Chuck Schumer, Who Controls Whether Tech Monopolies Will Face Anti-Trust Action, Has Daughters Who Work for... Amazon and FaceBook

Oh.

Ohhhhhh.

Oh I see now. It's all fake. It's all rigged.

It's all a scam and we're the marks.

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer is responsible for shepherding antitrust bills that aim to crack down on Big Tech -- and both his children are on the payroll of companies the proposals would seek to rein in, On the Money has learned.

Jessica Schumer is a registered lobbyist at Amazon, according to New York state records. Alison Schumer works at Facebook as a product marketing manager.

Advocates of the legislation fear that the tech companies' ties to Sen. Schumer's children could create a conflict of interest, people close to the matter told On the Money. And they say Schumer's familial connection to the tech companies is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the cozy relationships some members of Congress have with the firms.

"When you put together the amount of money Speaker [Nancy] Pelosi made off tech with the fact that leader Schumer's two kids work for giant tech companies, Democrats are going to have a very hard time explaining if major legislation doesn't move forward this session," one progressive operative told The Post.

And I mean, why not point out that Nancy Pelosi continues betting on stocks whose fortunes she controls and has advanced knowledge of, and also that her crooked son is involved in five companies currently being investigated by the feds?

EXCLUSIVE: Nancy Pelosi's son Paul was involved in FIVE companies probed by the feds as shocking paper trail connects him to a slew of fraudsters and convicted criminals

A shocking paper trail shows Nancy Pelosi's son, Paul Pelosi Jr.'s connections to a host of fraudsters, rule-breakers and convicted criminals

A DailyMail.com investigation can reveal that Paul, 52, was involved in five companies probed by federal agencies before, during or after his time there

He joined the board of a biofuel company after it defrauded investors, according to an SEC ruling, and whose CEO was convicted after bribing Georgia officials

Paul was president of an environmental investment firm that turned out to be a front for two convicted fraudsters, documents reveal

He served as vice president of a company previously embroiled in an investigation of scam calls that targeted senior citizens

A medical company Pelosi Jr. worked for was accused of testing drugs on people without FDA authorization, DailyMail.com can reveal

A source close to a firm Nancy's son worked for told DailyMail.com that Pelosi Jr. received $2.8 million of shares allegedly issued as part of a massive $164 million fraud in July 2016

What is up with this, the Supreme Court upheld that cities have an affirmative duty to pay for homeless people, so much so that every city in America is spending billions to, uh, do stuff that I assume makes things worse bc evidence but also to line pockets.

88 Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer is responsible for shepherding antitrust bills that aim to crack down on Big Tech -- and both his children are on the payroll of companies the proposals would seek to rein in ... Jessica Schumer is a registered lobbyist at Amazon, according to New York state records. Alison Schumer works at Facebook as a product marketing manager.
Advocates of the legislation fear that the tech companies' ties to Sen. Schumer's children could create a conflict of interest ...

++++
Sure, and that's a reasonable fear. It is a conflict of interest.

It is a comparatively small one, though. Sure, it's his family and thus he is unlikely to be objective about it, but these are bigwig politicians we're talking about. Schumer would rent his daughters to Joe Biden's Grope Emporium if it furthered his political power and ambitions. I have no doubt that he'd happily sacrifice their own careers to further his own.

The bigger conflict of interest is in the reality that Big Tech owns large tracts of the government, has shared control of the Democrat Party and is in the majority ownership position in large numbers of the politicians directly.

Absolutely. Let's not forget the media, as well. Jay Carney spends 20 years at TIME, then goes to work for Biden and then Obama in the White House. From there, he goes to Amazon to be their SVP for Corporate Affairs. While there, he convinces Jeff Bezos to give (give!) Van Jones $100 million in unrestricted funds as an award. Where does it go from there? He's just one example of dozens.

That ain't rightly true - they're also busy doing everything they can to buy jobs for their kids.

Give credit where credit is due - back when honest Socialists were trying to win in the arena of ideas - they always talked about rent seeking. Leveraging their wealth, without producing any value, simply to gain advantage over those who couldn't climb high enough on the economic ladder to "afford" a mortgage.

193 Although our forefathers saw this coming and gave us specific tools to rectify the situation, I think the rot also exists at the state, so no hope there.

The Dead White Guys always wanted competition. And they were pretty blunt about it when it came to government.

They didn't want standing armies (sorry - but it's true) and they didn't want a professional police class. Their antidote for both was a well armed citizenry.

They didn't want a media class. They wanted anyone that could afford the ink and paper access to a press without fear of seizure - although, entirely in fear of what you printed about your neighbor. You could dog cuss the government all you wanted, however.

Such is what a self-governing society looks like. Not efficient - but free.

Corruption is almost always present in any political system to the public detriment including our government even in the Continental Congress era. But, giving the fed gov unbridled taxing, spending, and regulatory powers have more or less made all large businesses accomplices in that corruption or risk losing out to their competitors.

Globalism means that legislative and administrative corruption though includes enemies of the US making payments which is not a historical norm. History tells us that a) a wholly incorruptible government has never been instituted and b) at some point, unbridled corruption destroys that particular form of government and perhaps the state itself if there is no reform.

All kinds of bacteria thrive in a warm moist atmosphere and these are promptly rebreathed. Dentists are seeing a lot of dental issues and doctors are seeing a lot of sinus infections as a result of prolonged mask wearing and rewearing used masks.

Doubt prolonged exposure to artificial plastic fibers from the masks are doing people favors in the lung department either.

I've had to wear N-95 and respirator type masks for work projects and chem warfare training back in the day. They are not healthy to wear long term even with the best cleaning practices.

Yep and you destroy the effectiveness of the mask. The mask material has an electrical charge that attracts particles as part of the mask functioning which is destroyed by washing and the mask material itself will deteriorate under high heat. If you must reuse a mask--use UV sterilization--dunno what it will do with the charged nature of the N95 mask though.
