Democratic Mass Extinction Event: Hinchey, McCarthy, Maffei In Trouble

Is no one safe?

No not a soul. And also, not a Democrat, either.

CAC's doomsday scenario seems to be coming together.

Republican internal poll shows challenger for NY-4, Fran Becker, on the verge of taking out McCarthy.

Something about internal polls: I always figured they were bunk but Charlie Cook recently said he'd take many internal polls over media polls any day of the week. It depends on who's doing the poll, he said. Many media polls are awful and shoddy (I think he said 50% were "mediocre" and nearly as many simply bad), and internal polls, on the other hand, were by and large more serious.

Becker! By the way, he's a guy. One of those guy-Frans. So don't be alarmed when you see a dude.

An exclusive at Hot Air, meanwhile: former mayor Koch to endorse Maurice Hinchey's opponent, George Phillips, in the Binghamton area.

Phillips!

And Ann Marie Buerkle can win in NY-25 against Dan Maffei, who won in a GOP area in the 2008 Obama wave. But that wave is gone now and replaced by something... beautiful. And something... terrible.

Buerkle!

5 Mass extinction? Hardly. Fucking roaches are just getting moved out and will not actually become extinct. They will change into a fresh coat of lies and bullshit and begin the search for cracks leading back into power. And yes, the American People are stupid enough to let them. If it happened once, it will happen again. Extinction? I wish.

No.....because the campaigns spend real money on polls. They have to. And, more often, their polls are significantly more detailed because the campaigns need to know what issues are and are not working.
Worst polls, by the way, are newspaper polls. Newspapers spend no money on polling. They figure they need a poll, but really want it done on the cheap. So, they usually have a polling sample of around 350 or so, just enough not to appear to be worthless, but not enough to really matter.

Why the democrats are corruptocrats:

McCarthy(D)
got thousands of dollars in campaign checks from a lobbyist and his son
who've since been charged with funneling illegal cash to politicians.
At the same time the money was pouring in, McCarthy (D) sponsored millions
of taxpayer dollars in congressional 'earmarks' for some of the
lobbyist's clients, records show.

"Since 2007, the Long Island Democrat has steered $4.3 million
to two clients of the now-defunct PMA Group, a lobbying firm that
employed the recently indicted Paul Magliocchetti and his son, Mark.
The Magliocchettis were charged Aug. 4 for what federal prosecutors in
Alexandria, Va., say were illegal campaign contributions made from at
least 2003 through 2008."

37 Rush insisting that Coons is in trouble or Obama wouldn't be going there. He said it yesterday and then his opinion, he says, was reinforced by the reasons the WH gave for Obama heading to Delaware. Says he doesn't buy the double digit lead in the polls. Thinks it's crap. Sounds dubious at best to me but Rush does have a record of being right, oddly right when things appear to be just the opposite. I remain skeptical yet hopeful.

The wonderful thing is that the Republicans will win enough to pass common-sense policies through Congress -- and the American electorate will watch for two years as Obama vetoes bill after bill to prevent those common-sense policies from being enacted into law. Anyone who now only suspects Obama of being an America-hating socialist will be treated to objective proof that he is, in fact, an America-hating socialist.
It'll be so much fun to watch!!!

93 58 - I've noticed that too, Blumenthal signs are not always present, unless it is a yard truly stuffed with lawn art. It is heartening to drive from Woodbridge up to Bethany and be greeted at the border by a row of houses with Linda signs.

I would LOVE for Republicans to send bills we want over to President OVomit and have him continue to veto them. And then claim they're the party of "no." That'd be perfect.

No. And frankly, I no longer care. I hope she wins, but I am not that optimistic. My only point with my proposed wager is that there is a really good chance an incumbent Democratic Senator, with no scandal, is going to lose by at least 18 percentage points. Which is totally unheard of. In 1980, Reagan created a wave and got a lot of marginal candidates elected to the Senate. In 1986, 2/3rd of those candidates lost their bids for re-election, but most were able to keep it to single digits. Most incumbents, when they lose, do not get blown out...absent some horrible scandal. Yet, here is Blanche Lincoln, no scandal, no real glaring gaffe who is about to just get crushed. And while the MFM will yabber on about COD, Blanche Lincoln is about to get an historic ass kicking.
So, yes, I have adjusted my yardstick of win for COD. If she loses, but loses by less than Blank Stare, I consider it a win. What the hell, the Democrats are allowed to move the goal posts all the time, so can I.

Yeah. Obama's playing infinite dimensional chess while we're all playing fifty-two pick up. He wants to lose both house of congress because, because . . . Well, if I have to explain it, you can't understand it.

Seriously, I don't think that suicide is off the table for Obama. I'm not predicting that, I just think that it is possible. You have a guy with an absolutely gargantuan opinion of himself with absolutely nothing to back it up. He is getting ready to be slammed with the Mother of All Gobsmackings. He is so needy of adoration that twice since Friday he has spoken to predominantly black audience even though that is the one group that still supports him. (He could kill and eat a baby on national television and the blacks would still support him, particularly if it were a cracker baby.) Now he is casting his audience for his big MTV town hall meeting. This is a guy who needs to be worshiped and instead who is going to get a heaping helping of public humiliation. It won't be pretty.

156 Turd, you post on Zero Hedge as well by any chance?

Posted by: Vergeltung at October 12, 2010 03:21 PM (jttPx)

157 Nope

Posted by: Turd Ferguson at October 12, 2010 03:28 PM (f3vmC)

158 Turd Ferguson is from a SNL skit years ago with Norm MacDonald playing Burt Reynolds in a mock game of Celebrity Jeopardy. "Burt" antagonizes the host by demanding his name is "Turd Ferguson".

159 Save freedom, vote the donks out ....

Posted by: tarpon at October 12, 2010 04:02 PM (g0QB8)

160 Wow, so it is true McCarthy, the poor nurse who promised them anything and then gave them nothing might be beaten by Frannie Becker......woo hoooo.....wooo....hooooo

Know some people who got their absentee ballots already....

things are so interesting that the absentee ballot folks are being inundated with letters asking for their vote, polite, folksy nice letters apparently....but, not from the dems, which is a little surprising and shocking, considering the climate out there...

and these were republican incumbents....
