Border Collie Boss Cafe

greecebeach.jpg

The description said that was a beach in Greece. I thought it might be good to stop posting the winter scenes.

More specifically, from Salty Dog:

That beach is Navagio Beach, on the island of Zakynthos in the Ionian Sea.

One of the most famous locations in Greece.

French mastiff growls at any attempt to move him off his sleeping place, which is your sleeping place.

Pranking your dog by pretending to talk on the phone in a conversation all about getting the leash and going for a walk and being ready for food.

Neat: 40 pound border collie absolutely bosses and bullies 900 pound steers. He's got to keep them all back so his owner can open the gate without them running off. It's pretty wild how he just goes after the cattle the moment they even look at him defiantly.

Cat does gymnastics routine on the uneven chair arms.

Tiny dog just kong-jumps down the stairs.

Cat is annoyed by some kind of weasel.

Hunter deer.

Cat reminds you, in least annoying way possible, that he is ready to eat whenever you stop being a selfish asshole and get back to tending to his needs.

Ruffians! Jackanapes!

Cat is freaked out by Mexican-style skeletal cat statue.

Inman: You f***ed with the wrong car, Hoss. The blacked-out windows should have been a hint.

You picked the wrong low-paid, low-frustration-threshold security guard to antagonize, Chief.

You picked the wrong cheap $3 handbag to grab, Big-Guy.

You absolutley picked the wrong neighborhood to steal a phone in, Buster. Or maybe you picked the wrong girl -- she's cute. Maybe this is a There's Something About Mary situation and she's surrounded by ten admirer-stalkers at all times.

7 Stupid daughter and SIL have moved the goalposts again. We had made reservations to fly out and see the new grandbaby. They told us today that we would have to take a rapid COVID test when we get off of the plane if we want to see him.

Mind you, I have already gotten a vaccine and a booster - against my will - in order to see this baby, and was told that was good enough.

So the trip has been cancelled.

Hopefully I will get to see my grandson before he graduates college.

Yeah, the whole thing seems kind of designed to either be a loyalty test or enough hoops to throw up to make you not go. I don't have a good answer, but as with a lot of things, the more people tell me not to do something, it makes me want to do it anyway.

192 Had forgotten how much good re-enactment effort went into A Bridge Too Far - no CGI back then of course. But they really did a drop with at least a dozen or more C-47s (or equivalents appropriately liveried), and it looks like they did an actual huge drop. And lots and lots of (Allied) armor. Even the enormous number of extras in certain scenes is something you don't see much any more.

Marrying up that kind of material commitment with some GCI and today's vastly better combat recreations woulda been something.

Whatshisname as Monty is odd, he's got the voice and mannerisms down but the appearance is so dramatically different that it doesn't work on some level.

202 I would add the provision that graffiti "artists" who are caught "tagging" freight cars should be tied up and laid on the tracks Snidely Whiplash style, run over by the train, and their bits and pieces left to rot and stink in the sun and be eaten by rats and crows, and eventually their bleached skulls to decorate the ditch light mounts on every locomotive.

I love trains. I hate graffiti.

I think so. There were so many twists and turns I forget but I do remember they got their 60 votes after Arlen Specter flipped to the Democrat party and Franken got elected and they bribed a few Democrat Senators with pork.

They are sneaky bast@rds but how they thought they were going to get Manchin to end the filibuster when he's been saying forever he wouldn't proves they aren't as smart as we give them credit for sometimes.

Libertarians and Socialists are both are fleeing responsibility, Socialists by hiding in a faceless group and the Libertarians by refusing to accept any responsibility for their actions and the consequences. The communist ideal is just heaven on earth. But the means to the end brings hell on earth, and makes no progress to the end.

The elite lifestyle we see *is* the libertarian ideal - nobody can tell these people what to do, and they have no ethics to hold them back. Thus Epstein and his girls for sale, Trans encouraging kids to mutilate themselves mentally and physically. The only crime is the victims using force to stop them.

(The shear was a cool machine, it crumched the tie with 2 xrumpchers, then the blades pushed two pies to either side of the track, leaving one small chunk in the middle) the pieces were buried on site, 100% trash. But burned a hella fire for camping! Creosote dogs! Yum!

I got cited for theft of rr property and given a court date. My super at work (i was 19 working the summer for Conrail) pre-dated a tie release giving me permission to take them. With all coalitions come change and the current fight in the LP is between the Pragmatists and the Mises Caucus. The current trend is towards Mises Caucus.

There is a saying that everyone is conservative about their specialty.

Groupthink and status affirming statements aside, there is always the question of what the frack is a non-libertarian doing defining what is and is not libertarianism?

"They are all just a bunch of amoral shirkers who approve of Fentanyl and bestiality" is an ad hominem attack, not a well stated defense of conservative thought in the face of destabilizing change.

383 Libertarianism is a matter of degree.

The problem is that it's basically meaningless today because everyone thinks liberty means "I get to do whatever I want to do".

The United States of America were founded on God-given Rights. Which means you need a God who thinks enough of His Creation to grant them Rights. It also means, and this is where most everyone who calls themselves "libertarian" loses the plot, that your claim to Rights is limited to those which that particular God would grant.

I let the libertarians define Libertarianism - the only standard is the banning of the use of force in human action. No force, morally OK.

When I was reading up on the subject, I got a hold of a book called "Defending the Undefendable" from a Libertarian printing house sold by a Libertarian catalog. It was full of defenses of stealing, counterfeiting, pimping, and any number of things based in defying generally accepted moral principles.

That's exactly what the Leftists have been doing for their own uses, of course, they just are better at it.

So, alcohol basically saved civilization - because for centuries simple water from where-ever it was used - in soup or cleaning wounds or just to satisfy thirst was undrinkable and carried the bacteria that infected many and killed many more. Only alcohol cleansed these liquids and was universally used to satisfy the need to counter dehydration at work. Sorry Mr. Liver, but dying of dehydration and bacterial infection was a more serious threat in the 1300's to 1800's.

Alcohol gets a bum rap because Carrie Nation women propaganda to this day - but the bottom line is, whether women want to believe it or not, there would be not civilization to support their efforts if it wasn't for alcohol - copious quantities of it as the liquor list from the first Constitutional Convention in the 1790's is any indication....
