The Quotes of The Day

Quote I

“When the pro-life movement is messaging on protecting children, they are winning. We have to humanize the child in the womb and inform voters what is at stake here.” Matt Carpenter, director of the conservative Family Research Council’s political action group FRC Action

Is the Pro-Life movement willing to accept some form of abortion?

Quote II

“People are rightly frustrated about this decision — but as dangerous a precedent it sets for a court to disregard FDA‘s expert judgment regarding a drug’s safety and efficacy, it would also set a dangerous precedent for the administration to disregard a binding decision,” Kamara Jones, acting HHS secretary for public affairs.

Yes Ladies & Gents, she said that with a straight face.

Quote III

“If I were more patriotic, I would burn the college’s buildings to the ground,” he threatened in a statement, adding that only the “soft spot in my heart for the students and faculty who remain prevents this.”Aaron Hillegass, founder of the Big Nerd Ranch technology company

I wonder if Harvard and Wharton grad Alissa Heinerscheid drinks any Bud product on a regular basis. Furthermore I wonder if she has any idea who consumes Bud products.

Bud Light's VP says she wanted to update the 'fratty' and 'out of touch' branding with 'inclusivity' days before Dylan Mulvaney's controversial partnership with beer was unveiled
Alissa Heinerscheid spoke on a business podcast on March 30 to claim that the Anheuser-Busch beer had been 'in decline for a really long time'
The Harvard grad stated that it was essential that the brand attract more female and younger drinkers because otherwise 'there will be no future for Bud Light'
Heinerscheid gave her expertise just three days before a furious backlash was unleashed on the company when it partnered with trans influencer Mulvaney

One can look for more consumers without shoving false science down your customer's throat.

It is only my opinion. Your's may vary. And if it does, we agree to disagree. That said: The Stupid Party doubles down on stupidity.

The House Judiciary Committee plans to hold a field hearing on April 17 in New York City to examine how Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s policies have led to an increase in violent crime.

“We’ll be hosting this hearing next week from NYC. We’ll be hearing from victims who are suffering under DA Bragg’s pro-crime policies. If Bragg can spend resources indicting President [Donald] Trump, he should be able to address the soaring crime in NYC,” committee member Rep. Andy Biggs of Arizona tweeted.

He was kicked out of his elected position. But he'll be back, or will he?

TOPLINE Nashville’s Metropolitan Council voted unanimously Monday to reinstate expelled State Rep. Justin Jones (D) to his seat in the state legislature, four days after Tennessee’s GOP-led House voted overwhelmingly to expel him and one other Democrat for leading a gun reform protest at the State House in the wake of a deadly school shooting in Nashville—while one other Democrat who was booted from the House is also likely to get his seat back.

It takes all kinds to make the world go round and round and round.

An Australian man was arrested for allegedly kidnapping a platypus from the wild and taking it shopping. The Queensland Police Department said that the man, who was not identified, grabbed the wild animal from the water in Morayfield and then got on a train with an unidentified female.

The two rode the train for about 30 minutes, getting off at a stop in Caboolture. The pair then entered the King Street shopping center and showed off the platypus to other shoppers.

Officers tracked down the man and took him into custody. He was charged with one count of taking protected animal and one count of restriction on keeping or using taken protected animal. If convicted, he could face nearly $300,000 in fines.

The woman he was with was also detained and is cooperating with investigators.

I wonder if she was looking for 3 hots and a cot. Probably won't be able to get valu-rite where she is going.

A 78-year-old woman with two previous convictions for bank robbery was arrested while trying to rob another bank. The Pleasant Hill, Missouri Police Department said that Bonnie Gooch walked into Goppert Financial Bank last week and handed the teller a note demanding "13,000 small bills."

Gooch also apologized to the teller, writing, "Thank you, sorry, I didn't mean to scare you."

She left the bank with the money but was stopped by officers about two miles away. Officers said that her breath smelled strongly of alcohol, and they found the stolen bills scattered throughout her car.

She was taken into custody and charged with stealing or attempted stealing from a financial institution. She is being held in prison on a $25,000 cash bond. Officials did not say why Gooch tried to rob the bank.

The mental illness wave of "Trans" will soon leave. It isn't peak madness. Babies, toddlers, adolescents will soon demand to have sex. Let's face it. If an 8 year old says he is a girl, then he is old enough to consent to sex.

