It went completely nuts.
UK residents were left reeling after a crazed gray squirrel went on a wild Christmas rampage in Buckley, Wales, injuring a staggering 18 people in two days. Facebook posts detailing Rocky's reign of terror are going viral.
"Warning, vicious squirrel that attacks," wrote Nicola Crowther in the Buckley Residents Facebook Group on Dec. 26 along with a grainy photo of the furry culprit on a fencepost. "Has bitten me, attacked my friend ... and multiple other people."
"It's also attacked my two Bengals, who fear nothing, and my neighbors' Bengal cats," she added. "Dare not go out of my house, as it's lurking."

"Dare not." I wish we retained some British constructions.

In some places the reefs and bottom contours create lanes where surfers can paddle out in between the huge breakers, but in many places they need to be inserted, towed in by a jet-ski, from the side, more or less.

A neat little surf movie from years back is "Step Into Liquid". Mostly about an older surf star in his later years, as I recall, but ends with a nice little segment on then-top rank surfers rushing to San Diego to get on a boat and go out to the Cortez Bank, a reef off San Clemente Island, which only breaks once in a while (and is yuuugge when it does).

212 I had a local squirrel I thought was showing rabid behaviors (trying to stand and teetering drunkenly). Didn't want it infecting local pets so I called Animal Control.

They said squirrels are too far down "the chain" to actually contract rabies and it probably had distemper, which has similar symptoms.
