Saving a sickly, terrified shelter puppy.

Bunny makes the move.

Enjoying a scritch.

Dancin' elk.

Putting a moat in front of a door won't stop this cat.

Dog has some problem-solving skills, too.

Cat joins a goat rodeo.

This monkey, too.

Dogs using teamwork to do some mischief.

Dog keeps attacking a dust devil. And yet they fear vacuum cleaners!

193 NaCly, ha! Hadn't heard that. Just happened to read about Fairbanks' first sea deployment last night, aboard a (new) destroyer in 1941, North Atlantic. Despite being a sailor, he got wicked sea-sick for some of the mission. Destroyer also lost its propulsion for a while, and they floated, sitting ducks, for a while (though fog helped). Drifted to British side of Mid-Ocean Meeting Point (where convoy escort was handed off to the RN).

This was pre-December 7 (or 10, I guess, more to the point), but after a U-boat had sunk the USS Reuben James in November (for which the U-boat skipper got a chewing out). So Fairbanks and the others were understandably a bit concerned about drifting, mid-Atlantic.

Fairbanks was quoted as saying he hoped he looked like he knew what he was doing, standing on the bridge, scanning the ocean with binoculars - he hadn't been assigned a battle station and wanted to look busy and involved.

He puts out press releases constantly about the Jan 6th "unselect committee" as he calls it but no media covers it. He gets so censored he has had to create his own media company, that's where we are right now.

201 Book where I just read about Fairbanks Jr's first naval experience is "The Allies Strike Back" by James Holland. His style is readable, though it can get dizzying (he incorporates zillions of small individual accounts and stories to help tell the history). I read his stuff as a break from footnote-heavy WWII history. His podcast (We Have Ways of Making You Talk) is also very good (all WWII, all the time).

His 2 books on the Italian campaign (Sicily 1943 and Italy's Sorrow) are both very good, and at points a bit more in-depth, given the narrower focus.

No, but I did live in neighboring Minnesota through the 2010s and looked into Sioux Falls when the time came to get serious about relocation. My appraisal of the state is that the western half (around Rapid City) is awesome, great scenery, and full of bikers and other freedom-lovin' types but not a lot of jobs. The eastern half (around Sioux Falls) is at risk of becoming libbed up but the entire state population is less than a major city so that'll slow it down.

Sioux Falls has a yuge banking and fintech boom going on right now. Basically Wells Fargo and one or two others figured out that Minneapolis is a shithole and Chicago is an even bigger shithole, and they've been moving their operations there with all their myriad vendors, subsidiaries, and partners tagging along. It's also something of a tax haven which banks naturally love.

"Vaccination" %s notwithstanding. AFAIK, this is the pattern everywhere (surprise!). Suppose I'll have to finally re-engage the real analysts/observers on this thing and see where things stand. But I don't believe there is any evidence of benefit from "vaccination", on a national level, visible in the macro data .

* a ridiculous mess of inaccurate tests, changing standards, varying thresholds, such that it will probably end up being *less* accurate than the annual estimates of influenza infection, despite 100,000 times as much "data"

346 Re: Joe Xiden's naked pessimism - we have to have media if we want to compete. Once there's a strong product in the fractured conservative tech world, and a good community of practice, they *will* create an open platform and ecosystem which will open up the space to conservative ideology in software: entrepreneurship across all walks of life.

But it will need to offer genuinely disruptive technology eventually... they don't have that yet so that's where the grift smell comes from. At this point the audience needs them. To expand beyond that, they need breakthrough tech.

347 Those Nordstrom Rack Hobo Wallets are made out of straight up, Top Grain Nauga.

Which is most unfortunate. Nauga has been on the Endangered Species List for years, and with good reason.

Help stop the poaching of the wild Nauga, for their precious Hydes!

350 You need rich Corinthian hobo skins. Hand massaged. Vegetable tanned.

If you get a Stelter pelter, it would be big through the hips. Roomy.

351 AOP has so many talents, I had trouble assigning him to just one critical role. Perhaps he should be team overseer.

Hmm, I suspect you are correct. AtC as bouncer?

357 My name is Rachael dazalma from Mississippi, United state. I was diagnosed with Herpes early this year in 2021 and the doctor told me herpes has no cure. I kept searching for any possible cure. While searching, I came across lots of reviews on facebook about how doctor DOUGRAY used herbal medicine to cure different people from Herpes and other diseases. I made an order for the herpes cure eraser and I received it 5 days later, I took the medicine for 9 days as instructed. While taking the medicine, I noticed some changes in my body. I used the medicine during the outbreak and the outbreak stopped completely. all the itching and pain was gone completely. When I was done taking the herbal medicine, I went for a test and I was confirmed Herpes negative "totally cured". Before I made an order for herbal medicine, I promised Dr DOUGRAY that if his product actually worked for me I was going to share the testimony through all social media so lots of people can be aware that Herpes is curable. you can contact dr dougray via Email: drdougray@gmail.com
