarianism is one of the things that sounds great to a teenager or perhaps a young adult-

cuz no more Mom and Dad telling me what to do!

Wheeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!

But, it's got no organizing principle behind it.

To have a society with as few laws as possible,

you have to have a bunch of moral people with great self-control.

People don't spontaneously erupt into moral teens or adults. It takes a lot of time and effort and a stable, civil society to raise children into that kind of adult.

The feral kids with a complete lack of self-control that you see in the ghettos would be the result of a libertarian society.

And whose morality is to be the model?

Right now, we're actually undergoing a libertarian-style experiment by dumping a ton of muslims who believe it's just hunky-dory to kill infidels into our society (yay! open borders)-

how's that working out?

"Do as you will" is a nice little pipe dream for teens but it's hardly a stable or even desirable matrix for a functioning society.

That's what Las Vegas is for. All they need to do is add pot and drugs into the mix and poof! Libertarian paradise.

600 There is actually not a consensus on circumcision amongst the experts. They agree that it reduces UTIs and HPV caused cancer, I think, but some argue that benefit is small and not worth the risk.

There's a 1.5% complication rate for infants, and somewhat higher for older boys.

They do have accidents, including cutting off the penis. There was a famous case of this back in the 60s or 70s. The fashionable psychological belief back then was that gender was mostly a social construct, with a few hormonal differences.

Well, this little baby boy had his little dick cut-off, so some eminent genius decided, hell, we'll just make him a girl. It's easier to make something like looks like a vulva that reconstruct a penis surgically, at least back then, so that's what they did.

Raise him as a girl, and he'll be a girl and never know the difference. We'll give "her" hormones at puberty.

That experiment failed miserably.

616 I've been peddling conspiracy theories here for awhile, including that the real action was (1) with the Foundation's pay-for-play, not the e-mails per se, and (2) with how Benghazi was a gun-running front.

I've started reading the new book on TWA 800 by Jack Cashill. I've gotten far enough to be convinced that the investigation was spiked to ignore hundreds of eye witness accounts that differ 180 degrees from the official account.

With most of the book still to go, I can see that one of the takeaways is that the Clintons wanted to bury whatever the real cause was in the run-up to the 1996 election. So they got away with this, then they got away with Monica, etc etc. And they may get away with a lot of other things now pending. They must believe themselves invincible.

Today I discovered the "FBI guy on 4chan." Now that is some serious rabbit hole shit.

So my question, in light of all that's going on, how much tinfoil hat should you wear.

Without going full Illuminati, try to explain the co-ordination going on between the Hillary campaign and major media right now. Is it crazy to infer that Murdoch's kicking Ailes out right now isn't happenstance (if he's been diddling the Fox blondes, he's been doing it for years and Murdoch must have known about it)?

617 The government will soon be forcing each football team's captain to make love to the hottest lady boy in high school. And ejaculate inside "her" hot tight pooper. And really mean it.

Wait. Not that's not true. They're are no hot lady boys. If they're hot they got to be chicks.

Right?

620 I am a libertarian, but would never join the libertarian party. Problem with the libertarian party is that they set forth principles and then don't follow them. They state that they believe in free markets and private property rights but then insist on open borders. How can you protect private property rights when you have open borders?

621 Most Catholics I know are circumcised.

Anyway, I was so my kids were.
Posted by: SH at August 02, 2016 06:01 PM (gmeXX)

Interesting, because stories I've read about the anti-circumcision movement, gym and college shower glances, and what my wife's brothers (one side Catholic, other side Baptist) tell me have led me to believe the opposite.

Perhaps it's a regional thing or perhaps it's because my wife's family is Hispanic, though they've been in Texas since the 1930s or before.

I can't believe I'm having this conversation. However, I know to never underestimate horde knowledge.

622 478 And ZeroHedge has an article up about Congresswoman Judy Chu, D. She's been some amazing trades. They looked at her disclosure filing, and she's been making some damn good puts and calls.

It can be done if you have some good math skills and some serious self-discipline. I make my living trading options and I'm just beginning to dip my toe into the futures market (not much difference).

I had a good mentor. Without him teaching me some good principles and me sticking to them religiously, I would be losing money.

As for Judy Chu, I'm betting insider information, just like with Hillary turning $1,000 into $100,000 with a few cattle future trades. Such things just don't happen.

623 The "FBI Guy of 4chan" rabbit hole Ignoramus mentioned: http://___ur.com/a/lFHx3

If its bullshit, it's well-crafted bullshit.

624 The GOP is the closest to libertarian of any party. It's just they're full of stupid cowards... :-(

Posted by: setnaffa at August 02, 2016 08:17 PM (jl6Ly)

625 Normally I would vote libertarian or Constitution party but not this year.

Posted by: Shiggz at August 02, 2016 08:52 PM (G7wcY)

626 A significant number of libertarians are actually libertines, with the same motivation as anarchists, fellow travelers of idealistic socialist non-thinkers, who believe you can design a world around idealized humans, with the incentive that they personally can get what they really want if only everyone would let them. Be it the socialist who wants to be able to go to the beach everyday without working, the "libertarian" who wants nothing more than pot and free love, or the anarchist who thinks they'd be able to take what they want, when they're such non-competitive losses that they can't earn it any other way. Do they really think they'd be at the top of the food chain? They'd be slaves.

627 These guys are fine with libertarian results obtained by Statist coercion.

Meh.

628 And Ace goes in for the stupid...

"This "libertarian" sure seems pretty authoritarian"

"Authoritarian" is the most bullshit word in political discourse today. It's FUCKING Government! It's what they do. It's ALL they do.

Tell me all about the races Gary Johnson won as a "Libertarian"? Any?

Gary Johnson has _never_ been a "Libertarian". He was simply the latest Republican that can't win as a Republican recruited for his "name".

See also "Bob Barr 2008".

Let's vote for the Democratic authoritarians named Trump and Clinton

629 I can't believe I have to say this to an "intelligent" person...

"Government is somebody holding a gun to your head until you do what he says." Period. Full stop.
