In all three of these cases, nobody knows who did it or why. But they were taken as proof of "systemic racism" at the university, and protesters howled for Wolfe’s resignation. Throughout the case, Wolfe issued condemnations of racism, acknowledgements of the justice of the protester’s cause, and apologies for not seeming to take them seriously enough--which, as we should know by now, are all the signs that he’s doomed and will eventually be forced to resign. Wolfe was targeted, as one protest group put it, because he was "'not completely' aware of systemic racism, sexism, and patriarchy on campus." I love the "not completely." It reminds me of the old rule about totalitarian revolutions: first, you go after the counter-revolutionaries, then you go after the insufficiently enthusiastic. So Wolfe had to be removed for failing to show immediate and total compliance toward their political agenda.He notes this, both about Mizzou and the Yale obscenity:

At least the idea has been put into play.

I don't know what specifically set off the confrontation, though; some of the protesters were already hacked off at the press for getting too close. (They were getting too close because the area counts as a free speech zone, and no one designated as a student dormitory zone, but hey--technicality.)

End all breadth requirements in the wussy fields. The only required courses should be math or what's required by your major or math.
A lot of schools require H&SS courses AND "diversity requirements". (Your Peruvian computer science professor is not diversity, your latino Latino Studies professor from Park Slope, Brooklyn is.)
The "diversity requirements" are full-on SJW.
Now, it's tough to attack "diversity" (which is academia's code word for affirmative action) but it's easier to bash fields for being too easy and too high school.
The humanities and social sciences had their day and they couldn't manage to maintain any standards at all, having degenerated to the point when a major state university will hire someone whose research area is Martha Stewart and Lady Gaga. End them.

As a graduate student and teaching assistant at Mizzou, I am really afraid I will lose my job in the near future. Others in my department (History) have been talking about mandatory trigger warnings in the syllabi for a while, and oppression theory/postmodernism is widespread. The truth is quite the opposite. For at least 30 years, black students have organized and had a very, very vocal presence on campus. Everyone else has walked on eggshells upon pain of being accused of discrimination or racial insensitivity. The most innocent utterance was routinely used as a reason to take offense. Her "research," silly as it is, is not productive. She hasn't published since 2013. This is the Ward Churchill plan. You accuse administration of untenuring you by violating your academic freedom and first amendment rights (ironically, in Click's case).
If you want to fire her by April, just zero out her department. Everybody is gone (including the tenured professors) and you can keep who you like, sending them to another department like English or journalism.

They used Obama's own words against him. Cited a remark Obama made to an illegal alien heckler at a speech. Obama told him "what you're ignoring is that I just made a change to the law" (that the heckler was complaining about). LOL. Apparently Obama was absent that day in law school when they taught that it is the legislature, and not the president, who gets to change the laws.
The court also said, in a footnote, that it was using the correct term "illegal alien" to describe foreigners unlawfully present in the U.S., and not the silly euphemisms like "undocumented immigrant" and other lefty gobbledygook.

Easy now. I'm a native (Cape Girardeau/Bootheel area) and the people in my neck of the woods are very level-headed and respectable. Heck, my home county split something like 72/28 for Romney in 2012, in an area still very suspicious of Mormons. Even in mid-Missouri, if you drive 15-20 miles from the MU campus in any direction, you'll find yourself in some very red counties. It's just KC, STL, and Columbia that screw us over, nothing more, so just carpet bomb those places, please. (Although go a bit easy on St. Louis, I would still like to catch a Cardinals game now and then.)

I attacked the diversity requirement by pointing out how narrow it was.
I was a theology minor. I wanted to take comparative Asian religions, a 300 level course.
I was told: No, I could take an African-American Studies Course, a Woman's studies course, or "Jerusalem: A city of 3 Faiths."
I pointed out this was patently absurd. Especially given that I'm one of the 3 faiths in the latter.
I was told that I couldn't take an Asian religions course because it wasn't approved since "people who are those religions might take it."
I asked "what about the women in the women's studies, or the African-Americans in the AA studies?"
I was told by a dean to not ask questions.
I won my exemption, but the requirement still sits (although I think they removed the Jerusalem course as an option.)

The amount of coddling that goes on at my job is astonishing, especially since I have to participate or else risk losing my job.
It used to be enough to show up and do your job, but nowadays the company has to pretend to be invested in your future and your development. It isn't, of course, but the mechanics you have to suffer through as the farce plays out are really, really irritating.

Been reading about Ireland Baldwin. Boy is she screwed up. Lately, there are photos were she obviously high as a kite. Last year, there was a bizarre story where she had an operation (she really OD'd), was in rehab for emotional problems (rehab is for drug detox), and she was attacked by 3 unknown males for no apparent reason (she does not pay her drug dealers).
Not sure how all the lying ultimately helps her.