HAVE WE REACHED PEAK MADNESS?
The trans movement may not be the culmination of the culture war. It probably isn’t. I just lack the imagination to discern what out next stop might be.

If we haven’t reached peak madness, we have at least hit bingo on the trans insanity card. Happily ignorant of Dylan Mulvaney — the New York Post has a useful backgrounder here — I now learn that he has secured a deal with Nike as a sports bra model even though he “sports” a male appendage and his “transition” to “womanhood” appears not to have gone beyond the possible sprouting of nipples.

Can you top that?

Well, maybe with a little help from President Biden’s National Endowment for the Humanities. At the Washington Free Beacon Collin Anderson reports: “Hola, Homosaurus: Biden Admin Shells Out Six Figures To Translate Gay Dictionary Into Spanish.” Collin does not go gently into that good night: “The Biden administration is spending hundreds of thousands of taxpayer dollars to translate the Homosaurus, a self-described ‘vocabulary of LGBTQ+ terms’ that includes phrases such as ‘anal fisting’ and ‘jizz,’ into Spanish, documents show.” Collin checked in with the NEH. As you may have guessed: “The National Endowment for [the] Humanities did not return a request for comment.” Read the whole thing here.

Food production vs. Green Energy.

There is tension in America’s breadbasket with the push for green energy running up against rural residents trying to preserve a way of life. Now, some claim the stakes are even higher and could impact all of us, with a growing number of food farms being gobbled up by solar farms. Today, we’re off to Wisconsin where some rural landscapes are becoming a shiny sea of solar panels.

This little windmill once powered a small water pump on the Polkinghorns' Wisconsin dairy farm. Now, it’s surrounded by solar panels instead of cows.

4/7 UPDATE: Post-arrest, police determined that the suspect’s actual name is Caleb Concepcion (and that “Justine Miranda" is an alias). This story has been updated to reflect that clarification.

APRIL 4--A New Jersey man riding a motorcycle with a phony license plate reading “BENDOVER” led Florida cops on a high-speed chase that ended with the suspect crashing his ride, court records show.

Police say Caleb Concepcion, 26, was spotted Sunday evening “operating a motorcycle that had the fake New Jersey tag.” When a Clearwater Police Department officer approached Concepcion on foot at a red light, the Garden State resident “looked over at me and re-started the bike.”

Customer service isn't dead. Tonight's Feel Good Story of The Day.

Mark and Jessica Getty try to make life easier for their son, William, who was born with quadriplegic spastic cerebral palsy. They wanted to build him a set of parallel bars to help him learn how to walk.

While searching for materials at Lowe's they met employee Dave Urban, who did more than just point them in the right direction.

After seeing William in his wheelchair and learning what the family desired, Urban spent half an hour fitting and cutting PVC pipes to the specifications the family researched and found.

"Then came the test. Will got up, out of his wheelchair and grabbed a hold of those bars," Urban told Fox 29. "I think you saw that courageous smile of his. Sense of pride, it keeps getting me."

Nice job Mr. Urban!

______________

Ask me that when the Pro-Abortion movement accepts some limit on abortion.

Posted by: Hadrian the Seventh at April 10, 2023 10:06 PM (MoZTd)

20 The pro-life movement will have to long march on first trimester abortion.

Even Gen Tippy Cup believes that the first trimester is a baby that is the good news, the bad news is too many of them still think "it is a choice" that can be moral to end it in the macro.

We have to take the culture back, and that means slowly reprogramming the sanctity and veneration of life back into the people.

I am an American, I am an American in the sense that we move heaven and Earth to save as many as we can whenever we can-that veneration of life needs to come back.

I made a post on youtube about the epistemology of the VP, it is the embodiment of what is wrong with our "educated" managerial class.

"The left are engaged in the raw exercise of power. There is no reason, they are not engaged in virtue they are stomping on the face of mankind forever. The programmed epistemology is incapable of adapting to failed hypotheses.

AB wanted that sweet sweet DEI rating, they got it.

Best case is AB gets 100% of .1% of the general population while alienating at least 1/2 of the general population.

The math does not work."

"A shooting on a South Carolina beach left at least six people injured on Friday while high school seniors were skipping school before Spring break was set to start, police said.

