NYT Boycotting Holder's Off-the-Record Briefing On, Um, Press Freedom

This administration takes freedom of the press very seriously.

No, you're not alowed to quote me on that.

Yes, Holder's briefing on the "unfettered" right of the press to report the truth was/is to be off-the-record, no quotes permitted.

The New York Times has declared it would be "inappropriate" to attend, given those restrictions.

Other media groups may follow.

Here's a question that perplexes me: How can every other reporter or news organization be so beta, always needing the New York Times to make their decisions for them?

[Update JohnE.] Here's the Democrat Party's Communications Director:

Are you F'in kidding me? The balls. The balls.

OT but late in thread so okay (from the Weekly Standard):

White House spokesman dodged questions today about whether Attorney

General Eric Holder told the truth when testifying in front of Congress.

The questions arise amid new developments in the story of the Justice

Department's snooping on Fox News reporter James Rosen. "I would refer you to the Justice Department," says Carney.

Wow, they're cutting him loose already.

Why are reporters so beta?

Damn, look at them. The entire industry is about betas communicating what the alphas they secretly wish to be are doing. Communications majors start off shallow and beta. The rest of the time they follow people around to report on them hoping to get some starfucking scraps. This is true of the paparazzi and the mainstream political reporters. At least the paparazzi is honest about themselves.

Alphas matter. The truth is, deep down, they realize they don't and resent us for it. That's why they like institutionalized aristocracy.

68 A comprehensive report conducted by the Federal Highway Administration found that the presence of red light cameras at traffic intersections increased the likelihood of rear-end crashes by 14.9 percent and the number of injuries in traffic intersections by 24 percent. Red light cameras also do little to prevent “T-bone” accidents, where the side of one vehicle is impacted by the front or rear of another vehicle, as those accidents often occur when the driver is not paying attention, and not simply disregarding a red light.

I shall have you know I have a house and live on it's second floor (the basement is unfinished.)I actually have a friend who occasionally lurks here who lives in his own basement. Not his parents, his as in he owns the house. He put his bed down there during some renovations and decided he likes it because it's larger than the master bedroom and has a bathroom off it as well (plus he saves on heating and cooling the whole house.)

AP reports DOJ monitored 1000′s of calls and far more than 20 phone lines.

“Associated Press president and chief executive Gary Pruitt told
staff at a Wednesday town hall meeting that the phone records obtained
by the government included “thousands and thousands” of calls in and out
of the news organization, according to a staffer who attended.

Pruitt said Wednesday that the Obama administration acted as “judge,
jury and executioner” in secretly obtaining the news organization’s
records, a criticism he also leveled in a recent appearance on CBS’
“Face the Nation.”
