Covid: An After-Action Report

ChinaCovid.jpg

Well, that was fun!

Five days in the hospital for Wuhan flu doesn’t sound great, but I am very glad I had access to a good community hospital with good nursing and an experienced staff that has seen tons of the disease. My county has been the hardest hit in my state, so I guess I am a bit lucky.

Contrary to the ignorant reports of overwhelmed ERs (lines outside don’t mean anything), my experience was impressive. Triage was perfect. There were lots of typical ER visitors (sprains and sniffles and nausea… ) wandering around, but they were placed at the back of the line. I was seen almost immediately, and within 10 or 15 minutes was put in a private room and given a PCR test to confirm the rapid test. That took about an hour, and I was then treated with the hospital’s standard protocol and moved to the Covid wing.

Most of my crushing and awful symptoms rapidly moderated, which was impressive. And very possibly coincidence, but there is no way to know. I was left with profound fatigue, a cough from hell, and clear instructions to use the damned spirometer as much as I could. But as some of you know, hospitals are nothing if not boring and uncomfortable, so that was my entertainment! But please; don’t ask about the food!

One thing I found fascinating and not a little depressing was the real time information available to me via the much-touted electronic medical information systems that are going to revolutionize medical care. Unfortunately the systems in use where I am are an absolute catastrophe…filled with inaccurate information (in real time!) and glaringly obvious cut & pastes by physicians, nurses and clerks. Wrong data about medications, inaccurate descriptions of physical exams, time stamps that are obviously incorrect, and that was from a casual perusal over several days.

Obviously many of those errors are not specific to electronic data…doctors and nurses and clerks make mistakes regardless. But the replication of errors is made effortless by electronic records, and while a cut & paste of a physical exam that wasn’t done on Tuesday may mean nothing, one can imagine that sometimes it can be a very big deal. Any medical malpractice attorney with two functioning synapses would have a field day with these sort of errors, not to mention the undeniable fact that this simply isn’t good medicine.

The larger question for me during this experience is whether the vaccine I got 10 months before had conferred any residual immunity. Clearly, based on the data, the immune response fades over time, so was I protected at all? I have no idea, but what I am quite pleased with is being fit and of normal weight. I was far to the right on the Covid Severity graph, and there is no explanation for that other than the randomness of the disease, but I imagine I would have fared worse had I been fat and unfit.

Could have I avoided hospitalization were other therapies available to me? Perhaps. Monoclonal Antibodies were not available, but neither would they have been the first choice because of the severity of my symptoms. HCQ and Ivermectin? The data on HCQ is sort of crappy, although because it is quite safe there is no particular need for it to be strictly controlled. Ivermectin is another case entirely, with its use a disgusting political football. Other countries have had good outcomes with it, and it is undeniably a safe drug, so absent clear and convincing evidence that it does not work, there is no medical reason for its restriction.

The politics of medicine has roared to the forefront, with the vaccines presented as the Holy Grail against Covid, and Ivermectin and a few other therapies presented by an insanely partisan media as some sort of nefarious plot by the far right to undermine SCIENCETM.

A rational analysis of the science, without the vile politics and craven behavior of the bureaucracy in support of their partners in Pharma, or the craziness of the anti-vax purity brigade yields some pretty basic facts.

  • The vaccines are modestly effective but their protection fades over time.
  • The vaccines should be given to high-risk people first, and then to the general population.
  • The risk-benefit analysis strongly suggests that the vaccine should not be given to children.
  • The virus is rapidly mutating (as most viruses do) to a more infectious and benign form.
  • The current vaccines are probably not as effective against the current strains.
  • There are mature, very safe medications that seem to be of benefit against Covid that should be considered for use, just like the other new high-priced therapies that don’t have the safety records of the older medications.

Pharma will do what any corporation will do…maximize profit. I have no problem with that. What I have a huge problem with is the revolving door between government regulators and cushy jobs in Pharma, and even worse, the ability of regulators and our oh-so-honest politicians to profit from investments in the very companies they regulate.

