Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | The Morning RantTHE DISEASE IS REAL, THE PANDEMIC IS FAKE I submit that the current Covid-19 "pandemic" is not a real pandemic. They're making it difficult to know the actual number of deaths. The number currently being kicked around is 6 or 700,000, but I hear that many cases are caused by another condition with Covid being an exacerbating factor, Also, I've heard about financial incentives to report deaths as Covid deaths in order to receive money from the federal government. So we really don't know how accurate the statistics are, or how to correct them to get the right number. If this were a real pandemic, we would not have seen the politicization/corruption of lockdown rules, where some business are allowed to operate and some aren't. Only "essential" businesses are allowed to remain open, as if the virus would honor such a distinction, and also, it would be a good investigative project for journalists to find out how much money was passed under the table to to get one business declared "essential" and another one denied. If this were a real pandemic, everybody without exception would be locked down. If it were truly that bad, there wouldn't be any exceptions. Meanwhile, motorcycle rallies in red states are immediately declared in the media to be "superspreader" events, while BLM riots are upscale no-mask parties in blue states are somehow immune. Again, the virus somehow knows which one is which. If this were a real pandemic, there wouldn't be any photos of elected officials and other swells partying down in maskless venues. Or, worse yet, partying down while being waited on subserviently by masked handmaids. You have to ask, don't they have any clue how bad that looks?" If this were a real pandemic, there wouldn't be any of this "masks for thee, but not for me" nonsense. If this were a real pandemic, they'd be locked down, too. They'd lock themselves down. They're such ginormous cowards. Watching how badly they freaked out over J6, if they really thought their lives were at risk, they'd be spending most of their time hiding under their desks. They're obviously not taking taking it seriously. Which is why I don't take the "pandemic" seriously. If this were a real pandemic, they wouldn't be playing 3-card monte with the definition of vaccine. I've heard that the FDA had to change the definition of vaccine in order to get the "vaccines" approved for distribution. In fact, I wouldn't even call them vaccines. They're probably more like gene therapy than what we've traditionally known as vaccines. If this were a real pandemic, there wouldn't have been the constant gaslighting about vaccines in general. I'm old enough to remember when vaccines actually prevented disease. That is, if you received the polio vaccine, you wouldn't get polio. I just got my tetanus booster a couple of years ago, so now I know I won't get tetanus. That's the whole point of a vaccine. Or whooping cough, or tetanus vaccines. But now they're saying oh no, you have to continue to mask even if you've been vaccinated. But why should I have to, you might ask. You can still be asymptomatic but still spread the disease to others, we're told. But I thought the whole point of vaccination is to prevent people from getting the disease. And now here it comes: that's not what the vaccine does, we're told. What the "vaccines" do is lessen, not prevent, infection from Covid, attenuate whatever symptoms you experience should you be infected, and decrease the probability that you'll have to be hospitalized. And then they pretend that this is the way vaccines have always worked, so shut up. And worse. I wish I had saved the tweet (so I could show it to you) from a guy claiming to be an MD expert in virology and immunology that said "What is this 'natural immunity' that people keep talking about?" Not to mention the tweet from the MD (again, I wished I had saved it) who claimed that the Covid "vaccines" provided better protection against Covid than natural immunity. No, I'm not making that up. I suppose we should be grateful he at least knew what natural immunity was. If this were a real pandemic, the medical/regulatory establishment would not have declared war on ivermectin and hydroxychloroquine. They'd be experimenting with both and with other with all sorts of treatments, hoping to hit on something that actually works. But that's not the case. Apparently there's so much pressure being exerted from somewhere high up, it's tough to find a doctor who will prescribe them or a pharmacy who will sell them. This is completely insane, and I've never seen anything like it every before. It's not like these drugs are dangerous. At the prescribed dosages, they're safe. So the worst case scenario is that they'll do nothing. So if you've got the infection, you won't get better and you may have to go to the hospital. Which is pretty much what happens now. Patients who present with Covid are sent home and told to come back when they're sick enough to be hospitalized. If this were a real pandemic, "it's the vaccine or nothing" would not be the de facto national policy, enforced with a heavy hand and no dissent allowed, so shut up, peasant. If this were a real pandemic, public health would be the top priority, not the profits of Big Pharma. But I've ranted about this before. If this were a real pandemic, I don't think the FDA would not be clamoring to keep the documents relating to the approval for the Pfizer vaccine locked up for 55 years. Finally, if this were a real pandemic, it would not have degenerated into yet another blue vs. red fight. She left the entertainment business after 1972 to work in New York as a book and magazine illustrator. Also making a brief appearance was Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page, only it was with his old mates from the Yardbirds. I'm a fan of both, but in this movie, I have to say they didn't sound much better than a garage band. Perhaps that was by design. I looked up the "Excess Deaths" number. Turns out they only count excess deaths when the number of deaths for a given day this year exceeds the number of deaths on the same day the previous year. If the number is negative, i.e. the number this year is lower, they use 0 (zero) instead of subtracting from the running excess deaths total.

