We went to a gallery of art with local artists making art inside. Not my style, mostly, but interesting. The one piece of art that really captured my attention was a picture of 3 Easter Island Moai perched on a Kansas hill. As they were made of fiberglass, the Kansas weather tore them apart quickly, but it was a striking image.
Lucas has a stand-alone public bathroom covered in mosaics, stones, and other art objects. It would not be out of place in a mind-bending drug-induced design contest in California. But a good concept, carried off with brio.
We then had a lunch in the local art cooperatives store, with a two table lunch counter sandwiched into the store. Their website is SwitchgrassCoop.com.

We'd done something in Jamaica a few years ago, so we've seen a sliver of the real island. Crime has seemingly vastly increased since.

It's really hard to tell. Trends are interesting but polls, good or bad, are essentially useless. I don't trust any polls nor any studies. I barely trust my own eyes. I would rather miss some good information somewhere than be manipulated by the cacophony of bad.

Donald, to be nice, there is such a phenomenon known as seasonal issues in sampling as in better weather means a greater Dem sampling than GOP. GOP is out doing things as married people with kids skew toward the GOP. Shut ins and singles skew a bit (depends on gender) toward Dems.
So, typically the GOP polls worse during late spring and summer months than the Dems and then magically the polls unf*ck themselves in Sept.
To be even more nice, pollsters wanting on TV to pimp their services rarely if ever talk about their sampling techniques and their problems in taking that particular frame for a poll. To be controversial means screen time with media; to be boringly consistent, no screen time.

A helpful way of understanding pollsters is past results. Rasmussen has been very accurate over the years. The media polls not so much. Most of them had Harris beating Trump last November. Rasmussen was one of the few that accurately projected a Trump win.
Trump is doing fine. This is just the garbage media trying to cause controversy.

Unless a poll discloses all its crosstabs, it is worse than useless. Even then, you run into problems if the sampling is not geographically uniform aka if I want to skew a sample even with an apparent correct national partisan breakdown, all I have to do is poll GOPe heavy zip codes for the GOP sample and no one is ever the wiser.
I do, however, think the slo motion GOP Congress needs to quit recessing and get to legislating. They have about 8 months left to pass the reconciliation package, do any rescission bills of the CR for FY 2025, and smack the judiciary's pee pee with a legislative gavel. Plus wave through a bunch of Trump nominees to replace 'acting' agency heads like the IRS.

There is a private Internet that connects ALL libraries with schools, colleges and Universities, and tech and research institutions. In California, this network is called "CENIC". Look it up. Your state has one, too.
Nobody is reporting on it. Nobody even seems to know it exists. It is the central hub for all of this leftist propaganda. It is Journ-o-list on steroids and is aimed directly at our children.

St John is nice. St Thomas is too overcrowded for my taste. I much prefer the BVI to the US islands but too each their own. Peter Island is also great.
I like quiet islands with lots of outdoor stuff. And rum.

Unless you contract with the company otherwise, as J. M. Browning did, then they own anything you come up with on a corporate payroll and facility. Depending on the language and the state, it may cover any outside activity off hours.
Contracts are where the innocents get shorn on their wool if they don't have their own contract attorney. Want to monetize your idea, leave the company, wait a bit, then create it. Don't create it on corporate time and dime.

One of the most distasteful assignments I had as a corporate paralegal: An employee died who had a couple of patents, but he had never signed an agreement with the company stipulating that the company owned the patents. So I was tasked with writing a letter to his widow requesting that she transfer those patents to the company.
I did manage to write the letter, but I don't remember how the matter turned out.

A fun, action movie with Ben
The story continues from "The Accountant" about a hitman who is a very high functioning autistic guy.
Great action, nice script, excellent direction good acting, very entertaining. It's a movie that just wants to entertain you.
"The Accountant" is now streaming on Max and Prime for "free". If you care to test drive the series before going to the theater.

The trip back was very rough and everyone was queasy for the big meal. I regularly get queasy, but for some reason as a pre-teen, I wasn't that time.
In port, the local urchins swam around the cruise ship and American's tossed coins in the water and the kids would catch them and put them in their mouths like chipmunks.