Until the blatant corruption in the system is minimized we cannot trust the basic science being used in support of therapies recommended by our government medical bureaucracy. It is profoundly, irreparably corrupt, and until it is burned to the ground and rebuilt with high walls between Pharma and government we will continue to see these insane disconnects between good medicine and government action.

43 Welcome back, CBD! You've been missed.

I have been leary of the electronic medical records from the git go. Not because of your experience, although I am now, but because of my paranoia about electrical failures. Yes, it is to my benefit that my preferred hospital, my personal care physician, and my many specialists are all members of the same organization. My dialysis center is independent of all medical affiliations, but cooperates with every medical organization in Omaha. So everyone involved has instant access to my medical records, which is to my benefit. But I still have large reservations about no more physical records. Of course, I'm dead any way if there is an emp attack because I am totally dependent on a dialysis machine, but even fore my kidneys wrapped out on me, I was leary. Maybe I've read too many stories about NorK ambitions or Muslim religious insanity.

53 or the craziness of the anti-vax purity brigade

No one can show an honest accounting of the how many people experience side effects from the jabs, nor how severe they are. And this in regards to the short time affects.

We'll start to see the mid term effects soon, but the notion of injecting billions of people with a drug that had essentially no animal or human testing is insane.

And especially because this isn't a vaccine. Take small pox as a counter example - the worst the small pox vaccine could do is...give you small pox. And, it did - not surprisingly bad things happen when you rush medicine.

But an mRNA gene therapy? We literally have no idea what effects we will see 5 years from now.

55 I've been sick with mild to moderate flu-like symptoms for about 3 weeks. This is nothing like the frequent bronchitis bouts I have every other year.

The biggest impediment is the fatigue. I could sleep for days. But I can't.

At this point, even with a negative Covid test, I wonder if I really do have a mild case. I am not vaxxed and do not plan to be jabbed. But I don't want to go to a testing facility (again) and sit around a bunch of people who are most likely sick. Frankly, I don't trust the tests to begin with.

I keep saying it but none of this has ever made sense. And the political dimension to Covid is indisputable at this point.

Ah, "long covid". Why do we never get browbeaten by the concept of "long flu" which also can have sequelae and long lasting effects. One would think there were no bad outcomes from good old influenza. Such crap.

Posted by: CN...FJB at January 16, 2022 12:25 PM (ONvIw)

63 One quibble, any of the "vaccines", prophylactic therapeutics, or whatever a semantic taffy yank would yield as the proper term, probably don't stand up to a risk/benefit analysis for the general population, and certainly not those under ..... 40? 50?

Clearly not those under 30. Special cases excepted, as always.

But on the "risk" side of the ledger for these demos C19 was less than influenza, last time I looked. "Flu shots"* are not reco'd for healthy 27 years olds, or teenagers - same with shingles shots, or pneumonia shots. For a reason.

How does precisely that same reason not apply here? Note: if these vaccine-like things do not prevent transmission, then logically there is nearly zero "public health" reason for all but the most vulnerable demos to get them.

* long suspected lack of efficacy confirmed by massive UK study on mortality, I believe.

77 probably don't stand up to a risk/benefit analysis for the general population

In non-clown world the government would have started at least two, large, multi-year studies, one by skeptics and one by proponents, that would determine total impact of the jabs - with severe criminal penalties for not being transparent with the underlying data.

Right now we could literally pull up a webform, enter your age, weight and other health factors, and get spit out a list of probabilities of death/injury with or from the shot and COVID.

We don't have this because the people in the government don't want it. And there are no positive answers to why they wouldn't want it.

