Vote Matt Burden (BLACKFIVE)

I spend a lot more time savaging politicians than supporting them, but I have to make an exception. Matt Burden, who is BLACKFIVE, is running for the Illinois State Assembly. I understand the altruistic reasons for doing so even as I wonder why he would want to wallow in that cesspool. But if good people don't, then the swine will continue to rob us blind. His announcement at B5 is here, and I urge all to support him.

1 A cause we need to support. Black 5 will be up to his neck in the sludge of Illinois politics but he can take it and then some. I hope this is a stepping stone to even greater things. Can we contribute to illinois house races even if we are out of state?

Are you kidding, of course you can.

3 Can we contribute to illinois house races even if we are out of state?

Sure, even if it's illegal, just set up your campaign web site to accept credit card donations without even the simplest and most basic of security restrictions. No one will mind.

8 Regardless of the outcome, it will be interesting to see if Matt can become a viable candidate.

It might even open the way for other individuals to do the same thing.

10 If every moron sent 5 or 10 bucks, (and we are a plethora of morons), I bet we could raise some real cash for him.

11 What the Hell would Illinois do with a GOOD politician? It is thus far unprecedented. Good luck, Matt!

12 Can we contribute to illinois house races even if we are out of state?

Yes you can! For help with this and other illegal acts, please visit one of our local offices. --Your local ACORN rep

(But seriously, yes. I believe the only requirement is U.S. citizenship.)

13 Illinois, where winning is a horrible prospect, too. Hope he's had his shots.

17 Hey, this is my district!

Bob "Bob" Biggins was pretty good; kinda sorry to see him retire. This is a fairly conservative district, with the exception of the college crowd in Elmhurst and the soccer moms in Hinsdale that reliably vote against their hard-workin' hubbies financial interests (but keep spending their money like water!). Tammy Duckworth couldn't beat Henry Hyde's successor Peter Roskam (who is kick-ass; guy votes just like I would), and I hope that whoever gets the nod to succeed Biggins as the Repub candidate gets elected. Mayor Daley controls the Donks in this state, and he dreams nightly of siphoning off more taxpayer loot from the rest of the state to fund his free-fire zone utopia.

18 Thanks, everyone! The bottom-line is that Illinois is what got us into this mess as a nation. Republicans are at fault even more than the Democrats. There is a growing movementto clean up the Republican Party ( *cough* Matt Burden For the 41st *cough* ) in Illinois. The only advantages I have are my willingness to work hard for every vote and my national reputation. Raising awareness will help immensely. Awareness and contributions will be invaluable against the establishment.Matt

19 If a Texan could vote for him, I would. Donated instead!

REALLY happy to see decent folks start to put themselves out there and take elected office back from the professional politicians.

20 I agree with Runningrn - if we all donated 5-10 dollars, we could raise a lot of cash for his election. I just did my part and gave 10 with the hope of giving more later when I get paid.

22 I'd be willing to donate an AR15 and 2 cans of ammo to 'clean up' politics in Illinois. Although it would be 'the fastest way', it's probably not politically correct.

23 Go Matt!!! Too bad I'm Canadian. I'd vote 2, 3 times at least!

28 Give 'em hell, Matt. You aren't in my district, but I hope you do well. Donations are on hold though, until I get another job.

You are in my grandparents old district. Unfortunately, they will probably be voting Democrat, just as they have in every election since they died.

30 I've been reading Matt since the beginning. And that is quite a spell.

I'm broke as hell but I'm going to send him money for his try at getting into the cesspool of politics because I know he will not only survive but prevail.

Continue the Mission Matt !!

As a side note my second grandson is in the U.S. Air Force Basic right now, While my oldest grandson who is in the U.S. Navy is somewhere in the Pacific. And if my youngest grandson gets his way, he will be enlisting in the United States Marines in 2014.
And I have no modesty in telling you that I had a big part in their decisions.

Renditions are the Air Wing's responsibility. Get in line.
