The Saturday Night Joke

A little boy was sitting on a footpath with a bottle of turpentine. He was shaking it and watching all of the bubbles.

A priest came along and asked the boy what he had.

The little boy said, “This is the most powerful liquid in the world; it is called turpentine.”

The priest responded, “No, the most powerful liquid in the world is Holy Water. If you rub Holy Water on a pregnant woman’s belly, she will give birth to a healthy baby.”

The little boy answered, “If you rub turpentine on a cat’s ass, he’ll pass a Harley-Davidson.”

Fantastic! She won't reproduce.

ALLERGIC TO SEX I suffer facial paralysis and a burning sensation that’s like 1million needles piercing me down there after sex

Speaking of sex and reproduction. Family tree or telephone pole? You decide.

We're sisters and our sons are cousins and genetic brothers - it's confusing'
Identical twins Brittany and Briana have claimed their two children are both cousins and genetic brothers and that people struggle to understand when they explain why the look so alike

Two recently born babies are both cousins and genetic brothers due to an extremely unlikely scenario.

Brittany and Briana Salyers are sisters and both have recently had their first child, Jett and Jax, who are genetic brothers even though they were born months apart and to different mothers.

That's because Brittany and Briana are identical twins, and they married identical twins Josh and Jeremy Salyers - so both couples look exactly alike and share the same genes.

Brittany and Briana shared the baffling story on Instagram, and soon their fans were trying to figure out the unique connection between the babies.

So when the Fabulous Mrs. Mis. Hum. and I travel to Sydney, Australia, I guess we won't be dining at this Cheeky Karen restaurant.

A note in front of the popular Bedouin restaurant in Double Bay, Sydney informs its guests of the new rules.

According to the new house policy, customers cannot have "visible tattoos," wear "heavy jewellery" or "designer-labelled apparel".

The eatery's co-licensee Poata Okeroa told The Daily Telegraph: “We value our customers and community stakeholders, and have always implemented house rules that includes a dress policy that discourages intimidating appearances.

The Middle Eastern restaurant was launched three years ago and is run by Poata Okeroa, Eric Jury and Julian Tobias.

I guess I could wear sleeves to cover sleeves. But, not sure about my ink wedding ring.

Someone has some explaining to do when they pick up their Genius Award.

PLANTATION, Fla. —
A Florida mother was terrified this week when she went to pick up her daughter and found the day care locked up, with the lights off, appearing to be closed.

NBC Miami reports Plantation police were called Wednesday night to KinderCare Learning Center.

Stephanie Martinez tearfully told reporters she was immediately concerned when she got to the building around 6:15 p.m.

"They know I get here around 6, 6:15 because I have to pick up my other son by 6. I get here, everything is shut off. No cars, which is weird," she told WSVN.

25 Hello, horde. Many thanks for the many compliments on Robert the Cat (TM).

For the record, he is not spending the entire day under the bed; he is frequently out and about wanting pettings, and in fact, has just rubbed against my legs wanting same. Pardon me a moment.

He is becoming more and more a cat. He is affectionate and curious and loves being petted. I bought one of those "things on the end of a rod" and it was great--he loved the heck out of it. In fact, before he knew it was there he peeked into the small trash can that had the packaging, as if to say "I know what came out of this, it's a toy, where is it?"

Love to you all, and love from Robert the Cat (TM) who loves compliments.

Indeed. They produce a mini "playbill" for each play and musical they do at his school. The lead actors and actresses get a paragraph in each one where they mention how many school productions they've been in and who they'd like to thank, etc. They are usually 4 or 5 sentences. Not if it's used properly, no. It conveys a sense of ownership in a project; who is going to have a rough day if it goes bad vs. who is going to be out on their ass.

176 Good news story:

Went over to pick up the mail for an elderly relative who's been in the hospital (given that I'm 29 years old, we're talking quite elderly here). There was a note in the mailbox from the neighbor asking for a call. Turns out she and the other neighbor hadn't seen my relative for a bit, and got concerned, especially when there was no answer at the door (I guess they haven't seen me going by to get the mail, as they both know me by sight).

So, at least it's not like that poor woman in Italy who'd been dead for two years before anyone noticed.

I'm saying he started out smart. he was admitted as a normal white dude, and a swimmer, and was actually decent (as a male swimmer).

so to get into Penn in the current year NOT as a trannie (he came to this situation so he could finish out his last year as a swimmer actually winning a bunch of medals) he has to be quite smart. he had no other hooks (when admitted) that I can see. he was a male swimmer which isn't THAT much of a hook at all, but he was All American in high school so that does help. regardless he needed to get by admissions - mens swimming isn't mens basketball by any means.

Yes, there was no move to collect the thirty something purchases that someone made. The problem for me was the extra work, having the postoffice hold mail for a period of time, notifying anyone connected with the estate of address change to post box, and trips to the post office to pick up mail. The goal is to train everyone to keep taking the clot shot indefinitely and let attrition fix the elites' basic problem of being outnumbered.