99 Speaking as someone who works in "big pharma" and yes, worked on the vaccine clinical trials - the "cushy" relationship between regulators and pharma - simply doesn't exist at my level. In fact, regulatory audits are a downright horrifying proposition. Peoples' lives and careers have been absolutely ruined because of terrible regulatory audit performance and the dreaded "notice" that the agencies like to very publicly issue.
I have an MHRA audit coming up in two weeks. I've been ensuring that all of the relevant study documentation is filed in the Trial Master File and my training (yes, even my *required* DEI training) is current. Our mock audit is next week complete with a graded mock interview. During regulatory audit interviews, we're allowed to respond in only one of three ways: "Yes." "No." "I don't know." Anything else is expressly forbidden. We have a regulatory compliance representative in the room with us during the interview, along with legal counsel.
As far as the perception that there's a revolving door between regulatory and pharma, I don't see it at my level. I know of only one person who has worked at my company who has spent time at the FDA. My 2c.

103 18-1, just looking at the available data yields the observation I made. Based on such data, "calculators" were set up (South Dakota had one, I think FL too) showing "risk" (well, the proxy we use for risk) depending on the usual parameters: age, weight, common health issues like hypertension, diabetes, etc.

But I was referring to the obvious, known, broad outlines of the data. Back when I gave up on it, C19 was causing fewer fatalities or hospitalizations for under 30 than .... average influenza.

OK, class. Take that fact, now add that the "vaccines" don't prevent transmission.

The rest is left as a logical exercise for the class.

117 Regarding EHR systems - my role in the vaccine trials was to facilitate the integration of EHR data directly into the Clinical Data Management Systems that house the trial data that is ultimately used for analysis. The industry and regulatory has been pushing hard to bridge the gap between EHR and CDMS systems for a long time because the EHR data is demonstrably higher data quality than transcribed data from paper case report forms that are entered into our electronic data capture (CDMS) systems by site personnel. We have the metrics to prove this definitively. What is concerning to me - is that we spend a lot of time "cleaning" the data - ensuring things like a patient doesn't have a heart attack recorded before he was born... on the entered data, but there's a push to cut back on the amount of logic checks we do on EHR integrated data. Something I don't particularly agree with. I could write books on this topic but alas it's probably all very boring.

I had to correct my EHR four times after my wife retired and we lost Blue Cross insurance. Every time I went to any doctor it would pop back into the system and they would bill Blue Cross. It was frustrating and I can imagine how some really messed up stuff can happen with electronic records that could screw up treatment if you were in an emergency setting.

That's such an amazing statement. The second part completely contradicts the first part (literally, the jewish community was being held hostage by the muslim), but they 100% intend for people to just nod and accept it.

Excellent question, and one that obviously can't really be answered, but...

I was getting worse, and within 12 hours of treatment I was feeling much, much better.

Could I have weathered it? I just don't know. I firmly believe that I am going to live forever and nothing can hurt me, but damn...

I think what the FBI means is that the guy was singularly focused on freeing the Al Qaeda Queen, and the FBI doesn't think that motivation is antisemitic.

The fact that the Al Qaeda Queen demanded that no Jews be on her jury, and that she blamed Israel when she was convicted, is irrelevant.

149 Defenestratus, thanks for that insight from direct knowledge.

While at the very very top there is a Third World-level outrageous appearance of conflict of interest (which is the standard), such as the clown who was an FDA official and now the board of Pfizer (could be getting those details wrong, but it's essentially that type of situation) who relentlessly argued the illogical and data- and epidemiology-free line (Scott somebody), that may not really tell the story.

"Corruption" doesn't begin to explain most of the toxic behavior, by individuals and institutions. It's desperately optimistic to think so. A working majority of people actually are as (variously) ignorant, paranoid, power-mad, authoritarian, and unhinged as they appear.

Very healthy, strong people have a hard time grasping that they have to heal and build back again after major illness or trauma. You don't just get out of bed and go running down the street again, it takes time for your body to heal and be ready to go again.

Its like emotional trauma: you cannot just go out and date again after losing your beloved wife or being dumped by the girl of your dreams. You took tremendous damage emotionally and spiritually. It takes time to heal. Give it time.

