The Saturday Night Joke

God Bless the US Marine Corps!

After numerous intelligence reports of Putin's demise that implied that Putin might actually be dead, Putin himself decided to send Biden a letter in his own handwriting to let him know he was still in the game. Biden opened the letter which appeared to contain a single line of a coded message, "370HSSV-0773H". Biden was baffled, so he emailed it to John Kerry and to his aides. Neither had no clue what it said. So, they sent it to the FBI. No one could solve it at the FBI, so it went to the CIA, then to NSA. Still no clue as to the meaning.

The FBI finally asked Marine Corps Intelligence for help. Within a few seconds the Marine Corps called back with this message. “Tell Biden he’s holding the message upside down." (H/T Legally Sufficient)

30 years into the future some teenager will look at a Dodge Charger and wonder why it was powered by petroleum. Sad. Really fvcking sad.

Dodge is discontinuing the sales of its gas-powered Charger and Challenger cars as it turns to electric vehicles, according to CNBC. The names could be resurrected in the future for electric muscle cars, CNBC reported, but it appears the era of junior troops spending their deployment pay or signing bonus away for a brand new Charger is closing.

Dick Headstones are a thing in Iran.

Ancient cemetery of erected penis-shaped tombstones targeted by grave robbers

Khalid Nabi cemetery in Iran is a very unusual burial site, with tombstones carved into the shape of male and female genitalia - and the history behind the phallic graves is just as curious as the stones themselves

Three, count them, three Genius Award Winners. And, they aren't all from Florida, for a change.

What goes up must come down, or something like that. Genius Award Couple.

AUGUST 17--A couple had sex inside a Ferris wheel cabin in full view of a quartet of young amusement park visitors, according to Ohio cops who busted the duo for public indecency.

Investigators allege that David Davis and Heather Johnston, both 32, were “observed having sexual intercourse” around 8:30 PM Sunday while riding the Wonder Wheel at the Cedar Point park in Sandusky.

As detailed in a Sandusky Police Department report, four female witnesses who were riding in the cabin above Davis and Johnston recounted seeing the duo having sex. The witnesses--two juveniles and a pair of 18-year-olds--“all stated they saw the woman’s bare butt and the man’s penis,” cops reported.

In addition to observing Davis and Johnston undressed, the witnesses said, “they could feel the cart shaking and see both the male and the female moving back and forth.” One of the minors said she “saw the woman on her hands and knees and saw the man behind her.”

The witnesses said that Davis and Johnston knew that they were being watched and “started laughing and continued their behavior.” One of the juveniles told police she was “very shaken up about what she witnessed” and that “this was very traumatizing for her.”

And of course we have to have a Florida Genius Award Winner.

AUGUST 19--A Florida Man arrested yesterday for allegedly arranging to have sex with a 14-year-old girl told cops that he was “just trying to celebrate” his upcoming birthday, which now may be marked from behind bars.

According to police, Anthony Petty, who turns 62 on Sunday, thought he was talking to a juvenile on the Kik chat app when he sent the child explicit photos and messages, as well as a video of himself masturbating.

Petty, in fact, was corresponding with an undercover detective posing as a girl.

Seen at right, Petty was arrested yesterday afternoon when he arrived to meet the girl at an apartment in St. Petersburg, not far from his residence in Seminole.

9 The electric Dodge Charger they unveiled this week is at least the best looking electric car I’ve ever seen. It looks like they took a 69 Charger and smoothed out the lines. I prefer the look of the classic Charger, and I don’t think the new design is better than my 2012 Challenger, but I like it better than most car designs, certainly more than any other EV.

You can knock Dodge for trying it, but the truth is the plant that makes Chargers and Challengers has been on the chopping block for years, and it’s honestly a surprise that the current designs lasted as long as they did. And the Hemi is basically being legislated out of existence. Not much they can do but go electric.

Personally I think an electric muscle car is a fine idea. The drive train is at least interesting, and I don’t think a performance car needs to be able to go long distances between charges. It’s the electric pickup truck that makes no sense.

59 Dodge Unveils New Electric Muscle-Car to Replace Challenger, Charger [dri]

A statement made in that video is downright scary. It says that they are getting rid of the popular Challenger and Charger because they are bringing down the company's fuel economy score.

So they are not retiring the vehicles due to lack of popularity of lack of profit, but due to a "fuel economy score", which is directed by the "green" nazis in the government.

And the new post-merger company Stellantis is investing $35 billion into the transition to EVs. Guy in video stated this is a worldwide transition akin to the transition from horse to automobile.

All directed not because it is profitable or feasible based on architecture (charging stations) or because the consumer wants it or can afford it... but because of the elite "climate change" nazis. They -- politicians/elites and the auto industry -- are forcing a "transition" that is going to doom the industry. Scary shit.

We've basically gone since the end of the cold war with consensus "science" where the best rewards are paid to those that agree with the people writing the checks...by agreeing to the past studies the check writers funded.

I want to see the best minds in America destroy the putrid "science" we've spent the last few decades producing by using actual science.

Posted by: butch at August 20, 2022 10:10 PM

Yep. Will doom freedom for the average person. When no one can afford to own a vehicle, there goes your freedom to travel anywhere you want. When the energy grid is jacked up by all the elites charging their EVs, all the rest of the peons will be forced to ration heat in winter and ration AC in summer. If they're allowed it at all.

Just a domino effect of bad things by forcing this transition. As a 20-year engineer in the auto industry, this has been weighing heavily on me this year. To say that I am stressed out and extremely worried about the future is an understatement.

The amount of energy you have at your disposal is a loose proxy for standard of living. When we are forced to use less efficient cars not for market reasons, but because there is a boogeyman under some nitwit's bed, we are simply poorer because Timmy, Moonbeam, and the other Lefties are afraid of the dark.

