There is a point to be made in there, but this was a STUPID way to make the point. What I think is wrong, actually unconstitutional, is forcing private citizens to make accommodations for others' religions.
Example: Company provides a service to the public. Requires employees to wear a uniform (with hat) and its male employees to be clean shaven. Male Sikh employee complains that his religion requires him to wear a turban and not shave. Female Muslim employee wants to wear a scarf. Male Jewish employee wants to wear a yarmulke. All claim religious rights, threaten to sue if not accommodated.
The owner of the business should not be required to run his business according to others' religious beliefs. If he wants all his employees to wear his company uniform to present the public with the image he is trying to promote, that should be his right. If others don't want to work there under those circumstance, that's their right.

On a related note, I intend to never again set foot in Colorado. Yes, the state has always been fairly overrun with tourists (I should know, having toured the place several times), but it was also possible to find one's way off the beaten path, so to speak. Not anymore. The damned dope smokers have overtaken everything, everywhere.

That doesn't work. It's a myth. It can make you very ill. I was a cocktail waitress and 2 fat hogathas would take up a table all nigh drinking water until some dumbass would buy them a drink. They'd order Long Island ice teas.
The bartender hated them, he put visine in their drinks and didn't tell me. They never ran to the bathroom.
This was pre internet so we couldn't check. I denounce myself for my part.

Totally Gentile here, and I got snipped shortly after I was born. Back in 1960, it was standard procedure, and it should be now.
Dad was snipped, too, though I don't know when. His parents were poor and he was born at home and I doubt it happened before birth. He joined the Navy in WWII and circumcision worked like this in the armed forces:

3) Non-Jews got to watch movies of what sexually-transmitted diseases look like and were told that circumcision provided some protection. Next, the nice officer told the enlistees that much of this, as well as other problems, can be prevented with a little snip-snip and they'd have a few days of light duty to recuperate.
4) Most enlistees opted to become honorary Jews.

So my general viewpoint is that laws prohibiting something within a certain distance from schools are bad policy and unconstitutional (my idea of taking is broader than most people's). And if we believe something should not be sold near a school, then it probably shouldn't be sold at all.

To some extent I agree. The basic idea is you have liberty to do what you want so long as you don't infringe on my liberty and freedom or otherwise harm me or someone else.
The problem is they fail to see obvious harms. Abortion clearly harms someone else - which is why the Paul's are pro-life despite being the most well known libertarians in politics. Prostitution creates a lot of harms that is born out in society every time it is legalized.

I'm all for open borders. They could work great.
However, it would only work if there was a strict law about who was a citizen and who was a resident alien.
The law would have to be ingrained into the constitution so that there would be no chance of a "slippery slope" to citizenship for the aliens.
They can live here, work here, buy products and pay taxes on the purchases, but they wouldn't be citizens and wouldn't get the services citizens do.
It would be a totally separate class system. You're either in or out, and out would really suck.
Being a citizen would be great, because you would have all these aliens working and paying for services that only go to citizens.
If the liberals want to buy into that kind of "open borders" arrangement, I'm all for it.

There used to be fairly sound reasons - primarily hygienic - for the near-universality of the practice.
(See, Uncle Sam's health movies.....)
These days, there's less of a rationale for the procedure, except on religious grounds.
My son's was done by a very good friend of mine who was also a surgeon. He was, ironically, a nominal Muslim from Yemen. My son's mother insisted we have a 'real' surgeon perform the procedure, and he was the only one I knew.
Looking back on it, it was, for us, the right decision. Dr. S was the man for the job, and he was honored that we'd entrust him with the responsibility.

Just the opposite, which I learned when I was about 6 and participating in a, um, contest on a wall with a Catholic kid and another Protestant kid about the same age.
I noticed that one thing was not like the other two and was distressed enough to ask my parents why the Catholic kid was different. They gently explained circumcision to me in the best way that a 6-year old could understand.
Since then, I've learned that basic maintenance is more difficult for the uncircumcised and that circumcision has other benefits as well.

Circumcised infant boys only very rarely get UTIs. Uncircumcised infant boys get them at far higher rates than infant girls and are far more likely to be hospitalized and even die from those infections.
It didn't see worth the risk to my boys when they were born just to preserve a little skin.

Hey Cheri... the wax really is a reasonable suggestion. It will keep the inside of your mouth from getting cut up from the rough surface, maybe keep the broken pieces together and serve as a barrier to keep the air off of any exposed nerve.

There's a 1.5% complication rate for infants, and somewhat higher for older boys.
They do have accidents, including cutting off the penis. There was a famous case of this back in the 60s or 70s. The fashionable psychological belief back then was that gender was mostly a social construct, with a few hormonal differences.
Well, this little baby boy had his little dick cut-off, so some eminent genius decided, hell, we'll just make him a girl. It's easier to make something like looks like a vulva that reconstruct a penis surgically, at least back then, so that's what they did.
Raise him as a girl, and he'll be a girl and never know the difference. We'll give "her" hormones at puberty.
