Quote of the Day I

One in four Californians also were not born in the United States; more than one in four who enter the hospital for any cause are found upon admittance to suffer from Type II diabetes. The unspoken responsibility of California state government is to bring state-sponsored parity to new arrivals from Oaxaca, and to do so in ideological fashion that ensures open borders and more government. It is the work of a sort of secular church, and questioning its premises is career-ending blasphemy.

-- VDH in California of the Dark Ages

Quote of the Day II

"Something which has never occurred since time immemorial; a young woman did not fart in her husband's lap."

-- World's oldest known joke, Sumeria 1900 BC

Quote of the Day III

"What hangs at a man's thigh and wants to poke the hole that it's often poked before? Answer: A key."

-- Oldest known English joke, 10th century

Quote of the Day IV

"What's the difference between a pickpocket and a peeping tom? A pickpocket snatches watches."

-- Redd Foxx, 20th century

15 Intersectional Feminism is Objectively Pro-Rape

Feminism is purportedly about overthrowing The Patriarchy™, yet Feminists are silent, if not complicit, in the rapes and assaults on European women by "migrant" men, even to the point of outright saying they will protect these rapists over "racists" because the rapists just happen to be "refugees". Though not all of the migrants are rapists, it would seem that the Feminists would rather women be raped than possibly insinuate that any non-European is anything less than morally pure.

70 Notice the difference between a strong culture - such as the gurkhas - and our own?

A hero of their people loses his life, protecting others from the enemy - a proper funeral, and his daughter shows the same toughness and grit through and in her grief that made her father a hero.

In Paris, New York, and wherever our people lose their lives, we sing 'Imagine," stand around and hold candles, pile up teddy bears, and worry about a backlash....

The theater was packed, everyone wearing those paper frame glasses, and for quite some way into the movie, it was pretty quiet, as if it were a bunch of serious adults watching a serious film.

Then, at some point, the exaggerated 3-D effects - might have been where a stew was poking a pool cue toward the camera, my buddy guffawed. Very shortly, the whole crowd was laughing uproariously through the rest of the stupid thing.

I think that's the only 3-D movie I ever saw. Don't remember anything about it except the pool cue thing. And the laughter.

As much as Gopes hate him, if they were honest I think they would acknowledge that likely the only person with an R behind his name who would have a shot at winning in November is Trump. Because he has the ability to create his own coalition, outside the standard Republican marriage between Gopes and Conservatives. A marriage that is irreconcilable, I believe.

368 228 Just a reminder, Bernie Sanders was unable to hold down a job consistently despite having a degree from U of Chicago until he was in his 40's. And it was a government job.

This is the man that half the Democrats want to run the largest economy in the world.

Isn't it his plan to fix healthcare by putting everyone on Medicare? That is just another government program that people try to milk for everything they can get out of it. My dad died when he was 97, I saw first hand how some providers try to maximize what they can charge to medicare.

One example, my dad had a cough. Because of the possibility of pneumonia for very old people, his doctor had a nurse come out to check his lungs. After she checked him, she said he had a mild cold, there was nothing wrong with his lungs. Then she wanted me to sign a form for her to come out for several more visits. I asked her why she needed to come back for weeks if there was nothing wrong with him. Her answer? Because that's what medicare allows. Of course there was no mention of what the cost was of each of these unnecessary home visits. After I lectured her on wasting taxpayer money, we agreed that she would come out for one more visit to make sure the cold was going away.

There are always outliers....

Bu was she cute or hot? a world of difference, in my experience.

Give me a cutie over a hottie six days a week and twice on Sunday; they tend to have fewer hours on the engine, and far fewer miles on the drivetrain.

394 There are also medical device providers who have this whole convoluted way of getting things like wheelchairs through medicare. We needed a wheelchair for my dad. I thought it was just a matter of going to the provider, being given the wheelchair, and medicare being billed some sort of reasonable amount. Non-electric wheelchairs are not that expensive. You wouldn't believe the silliness of what they go through to get a wheelchair in your hands. Paperwork, contracts, timelines, all kinds of crap. And again, they never actually tell you what the exact cost of this wheelchair is.

If I'd known what it involved, I would have gone to Walgreens and plunked down $200. I think of this every time I see those incessant ads on tv for braces. If Sanders gets to be president, he will flush mountains more of our money down the toilet so he can feel like a commie humanitarian.

396 These results really didn't tell us much. If there's any lesson its that Trumps big time crowd popularity didn't translate as well to actual votes, but in a caucus system, kind of tough to really know how significant that is. 2nd isn't great but its not particularly damaging to the man. Rubio pulled out all the stops and still couldn't move up in the rankings, which might say a lot about the mood of voters, but again: Caucus.

