I work in that industry. Spent several years at the software company that develops an EMR and currently for a hospital system on the team that maintains it.
As with most things, it's not the idea that's bad, per se, you just can't legislate competence. EMRs are a good thing and when implemented well do increase then quality of patient care. All the top hospitals have used one form a while now. But when the federal government comes in, they confuse cause with effect. Just saying that a hospital must use an EMR or else won't make the poor quality hospitals better. They'll half ass the implementation and end up with an even bigger nightmare operationally.

The thing that really pricked my ears about that story is that it's generally unheard of to have a patch assigned to a particular mission rather than a particular unit.

Not a vet, but I do thus too coz I grew up in a third world crowded big city. My kid is like "do you have to walk so fast?"

Wow, that's my kids too. Though I've try to work with the system given.
Up until this year (fourth grade) my daughter was using a number line to add and subtract numbers because it was one of the approved methods. Part of the problem is they try to teach children (seconds and third graders) three or four methods of doing a problem, which really confuses them.
The standards in NC require the traditional (and best) method starting in the fourth grade. So apparently the idea of Common Core is to confuse the hell out of them for three years then teach them the way to do it that pretty much everyone learned to do in the past in the first grade.

Part of the problem is that we're such a big country that the refugees can be tucked away into a lot of places. Then, when a particular community gets upset - like that CA community that was blocking the buses full of unaccompanied minor illegals last summer - it's tamped down as a "local news story." ---Poof!--- problem disappears.

The federal government has been basically importing foreigners into the country illegally, moving them into small communities throughout the country, drastically changing the demographics of these communities and forcing them to pay for the education of the foreigner's children.

There were the protests last summer in that small CA town that was a hub for buses moving the illegal immigrant minors.
I recall a lot of people upset in a N. MA town when their public schools were overrun with new "students" - with no personal identification, and some of them w/gray hair.
Both stories came and went. Probably others that were safely killed before they made too many waves.

Yeah, it was pretty much a B.S. report. They completely miss the point that there are sources for fetal tissue that do not require the willful termination of a budding human life and the heartless stirring of a puddle of organs on a Petri dish. Fetal stem cells from miscarriages, properly donated and handled respectfully is a very different thing than the active solicitation of mothers to terminate a life and justifying it as "needed for vital research". I'm disgusted.

I saw one of the rebooted episodes a few years ago. Yes, it seemed incoherent and disjointed. I didn't like it.
You might start with the first 4 (William Hartnell, Patrick Troughton, Jon Pertwee, Tom Baker), that will get you used to the relevant concepts, although back then, each story was self contained and coherent. Try Genesis of the Daleks, or Robots of Death.

Reminds me of the churches in Michigan last summer taking in busloads of South American refugees to "resettle" them in small towns across the state. So they can then be given Medicaid, Food Stamps, housing, bus fare, utility assistance, etc.
Just what Detroit and the state need. Syrian refugees who have no skills, no education, probably can't read or write their own language let alone English, but have half a dozen kids, grandma and grandpa, three brothers and a sister with three kids.

I've always maintained that while the msm and lefty politicians are our opponents, they are a second order.
The real problem is we have lost control of our schools. Kids today are being indoctrinated in lefty groupthink rather then reading, writing and 'rithmetic not to mention a healthy dose of critical thinking. We are left trying to convince voters who don't just oppose us on policy, they think we are evil idiots.

I, as a White Man, am now a Minority where I was born, and currently live (Central Valley Calif).
over about a 30 year span its gone from pretty normal America, to majority Hispanic...
You now here more Spanish spoken most places, than English.. especially in Doctors Offices... and you can't get most normal type jobs, unless you are bilingual (yes, that is a legal hiring criteria), thus giving immigrants (legal or illegal) an advantage.
Add in they are Tribal in nature... and Hispanics will tend to do business with Hispanics first...
And they have no REASON to assimilate.
And that is the path this country is on... we are going to be balkanized into Tribes...
