Representative: Charities, and Possibly Government Agencies, Are Conspiring to Bring Illegals Into the Country and Secretly Transport Them Around the Country

Lance Gooden, R-Texas, is sounding the alarm about what he says is a secretive and "very organized" operation to bring illegal migrants into the U.S. and facilitate their transport across the country -- amid growing concern from Republicans about the transport and release of migrants in the U.S. Gooden spoke to Fox News during a visit to the border in San Diego, where he described seeing buses of migrants traveling through toward sealed-off hotels that are being operated by well-funded nonprofits. "We followed the bus into the gates and proceeded to watch it unload 50 or so immigrants and it looked like they all had a potato sack or a grapefruit bag full of possessions, clothing items, etc.," he said. "They were taken for COVID testing and separated, and we were told they would spend a night or two there before they would be taken to various destinations across the U.S." "They are saying where they want to go and these private groups -- I don't know where they are getting their funding -- these private groups are buying them plane tickets and giving them a package of information about what to do when they get to the airport, how to get past [Transportation Security Administration] without ID, what to say and then how to enroll their children in schools when they get to where they are going."
"These buses come over and over throughout the day to these various hotels that say they are closed for construction, when they are very much open and they’re just closed to the public," he said.It does not seem possible that a large, organized, well-funded effort like this -- it even has its own Ghost Hotels! -- is going on in a major border city like San Diego and the government of California is unaware of it.

A packet given to migrants, and obtained by Gooden's office via a whistleblower, included flight information, copies of the Notice to Appear from Customs and Border Protection (CBP), a list of pro bono legal service providers, maps of major cities in the U.S. and information and legal assistance in Spanish. It also includes a letter from the nonprofit to be handed to TSA officials, urging them to be allowed onto a flight with the limited ID they have that the letter says should be adequate for them to be searched in the Secure Flight program. "It seems very organized and premeditated and I would like to know who is behind the funding for this organization, is the state of California mismanaging federal funds, are private entities funding this, are foreign organizations funding these private entities?" Gooden asked. "I'd like to know what sort of coordination is taking place with the countries south of us, especially Mexico, because it's impossible for these people to so easily get here without help from the southern side of the border," he said. ... I've toured the B Trace distillery 3 times. Great tour and slightly different each time. Once I was strolling the ground because we had an hour to kill before our tour started. Found an open door to a building with a yuuuuuge tank inside. It was the "chill filtration" tank. (I think that is where the contents of almost every barrel of whiskey pass through before bottling). I leaned inside and saw a worker there. He invited me in. Said it wasn't part of the tour but I was welcome to come in. It smelled WONDERFUL in there. There was bourbon all over the floor. Enough to probably fill 100 or more bottles. I asked the guy if he ever gets tired of the smell. He said that sadly he can't even smell it anymore. I almost wept for him!

All depends on who makes them. Homemade is best, but the ones made by Maker's Mark are pretty good. You cannot swing a dead cat in Kentucky without hitting a store selling bourbon 'candy'. Think this is due to a naming right issues. They are all almost always the same: chocolate covered bourbon and sugar mixture with walnuts worked in- either chopped into the sugar bourbon mixture or perched atop the chocolate outer.

I can confirm, in Iowa, that local law enforcement agencies (and the State's LE arm) are aware, roughly, of the number and location of Afghan refugees, but not specifics. They are managed through Non-governmental Organizations (NGOs) directly by the Feds, who aren't sharing info. This reminds me. My property tax is paid in two periods. Around summer and in December. So my mortgage company that runs the escrow said, hey we're taking these two payments that we saw occur over the past six months and then helpfully multiplying them by 2 because there are 2x6 = 12 months in the year for you and now we need to pay us a lot more to build up your escrow. This isn't even the first time I've had an escrow company pull this either. They're all looking to overbill you for as long as they can, get an interest free loan, and then at some later date, "oops it looks like we overbilled you 12 months ago so sorry here's your money back thank you buhbye"

It's the same everywhere. Some people in my area lost everything after Sandy so many donations of furniture, household goods, food, etc. were made and restaurants that were able offered free meals. This went on for weeks. I volunteered to help and like you, I was soon disgusted with the people who came, day after day, same ones, and helped themselves--and their friends--to anything and everything they could get their hands on. It's very disheartening.

I think P13 is total bullshit since you end up in situations with 2 neighbors with the same valued house, one paying $15K in tax, the other $4K only based on how long they've lived in the house. It's not like you use fewer city services each year because you moved in 30 years ago vs moving in yesterday.

Basically, here's how it works: So long as you own your property, it cannot be reassessed to increase the taxable basis, and tax increases are limited to 2% per year. (Note: substantial remodels/additions/etc., but not repairs or minor improvements, will trigger reassessments based on the increase in value of the upgrade, but not the rest of the property and the upgrade is then protected from further reassessment.)

I didn't pay $1.1 million for mine - nor could I afford to today - I paid $200,000. Why should I have to pay more in taxes because new people came in and bid up the houses around me?
