And now here comes the man NeverTrump swore to us was an "honorable" "moderate" "centrist" who would "restore our norms" and "save our Republic" to tell mom and pop gas stations to sell fuel at a loss, so that he can avoid the political heat of his policy of state-mandated scarcity:

President Joe Biden on Wednesday warned oil and gas companies against increasing prices for consumers as Hurricane Ian neared landfall along Florida's southwest coast.
"Do not, let me repeat, do not use this as an excuse to raise gasoline prices or gouge the American people," Biden said at the start of a conference on hunger in America.
Biden said that the hurricane "provides no excuse for price increases at the pump" and if it happens, he will ask federal officials to determine "whether price gauging is going on."
"America is watching. The industry should do the right thing," Biden added.
There are few signs that average gas prices have jumped significantly in Florida as the hurricane began to approach. AAA put the statewide average at just under $3.40 a gallon, six-tenths of a cent higher than a week ago.
A 99-day run of falling pump prices nationally ended recently, and the 14-week decline was the longest streak since 2015. The nationwide average price had risen past $5 a gallon -- and $6 in California -- in June as the economic recovery and an increase in travel boosted demand for gasoline and Russia's war in Ukraine caused a spike in oil prices.
Gasoline prices mostly reflect trends in global oil prices, and crude -- both the U.S. benchmark and the international Brent -- has been slumping since mid-June on growing fears of a global recession that would reduce demand for energy.
Many energy analysts believe prices are more likely to rise than fall in the next few months. But changes in sentiment about the economy, Russia's war against Ukraine, and even hurricane season -- always a threat to disrupt refineries along the Gulf Coast -- make predictions uncertain.

If Ford and the rest stop making ICE cars and NewCompany Inc starts making, likely founded by a Mike Lindell type guy, it won't do them any good.

Actually, that game 6 loss was Sharkman's fault. I was watching with my folks, and I turned toy Dad just before the sequence of hits and wild pitches that culminated with Buckner's error and said:

Saying that by our theories what we see doesn't fit should bring our theories into question, not just define that there is some unknown stuff everywhere but none close up where we should be able to see it. And then they see galaxies where there is 'no dark matter'.

Quantum mechanics came when the current theories didn't fit observation, so they adapted the theories and changed the view of how the universe works. I've heard of this issue all my life and not one bit of advancement in our view has come by just labelling it "dark X" and dark Y with out trying to identify and generalize it.

There are various standards for the connector, and a lot of EVs that I know of come with a universal adapter. I don't know if all of them do.

Physics has been stalled since Einstein. There's a German physicist named Alexander Unzicker who has written 4 books on the subject of how almost all of physics now is completely untestable fantasy. I think he's correct.

His best book is "Einstein's Lost Key" in which he explains our view of the expanding universe (based on red shifted light) is wrong, as gravity is causing light to slow down, thus the red shift, not galaxies speeding away.

You won't remember because you're under 29, but the whole modern notion of electric cars was spun up by atomic energy proponents, who said power would be too cheap to meter. Nobody in the 50's could foresee batteries to run a whole car, so the theory was that power lines would be buried in the highway, and there would be a mechanical link. Like a slot.

Now, north of Detroit, there is a mile or so of highway being fitted with inductance wires, to charge EV batteries as they drive on it. Wave of the future.