Ivermectin is not such a clear case as I think they had already cheated the senile pervert into office before most people heard of it. But even though Trump has never pushed ivermectin, and in fact pushed the vaccines, the FNM complex has decided that people who reject the vaccine narrative from government and FNM are in the "basket of deplorables" that vote for non beltway club members such as Trump and must be demonized. If vaccinated people are also getting sicker than need be, they are just collateral damage in the war on the deplorables

All of the "mitigation" - every single aspect of it, everywhere on earth - has not been shown to have had *any* effect whatsoever, on any aspect of the phenomenon.

And most of the costs are related to these illiterate and ill-considered mitigation attempts.

It's a central question. Every aspect of Sweden's (and a few other jurisdictions') experience to date offers zero support for the assertion that "mitigation" did any mitigating. And there's no "signal" in any of the data showing any effect in hard-core fake public health areas, either. 219 CBD, thanks, but I was asking what is the public health rationale for *compelling* vaccination in this instance?

"Choice" is the logical conclusion of a serious analysis of the situation, but I'm wondering what logical reasoning I'm missing that makes mandating vaccines for healthy younger people sane, in any framework. They face little risk, they get little benefit. The shots don't prevent transmission.

What's the reasoning for even suggesting, much less requiring, this demo (i.e., much of society) get the shot(s)?

And not sure about hospitalization, but I believe two very large British and Dutch studies of decades of data reveal no mortality reduction from flu shots.

The restriction of off-label medication because of politics (and profits) while fully embracing off-label medication for politics such as tranny kids is what has damaged them the most to me. The article linked in comment #111 addresses it nicely, and has some really good points. Getting the Omicron version has been seen to be an effective protection from the earlier, more deadly, version, e.g Delta. See Dr. John Campbell's videos on youtube.

How costly is the test to determine exact strain? and how long does it take?

I suspect that the chances of you getting an unfortunate side effect is higher than the odds of you dying from the Wuhan Flu, but the odds of the shot killing you is about the same or less.

This is important to remember. This stuff has become so politicized that you can fully trust NOTHING you hear about it. Not stats, not info on how safe or danger it is, how many died or did not die, how well or poorly the vaccine works, none of it. Not one thing.

Every single main source has its bias, and the nature of this has them pushing a certain point of view to the exclusion of other points of view. Analysis like ace or CBD does or others can be totally honest and balanced as they are trying hard to be, but they are dealing with biased, dishonest sources of information.

My sainted mother was a RN for 50 years at the same hospital. The first 30 years of her career were in the ER. I did not fully realize what that demonstrated about her character until I listened to the praise given by so many people at her funeral. Doctors, fellow nurses, police and firefighters all had stories to tell about their experiences with her.

285 But the incidents of bad effects directly attributable to the shot are relatively few if highly publicized on right leaning sites and social media posts.

I suspect that the chances of you getting an unfortunate side effect is higher than the odds of you dying from the Wuhan Flu, but the odds of the shot killing you is about the same or less.

287 Re: supplementing vitamin C - maybe for acute reasons, but if you are regularly supplementing vitamin C, you need to change what you're eating. C is incredibly easy to get: tropical fruits, cruciferous veggies, even corn, have vitamin C. You need to be eating those, not pasta and bread except as a treat to go along with those things (you know, like a Reuben with kraut (which is fermented white cabbage, a cruciferous veggie)).

This whole thing stinks to high heaven with the only approach used here being the clot shot. Hopefully one day we'll see Dr Fuacia swinging from a rope.

Well, let's put it this way. The side effects of the shot are unusual for something being labeled a vaccine, but its not unusual for a medical treatment. If you take a pill to fix something on you, chances are you'll have at least one of the side effects (diarrhea, dry mouth, dizziness, uneven tire wear, etc). Its normal to feel SOME side effects from medicine.

There's a criteria for a medicine that gets pulled and "makes you feel bad briefly or have a side effect of any sort" is not sufficient.