There's certainly no legitimate reason to be taking a shot that barely worked against a virus that 99.7% of everyone survived, despite government's efforts to keep us all untreated, that has been replaced in circulation for a year and a half.

But don't worry: two further waves from now they'll be clearing their inventory of the version that barely works against omicron.

248 Part of the problem with Lia is that due to the nature of swimming, dripping wet in a swim cap and bathing suit, he looks exactly like a he. A little bit of boobage doesn't change that. That's obviously a man swimming, especially with those shoulders and narrow waist. The real women swimmers are idiots for not complaining.

yes for certain things - but not for a run of the mill decent male swimmer, which is what he was when admitted. he had a hook but not a "star basketball player" hook. and btw track is useful for female students only; it's very hard for boys to use track for admission. most track coaches use it for "school diversity points" - they actually use most sports for this in Ivies. he was not diverse in any way (when admitted).

the dude is smart. I've heard him speak. He's smart enough to dog it just enough to have "plausible deniability" of his incredible OP status as a "female" swimmer.

as long as they let him keep this up, he will. he's probably amazed it's gone this far.

I hate to say this but so many female collegiate athletes I know just quit when they are in college. they don't love it, maybe the pressure of DI is too much? a lot quit. a lot just hate it. probably a lot don't mind being on a winning team but not having the pressure - the shemales will win for the team and they can kick back or be on practice squad.

a lot of parents now curate their kids. I just had a talk with my youngest's college counselor and they were very concerned about the lack of a "hook" - this would be something Very Special that would maybe get a white kid who isn't LBGT-whatever into a T-50 school.

meh whatever. it's all so crazy. a lot of the female athletes were "curated" by their parents - they find a likely sport like crew/volleyball/the field sport in track and field, and they get good enough and WHAM they are in - into some pretty elite colleges, often.

The show stopper will be when he sings I Wish I Were 64.

We saw him on the tour before Vid. Yeah, he is a political lamo, yeah, he's ancient, yeah, he's lost a lot of his voice, yeah, he charges a lot for tickets. I am a very very late boomer (everyone's older brother had all the fun and we got Carter and the Omni) but I still revere the Beatles musically. His band is crack, the show was carefully orchestrated to cover for Paul as much as possible and I got to sing along with "From Me To You" in the same building with an actual Beatle playing the same bass. It was worth it and if you haven't, I recommend it. He can't go on forever.

330 For a long time, investment advisers would all tell you to establish personal and family trusts to avoid probate. This advice may have changed, but my parents believed in it. So, after the one uncle died (who had custody of the old family properties), and then the other uncle died, then Mom died, and since we held some other properties in common as a "family corporation," we tried to keep the one set of properties sorted out on paper by having accounts labeled "The Davis Estate" -- since The Estate was what we, often jokingly, called the old place and land. As strictures tightened, we got banker-told that this was highly irregular and illegal, since we were artificially keeping "estates" unsettled and unclosed. It was bitchin' legal work to re-title all those bank accounts and deeds, but my wife The Executrixie complied. We were not happy about it either.

Then my dad died. Two years later, we're still working on closing details, as soon as legally allowed -- and when we get a dividend check or some other small payout, since we don't have an account called "The Davis Estate," it has to go to the lawyer's office so he can clear it through his probate account.

347 Trusts can be really great for probate and tax avoidance. Ultimately, however, they are only as good as the legal structure supporting them.

Like real estate and M&A lawyers, form practice is the biggest problem with trust, wills and estate lawyers. Most don't consider the real issues before them and draft docs tailored to the family's actual needs.

The Californian guildie jumped in to agree, so I didn't get to ask the Canuck what I'm asking you:

What the heck did he mean by that? That there were agent provocateurs, people caught up in the enthusiasm of the protest, that people shouldn't have brought their kids/pets, only truckers should have protested, or something else? 409 @404- Omg the floorboard dimmer switch, I had totally forgotten that, um, feature lol.

My first vehicle was a Chevy truck with a three-on-the-tree shift. What a piece of crap. I would sometimes have to literally pull over and get under it to free up the jammed cotter pins. Crazy.

My younger sister had a VW Beetle with a semi-automatic so there was no clutch but you had to take your foot entirely off the gas to facilitate pressure differential shifting. If you were driving and rested your hand on the shift the contact would shift you into neutral while you were driving.

Good times.

My late uncle Leo had one of those. It replaced his '50 Chev Powerglide, which he had maintained in mint condition since he bought it new. His left leg was locked straight because his knee had been fused for rheumatoid arthritis, so he could only drive an automatic. He had to have the seat in the VW set back six inches so he could fit in, because despite being crippled, he was still a very tall guy. He really loved that little Beetle, too, and maintained it every bit as well as he had the Chevy.

423 >> Weren't Bill Gates

Speaking of Bill, I was watching some video this afternoon of Bill Gates speaking on some panel about the vaccines and covid.

Ol' Bill was sitting in his chair, sort of slouching and knock-kneed. Made William F. Buckley look like a paragon of posture.

