Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | Saturday Overnight Open Thread (6/10/23)GOD: Frank, you know all about gardens and nature. What in the world is going on down there on the planet? What happened to the dandelions, violets, milkweeds and stuff I started eons ago? I had a perfect no-maintenance garden plan. Those plants grow in any type of soil, withstand drought and multiply with abandon. The nectar from the long-lasting blossoms attracts butterflies, honey bees and flocks of songbirds. I expected to see a vast garden of colours by now. But, all I see are these green rectangles. ST. FRANCIS: It's the tribes that settled there, Lord. The Suburbanites. They started calling your flowers 'weeds' and went to great lengths to kill them and replace them with grass. GOD: Grass? But, it's so boring. It's not colorful. It doesn't attract butterflies, birds and bees; only grubs and sod worms. It's sensitive to temperatures. Do these Suburbanites really want all that grass growing there? ST. FRANCIS: Apparently so, Lord. They go to great pains to grow it and keep it green. They begin each spring by fertilizing grass and poisoning any other plant that crops up in the lawn. GOD: The spring rains and warm weather probably make grass grow really fast. That must make the Suburbanites happy. ST. FRANCIS: Apparently not, Lord. As soon as it grows a little, they cut it-sometimes twice a week. GOD: They cut it? Do they then bale it like hay? ST. FRANCIS: Not exactly, Lord. Most of them rake it up and put it in bags. GOD: They bag it? Why? Is it a cash crop? Do they sell it? ST. FRANCIS: No, Sir, just the opposite. They pay to throw it away. GOD: Now, let me get this straight. They fertilize grass so it will grow. And, when it does grow, they cut it off and pay to throw it away? ST. FRANCIS: Yes, Sir. GOD: These Suburbanites must be relieved in the summer when we cut back on the rain and turn up the heat. That surely slows the growth and saves them a lot of work. ST. FRANCIS: You aren't going to believe this, Lord. When the grass stops growing so fast, they drag out hoses and pay more money to water it, so they can continue to mow it and pay to get rid of it. GOD: What nonsense. At least they kept some of the trees. That was a sheer stroke of genius, if I do say so myself. The trees grow leaves in the spring to provide beauty and shade in the summer. In the autumn, they fall to the ground and form a natural blanket to keep moisture in the soil and protect the trees and bushes. It's a natural cycle of life. ST. FRANCIS: You better sit down, Lord. The Suburbanites have drawn a new circle. As soon as the leaves fall, they rake them into great piles and pay to have them hauled away. GOD: No! What do they do to protect the shrub and tree roots in the winter and to keep the soil moist and loose? ST. FRANCIS: After throwing away the leaves, they go out and buy something which they call mulch. They haul it home and spread it around in place of the leaves. GOD: And where do they get this mulch? ST. FRANCIS: They cut down trees and grind them up to make the mulch. GOD: Enough! I don't want to think about this anymore. St. Catherine, you're in charge of the arts. What movie have you scheduled for us tonight? ST. CATHERINE: 'Dumb and Dumber', Lord. It's a story about.... GOD: Never mind, I think I just heard the whole story from St. Francis. How to have that adult talk with your significant other. It’s Okay to Watch Porn With Your Partner if You Both Agree to It The initial conversation might feel awkward, but consent is vital when bringing porn into the bedroom Saturday's are usually politics free and although the Hodge Twins videos are usually political. This short video isn't. The Hodge Twins crack me up. I think it's somewhat funny. The Feds don't. Go figure. A shirtless man is being hunted by authorities after going viral for scaring and chasing away bears at a national park. The unidentified man was filmed harassing bears at Yellowstone National Park in two separate instances. In one video, the man sits inside a vehicle with a Sam Smith song playing in the background and opens the door. Another person is heard telling him to 'leave the door open'. This story reminds me of this prank which we have previously played here on The ONT. Nothing wrong with reruns. I never knew cereal had extended family. One learns something new every an ONT is created. (WTAJ) — Two kids were abandoned after a police chase in Altoona led to a crash and the dad running from the scene to avoid arrest. Court documents show that Gino Saullo Jr., 31, is facing more than 30 charges, including multiple charges of child endangerment and recklessly endangering another person. The charges stem from a reported high-speed chase around 5 p.m. Monday, June 5. According to the criminal complaint, Altoona police were driving on Plank Road when they saw a gold Ford Explorer — the driver was later identified as Saullo — pause at a red light before running it to turn onto Union Avenue, heading the direction of 6th Avenue. Police activated their lights and siren but Saullo began to speed up, the complaint shows. After allegedly reaching speeds over 80 miles per hour and traveling down various side roads, the chase ended up back on Union Avenue. Police noted that Saullo ran the light at 6th Avenue and tried to run the red light at 7th Avenue. He was then hit by a Jeep in the intersection. Crashed UFO recovered by the US military 'distorted space and time,' leaving one investigator 'nauseous and disoriented' when he went in and discovered it was much larger inside than out, attorney for whistleblowers reveals tinyurl.com/mrj64mfn Daniel Sheehan says he was told the mind-boggling tale by a whistleblower who allegedly took part in an illegally-undisclosed program retrieving crashed non-human spacecraft – and who has now briefed Senate Intelligence Committee staff. The attorney told DailyMail.com that one alleged recovery involved a 30ft saucer partially embedded in the earth. 'They tried to hook a bulldozer to it to pull it out. And it pulled out a shape like a pie slice, almost like it was part of the way it was constructed. They had a guy go into it. He got in there, and it was as big as a football stadium. It was freaking him out and started making him feel nauseous, he was so disoriented because it was so gigantic inside. Posted by: BetaCuck4Lyfe at June 10, 2023 10:46 PM (MFZ8i) 124