Read on Twitter that Carson is complaining that Cruz played dirty tricks in the caucus but who knows how accurate that is or what it even means. Cruz is a lawyer so he's more than willing to use any means legal, even if a bit questionable in the ethics scale to win.

448 If anyone remembers (or cares) about my ethanol gasoline rant in a previous thread, I got interested. When the infernal stuff absorbs water from atmosphere and gets ruined, the volatility is decreased. It doesn't vaporize correctly nor ignite properly.

So just to see, I poured a little bit of the old fuel out on a concrete floor. Making just a little wet spot. Normal gasoline will evaporate very quickly under those conditions. You can see the wet spot shrinking in diameter and even see the fumes rising (looks sort of like heat rising). And it cools. Gas on your skin will feel cool as it evaporates so nicely.

Well, the ruined ethanolated shit didn't behave properly at all. The wet spot just sat there. It didn't even feel as cool to my hand.

And it looked off-color.

I've even laughed at a piece by some Asian girl about how she hated non-Asian men who developed that fetish because they expected them to behave in some stereotypical Asian fashion. Racists. And then she got to liking it, just played right up to that stereotype and hated herself for it. But only a little bit.

But I never saw it. It makes them mad when we can't tell the difference between say Koreans, Japanese, etc. I can a little bit.

However, I got to wondering what the deal was Thailand and all the sex trade (the place is sexual Fantasy Island for Westerners), and the ladyboy thing. Got to reading about Thai women were some of the most in demand over the years.

And I got to looking at Thai women. They look different enough that I can tell the difference. And me likey. I could easily let myself develop a "taste" for Thai babes.

466 Sanders campaign says 90 precincts results are missing because the party failed to properly staff them.

Oh please. We had a neophyte with an envelope show up to run our precinct caucus and yours truly got drafted as secretary to witness and sign stuff (thanks, hubby - I'll get you for that one of these days.)

It's only a problem for the 'rats because their rank and file is not only rank - they couldn't pour piss out of a boot with instructions on the heel. That and they always wait for the "experts" to tell them how to take a crap.

BTW, our neophyte chair did pretty good - except for announcing the results before picking delegates to the state convention and platform committee. The room was pretty damned cleared out by that point.

471 467: Oh it doesn't matter. When white men do it, it's racist. When non-whites do it, it's okay.

The "they all look alike" is a natural human trait. When you see another person of different race with vastly different features, you don't notice the details, so overwhelmed are you by the larger differences.

It's those details that allow you to distinguish between Fred and Bob, and Alice and Susan.

You've to acclimate yourself to the new features before you start to notice those little details.

In both the Nevada and Iowa Dem caucuses, the caucus vote is not binding. The binding happens at state party conventions. IIRC, in Iowa the caucus this night was to select delegates. In Nevada, the caucus selects delegates to county conventions, which then themselves choose delegates to the state convention.

In both caucuses for the GOP, the vote is binding.

Posted by: Bruce With a Wang! at February 02, 2016 04:37 AM (iQIUe)

I still think some fast food can be economical. But to call most fast food 'food' is false advertising. When food is no longer cooked fresh on a grill, a chain-fed broiler, etc., it's just crap. I remember when Burger King was a hit because the burgers were char broiled fresh constantly. Now they are pre-cooked hockey pucks sitting in a warming tray, slapped on a bun 'your way' when ordered.

Maybe it's just me, but I can cook better burgers on a stove top. I can make better burritos at home, plus knowing exactly what kind of meat is in the damn thing, and the olives I use are real and sliced, not tasteless black rings. But all the pre-prepped items in fast food chains suck. When I worked at a small independent sub shop-pizza place at Va Beach one summer when I was in college, we prepped daily the lettuce, the onions, the tomatoes, sliced the meats and wrapped them in individual sandwich portions (for speed), made dough and actually proofed it, making the food taste better overall. Now we have people demanding $15 an hour to open a damn package of whatever and slap in on whatever type of bread they use (which comes delivered). I slaved harder in my Mom's kitchen than these special snowflakes working in fast food joints demanding $15 an hour.

I blame 'ding' food (microwaves).

Another thing I want these special snowflakes to learn is that the minimum wage is actually $0.00. Because when they price themselves out of an entry level job, they earn $0.00. Time for Milton Friedman to be required reading/watching in grade school. Such an addition to the curriculum would better serve (pun intended) the students than learning how to put a condom on a banana.

/Now get off my astroturf!