So we really don't know how accurate the statistics are, or how to correct them to get the right number.
++++ It can't be done, not anymore. The data collection was so sloppy that we can't really find out at this point. How many cycles on a PCR test? What comorbidities? What kind of duration was involved? What is the demographic information of the victim? What was the treatment? A lot of this wasn't recorded at all. At least some of what was recorded was false - either just wrong or deliberately falsified. There were - and are - massive incentives to pad the numbers. The data are a hopeless mess and it can't be fixed. There is some statistical work that could get us closer based on what *is* available, but it will never be good. It has all been too sloppy, too agenda-driven too poorly incentivized and more. For me the most damaging thing to come out of this is my newfound distrust of the medical field. Doctors were never perfect (far from it), but in this case they were the problem, not the solution.

Another sign it's not a real pandemic: The case numbers and death numbers go way down on the weekend. Why? 1. People don't bother to get tested on the weekend. Why ruin your days off when you can wait until Monday?; 2. The government agencies gathering the data don't think it's important enough to work weekends.

I think I am going to copy-paste this rant and send it directly to my company's HR Dept. Since as of 9:30am this morning the "COVID-19 Task Force Team" sent us e-mail "ACTION REQUIRED" that all salaried employees are to send in notification of vaccination status by DEC 4 and get vaccinated by JAN 5. Regardless of the fact that most of us have been working from home since March 13, 2020.
Motherfuckers. I've been through 2 years of soul-crushing, hope-destroying, completely emasculating unemployment back in 2009-2010. I *just* had my 10-year anniversary with the company 12 days ago. The EO handed off rule-writing to a Task Force, and the Task Force used definitions from the CDC. The Task Force rules mandate "fully vaccinated." So when the CDC changes the definition of "fully vaccinated" to include "booster in the past nine months" (or whatever they do), that will cascade down and immediately have force behind it for anyone subject to the mandate. Great law and accountability, there. Posted by: Joe Mannix (Not a cop!) at November 19, 2021 11:28 AM (DU+/6) 70

The thing about the number of deaths, and misreporting on them, is that we've had so many doctors and nurses come out and say the numbers are highly inflated, but the media just states they're all kooks. We've had world renowned scientist and virologist, who are now kooks. Doctors and nurses who have worked for decades with impeccable records, now kooks. But the 29 year olds, who dropped out of college after year 6 of thier media studies degree, those addre the brilliant minds we need to listen to as they give ther party line.

At some point, Covid-19 became a 'teachable' moment. The Deep State decided this was the perfect moment to teach the unwashed masses that when they said 'Jump' we were not to ask questions, just get airborne and anyone still on the ground seconds after the command would get knee-capped as a warning to the others.
No hydroxychloroquine or ivermection will be allowed because they decided only the vaccine is approved. And because their Pfizer stock pays well with those fat taxpayer checks rolling in. And the sooner they can 'train' us to 'Jump' on command, the sooner they can herd us into 400 square foot apartments in major cities where we will have to give up cars and air travel and leave the countryside for those who truly deserve it, namely, them. I also think that about the same number would have died without lockdowns masks, etc. Since most of the deaths were older sick people covid probably accelerated the death rate in the near term, and the rate will decline starting in 2022.