Some evil bitch was hosting the thing, and she had on a pair of red f-me pumps, and was sort of showing Bill some leg. Bill didn't seem too interested, and sort of avoided eye-contact.

She asked about this mess, and he said, "Sadly, the Omnicron variant is acting like a vaccine that is spreading rapidly."

Sadly, he said. Sadly.

He had the first year, 1968. As I remember, they had 3-speed transmission, not the usual four-speed. And there was either a fluid coupling, or a torque converter, plus a vacuum-operated clutch control by a touch of the gear lever. You could start out in third gear, but it would have been very sluggish. Second was a good all-round gear for urban driving. First for starting on steep hills, or for "spirited acceleration".

The Automatic Stickshift was never a big seller, and eventually VW came out with a pretty modern conventional automatic transmission.

Most modern browsers will remove the line feed and other extraneous white space there automatically. Chrome, Chromium, Firefox, and Edge I have here do that effortlessly.

If you want a tinyurl, here it is:

https://tinyurl.com/3bvun3re

If your browser doesn't remove extraneous white space, some easy manual editing of the URL field will get you right to it.

Posted by: publius, Rascally Rapscallion (Mzdiz) at February 20, 2022 02:47 AM (Mzdiz)

436
I remember earlier, many browsers would take a URL you copied and pasted that had a line feed in it and convert that line feed to a "%20" character, which is hex for ACSII space character.

So, you'd just have to manually erase that. Now, they all seem to just ignore it.

440 @429 - I think that's right. I seem to recall my sister's having a three-speed with an H-shift pattern, the upper left being reverse. It worked fine so long as you didn't rest your hand on the shift, bc an electrical contact would engage the clutch and put it in neutral.

Believe it or not the last time I was in Rome I rented a vehicle and they delivered a Smart car with the same arrangement just a few years ago..

So there I am in a foreign country with street signs I can't read and roundabouts trying to fully let my foot off the gas before touching the shift and trying not to get killed by the locals. I was a menace and it was best I got off the roads after taking my day trip .

The Smart cars are interesting in the same way the Beetle is, but even better. They're made by Benz and are super roomy, and you can park them anywhere. You just have time to get over the gaydom of driving a car that looks like a high top tennis shoe.

They also had a very small fuel tank and got way worse gas mileage than I would have thought, causing me to fill up at an ENI station (with their weird flying six-legged dog logo signs), paying by the liter in Euros.

449 Just the opinion of a sometime commenter but mostly a lurker. If you are trying to get people to read something, I think the process should be as short as possible for your target audience.

I recommend tiny url because it has a handy little widget you can install on any browser that I know of. It will make a tinyURL of any page that you have open. One more click and it's copied. Just paste it and all your audience has to do is click on that link.

No fuss at all.

Another nice thing is if you read a lot of tinyURL's you can configure it to always open links in preview mode so you know , sort of, what you are loading.

End rant that isn't much of a rant.

William F. Buckley's slouching was notorious and a hoot. On "Firing Line", with Michael Kinsley moderating. Buckley had on a rumpled suit, looked like he'd slept in it, and a clipboard. He'd slide down in his chair, looking like he was just going to pour himself on the floor.

There was one clip of Buckley, and a couple of left-tard economists. John Kenneth Galbraith was one of them, and some other pointy headed idiot.

They all, Buckley included demonstrated "intellectual stammer" to a T. Buckley got to going, "Ahhh, ahhh, ahhh". Galbraith was doing some hemming and hawing and the other guy got to doing some constipated sounding, "huhhhhhnnn. Uhhhhhhnnnnnn, well, Uhhhhnnnn!".

All three of them together, intellectually stammering.

There were 70 Canadian truckers who got busted in the protest yesterday. So Justine Castreau got his video for state-sponsored TV news.

But the video shows interviews from truckers and relatives that the cops drove about 20 minutes, stopped near a mall, and told the arrested truckers to "take a hike, get out of here."

I wonder how long YouTube will allow the interviews to remain, after all, they make ABCBSNBCNN news look bad. Biden supports Little Fidel's boot on the neck of truckers. It's a test case for Biden's America thug gubbermint. So far, it doesn't look good for oppressive gubbermints, judging by the support for the truckers, which is growing every day.

468 The restaurant Bedouin is in Double Bay, one of the richest suburbs in Sydney. It serves Middle Eastern food. Violent Middle Eastern populated bikie gangs pretty much run the underworld in Sydney and have plenty of cash. The bikies are heavily tattooed and favour heavy gold chains and big gold rings as jewellery. No doubt these bikies have been frequenting the restaurant and either causing trouble or scaring away the upmarket clientele of the restaurant. Enforcing a dress policy that discourages intimidating appearances is most likely a response to this issue, and is pretty ballsy considering who it is targeted at. So, unless Mr. and Mrs. Mis Hum enjoy eating their falafel with a room full of violent criminals, they should probably be in favour of the policy.
