Ma Klinton's Big Kickoff Event (!!11!!!) was treated as a coronation. Of course she took no questions, but was praised for her "vision" and mouthing of tired, meaningless, old-style lib platitudes. And some fat-boy, mom's-basement-dweller anal-yst said she "embraced" Bubba the Horndog and Choom Boy. Shit, might as well swear her in now.
The Bush Baby was met with total snark. He was stupid enough to let a "reporter" question him about the "problems" of his campaign. It was a classic "when did you stop beating your wife?" performance, and he came off looking like a none-to-bright doofus.
Which he is.
If I was in charge of setting the political agenda for teh teevee newsies, Bush would have come off just the same. But, in the interest of "fairness," I would have compelled sodden old crone Andrea Mitchell to treat Skankles with equal disrespect and disdain.
Some things never change. It's the reason I am always supportive of a switch from watching NBC to, say, HGTV. It gets increasingly difficult to sit through my girlfriend's choice of shows to watch....

I did almost 20 years teevee-free, JJ. Yes, it was a liberating experience! But this household was firmly locked into that li'l wire when I got here, and any call to disengage with it would be met with scorn and disgust. There's a curious blind spot there: in many instances, she's one of those in the "What, Me Worry?" crowd, who believe there's nothing the can do anyway, so they let things slide. Other times, she responds positively to the people presenting the news; she "trusts" Lester Holt.
I have tried to point out inconsistencies (all right, blatant lies and manipulative bullshit) before, and have given up. It's Massachusetts, after all.
If she wants to trust some overpaid face on the teevee, or believe all heartwarming human-interest stories involve members of Protected Minority Communities, nothing I can do about it.

I don't know why the left is so worried about this anyways, if SCOTUS strikes down the subsidies, McConnell and Boehner will be tripping over themselves to get them reinstated, probably with a 40 percent increase in funding, while scolding conservatives on the need to help those less fortunate then us.

Morning Everyone.
Blue cat is a fish. A cat fish. Looks similar to a channel cat, but color is different.
Fun couple of weeks....had a cardiac stress test, which showed possible damage from a small heart attack some time in the past. Which is funny, because I distinctly remember not having a heart attack, small, medium, or large, in the past. But my heart is mostly fine, outside of the moderate damage caused by chemo.
Kidneys are f'ed up too, but should improve on their own. Also, I lost hearing in my left ear. Overall, considering the other option was 'death', I'm happy enough with the results of chemo.
Another also: My hematologist says he's not going to bother with another bone marrow biopsy, as long as my CBC numbers continue to improve. Yay! Once my numbers are closer to normal, I can finally return to work....so maybe in another month.

I just read an article Drudge linked talking about the TPP failure, and this months other "challenges" for the president, and it mentioned the Iran negotiations have a June 30 deadline. I'd completely forgotten about that, and it's a big deal. Has there been any reports/leaks on the discussions like last time? Aside from Kerry breaking his leg, I haven't heard much, and that's frightening.

15% of the heart attack population have silent heart attacks, that is, no symptoms. No elephant sitting on one's chest, no numbness in the left arm, nothing. I should know, I'm one of those 15%. What makes the silent heart attack so bad is that just because one does not know one is having a heart attack, the heart does and the damage to it continues as long as the attack is not treated (mine went on for about 6 or so months). Now I have an ICD (since January '10) and have been shocked a total of 10 times since. I'm dead man walking 10 times over.
Heart attacks suck, but silent ones even more so.

Two days ago, there I was mowing my back yard when I smelled something dead off in the corner. I turned of the mower and went to investigate but couldn't find anything. I didn't want my dogs rolling in it. After I finished mowing the grass, I was rinsing off mower beside the house when I saw the neighbor rinsing out the bed of his new polaris side by side. It was 10AM and he already had a beer in his hand so I figured there was something up. I greeted him and he shook head and gave me a look that made clear something was up. He said, "Well, I kind left my mind last night."
I said, "You want to talk about it."
He replied, "Later."
Later rolled around as did a roll back truck loading up his wife's 1 day old BMW. 1 DAY old. So I asked him what happened to his wifes car? The story went like this;
He ran out of cigarettes about midnight and decided to take his wifes new car for a test drive and pick up some smokes. About a half-mile from the house a Deer shot out and slammed into the side of the brand new car, caving in the front fender and damaging the hood and the door. Needless to say he felt horrible and after driving the care home he got his wife to show her the damage. She went from disbelief to furious in about 15 seconds then accused him of wrecking it because he was drunk, said there was no deer. I have been with a drunk neighbor Adam at about 130 MPH on the back roads in his GTR he can drive after a few.
Now I don't think he's ever lied to her about something that big, he is after all a fine American and a follower of Joel Osteen. That's when he "Left his mind." He jumped in the polaris side by side and found the deer that hit the car. It wasn't quite dead so he ran over it with the Polaris till it was. Then he pulled out his brush clearing machete and proceded to hack off the Deers head. Put it in the back of the four wheeler, drove it home carried it in the house and slammed it on the kitchen table and said, "Here it is, bitch."
This quickly removed any doubt as to what happened to her car and also explained what that smell was in the wood line behind my house.

Milady hit a fawn just recently,* and our old faithful Nissan Quest now has just the damage you describe, fender, hood. Had the same when I couldn't dodge a doe, years ago, in the sturdy old Econoline, including moving the side panel so the passenger door couldn't open very far. If his wife had known anything about crashes, she might've seen the truth just looking at the damage.
(* Fortunately, Milady slowed & dodged as much as she could, and she was unharmed. Fawn actually seemed to endure, too, and bounded off, saved by modern "soft" cars.)