A few years ago I went to a friend's wedding in St Pete. I stayed at this very cool little hotel called The Postcard Inn that's right on the beach. The place has a bar right down on the beach and they have live music on the weekends.

After the wedding on Saturday a few of us went to the beach bar for a couple drinks. Florida Man joined us. He was dressed in a wife beater and camo knee length shorts and sported a vintage blond mullet that looked like it was washed at some point that year. He looked like Joe Dirt only dirtier.

He gets up on the dance floor with a hula hoop and starts going to town. And as he swung his hips around his shorts fell down around his ankles. And he was full commando. Did this phase Florida Man? One motor per wheel goes back at least to the 1960's. At least as vaporware. No real technical roadblocks, and you save the weight of differentials. There was a "production" EV back then called the "Voltswagen", basically a gutted-out Karmann-Ghia fitted with an electric motor on each rear swing axle, and a bank of golf-cart batteries. The stock VW front axle did not lend itself to having motors added.

Yeah, that's the only bit about the article that rings false to me. Sounds a bit too much like a plug. Whether the Big Bang is wrong or not, I don't think that affects the basic argument that fusion requires a lot of heat and a lot of pressure, more than we've been able to efficiently produce thus far. But that is definitely way outside my wheelhouse.

I think that's kind of the point he's making. We don't understand fusion nearly as well as we think we do. Perhaps we should spend more time on unraveling plasma physics at all scales to find more interesting ways of generating energy.

Far too many people choose their "truths" and conclusions based on the group they are in with, and then spend the rest of their lives finding the facts that support their conclusion.

Science, actual science, tries to find out if the conclusion matches the data and cannot be shown to be false by contrary evidence, everything else is academics, scholasticism, and grant chasing.

Yes, the JWST is seeing stuff that challenges the Big Bang model as currently formulated. The most distant galaxies, which should be only 250 million years old or so are far too massive and big according to the current theories, with stars that appear to much older.

They may even be able to image galaxies at even higher redshift factors and see as young as 180 million years according to current theory.

Yes, this is challenging the hell out of current cosmological theory.

286 Gosh, would you look at that. Establishing the narrative just in time for mid-term election fraud, exactly like 2020:

"Democrats are gaining ground on Republicans in the polls after months of predictions of a "red wave" in the midterm elections."

After months of solid "red wave" predictions and nothing improving (and inflation just getting worse), somehow Democrats are now tied with the Republicans. Almost like... Nah, couldn't be. Not again.

304 VDH warning that the Left is rattling drums about Civil War..

The "left" is the establishment, and the establishment remains in control by controlling the media, the government, and the legal and financial systems. None of that stuff matters much if the situation degenerates to a civil war. Short of nuking everywhere that isn't a big blue city, which is where they are the majority, how do they go about starting a civil war they have any chance of winning? They can't secede from themselves, they don't have the manpower to physically subjugate the country, and if they invite in the Chinese or something like that how do they figure they remain in power afterwards? Note that all the riots and destruction in the summer of 2020 happened in big blue cities. They knew what would happen if it left their enclaves. They are attempting to provoke some small extremist group to do something and then use media to tar the entire populist movement with that group and sway the majority away from populism.

The science is not settled. It never really is. Prime example in current news.

Bullshit, it ain't dusty, and here's the proof!

453 The term Locus of Control popped up for me today, and it has to do with where an individual attributes the ability to control his life. Internal locus of control means the individual has a high feeling of agency, and external locus of control attributes agency or responsibility to exterior forces or individuals
LOC can be different for different segments of one's life.

I wonder if this is a good insight into Desmet's theory of mass formation and the Coof reaction.

If an individual can place locus of control exterior, then there is little agency in a response to a complex problem. The problem might not be Desmet's concern that the only way to resolve the mass formation is to let it burn itself out and discredit itself, but to return agency to the individual.

I may be too concerned about "agency" in my life. A prior employer certainly felt so.

It's a stupid waste of time and energy I'd rather spend doing... almost anything else. Also, I'm an ideal candidate for an electric car! I drive maybe 1,000 miles a year, tops. For long trips I rent. Which is ironic as my current car is a Euro turbo 'executive performance sedan'... I figured out years ago I could do pretty much anything I need for around town with a golf cart.

567 By definition, Chrysler (and GM and Ford) can't produce enough EVs to fulfill market demand. There isn't enough Lithium in the world.

So they either need to find a way to survive at 10% of current sales, or go out of business.

Or more likely go back to building and selling ICE cars in the near future, once Brandon is gone.

A strategy that includes an impossibility isn't a strategy.

If things had gone the way they should've been, we'd have had a Moon base now. It would've been the staging ground for missions to Mars. Mars would've been old hat by now, and just now we'd have human presence of the moons of Jupiter, and we'd just now be getting to the outer solar system.

You don't think the expense and the amount of energy needed to power any outworld settlements would stop any of this from happening? No air, no water, no protection from cosmic radiation, little light and heat, seems to be something that would be insurmountable with our level of technology. I think if we ever get to the moon again or even Mars, it would only be short term, nothing permanent.

Nyooculur power would've done it. There's water galore (relatively speaking on the Moon). Nyooculear power could extract ti.

A Moon base would've been doable by now for certain. Permanance is another question. Just how much tolerance around 1g the human species has, is not settled science. We wouldn't be reproducing, I don't think.

Seriously, had we continued as we should have, and just said to hell with the commies, we would have had a functioning Moon base. Personnel with stints of few months, rotating out. We would've been to Mars. Nothing permanent, just planting the flag and doing a little exploration.

And yes, manned missions to the moons of Jupiter.