That a vaccine mandate even exists and was declared verifies there is no pandemic. I look at resumes at work. You should never have a resume longer than one page.
Big companies will send it first through HR for a keyword search and then those that survive the filters will go to managers who will throw out anything that's too much work. Small companies will hand them directly to managers who will throw them out if they're too much work. You can have a one-page cover letter that advertises some additional wizbang stuff you did. 116A sitting minority leader on the verge of a massive wave about to launch his party into the majority shouldn't have to do much but fundraise with rich donors to guarantee his ascension to the Speakership.
Posted by: TheJamesMadison, That in a nutshell is why Republicans in the House and Senate, by and large, do not represent their districts or states. The Democrat donor base is why that their little people in their coalition get the shaft; the Republican donor base is why their base voters get the shaft. Rand Paul, MTG, and perhaps a few others in very safe districts can represent their districts either because of controlling their own fundraising or being simpatico with their district. If you look at the traitorous 13 on the infrastructure bill, they are in purple districts requiring more donor funds to be competitive. Posted by: whig at November 19, 2021 11:47 AM (9hXN1) 197

Its almost as if they decided they needed a way to locate people who won't comply, identify them, punish them - ideally conservative people of conscious or principle - and the hound them out of their jobs, thus executing a national political purge under the guise of safety. Every company, health care institution, military, just got a LOT less conservative/based. Just. Like. That. Nice constitutional republic you got there, be a shame if something happened to it... My baseline is that half the covid deaths aren't, and then the remaining number is COVID+flu, which is 30-80k a year conservatively. So what what does that leave? So that's a transparent lie. You only transfer power if there is a significant risk of death or becoming mentally incapacitated. Let's take a look at the risks of a colonoscopy: Belly Pain or Discomfort, Bleeding, a bad reaction to anesthesia, perforated intestine. https://wb.md/2Z3rjC6 A perforated intestine is no joke, and it requires surgery, but I don't see anything in there saying there's a risk of death or mental incapacitation. I think it's pretty clear that this was a biowarfare attack; and whether it was released on purpose or by accident (or a combination, since this wasn't a single party) - BOTH China and elements in the US moved to knowingly inflict it on us.
China, by locking citizens in Hubei but allowing them to leave on international flights; the US CDC, NIH, State Dept, and Dems/MSM/tech complex by blocking travel bans until those flights' purpose was complete, hiding what they knew about prophylactic treatments from the start, and then further working to both suppress treatments and dissemate wildly incorrect treatment protocols (vents, etc) US funded and directed researchers helped build this thing; EVERYTHING China knew about it, they also knew, going all the way up to Fauci and whoever he (actually) reports to. Clyde Shelton and others,
Scotus has handled a couple of cases involving religious rights in employment. One is Sherbert v. Verner, regarding working on the Sabbath, another is Wisconsin v. Yoder which dealt with Wisconsin law requiring Amish (and related religions) to go to public school beyond 8th Grade. More recently is Burwell v. Hobby Lobby case and Sisters of the Poor. Some states also have freedom on conscience measures and the like. And possibly a right to privacy which includes medical procedures. There is also quite a bit about conscientious objectors to the draft when it existed. Heck, you can even use the reasoning from Roe v. Wade and its cases regarding my body, my choice rhetoric. The opposite is Smith v. Employment Division of Oregon where ironically Scalia imposed the rational basis test on religious exemptions regarding the use of peyote. Scalia's distaste for illegal drugs made this and the later Raich case some of his worst opinions. Posted by: whig at November 19, 2021 12:03 PM (9hXN1) 315

