This guy collects some of the hateful dance-on-your-grave tweets from the left. I was just making the point on Twitter that even in death, especially in death, the left makes Andrew Breitbart's case for him. They never seemed to understand that while the right is his audience, the left itself is his most potent ally -- they prove everything he says with each hateful remark, each "ur a fag why don't you get AIDS and die" tweet. The left makes all of his arguments for him. All Breitbart had to do was add two letters: "RT" [re-tweet]. The left had a chance to prove Andrew Breitbart wrong today. Instead, they proved him right. Even in death, Andrew Breitbart makes the stupid hate-bag puppets dance for his amusement, and for ours. I thought at first his death was a punking. In a way, it is. He continues punking the left into exposing exactly what it is.

yeah we're hearing now he had heart problems last year.
when I saw him he was on an atkins kick to get his weight down. he vowed he'd be so svelte that even I would want to fuck him.
We had had all-you-can-eat-barbecue. I feel kind of bad about that but he was using the high protein diet to slim down.

His FIL (Orson Bean, btw) said he had some heart issues last year.
He was outside walking in his neighborhood late at night and collapsed. Someone saw that happen and called paramedics but it was too late.

. He went to the doc for a physical prior to a camping trip with our son.He had a 90% blockage of a major artery. The stent saved his life. Doctor said he would have come home from the campout in a box.

I'm fucking heart broken over this.
Obviously my thoughts are with his family and children, but his loss to the movement cannot be overstated.
This man was our future when it come to the media. I don't see where we go from here without him.
I know people are saying they will pick up the sword or carry the torch, but let's face it, they're all lesser lights.
History is filled with example of great men of ability. However, they are few and far between. Andrew was probably the best we had to offer in this area and he's gone.
He was the only conservative taking the media on at their own game. He was the owner of one of the few conservative outlets that was actually doing investigative journalism. Who broke the ACORN scandal, the Pigford Scandal, and was probably the main catalyst behind the Weiner scandal.
I'm lost. Where do we go from here?

I met him once last year. (during the book tour, I think it was April or May). As he was signing my book, I told him I was one of the regulars over at AoSHQ. He perked up immediately and said he loved this place. He asked me who I posted as. I was a little reluctant to say, because...well, you know, Jeff B. and all. In fact, I figured he might not even know who I was, which would be even worse. He totally did. He literally laughed out loud when I told him, and said that he thought I was great, that I totally needed to keep banging away from my end of things, and not to worry about the abuse. "Badge of honor" he said. Said it just like that. Drawn out words, no verb: "BADGE. OF. HONOR" as he pounded my book for emphasis.
I dunno, maybe he was just being nice and he thought I was a putz. But ever since that day I've kind of felt good about all the time I've wasted around here.

He chased them all away, but of the top 10 at least half of them are here, some daily, some only occasionally. Others went on and started their own blogs. I just saw the news a little while ago about Breitbart. My eyes teared up and it took me a little while to get a grip. Andrew was truly an inspiration to me.
I live in a liberal area in Iowa, and after watching Breitbart over the last couple of years, I decided to no longer restrain myself in ridiculing the Left, even when in the company of my Lefty friends. They can accept it or leave. We can all carry a part of the torch that Andrew wielded by himself. That can be his legacy. A strengthened, proud, vocal, confrontational, aggressive, and united Right.

As I posted earlier there is now a gaping void where AB stood. Several comments have borrowed "we are Breitbart" from Spartacus. If there is even sliver of truth to that then we can allow for our sorrow without being staggered.
There can't be any excuses going forward as the vicious trolling today has highlighted, this shit has just started getting real. Everything that we hold precious is at stake and the takers are pounding on the door.
Breitbart got that and willingly and cheerfully fought the good fight. Hopefully his light will be remembered as the pilot.