301 I am currently in Day 7 of my bout with the 'Rona. Went to the ER on Day 1 because I had rapidly spiked a 101.5 fever. Since I was dealing with injuries suffered on NYE, I wanted to make sure that they hadn't turned septic. I popped positive for the 'Vid instead. My O2 levels were normal, and I could still take deep breaths, so they gave me scrips for an inhaler and a cough suppressant to use "when needed." They didn't even ask if I was vaxxed (I'm not.) I felt perfectly fine at discharge. The head congestion hit the next day, along with the aches and fatigue. I finally developed the "Covid Cough" on Day 3, which at first was just an occasional cough. Yesterday was horrible -- I had an attack that went on for 10 minutes and I thought I was going to pass out because I couldn't catch my breath, and the fever spiked again. I am not looking forward to the next few weeks.

307 Our son and his fiancée came down with omicron last Tuesday. She was at home in SC, and they had the same symptoms. Son had severe chills and a fever of 100.7, a headache, and fatigue. I ran over and gave him Zicam, D3, quercetin, Gatorade, and lots of soup.

He was much, much better the next day, with a very mild fever and body aches, and by Thursday felt completely well, but had to quarantine.

He was double vaxxed at the VA, but I urged him not to get the booster because of the risk of mitochondrial issues, and so he didn't get the third jab.

He said the omicron was no worse than the last flu bug or really nasty cold he had.

So far, husband and I continue being busy and out and about maskless. Taking elderberry, zinc, D3, and C since the Wuhan flu hit our shores.

But even so, I had horse wormer around 15 years ago when a flu did hit me pretty hard. And what is up with docs not telling people to take D, C and zinc along with the fluids? Do they have to worry that retards will take 10 to 20 times as much as recommended to try to super speed recovery?

The most evil aspect of this unlimited warfare is that creating civilian deaths are part of The Great Reset. Billions must die.

But there's no virus in the injection, so why is it hurting people so badly? And why are people just accepting that it's going to damage them?

I will largely agree with this. The elderly and the immunocompromised should probably take it. As for the alliance, definitely and sometimes it's rather a subtle alliance. Not always major investors or kick backs. DC pols need to take a look at their staff's connections as they trust CoS and legislative aides and lean on them. It would be nice if they tried to hire their state's "home team", but as soon as they get to DC they hire PR people from big blue cities. They are nominally republican and rarely conservative.

I suspect that we'll reach a time when Big Pharma's lust for money and pushing their product will come into direct contradiction with the left's lust for power and money. And when that happens, we'll see all the facts coming out about extortion, fraud, lies, corruption, and manipulation of data in a series of investigations and congressional hearings.

Because right now, the Democrats are trying really hard to push the "we beat Covid, reelect us!" narrative, and Big Pharma is pushing the "WE'RE ALL GOING TO DIE" narrative still.

I think it is probably worthwhile for certain cohorts, but with the rapidly evolving virus and a one-year-old vaccine based on a small bit of antigen, it's hard to argue with your point.

Price might have something to do with it.

424 glad u are better CBD. but honestly, i cannot understand why folks aren't following the common-sense approach to Covid immunity. its been well published for a couple years already... here it is again:

zinc: 25-30 mg per day.
vit D3: 1000-5000 IU per day.
vit C: 100-500 mg per day but only with flavinoids (like Ester-C) to avoid flushing out. Vit C is a water-soluble acid and must digest in the intestine to give optimum results. If large amounts of just the acid are ingested, it most likely will secrete out the urinary tract causing damage such as UTIs.
quercetin: any natural form (elderberry, tea, wine, okra, etc...) or as a supplement. dosage varies greatly, but the supplements sold in Walmart are good at one or two per day.

that's it. not rocket science. simple biomechanics. but, as i studied in anthropology over 30 + years ago, daily zinc uptake varies hugely by demographics. AND... zinc is the key to immune health. i've taken zinc daily since a teen, and NEVER have had the flu.
i posted this almost two years ago. just a reminder...

