Won't be worth much honestly. He barely uses a computer and this was tv stuff, and otherwise a lot of times its his phone which is an android, which I haven't had for over 10 years but I'm the computer savvy one of the family. I told my mom next time he needs a new phone to get him an iphone, because that's what we all have so if he does something done she or my three siblings that still live in the same town can maybe fix it.

Why it's so great to have been born in that Gen X/Millennial nebulous time period of the late 70s early 80s. Growing up in a technological estuary of old stuff and new tech along with the rapid advance that forced us to adapt to newer crap, we still had rotary phones and button phones. From VCRs becoming common to getting dvds and then blu-rays. The rapid advance of computers and video game systems. Give us tech, new or old, that we've never seen before and we're going to start scrolling through menus and figure it out.

I don't know if they still allow crowds during the Reign of Covid, but when I was in college (early 90s), there would usually be about 1000 people there. But "feet" is probably connected to the "-amb"... iambs, dithyrambs, etc... meaning "step" (as in "ambulatory" or "perambulate"). Each stressed node is a "step" when you're walking off the line in question. Possibly even literally connected to the act of reciting something while marching or pacing.

292 Anyone speak cat? I had a strange encounter this afternoon. I was on the way to the garage when I saw a large, obviously well fed, grey striped, and what I assumed to be feral, cat, running across the back fence line. It had no collar.

I called out "Hi cat", and it stopped, looked at me and meowed. It then walked a few feet, sat down partially obscured by a bush, and stared at me for a good 30 seconds. I gave it the slow blink but it just stared and then turned and walked off behind the garage. I don't know if I made a friend or not.

Years ago I happened on a guy cleaning out his shop and relieved him of boxes and boxes full of Hubbell duplex receptacles and switches. He just wanted them gone so damn near gave them away. I'm still working my way through them. It's nice to work with commercial quality for a change.

I don't know much about it, but I am using it to read and comment on AOS at this very moment. Mint is a very easy transition from Windows. And it comes with a word processor, spreadsheet, browser, e-mail client, all the standard shit, and has native drivers for many common printers, too. And yes, you can run Zoom under Mint.

I can set it as a dual boot when I get done with this job. That's what I would do, if I needed a cheap machine to run Zoom.

Ruh roh. I bought a high-end Lenovo Legion 7 a few months back and, aside from the full keyboard being too damned cramped for the chassis, I've enjoyed it thus far. Performance-wise, it crushes anything else I have and it won't thermal-throttle despite the heavy loads. It feels reasonably sturdy build-wise. Hopefully it'll work out for a while.

It's the first laptop I've bought since my 2013 Macbook Pro which is being put out to pasture by Apple via them denying OS updates past Catalina which goes EOL this year. Soon, it'll be a fancy Linux netbook. For various reasons, I'm not in the market for another Apple product. Also, Asus screwed me out of a warranty repair so they're on my perpetual shitlist.

Try importing your remote desktop file into Remmina (Remote Desktop software) available in Linux Mint. Mine works flawlessly.
