14 That question about the media demanding that Trump defend Obama is one of those questions that answers its self, no?

The 'begging the question' thing?

Why can't Obama defend himself?
Why does it matter if Obama is Muslim or not?
Who is the authority on Obama being Muslim?
Obama doesn't act like a Muslim, doesn't pray five times a day, doesn't go to the mosque, why would anyone think Obama is Muslim?

What does Obama say when asked the question?

When will the news media realize they have lost all credibility?

32 ...with the Trumpkin element and the talk-radio ranters and the rest of the circus-monkey Right up in arms, as they perpetually are, over a litany of betrayals and compromises, real and imaginary.

In reality, there is much to be said for the piecemeal, muddle-through approach of congressional Republicans, who have a majority in both houses but not a large enough one to override a presidential veto, which makes inaction their greatest power.

--------------------------------

You can safely ignore the KDW piece on the questions candidates won't answer. Again, he seems to think that Congress can't pass legislation piecemeal to force through what they want.

Plus, people don't care about the budget when their country is being flooded with immigrants. When 20% of people don't speak English at home, we have a problem.

Eh not really.

They have some connected commentators there, yes.

But what they tend to do, is to talk about issues and ideas more than they talk about actual candidates.

for instance Andy McCarthy writes there, and he has been absolutely unwavering in his opposition to the Iran deal, unlike R's in Congress.

So the odds would be one-in-one, aka, all of them are.

It's more than just 9 Kurds making that claim. The tripped "refugee" had a Facebook page, which showed him posing with a big shit-eating grin on his face, next to the flags of several Islamic terror groups, including ISIS.

Of course, when people started talking about this, the FB page was taken down.

56 This raucous political debate over the future of the country is a good thing and here are six reasons why.

First : it's good for business; sells ads.
Second : It gets people engaged. Nothing like a good fist fight to get people's attention.
Third : It exposes people to new ideas.
Fourth : It raises awareness of diverse political thought. Nothing says activism like raising awareness.
Fifth : It forces people to defend their dogma.
Sixth : Dissent is the highest form of patriotism. Rebellion is the highest form of Dissent. Q.E.D.

60 As usual, the headlines are enough to brighten anyone's day and shine a bright light of optimism on the future.

The Steyn piece clearly won't enjoy wide readership (too bad since he's such a sharp observer)

Cuomo taking the straight razor to De Blasio quenches the blood lust (a little).

And I would still vote for Fiorina for three reasons:

- Most of the negative shit about her could set records for hyperbole.

- She's already proved herself to be sharper than almost everyone else in the field.

- Given the choice between Hillary and Fiorina... enough said.

- If she does wind up planting the Washington monument up our asses, it just puts her on a level playing field with most of the other politicians we have elected since Reagan.

Do I absolutely trust that she won't screw me? Give me a fucking break. No more than anyone else in the field.

______________________

Because in progressive-world, "tolerance" is a one-way street.

When we go to muzzie countries, even if we're there to risk our lives to save their sorry asses, we have to bow and scrape and acculturate ourselves to their cultural norms, no matter how depraved.

But when the muzzies come to our country, even if they're here to suck up our welfare benefits and shout curses at us, we can't ask or expect them to acculturate themselves to our cultural norms, because that would be raaaaaacist and Islamophobic.

It's progressive style "fairness."

I'm pretty sure they're too busy likening the male gaze upon the female form to rape. Or maybe they're too busy likening the *lack* of the male gaze upon the female form to rape.

It's hard to keep up, but I'm pretty sure it's one of those.

There is also that element (I think) of the universal reflexive compulsion to 'excuse Islam first' - the Islam Is A Religion Of Peace Syndrome. Any goddamned excuse to forgive anything trifle whatsoever as long as it reflects well on the body of Mohammedism as a whole - must be advanced.

They want us to be lemmings, and if we won't be, they will force us to be.

While I understand W not wanting to declare war on a whole religion, he should have let the Muslims stand up and assert that. They shoukd have stood as a group and saud "we denounce Bin 'll aden, and this violence. We are not like them."
Instead the Muslims immediately went into victim mode - it was all, oh noez, now the Americans will persecute us unfairly. Backlash! Backlash!

123 I seriously don't get why prominent leaders of Christendom think they have to address every temporal issue - especially on the side of "here, let's be willfully ignorant!"

Jesus, insofar as he would have been interested in refugees of any stripe, would have been interested in His followers personally seeing to the personal well-being of any given refugee (and even to refugees in general).

Nothing I see in the Gospels, the Acts of the Apostles, or the Epistles suggests that He would have attempted to influence temporal authority policy one way or the other.

129 112 >>>Will they stop pretending that blacks are not represented on television? They are well represented. Get over it!
__________________

Since black actresses won two of the major Emmy categories, they are probably over-represented. After all, blacks are only about 12% of the total U.S. population. And there are at least two prime-time t.v. shows that have black lead actresses (Scandal, How to Get Away with Murder), and maybe more that I'm not aware of (don't watch much t.v.). So what exactly are they bitching about? They want every show to have a black lead? How would that be fair?

And isn't it ironic that an actress who's a lead on a highly-rated show is whining about her lack of opportunity -- while picking up her Emmy trophy. GMAFB. We should all be as "oppressed" as this chick.
