SEPTEMBER 12--A Tennessee man has pleaded guilty to pointing an AK-47 rifle at Little Caesars employees because his $6 pepperoni pizza was taking too long to cook, records show.
In a plea deal, Charles Doty, 64, agreed last month to cop to his dangerous gunplay at a restaurant in Knoxville. Doty, who was charged with multiple felony counts, is scheduled to be sentenced on September 29 after pleading guilty to four aggravated assault counts.
As a result of Doty’s “blind plea,” the “length and manner of service of the sentence” will be solely determined by a Criminal Court judge, according to a prosecution spokesperson.
Police say Doty became incensed after being told that his pizza would take ten minutes to prepare. Doty demanded a free order of Little Caesars “Crazy Bread” before briefly leaving the restaurant, which is about five miles from his residence.

Not quite. Red Dragon, the novel on which Manhunter is based (and a fine adaptation it is), was written and published before Lambs. The latter is the sequel to Red Dragon. There are references to Will Graham, the hero of Dragon, and his interaction with Lecter and the Tooth Fairy serial killer from that book, in Lambs; clearly it takes place after Dragon.

Brian Cox is the actor who played Lecter in the earlier film. He gives the doctor a little less polish than Hopkins does, a flavor of well-educated thug. Very effective, though.

Not really, when you actually listen to him. He's a healthy skeptic of pretty much everything; nothing wrong with that. What is happening is that some on the left are realizing the right are not their enemy but their ally. The real enemy is the political (Uniparty)/media class. Same goes for two former Young Turks 'talent', Dave Rubin and Jimmy Dore; Dave is much more 'conservative' than Jimmy but Jimmy understands the left and the right have a lot in common while the media deliberately divides us. Dore is also vehemently against the war in the Ukraine and is calling the Maui fire a government land grab. Don't agree with every position of Dore's (Medicare For All, e.g.), but it is fascinating how much he says I agree with. Dore even led an anti-Ukraine protest in DC this year, which pretty much got no media coverage, natch.

256 Finished the oil change on the Suburban; got it off the hoist. took the '49 Ford of the jack stands in back, and Doggone it! the right rear tire was flat. Aired it up, rolled it off the ramps under the front wheels, and picked up the front with the loader on the tractor, and trundled it into the shop and onto the hoist, and got it raised in the air. Took off the right rear wheel; leak proved to be a bad valve.

At which point, the might-as-wells overtook me. Since the wheel is off, might as well service that brake. Took it apart, linings still quite good, but the wheel cylinder was crudded up, so I overhauled that. Finished the brake, raised the car higher, and welded a shim onto the rear transmission mount, so it could be bolted up. Engine and transmission are now fully supported by proper mounts.

Speaking of death, I was amazed at something. 10 days after my father died, my mother was some place and used a debit card for their joint checking out. She had two cards, one in her name and one in his. She used the latter.

Declined. And red-flagged as possible fraud/theft. They knew my father was dead, and shut down everything with his name alone on it.

I wondered how the hell that happened that fast, just 10 days. Near as I can figure, when a death certificate is filed and certified, the credit agencies get notified (indirectly -- I think the state has to notify SSA, which puts the notice out to the credit agencies).

At any rate, every financial institution involved knew of his death 10 days later.

Sunlight is the WORST thing you can do for them. They fade, blur, and blue out, just like on those old sailors. By the time they're 40 they're gonna look like they were in a food fight or something.

Okay, I live dead-center in the middle of Galveston Island. Quite the Suburb of Suburbs. (just 33 home neighborhood).

House sits 4'9" above ground level. Piers.

But, out back, there's really no traffic on that street at night. I can go to the back porch after 0100, and pretty much let go #1, as needed.

Did so about a month or so back, and immediately pinched off the flow. Why? 'Cause the largest 'possum I'd ever seen, was waddling his way to pass alongside my back porch, perfectly parallel to the railings.

Once he was in range, I let go with full force, and got 'im with a good five or six seconds of soakage.

484 I am considering driveshaft options for the Ford. The driveshaft from the van that provided the engine and transmission is about an inch too long, and of course the rear U-joint is wrong. The original from the Ford should be about the right length, but the splined yoke does not match the transmission. It looks like I could use a conversion U-joint to mount the yoke from the van driveshaft on the original Ford driveshaft. I will dummy that up tomorrow, and if it looks like it will work, I will order the appropriate conversion joint.

Used one for a while with my cats...until they started getting into in and messing with it. Now it's back to bowl. But the younger one taught one of the cats to drink from the faucet, so he pesters to drink from that...thanks, son.

He flies mad, comes out of the shower buck naked, and goes and gets his tools, and gets under the sink to take the trap off. He's still buck naked, all mad. He's bent over looking, with his balls hanging.

Cat comes along, sees that and takes a swat. He jumps up and bangs his head under the sink, knocking himself out.

I had heard that it was related to their diet, and their digestive and immune systems.

Dogs are scavengers. They eat nasty stuff and survive. Stagnant water doesn't scare them.

Cats are used to eating freshly-killed (by them) meat. Standing water is off-putting since they don't have a scavenger's constitution. So faucets and fountains are better.

Anyway, I had to call her to inform her of Daddy's death. It was the Right Thing to Do. And, of course, she got to rambling. I mentioned I was married, if she didn't know.

"Oh, I heard you were living with a woman, didn't know you were married". And then, "I don't judge, now, so don't you worry..." Went on about not judging for 5 minutes or so.

And then had to recount all the faults, in her eyes, of our family...

True dat...There are many many more "famous" musicians and actors that follow that tradition than those that flaunt it(many of those that got very publicly sober, later get very publicly drunk). Several are members of the very same bands THESE individuals play in. I quit feb4,1988. It stuck.(so far) I lived in the Bay Area for some time, and there were/are LOTS of "FamousFolks" in the meetings, and newcomers are cautioned NOT to make a big deal out of it. One of the main meeting places in Marin is a former residential house bought/donated/funded/subsidized by a "Famous Musician".