Because President Obama was black, and because Breitbart believed in using every and any weapon at hand, Breitbart’s politics did inevitably become racially coded. Breitbart’s memory will always be linked to his defamation of Shirley Sherrod and his attempt to make a national scandal out of back payments to black farmers: the story he always called “Pigford” with self-conscious resonance.
Yet it is wrong to see Breitbart as racially motivated. Had Breitbart decided he hated a politician whose ancestors came over on the Mayflower, Breitbart would have been just as delighted to attack that politicians with a different set of codes. The attack was everything, the details nothing.
This indifference to detail suffused all of Breitbart’s work, and may indeed be his most important and lasting legacy. Breitbart sometimes got stories right (Anthony Weiner). More often he got them wrong (Sherrod). He did not much care either way. Just as all is fair in a shooting war, so manipulation and deception are legitimate tools in a culture war. Breitbart used those tools without qualm or regret, and he inspired a cohort of young conservative journalists to do likewise.
In time, Andrew Breitbart might have aged into greater self-control and a higher concept of public service. Premature death deprived him of the chance at redemption often sought and sometimes found by people who have done wrong in their lives and work.
And this is where it becomes difficult to honor the Roman injunction to speak no ill of the dead. It’s difficult for me to assess Breitbart’s impact upon American media and American politics as anything other than poisonous. When one of the leading media figures of the day achieves his success by his giddy disdain for truth and fairness—when one of our leading political figures offers to his admirers a politics inflamed by rage and devoid of ideas—how to withhold a profoundly negative judgment on his life and career?

For years I sat in frustration, feeling like I was part of the losing side. The GOP establishment seemed more interested in looking like they weren't bad people as opposed to doing the right thing and vocalising why it was correct. It was too difficult, too fraught with peril, I guess. We were a cadre of milquetoasts, with our Jello-spined leaders happily leading the retreat, thinking somehow in the arena their weakness was a win.
They never thought WHY we won when we won. We won with people like Ronald Reagan, who first and foremost wasn't an apologist; who called the USSR out when academics and the intelligensia of the US were comfortable with their existence. We won when we had a bold plan, the Contract with America, that wasn't Lib Lite (tm), but real ideas for reform that were championed loudly and clearly.
Andrew knew this and he lived it in every tweet, every speech, every interview. He didn't let the left circle the wagons without pelting them with arrows and Molotovs; he didn't back down from enemies but faced them, energised by the fight, by being engaged. He saw all the ways we were weak and he tried to remedy them. He dragged us kicking and screaming into a new media world for the Republican/Libertarian cause and he did it as your mom make you take Cod Liver Oil for your own good. He dug where no man has dug before and he pushed like no one on the right had pushed in a long time and the left despises him for that. They are soft, and cushioned by airbags and marshmallows and Andrew would puncture their defences and slice through their shields and expose theblack emptiness of the liberal ideology, and he relished every thrust, parry and swipe.
How could someone be so happy in the midst of such a great battle for the future of America, for her very soul perhaps? How could he find so much energy year after year, even while he saw thousands of tweets wishing him death, illness and all bad manner of things? Because he knows we are right; that living in freedom and fighting to preserve it is the highest calling one can have and I think he felt blessed to be a part of it, to be the man in the arena, covered in blood, yelling, "Is this all you've got?"
God he will be missed. Let's not forget this; lets not allow ourselves to put this grief and dismay on a shelf and allow it to atrophy, to dessicate. He never would; he would rekindle the fight in his heart day after day, fight after fight. Every day after to-day should be for Andrew.

Like many of you this morning, the kick in cooter I felt after reading of Andrew's demise is beyond articulating with mere words.
I forced myself to go andread some of the left's hate this morning. Nothing like showing your true colors lefties, well done. I think Andrew would want conservatives to make this a teachable moment.
Let us find all those vile, disgusting, hate filled things our side said about Gabby Giffords when she was shot. Oh, that's right, there were none. She was Debbie ToiletWaterHair-Skankhername's best friend, but nobody, and I mean NOBODY, defended the lunatic who shot her.True, we did heap it on the MFM for their hypocrisy when they tried to pin it on the tea party, but that was well deserved.
Let us remember to contrast the way we reacted to a near tragedy to one of theirs; to the ugliness we have already started to see today. Why don't we do that next time they (the deciders)start lecturing us on the need for civility. I for one, am done trying to reason with these hate filled people.
Let us start with the completion of ABO this Novemberto honor our fallen friend.
One last thing. I'm guessing Ace probably knew the guy, so my condelences for your loss too buddy. I did not have the privilege of knowing Andrew, but itfelt like I lost a member ofmy family today.

I loved this guy as much as I love anyone I see on the TV. I laughed hysterically when he took over the Weiner press conference. I stood up and cheered over his CPAC speech this year. No single person's death from TV has impacted me like this since the death of Tony Snow.
All I can simply say is two words: Fight on. Do it for our country. He showed many the way to do it, he wrote the playbook. I have to believe, as I am an optimist in any fight, that he showed others what he had and when to show it.