UPDATE: Dr Zelenko has also published his reminders about zinc at The Gateway Pundit.

Part of it being worse is there are no more shutdowns in states (last year, only about 10 states were actually open in the winter in any real form vs almost 50 now)...I mean, of all the "mitigation", shutdowns do make it seem like you're doing "better" b/c it's hard to pass a virus if no one ever sees anyone else. And with shutdowns, any virus in the air is in lower densities so folks were getting lower exposure when they caught the disease. And lower exposure normally means lower effect.

That said, shutdowns are a delay mechanism, not an actual stoppage...so comparing any period of shutdown with openness is always going to be difficult...

430 nova local, your musings are reasonable, in an a priori way, but not really rigorous - and there is no real-world experience that confirms them.

Yes there is a probably insuperable problem in getting "clean" comparisons, and good (comparable) test and control groups, etc., when dealing with mass public health measures.

But there's been a century of observation and actual research including RCTs on most "mitigation" measures, none of them have ever been validated as worthwhile. And there have been large RCTs done in the present situation (including masks) that .... yield exactly the same results as decades of research and observation have done.

It's simply not the case that a *prevalent* highly transmissible virus is "mitigated" by lockdowns. There's no evidence for it, there's tons of evidence to the contrary. Sweden had the lowest "excess deaths" in western Europe, and one of the mildest winter health seasons in 20 years, while doing almost nothing. This is not an outlier, it is very on-point, and there are lots of similar smaller/dirtier stories with other jurisdictions - no "mitigation", results indistinguishable from other places, or better.

Ok, I get your point. I guess it seems that 'anti-vax'-to me at least-anyone who questions getting the vax. Maybe I need to stop using the media's definitions regarding this entire subject. Thx.

A lot of people firmly oppose vaccines being mandatory, and think they are only useful in certain populations anyway. I'm one of them. I'm over 65, and got the Moderna when it came out, but would not force anyone else to.

Other people seem to think vaccines are the work of a secret Satanic cabal, full of little pointy spikes, and are a lethal threat to our Precious Bodily Fluids.

I really don't think these categories should be lumped together under "anti-vax."

432 To me Anti vaxx are those who will not take any vaccine and claim that all vaccines are killers or make kids autistic.

If the covid was as dangerous as they first tried to make out that it was and catching it was a 1/5 chance of dying then I'd be getting the vaxx already. That said as time goes by, ON THE CDC'S own website and VAERS reporting you can see that this vaccine is out of the ordinary as to the number deaths and injuries compared to previous vaccines and years going back quite a ways.

This means that little is being told to people on what the risks are compared to what the odds of catching the virus and having a bad result. The claim that the vaxx lessens the impact is not true. The reason so many vaxxed were not getting the virus was because they wouldn't have gotten it without the vaxx for whatever reason. Immunity or the ability to fight off a covid infection doesn't necessarily come from having a previous covid -19 infection. They 're finding that other infections can give a person a degree of immunity to the covid. The omicron is suspected of immunizing large numbers of people with mild symptoms.

433 It seems to me that in general the people who are the nastiest are the people who've been vaxxed and demand that the unvaxxed be forced to get vaxxed.

There is no scientific rationale for anyone to take the vaxx as far as any effect on someone who is already vaxxed. We see now that the vaxxed can get infected and more than once. And that they can carry a larger viral load than an unvaxxed person because they will not have as noticeable symptoms.

As I said if the covid was a killer then they wouldn't have to try to coerce people into getting the vaxx.

434 "No, I don't. I think that the number of people, even on this blog, who are bitterly, nastily critical of anyone who entertains the notion of getting vaccinated is a testament to exactly the insanity I referred to."

Bull hockey.

You can get as many jabs as you want...doesn't matter to me (or anyone I know) At. All.
Your body, your choice.

However, it's People of the Lie (mRNA gene therapy treatment re: "Vaccine's") who are the rabid ones...(45% in a recent poll believe the un-vaxed should be forced into "designated facilities")...