The death percentage from CoVid19 is 6% of the total number of people reported to have died from it.
And those people who died did so at an average age HIGHER than the average age of death of all Americans. And those people who died did so while having an average of 4 serious co-morbidities such as heart disease, cancer, emphysema, Alzheimer's, dementia, stroke, diabeetus (h/t Zombie Wilford Brimley), morbid obesity, etc. I could go on. The disease is real (I caught it, recovered in 3 days, no big deal. I'm 58 and in decent shape) but the pandemic is the greatest hoax perpetrated in human history. ===== Yes, but the total number of deaths (if you believe the official tally) did increase by about 500k. Regardless of whether those were all "excess" deaths, it's still a spike of 15-20% in death rate. Based on the age distribution of "COVID Deaths" I could believe that most of those 500k were not long for this earth, regardless of the pandemic. But I don't see any reason to think that there wasn't a big spike in deaths, or that it wasn't caused in some way by the virus and our collective freak-out over it. Your original question was could the CDC lie. Yes they could. Clyde, in my exemption letter (mostly written by Miss Linda), I hit the essential points: that fetal cells were used to develop the vaccines and therefore they are horrifying to a Catholic who abhors abortion; and that the "vaccines" rewrite RNA and DNA, thus usurping God's function as Creator.
I also mentioned my length of service and the excellence award I received in 2016, and my hope that we could reach a reasonable accommodation which will pose no hardship to my employer or myself. All I know is, it worked. Posted by: Wolfus Aurelius at November 19, 2021 12:12 PM (txdEq) 367

If this were a real pandemic...
Now, you see, you're just being difficult. Trying to sanity check the data you're given like that. For what it's worth, I think it actually is a real pandemic, but the technical meaning of "pandemic" is "widespread disease" rather than "especially deadly disease." So, technically it's a pandemic, or rather I'm given to understand it is now considered "endemic" and your usage of pandemic in the quoted sentence is in line with the current common speech meaning. Yes, but the total number of deaths (if you believe the official tally) did increase by about 500k.
Umm, in one key respect, absolutely wrong, 1,000% wrong, and in a key respect.
A "real pandemic" is not the point, the nature of the pathogen and its transmissibility are the points. A prevalent*, highly infectious respiratory virus can be a nuisance - like the "common cold" - or more serious, like the various strains of influenza, or C19. This has no effect on "public health" response to it. *Because those responses have no effect*. A much less infectious pathogen, that is not prevalent, might be a different matter (thus, quarantines). But C19 is not a suitable target for "mitigation", which is why all these "policies" have had no meaningful effect (easily seen from the variation between populations subject to extreme "lockdowns" vs. those who weren't, which is normal and not significant). * "prevalence" in this context usually has a specific definition, which varies but is surprisingly low. A lab-confirmed exposure/infection of a fairly small % can imply a total exposure/infection of 10X or 30X that, depending on the bug, and how easily it transmits.
So "prevalent" may be a base of 2% lab-confirmed cases, which implies a total infected population of 35 or 45%. The infection fatality rate for influenza is calculated this way - deaths/estimated total infected population. Posted by: rhomboid at November 19, 2021 12:24 PM (OTzUX) 418

