I got news for you.
There is a whole cohort of current voters who weren't even alive in 1992. . .and they're young ones who are mostly inclined to vote for Democrats.
So yes, this kind of thing actually does matter. Her last name may be "Clinton" but she still has to assemble some sort of coalition if she wants to win the Dem nomination, then a broader one if she wants to win the election.
If she's starting out of the block losing some of her traditional "base" that's potentially a big handicap. Remember, the Dems love the new "shiny" politician (eg look who's in the White House now).

Yes, the Dems have their constituency, and the GOP has its. Elections are won/lost not by convincing the unconvinceable (ie the Romney 47%), but instead by convincing the SMALL number in the middle who can be convinced, and mostly by motivating your side to actually get off their ass and vote.
Sure, no matter who it is, 40-some percent will pull the trigger for anyone with a "D", but that hardly makes them invulnerable.

IE, "Completely without my knowledge, my underlings were doing a whole bunch of things illegally in my name while I was Secretary of State" isn't exactly a great way to inspire confidence in her potential role as POTUS.
Honestly, I don't even think she wants to be POTUS, but running for same is just a great way to keep collecting money and attention. Its a very old ploy. As long as she's running (let alone "the frontrunner") then she's relevant , and the bribes. . .er "donations" keep flooding in.

Biden *did* want to be POTUS, and has run several times. So by all rights he "should" be running now. The problem, is, of course, that's he demented (I mean that in the literal sense of the term. . .he appears to have cognitive decline), and he's also more strongly tied to the loser Obama administration than Hilary is.

Yes but, none of that comes without power and influence or the perception of power and influence. A Clinton in the WH and control of the Dem. party ends it for him.