Not only that, but this case has now been turned over to the FBI based on new details about the websites he visited before the attack and how he was dressed during the attack:

I'm not ready to go that far ... where we blame ourselves. But I do believe that college sports is a net negative on the university system because college sports are the prime reasons why people associate with colleges (and usually people who are not on the radical left).
If this is the way universities are going, then I really do not have much of a desire to watch them (unless of course my team is doing well).

If they're enforcing, uh, alternative laws through alternative judicial proceedings, they should lose their ability to enforce actual laws through the actual court system and the state police should be called in to enforce criminal laws on the campus.
That's AMAZING to me that no one thinks that that is weird that the police are saying "call us if you want us to expel a student for hurting your feelings."
That's not in any way the role of agents of the government who we give exclusive use of force to -- namely the police.

Actually, these "protests" are based on the same thing that those in the 60s were - against their parents, mostly their fathers. That's all a lot of leftist hate boils down to. Now things like intro writing classes, the teaching of history, war, music, and antique languages are also necessary to civilization, but maybe if we created special colleges that bright students can enter after being taught the rudiments of a trade, as everyone should be required to complete a junior apprenticeship before studying other subjects, but this should not be based on age. A veteran plumber, firefighter, soldier, mason, etc... who desires less physical labor and feels themselves ready can attend before being admitted to the Universities through comprehensive exams.
For other subjects, special seperate schools for dangerous subjects like religion and economics, and maybe art academies and technical schools for things like maritime officers, pilots, Etc...
All other necessary subjects can be moved to apprenticeships and night classes such as accounting, and law. As much as we might want to we can't get rid of them because of Adam's Sin of course, and since we are conservatives we know only The Lord Himself can remove attorneys and readmit us to Eden.
So burning the Universities would be a terrible idea, after all I know Engineering grad students who have to share offices and fight for lab space. Burning down perfectly sound structures seems very wasteful.

Most STEM classes can easily be done online (and free!) - save labs and such. There is really no need for the whole university system in today's world. One can study on his own with free course material, pay someone individually for tutoring the parts that he doesn't get, and take good, solid tests at independent test-taking companies to prove knowledge of the material. The whole physical university system is mostly an anachronism. Not totally, but mostly. Pretty much unnecessary in today's world - and too expensive to justify its existence, for sure.
The simplest demonstrative examples of this are the $300+ textbooks that students are forced to buy for courses whose material hasn't really changed in decades (if not a century in many cases) versus the ability to find perfectly good older textbooks or free information about the course (even better than in the textbooks) online.

I share your concern that college sports negatively feed the university system by giving it conservative support and actually hope that one day the two will be fully untethered (which does make me sad as well), but I can't go as far as you and tell people to stop watching. I just make the connection. I wish I could be like Ace and others here and give up TV - not just because it would give me some time back, but I'd feel better to not support institutions that clearly do not share my values. Not in that particular course, but yes I did have those kind of courses too.
But typically the books the professors wrote themselves were a lot cheaper then the mass-market books that change a few paragraph orders and release "new editions" each year (that you MUST buy. Don't try to show up for class with LAST YEARS EDITION)

Many good paying jobs don't need their programs. Computers, flying planes, plumbing, small businesses don't need them.
A fair number of jobs you could once get easily with a BA, like teaching say, now have licensing reqs thrown atop to keep people out, so even if you have a masters degree you still can't teach unless you have that states license.
So who's left on the campuses, really? Idiots, people who got hornswoggled, and people who can see what a dead end trap they walked in to.

Ya know, Moo Moo, it's the darndest thing. When I go to stay with my mother, she never watches sports so I watch what she watches. And when we go to our vacation cabin, there's no TV at all. And when I go away for a weekend trip to a scenic locale, I don't sit in my hotel room and watch sports. And yet, amazingly, when I come back home, wouldn't you know it? There's that dang football or basketball or whatever - still on. Yep. Despite my non-watching, it seems to go on and on without me. So I'm surmising that perhaps, just perhaps, if I turn on the Wisconsin game this Saturday or if I don't , it doesn't mean a hill of beans.

Actually, the news is that the previous benchmark of <130 is wrong and we need to strive for <120 as there was a large difference in survival rate.
That said, they're not releasing the data so who knows what's really going on.
Easier for the heart to push blood around you're body == less strain on heart and said blood vessels thus increasing you're probable life span.
I believe personally that the lower you're heart rate is also helps. (not TOO low but lower than say about 60bpm.
That also means a longer lived heart and a longer lived heart means a longer lived YOU!