I have surmised they are designed to appeal to conspiracy theorists that are actually causing the government quite a bit of grief at the moment with truths about COVID, Russia, Biden, etc. Send them off on the scent of a non-existent rabbit and perhaps they will stop exposing the truth in other areas. Likewise, just as with Tucker's first Twitter episode, they can be mixed in with actual information to make the dissident thinker sound like a kook. Re the inside of the craft greater volume than the outside. I remember that from an Art Bell show many moons ago, back in the late '90s in his heyday. Another one from that same show, IIRC, was the claim of discovering "parts" that were "inertially linked" you might call it. Discrete pieces, parts of some sort. There was space between them, and you could move anything in that space, yet attempting to move one would move all the other pieces together. - Are you unaware that Fox, particularly, but not only, through his show, has been pushing UFO stuff for years? A lot was hype for the History channel's Unidentified, but some, like a story about female abductees being impregnated, which ran on Special Report, were not. There's a story here, even if it's just that one faction of the federal government is pushing the info into the public consciousness. Beyond the usual UFO community which is pretty left wing. My cousin, who has some some better photographic equipment that I do, nothing all that fancy, got hot for Venus this time around as well. Tonight he was happy as a lark -- he managed to get a shot of Venus showing it not as a point, but clearly could see it's about half phase (46%). Come late June and early July, he's hoping to get a nice shot of Venus as a large crescent. Some time around max brightness on July 7th, you'll be able to see Venus as a crescent even with decent binoculars. My acquaintance, who was gay, commented " I'm gay but that guy is a faggot" and we had a very interesting conversation about how the " mainstream " gay community views and angrily resents, the freaks. You can tell your laptop to change boot priority to boot off the thumb drive first. Watch it as it tries to boot; at some point the screen will flash "Hit __key to enter BIOS edit function". One of the BIOS commands is boot sequence. You use the arrow keys to scroll through the menus, the BIOS editor does not recognize a mouse or touchpad. I got real lucky with speakers for this thing. I had a set of four 6.5" speakers removed from a Dodge Dakota truck cab; they have three tabs on them with screw holes. The factory speakers for the 'burb were similar size, but mounted in plastic baffles that were retained in the door by a single screw. The rear doors needed two metal tabs cut out that protruded into the 6.5" circle. Once that was done, the speaker were easily mounted by running in three #8 Tek screws with the cordless driver.

Good thing no one 'round here knows how to resolve that kind of data into a firing solution, along with the ability to make such a NEGLIGENT shot! When this boy was a kid, and on into his teenage years, he used to delight in very clever acts of sabotage. One place he loved to sabotage was the local church. Another neighbor was the janitor at this church of ours. Which meant mechanical man, in charge of the A/C and heat, water system, etc, etc. When this psycho was a little boy, maybe 10 years old in that range, he did something very clever, the details I forget with the main thermostat for the sanctuary. He was trying to get the T-stat to stick on. Many incidents like this. He delighted in hearing them talk about the trouble he had caused. The janitor got wise, and suspected him. The next incident, he didn't say a word. Didn't tell anyone about what was done. The psycho, itching to hear the feedback told on himself by asking about that, "Didn't you say somebody did so-and-so". That proved he was the culprit. Let me tell you one he got away with. What kind of stuff he graduated into. He was in his late '30s. Had a little S-10 pickup. He pulls out of somewhere one day, and pulls out in front of this woman driving along. No harm done, just a little close. It pisses he off. She blows the horn and flips him off. Well, for that, she must die, or close to it, in his mind. A car chase thing happens -- he gets behind her, and actually runs her off the road, driving her into the ditch. I mean he rammed her from behind, then pulled up beside her and just forced her off the road. He digs off. That was the last anyone saw of that little S-10. He immediately reports it stolen. Cock and bull story about the theft. To this day, that truck has never been found. Sheriff, knowing who he was, knew it was him. But couldn't prove it. Even in the heat of that passion of running of her off the road, he had the presence of mind to cover his face so she couldn't identify him. Posted by: publius, Rascally Mr. Miley (Mzdiz) at June 11, 2023 02:07 AM (Mzdiz) 307
Sheriff questioned him hot and heavy. He didn't crack, and maintained perfect composure the whole time. That case is still open, I think. He knew that truck had to disappear. He claimed it was stolen. If the truck was found, physical evidence might disprove that no one but him could've been in it. He knew he had to make it disappear. And he did. What the hell he did with it, I have no clue. They looked. And I mean looked. But they didn't find it. Posted by: publius, Rascally Mr. Miley (Mzdiz) at June 11, 2023 02:09 AM (Mzdiz) 308