Maybe that's why Congress and the Senate have exempted themselves from The Jab, since Big Pharma won't reveal what's inside the vials until 75 years from now.

435 To persist in referring to the injection as a vaccine promotes the propaganda.
It is like calling a starling a crow.
Very glad you made it through; the virus is no joke no matter which variant.

436 Great report, CBD. Several boosted relatives have had Omicron now, but it sounds to me like you got Delta.

438 Vitamin C, Zinc, Vitamin D.

Did they actually prescribe these for you or did you have to ask/demand? Or did you just sneak them in with you?

439 What was the anti-clot shot for, some condition of yours or from one of the meds?

So glad you are feeling better!

440 Swedes get a lot of vitamin D in their diets. kids are supplemented in day school. They eat little fishes, and a lot of fortified dairy products. Fresh air and excercise is just baked into the torta.

It probably helps.

441 Is no one here aware of the simple things that can and should be be done as early treatment for Covid?

442 I received the first two shots, as did my son. He got sick while he was home for Christmas and tested positive. He was pretty bad for a couple of days and then got better--not the sickest he's ever been, but probably top five.

Since I had been in almost constant contact with him and then took care of him afterward, I assumed I'd test positive and didn't bother with getting tested until he recovered. I developed a sore throat and some congestion but not even equal to a bad cold. After my son tested negative, I got tested too, just so I could quit isolating. I was negative, so I'm not sure I ever had it, but I think it was a very mild case.

The vaccines presumably reduced the severity for both of us and maybe even kept me from getting it at all. I got the booster two days ago, and I felt terrible the rest of that day and night and still had no energy for another 24 hours. I'm not getting another booster until they come up with something that lasts more than six months. I felt worse from it than I ever did taking care of my son.

443 CBD -- Very happy you fared your ordeal week enough. I am fat and unfit, and was fat and unfit when I got the Wuhan Flu back last spring. I had horrendous gastro intestinal issues -- think Norovirus but over five days days instead of six hours. I -- thank God -- did not wind up in the emergency room. I was terribly dragass, practically immobilized tired ,for a week, exhausted for another, and just plain tired for another two weeks after that. I'm even fatter and more unfit thanks to the whole lockdown.

BTW, housing still sucks here on Idaho.

444 "I'm glad you fared your ordeal WELL enough."

Perhaps because I'd been on high-dose vitamin D for several months before I got the Wuhan Flu, and had been taking zinc, vitamin C, and quercetin when I did get, I did okay. The worst part (even worse than the copious emesis and the diarrhea that was like a six-day colonoscopy prep) was the fear that I was going to die. Thanks to the nuts in the news. I had to remind myself that the overall case fatality rate was, like, 1%, so the odds were in my favor.

And tired as I was, I had a terrible time sleeping. I had read that sleeping on your back was bad, and sleeping on your side only mildly better. I couldn't sleep because I wanted to make sure I stayed on my stomach.

I had tinitus up until recently. I actually kind of missed it when it cleared. Something also seems to have changed in my "gut flora" that is actually an improvement.

445 It's always possible that the reason your experience was on the bad side was... you were vaccinated. There's plenty of evidence to indicate that vaxxing undermines natural immunity.

I'm 69 and have just come off a five day bout with the dread Omicron. Didn't even end up bedridden but was horribly low energy for three days, low grade fever, head and body aches. Worse than a cold, much easier than a flu. I've been slamming 4000 iu D, 3,000 mg C, 50 mg zinc, 250 mg Quercetin and regularly cleansing my nostrils and gargling after being out and about as preventatives.

When I got sick I bumped up the zinc and Quercetin to 2x/day and added more C and D as well. After Day #2 I wondered whether I should start the big guns, but in the end never felt bad enough to break out the IVM, Azithromycin, or fluvoxamine I've stockpiled for my wife and I.

Could all be luck and maybe I'll get the next escape variant. Don't know, of course. What I DO know is that I'm never going to get jabbed. FTS.