A large crowd was gathered on the Isle of Palms beach who "apparently were part of the group from senior skip day," the island's Police Chief Kevin Cornett said at a news briefing."

62 It turns out that the Miss Lindsey interview yesterday, the one where he called for American troops to be sent to Taiwan, was even better than I thought.

He won't rest until he kills us all.

So, I’m fearful the Chinese may be sending conditions to blockade Taiwan in the coming months or weeks, and we need to respond forcefully. If they do that, we need to blockade oil shipments coming from the Mideast to China and let them know if you blockade Taiwan, we're going to cut off your oil.
...
We need to put nuclear-tipped missiles back in our submarines.

World. War. Three.

Again, Miss Lindsey, if you think that war with China is a real possibility, shouldn't we stop sending our reserve munitions stocks to Ukraine?

Who knows, our military might need them.

I am pro-life. I do not believe in abortion except for in case of the mother's life which is very rare.

That said, the Pro-Life movement better take its victories where it can and work to change the people's hearts and minds.

My home state of Wis is a perfect example. A pro-abortion judge kicked the ass of a conservative in the state's SC race.

But also on the ballot were 3 amendments to the constitution allowing judges to impose stiff cash bail, taking into consideration past convictions, etc. Those 3 questions passed by 3-1 margins.

Now explain the liberal winning the court race yet the conservative referendum ballots passed.

I hate to admit but the majority of Americans believe that a first trimester abortion is ok. They get squeamish as the pregnancy progresses.

I'm not saying accept the murder of unborn for the first 3 months. But take victories where you can and work like the devil to make inroads where there is work to be done.

We already do. Any woman who goes to the hospital after she is raped gets a whole bunch of medication to prevent STDs, and she also gets the morning after pill.

The claim that "rape and incest" is a problem is an absolute lie. Even pro-abortion Guttmacher Institute found it was only 1% of all abortions in their surveys, and you know that was a lie and wildly inflated.

99.999% of abortion is recreational.

150 Alabama will and has outlawed all elective abortions. The pagans in New York and Californian can do what they want. Everyone should be happy.

And then Miss Lindsey introduced a bill in the Senate to ban abortions nationwide two months before the midterms.

He did this to deliberately sabotage the Republicans, because he didn't want the Republican Party to do too well in the midterms, because it might undercut his position.

The Democrats' talking point was that the Republicans didn't really want to leave abortion up to the states, but wanted to ban abortions nationwide.

Miss Lindsey handed the Democrats that talking point on a platter.

This is ultimately about advertising. Why won't "female and younger" drinkers drink it? Because, it's "old people" beer, is that it?

Your culture has already failed. It's fucking beer there are brand named beers in Europe that pre-date the formation of the USA by 200 years, and they have no problem getting anyone and everyone to drink them.

209 Interesting article: Rape, Incest and Abortion: Searching Beyond the Myths

https://tinyurl.com/3bza9svj

"The case against abortion of incest pregnancies is even stronger. Studies show that incest victims rarely ever voluntarily agree to an abortion.4 Instead of viewing the pregnancy as unwanted, the incest victim is more likely to see the pregnancy as a way out of the incestuous relationship because the birth of her child will expose the sexual activity. She is also likely to see in her pregnancy the hope of bearing a child with whom she can establish a true loving relationship, one far different than the exploitive relationship in which she has been trapped.

But while the incest victim may treasure her pregnancy because it offers her hope of release, and the hope of finding a nurturing love, her pregnancy is a threat to the exploiter. It is also a threat to the pathological secrecy which may envelop other members of the family who are afraid to acknowledge that the abuse is occurring. Because of this dual threat, the victim may be coerced into an unwanted abortion by both the abuser and other family members."

210 >>>Alissa Heinerscheid spoke on a business podcast on March 30 to claim that the Anheuser-Busch beer had been 'in decline for a really long time'

That's because Bud Light represents beer preferences from the 1970s. Lower carb count, almost no flavor, affordable, consistent. The market is still middle to lower class working men. There isn't any growth available. But you can piss off your existing customers. Because despite light lagers being on the decline in general, they still have plenty of competition.

Left-wing city governments can't figure out that major stores can't function in poor neighborhoods without enforcing the shoplifting laws.