Two interesting things from that chart; Multiple sources have told me the official death toll from flu was 0 - this has 50K (about what you'd expect). The number of respiratory deaths not flu/COVID is down by about 10%. That seems...unlikely. One one presume this is the "he had lung cancer, COPD, and emphysema, but the COVID is the cause of death...honest!" though the number is smaller then I expected. Also, early on, wife sent some flu testing out in like the first week of march - no lock down yet. Came back positive for both A and B which it shouldn't. Was prolly covid. And they are the ones that would say yes, because their social and financial profile require them to rubber stamp whatever the left asks for. Its quite the system. More accurately, Mo is a real person, but pretty much everything else about the Koran is more suspect than gas station chili.
Posted by: Ian S Brit author Tom Holland wrote a book about the founding of Islam and from reading the sources of the time, concluded that Mo was not a real person. Holland is a terrific researcher and writer so I tend to think he's on to something. But of course the question will never be answered to anyone's satisfaction or to a certainty. Insty has an interesting post up - apparently #MeToo feminism has hit China hard, in spite of Xi trying to firewall all wokeness. We need to send a planeload of green-haired transgenders to Beijing immediately, China will be destabilized by Christmas.
== Some chinese honcho politician raped a tennis star, she finally couldn't take it an posted it on Weibo. It got taken down, and THEN she disappeared. Supposedly posted message saying she wsa okay. But the head of women's tennis said publicly that HE DID NOT BELIEVE THE MESSAGE WAS FROM HER. Posted by: The chinese are living in hell at November 19, 2021 12:33 PM (mq5te) 431
421 Obviously they've lied about lots of stuff over the past year and a half. But "Excess Deaths" and (in particular) "Total Deaths" seem like they would be harder for them to misrepresent.
Anytime that you use aggregate level data to assume what the cause of death was for an individual, you have the potential for an ecological fallacy (what is true for the group is true for the individual and vice versa). There are ways to untangle it to some degree such as ecological regression but it is easier to simply try to find comparable groups to get a rough handle on it. For example, excess death rates of those below 60 with no comorbitities and then apply your statistical controls. At the upper end of the age scale, it gets really difficult because you have to remove the noise of the fact that the odds of death from something plus existing medical conditions make older people more likely to die from something anyway--immune systems are weaker, medical complications from existing conditions plus infection, and so on. I've been working long enough now to convince me to let the resume spill over into page 2. It seems to have worked because I got a whole lot of interviews with it. Btw, i note the incongruence between everyone here doing their damndest to avoid jury duty and criticizing the defense for poor jury selection. That jury pool may be just like you, leaving people not like you left (pun intended, sort of) to serve.

If necessary, lie like a Persian rug. Your employers, or at least the personnel drones, would lie to you in a heartbeat.
Posted by: Wolfus Aurelius at November 19, 2021 12:06 PM Yep that's the plan. Granted, based on the questions in the form, I won't have to lie too much, if at all. My principles and value system is based on Christianity and exists whether or not I still have faith that a god or gods exist. For instance, I think it is possible to believe that teachings in the Bible are values to live by while also believing that the Bible is not the Word of God. Another example, I can make pro-life, anti-abortion arguments based on logic and reason and also based on religious reasons. Posted by: Clyde Shelton at November 19, 2021 12:49 PM (Do5/p) 436
The FDA has just approved "boosters" for all adults. Get ready. You ain't fully vaxxed without a booster.
Posted by: publius, Rascally Rapscallion (Mzdiz) at November 19, 2021 12:08 PM It's funny, because in the FAQ, they specifically say that "this requirement does not apply to COVID-19 vaccine 'boosters'". It states that "fully vaccinated" means either (1) 2 weeks after the 2nd dose of the "vaccines" requiring 2 doses or (2) 2 weeks after the J&J "vaccine", which apparently only requires one dose. So they're making this shit up as they go along. If this were about "the science", they would be updating this mandate to include boosters, since didn't the CDC change the definition of "fully vaccinated" to require boosters? Clyde, in my exemption letter (mostly written by Miss Linda), I hit the essential points: that fetal cells were used to develop the vaccines and therefore they are horrifying to a Catholic who abhors abortion; and that the "vaccines" rewrite RNA and DNA, thus usurping God's function as Creator.
I also mentioned my length of service and the excellence award I received in 2016, and my hope that we could reach a reasonable accommodation which will pose no hardship to my employer or myself. All I know is, it worked. Posted by: Wolfus Aurelius at November 19, 2021 12:12 PM Great, thank you, Wolfus Aurelius. I am going to be working on this now during my vacation this coming week. So much for being able to relax and forget about work for a week. Now it will be a week of stress and wondering if what I am writing is good enough for me to keep my job without being forced to inject myself with a "vaccine".