There is a fellow who is paralyzed from the waist down due to one of this psycho's similar rampages. He didn't get away with that completely. That cost Daddy some bucks. But he didn't go to jail for it. That cost Daddy some fraction of those bucks. Daddy had to sell some land to cover it. He repaid Daddy by threatening him with a gun, but I'm not to clear on the details. Daddy is gone now. His brother is also gone. I wouldn't be surprised if the psycho actually "facilitated" the death of this brother there, but nothing that would amount to any real evidence. The time line of the psycho's exploits sort of run together. But he shot a guy and got away with that Scott free. This happened before the running-off-the-road incident. I think. Real story. Psycho gets in cahoots with a very disreputable character. A redneck type of disreputable character. Psycho is using him to make some bucks he needs -- drug sales, IIRC -- to cover some of his business shortfalls. Psycho is using him, and shits him over in that deal. The other guy, being a redneck, confronts him in redneck fashion. Direct confrontation late one night. Psycho shoots him. Psycho claims he was just an innocent guy, and this lunatic comes up and accosts him. He feared for his life, etc. He got away with it. The other guy lived, patched him up. He told the real story. But again, no proof that Pyscho was lying. The redneck was disreputable, a rap sheet a mile long as they say. His word was nothing. My Saturday Night joke offering:
A customer walks up to the counter and says to the clerk, “I’d like 2 1/2 lbs of Ukrainian sausage please.” The clerk asks the customer, “Are you Ukrainian?” Startled, the customer queries the clerk, “If I wanted some Italian sausage, would you ask me if I was Italian?” “No.”, says the clerk. The customer continues, “If I wanted some Polish sausage, would you ask if I was Polish?” “No.” replies the clerk. “Well,” the customer finally stated, “It so happens that I’m Ukrainian, but I’m also a little miffed by you asking my ethnicity when I first ordered the sausage.” “Why did ask me?” “Because,” explained the clerk, “this is a hardware store.” Posted by: Speller at June 11, 2023 02:57 AM (pSotA) 319

The secret of Psycho's "success" as it were, is that he had no conscience. He is unflappable. His IQ is well past genius level. But that alone is not enough. It's his ability to not "care he's done wrong", and give away tells that is the the armor. He's totally unflappable under hard questioning. He volunteers nothing. He can sit there, under 3rd-degree interrogation, and not flinch at all. He's one scary dude. He's all about "#1", but his concept of #1 may be a little different than you might think. He values getting back at those who make him mad, more than his own personal success, wealth, etc. That is, if someone "disses" him, he values fucking that person up more than his own personal wealth. >> Or are we talking about a politician?
Psychopaths make good politicians. We tend to think of psychos as cold blooded killers. They can be. Some are, and they are damned good. But it's not about that. It's about "#1". Psychos are all about #1, but it's their own definition of it. They have no conscience, no empathy. For example we're all about "rational self-interest". See Ayn Rand on that. But this thing called "empathy" checks that. We know that we shouldn't fuck someone else over for our own success. We want to get rich, fine, but don't steal from someone else. Psychopaths don't suffer from such conscience. A non-criminal psychopath makes a risk vs reward calculation, and judges that the risk of criminal behavior is too great for his own success. He will do all sorts of unethical behavior, but won't cross a criminal line. Not because of any conscience, but a purely risk vs,. reward calculation. Others will cross that line. Because of their own personal sense of value. Posted by: publius, Rascally Mr. Miley (Mzdiz) at June 11, 2023 03:53 AM (Mzdiz) 326

At one time I was in the USMC, I know shocker. Also at one point I got court martial, again, shocker.
I was charged with 186 violations. I made the point of saying to my friend, "Are they TRYING to charge me?" And my friend Thiel, said, "Yeahp." As we sat in my room trying to go to sleep, and basically every single NCO banged on my dorm door like they were my ex girlfriend trying to tell me I got them pregnant, and everytime I would answer the door "Fuck off I'm drunk and sleeping" No shit, me saying "FUCK OFF" is "Disrespect of a superior officer." which is multi charged. I got 3 charges for every NCO I told to fuck off No shit. 181 charges. You think I have any respect for criminal charges? NOPE! I was DRUNK! a chick who I did not invite into my room, was sucking the dick of a guy I did not invite into room, and I was angry about it, during a typhoon (typhoon tina) but a bunch of try hard NCO's wanted to belittle me, which doesn't work with a chicago boy, and I got courtmartialed. with 181 charges. No kidding. 181 charges Posted by: Wickedpinto at June 11, 2023 08:43 AM (gbDsv) 330