Two big stores in Portland's poor neighborhoods have closed, and a third is on the brink.

One of the closed stores is now a Vietnamese shopping center. I bet they have a more -er- robust attitude towards shoplifters than the closed store did.

Posted by: The ARC of History! at April 10, 2023 11:05 PM (2tUFv)

212 (continued)

For example, Edith Young, a 12-year-old victim of incest impregnated by her stepfather, writes twenty-five years after the abortion of her child: "Throughout the years I have been depressed, suicidal, furious, outraged, lonely, and have felt a sense of loss... The abortion which was to 'be in my best interest' just has not been. As far as I can tell, it only 'saved their reputations,' 'solved their problems,' and 'allowed their lives to go merrily on.'... My daughter, how I miss her so. I miss her regardless of the reason for her conception."

Abortion providers who ignore this evidence, and neglect to interview minors presented for abortion for signs of coercion or incest, are actually contributing to the young girl's victimization. They are not only robbing the victim of her child, they are concealing a crime, abetting a perpetrator, and handing the victim back to her abuser so that the exploitation can continue.

The reason most people reach the wrong conclusion about abortion in cases of rape and incest is that the actual experiences of sexual assault victims who became pregnant are routinely left out of the debate. Most people, including sexual assault victims who have never been pregnant, are therefore forming opinions based on prejudices and fears which are disconnected from reality.

For example, it is commonly assumed that rape victims who become pregnant would naturally want abortions. But in the only major study of pregnant rape victims ever done, Dr. Sandra Mahkorn found that 75 to 85 percent chose against abortion.1 This evidence alone should cause people to pause and reflect on the presumption that abortion is wanted or even best for sexual assault victims.

223 When we reach the other side, we will be confronted with the atrocities we committed in this life.

This is why we will all be struck mute and lay prostrate before the Lord when the books are opened.

At that point there will be no peers around us to say "Don't be so hard on yourself, you're a good guy". It will be you and your sin, alone in front of a righteous judge that will not be swayed. And the truth will pierce every soul that appears like a red hot blade. And every man will understand what the term "judge unto himself" means.

And we will sob tears of remorse and recognize the monsters we are and in our minds know we deserve death and to depart from the good forever, never to be again. And only One may say "Father forgive him. He knew not what he did."

In an ideal world, people (women and men) would have more respect for life and the sanctity of life.
Some people don't....obviously.

I know of several women who were raped (not a joke, and not funny). One thought that if she got pregnant, she would carry the child. She did not get pregnant.

Another was raped, and had an abortion, and she was a strongly practicing Catholic. It was all very traumatizing and scarred her for life.

The world is full of some pretty awful things. I wish it weren't, but it is.

so "solved"

Uh, no.

That's not how the argument really goes. If you can give me a cogent and sensitive argument for murdering just a few babies, I'm all ears. Who gets to choose the babies? Which ones shall we murder first?

Life either begins at conception (and science says it does), or it doesn't. Then the question is, do we believe each life is unique and valuable, or do we devalue innocent life because it is small, or it can't vote, or it can't write beautiful music or paint beautiful pictures or whatever other arbitrary nonsense we are willing to put before the basic right to life.

Don't want kids? Give them to me. I will raise them. I am completely serious about that. If you can't keep it in your pants (and apparently society cannot), then at least make preparations for adoption before you decide murder is the best option.

so "solved"

I am formulating a new unifying Sven hypothesis on whether or not we were fucked before the founding....

There would not be a United States of America in all likelihood without the English Commonwealth and the resumption. Helping the monarchy join the republican dollar shave club forced the crown into the batter's box, and when the crown came back it sent the true believer levelers and the main body of the Puritans who were displaced by the Presbyterians and the Anglicans to New England. The proto-Yankees were responsible at their best for the march towards sovereignty of self on spiritual matters, and restrained and culpable central power....at their worst they are judgemental lunatics that will depopulate whole counties over idiotic minutiae.

There would not have been the "fuck you people" spirit aimed back at the UK without them, but once they convinced themselves they had won the moral argument on totalitarianism overseas they got back to work "helping people here."

It has been going on since the late 1600s.

Democrats want women to believe that they are all down with the struggle when in reality they despise women. Every man who now competes and consistently beats women in athletic events is celebrated as the epitome of female achievement. They hold the intelligence of women in such esteem that they have convinced them the the ugly drag queen is a beautiful happy Mom of perfectly normal children. They hold fairly strong opinions on mutilating children.

