For Congress: Andy Harris, MD-1

Doctor, Navy man, husband, father, and strong advocate for free markets and free citizens.

Can he win? Well, he's within three points of the socialist incumbent. And the thing is, he sorta did win last time -- except his "Ruling Class Right" primary opponent, an incumbent he defeated, got vengeance by endorsing the Democrat challenger.

And even in that Obama wave year, he still only lost by two and a half thousand votes.

He's kind of being screwed over again this year, as the US Chamber of Congress is, of course, supporting his opponent. With foreign money, doubtless.

Dan Riehl explains that this is why he's in such a bloodletting mood against the establishment.

And this does seem to be a pattern, doesn't it? From write-in campaigns, to running as independents, to endorsing the Democratic challenger -- the ruling class establishment seems to be its own party with its own membership and its own interests, and official party label doesn't seem to matter that much to them.

1 Yeah, he's in my back yard, one county over, but I can't imagine how he loses. His opponent, Kravitol has been on the endangered list since last year.

5 I take offense to the DE/MD mix up.

Also, "538" has Andy Harris as the 20th Dem seat most likely to flip. Put is this way, if Harris loses this race, then the GOP likely won't win the house.

Its in the bag.

Yes. It's hard to understand. Even Nixon knew not to be a spoilsport when Chicago handed the election to Kennedy. He was smart enough to bide his time. These people aren't, and it's stunning. They're closing-out their chances of running again someday.
Interesting the pattern is the RINO-types are the ones prone to do this. Someone was mentioning a few weeks ago (prolly Ace) that it proves they're really all about themselves. I think that was within the contet of a discussion aboutthe Florida Orange Man.

The Dems don't take kindly to Republican congressman in Maryland. An Ehrlich victory would give Republicans more control over redistricting than they've had in 75 years.

21 I had an interesting conversation with some relatively intelligent sorta non-political types who have a background with libs yet homeschool. Those type of people whose values are conservative but who have been mainly exposed to libs. They asked me about the tea party. I told them about Joe Biden saying that "This is not your father's republican party." Damn straight it's not. The tea party who aren't just republicans are pissed. They are pissed at the spending, at the taxes, at the waste, at the healthcare, at being treated like shit, at being lied to, at the nonsense. That's who they are.
They asked me about Christine O'Donnell. I asked them what they knew about her? They said that she said she was a witch and against masterbation. I asked them if they knew where that came from and explained both comments and about Bill Maher. I told them that the tea party wasn't racist, in fact they were far less racist than the dems, that that was the liberal media trying to create an image. It has no leadership, it's the pissed off population who have had enough. That O'Donnell was about getting rid of Castle who voted with Pelosi. That Miller is great but he was also about getting rid of Mucowsky who voted with Pelosi. These "tea party" candidates were about getting rid of the bullshit. They seemed to get it. I don't know but I did my best while trying to sound reasonable and not using words like libdouche.

This was a maddening conversation to hear, maddening...there is still plenty of time and people should not be so cocky that they assume anything. If people keep talking out loud like that where others can hear they are going to make the doubters out there begin to believe the ones who say that the election won't be fair.

Palladino needs to pay google to be the very first palladino who comes up on google.

Also, people are starting to think that Palladino has just given up, that he was "the scapegoat in the race to make sure that Cuomo gets elected, like John McShame for BO"....honest to God, this was said to me by more than one person today, I almost got paranoid about it. It's damn near impossible to swing people from one side to another. It's often just best to stick to Dennis Prager's advice when speaking to friends, colleages, etc.: "Clarity over agreement."

The best you can do is to ask questions about their opinions and simply restate the principles of conservatism back. Calling out people for their sloppy mental processes by which they arrive at their opinions rarely works, even less for bleeding hearts.

Their single issue has been "Renew Today!" for years. Fuck the NRA. I give my money to GoA and SAF.

92 And I understand the NRA's position. I dislike it and find it annoying, but I do understand it
Bullshit. The NRA has gone Commie. You tell me why they support Socialist assholes.

93 Bullshit. The NRA has gone Commie. You tell me why they support Socialist assholes.I already did. There have been no new federalrestrictions on guns that I am aware of since Obama took office. Hell, they now let you carry in national parks - a bill Harry fucking Reid voted for. If all you care about is gun rights, the NRA's success record over the past year a half isn't all that bad. The problem is that this crop of Dems is so repugnant that the strategy looks less than sound for those of us who care about more than one of the Constitution's amendments.

95 Fuck the NRA.

The next time the NRA or CoC or NFIB sends one of its boys to appear on Hannity/Rush/Beck, they should be made to answer for every single one of these hideous endorsements. And then they should be told to Fuck Off.

Time for playin' is done.

96 Navycopyjoe,
I see elisted men wearing Chief's uniforms on AFN. Did the Chiefs finaly puss out because of PC. They used to be the backbone of the Navy.

98 Fuck Frank Kratovil.

And fuck Wayne Gilchrest too.

+5

If ever there was a motherfucker I wanted to run out of town on a rail, it was Gilchrest, the ass-covering, non-binding-resolution-supporting sellout.

Harris will win. Rob Fisher, his primary opponent, has endorsed him, and he's made the inroads into the Eastern Shore that he lacked in '08. Kratovil will have to find himself honest work by January.
