  • Sales of Xbox consoles, software, and online services were all down in the quarter ending June 30. (WCCFTech)

Does that mean I can finally get an Xbox series X?

No, don't be silly. And don't even bother looking for a PS5.

  • Trees don't exist. (Eukaryote Writes)

Not that there aren't things called trees, but rather phylogenetically it is impossible to draw a line around the things we call trees. It's hard enough with crabs - king crabs, for example, aren't crabs, and nor are coconut crabs or hermit crabs. Crabbiness has evolved at least five times independently.

But treeness has evolved independently at least thirty-eight times in the Canary Islands alone. Herbaceous plants freely evolve into trees and back again, completely destroying any hope of a neat evolutionary tree of trees.

Diastolic was average 60...not good. This has happened since her heart doc put her on a new med to lower her blood pressure. It works tooooo well Doc. She finally got thru to the doc who wants her to only take half a pill and keep recording her BP. Mine is about thru the roof. Maybe I'll take the other half.

Just because it's interesting and something someone might like to read and know about:

"The most famous example of a clonal grove is Pando, a grove of quaking aspen in Utah’s Fishlake National Forest. This entire forest, possibly over 80,000 years old, in Utah that is made up of ONE single tree with ONE massive underground root system is called a Quaking Aspen. It’s also the heaviest known organism, weighing over 6600/tons."

Social networks are dead.

I don't know. Since we're in a recession and businesses tend to spend less on advertising, the business model may have to change to a subscription basis to pick up the slack. While I do have a Facebook account I would not pay a single penny for it. My wife would possibly pay a couple dollars a month for her account.

Things could spiral out of control. As Hemingway said of bankruptcy, 'gradually, then suddenly'.