353 I'm back.
>>If you can give me a cogent and sensitive argument for murdering just a few babies, I'm all ears.
Posted by: tcn in AK,

How about this:
1. All abortion is murder.
2. Parents have superior authority and control over their offspring.
2b. Parental rights are limited only insofar as they affect the community. This includes child abuse, murder (of course,) and some forms of medical, dietary, or educational mistreatment.
3. At such time that abuse is apparent, the state has a responsibility (acting for the community) to take action.
3b. State's authority is limited by that key phrase "becomes apparent."
Therefore, parental murder is legal (but still murder) until the fetus shows. For practical reasons let's say 6 weeks, or heartbeat.
4. State does have authority to outlaw 3rd party assistance from Doctors, Pharmacists, etc., but in today's information and chemical age I do not think that would stop it for those determined to kill their baby.

(to be continued.)

Posted by: Gentlemen, tijm (AoS ONT Comment of the Week award winner) at April 11, 2023 01:11 AM (7VbA1)

354 (continued)

For practical matters, I think things can settle out and the pills will be available without anyone being prosecuted if only to prevent a black market or more horrific practices (dumpster babies) by giving all women a chance, albeit a limited one, and thus no excuse for abuse after birth. Abortion after heartbeat or abuse after birth must be punished severely.

The neck-bearded-hipsters long ago left Pabst Blue Ribbon behind, in favor of chasing the IPA Trail of Bitter Tears.

Should you see the neck-bearded-hipsters now quaffing down cans of Transweiser, well, you'll know the fix is in.

A-B might as well package it in dick-shaped cans, and market the "suck it down" motto as their trademark.

What we do need though, is a comprehensive list of ALL of the A-B brands, right down to the smallest market test label.

375 Kindltot, I agree wholeheartedly. I am happy that I have seen Roe v Wade overturned. We still have a long way to go. I think that the left would prefer that we focus on abortion while they enshrine the mutilation of children and loss of parental rights. They haven't changed, they have just expanded their horizons, very similar to how the black/white history has been erased.

376 While a very, very few so-called "light" beers are specially brewed, the most common method is the addition of filtered water.

Why anybody would buy watered down beer voluntarily - ya gotta admit that's a stroke of genius from a marketing standpoint.

Unless you really need help covering your 5 o'clock shadow. Then they've got the stuff, apparently.

378 Watering beer down is on the same level as parts stores that sell premixed antifreeze for an exorbitant price. So you pay for water plus coolant, and telling the difference between 100% glycol and premix is nearly impossible due to the near total duplication of literature on the container.

380 @380 Night Debby. Time for me also, spent most of the day discovering there was a lawn under the snow full of downed branches and leaves that didn't get raked because of a late snowfall. I am developing a hatred of living under oak trees. We have 11 mature ones on our property. Used to like them before living under the things.

Anyway, goodnite, good people. Be safe and sleep well.

381 Howdy all. I'm pleasantly tarred after getting home from a ZZ Top concert in Peoria. Good show, enjoyed that and earlier dinner w/ 3 old college friends. We met 50 yrs ago this fall, good time was had by 4 old geezers.

382 So whoever had a pro-tranny leftist who posted pro-COVID, pro-lockdown, pro-BLM, anti-Trump/Trump supporters posts online (you're all racists, btw) following Biden's orders and doing his best to help promote banning guns by murdering a bunch of people to "see if people will pay attention now" or whatever, pick up your winnings at window #2:

391 Well it's time for me to stop listening to music and go to bed because it's way, way, past this old fart's bedtime but if you're ever in the mood for some old time country gospel check out Country Gospel with Jamie Lynn Wilson and Courtney Patton and some dudes. I think they're really good.

395 "I just lack the imagination to discern what out next stop might be."

I am fairly sure the next stop--or maybe the one after it, at the latest--is a push (every bit as strong as the last few years of transgender propaganda) toward normalizing pedophilia. The groundwork is already being laid (as in the absurd "Minor Attracted Persons" moniker they've been insinuating into the language for a while). Soon enough, expressing disgust or even skepticism about adults having sex with children will be cause for cancellation.
