Brian Stelter's Creamy Thighs Cafe

batface.jfif

Vibing horse.

Sea lion licking snow. Well, that's fake news; it's just panting. But it looks like a dog. That's something, I guess.

When lions see the woman who raised them after a long time apart, they attack her!*

* Cramped fake-news media style correction additional context: They attack with love.

Dog just casually does jumping slip through gate, nbd.

Marmoset feast.

Baby elephant acts all tough chasing birds, but knows where to go after he stumbles.

Dog doing Action Modeling shots! Putting together his pooch portfolio.

(whispers) Don't make it weird, just let it happen...

I'm a happy horse, a hap-hap-happy horse...

Quality Assurance Sea Lion.

Hamster rainy day blues.

Inman: F'in' around and findin' out.

I heard this guy crossed state lines.

Also they're not creamy. More like chalky, pockmarked and decrepit.

35 Unbiased Wiki...

Paul Anthony Gosar[2] (GOH-sarr; born November 27, 195 is an American politician and former dentist who has served as the U.S. representative for Arizona's 4th congressional district since 2013. A Republican, he was elected in 2010 to represent the neighboring 1st congressional district until redistricting. Gosar's support of conspiracy theories[3][4] and alleged ties to the Proud Boys and Oath Keepers have stirred controversy.[5]

Gosar opposes the Affordable Care Act,[6] abortion,[7] gun control,[8] and immigration.[9] He has been a strong ally of former president Donald Trump,[10][11] and voted to overturn the results of the 2020 U.S. presidential election that Trump had lost. On November 17, 2021, Gosar was censured by the House of Representatives and stripped of committee assignments for posting a video on social media of an edited anime clip depicting him killing congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and attacking President Joe Biden.[12] It was the first House censure since 2010 and only the 24th in American history.[13]

50 Cats are just the best. Last night I saw a woman walking her cat down the street -- white cat with dark splotches. His name was Geno. He had a harness on but no leash so he wasn't tethered. He was walking about 5 feet in front of her and acted as if going for an urban stroll was natural. He was very well-behaved and it was just the cutest thing to see. The woman said that he trained *her*. Reminded me of my 1st cat, Toonses, the local street tabby who would follow me from my car to the house when I'd park up the street. If I ran, he'd run after me. In the coming feline-lizard war, I'm going with the kittehs.

100 @72: "... how long are the deliberations allowed to go on?"

No hard and fast rules. Theoretically, jury can say they're deadlocked, and the judge can order them to continue, back and forth a couple of times, even endlessly, if need be. However, this judge doesn't seem like the kinda guy who'd force the issue beyond the first "we give up" message.

From a practical standpoint, likely no longer than Tuesday night, given Thanksgiving travel and such, but honestly, if they wait that long to acquit rather than hang, then they're playing with literal fire at the very worst possible time for Kenosha, and other big cities that saw rioting last year.

Pentagon May Have Released Weaponized Ticks That Helped Spread of Lyme Disease: Investigation Ordered

Last week, the U.S. House of Representatives quietly passed a bill requiring the Inspector General of the Department of Defense (DoD) to conduct a review into whether the Pentagon experimented with ticks and other blood-sucking insects for use as biological weapons between 1950 and 1975... and "whether any ticks or insects used in such experiments were released outside of any laboratory by accident or experiment design," potentially leading to the spread of diseases such as Lyme.

133 @119: "That's why the Defense looks deflated -- they know the Jury is deadlocked on one of the big charges."

Nah. Deadlock is deadlock in this case. They fear a compromise verdict which almost certainly means jury forewoman Karen refuses to acquit on the top charge until everyone else submits to find Rittenhouse guilty of something. Holdouts don't give up their leverage by tossing the top charge then haggling over lesser stuff.

262 I have a saying, "The hamster is dead". I say it to myself sometimes. When I was about 9 I had a pet hamster. It died as pets do. Mom got me a shoe box to put him in for burial. We lived on an Army post in Germany so the best I could do was put him in the dumpster on the way to school.

I shared my grief with my schoolmates and, of course, the smart ass in the group told me that hamsters play dead and he was probably still alive. I ran crying from school all the way home. I was distraught. I climbed in the dumpster and found the shoe box and my dead hamster.

Now when some smart ass says, ":You paid 200 bucks? I got it for 50". Yep, and the hamster is dead, asshole.

296 I was at a local watering hole and I met an 84 year old fella named Rob. Retired Army.

He told me stories of the "Phantom Autobahn" in Germany in the 1950's. Miles of German autobahn that were built but were never connected to the main system.

He said his division would use them to sneak around visiting divisions from the States during war games to roll them up. Just had to know where the trees were.

300 I'd love to serve in a jury. I want the power to decide life and death in my hands. But I want to be on a jury where the dude is like obviously guilty.

The problem is you have to hear in excruciating detail all the things you never wanted to know in your life, like the criminal trial I was on hearing about how a man beat his young teen daughter's head against the headboard while raping her so hard she had headaches for days afterward.

That was one of the less awful details she brought up. The lawsuit trial was less miserable in details but it was pretty bad about human nature. Two friends go for a drive. They get into a wreck, so the girl sues the guy for days missed from work because of the accident.

322 Hairyback Guy, re the 'phantom autobahn':

There's a legend that, underneath University of California at Irvine (opened 1965), there's a labyrinth of tunnels that was supposed to be part of what was then called the CD, or Civil Defense, system.

It was never officially completed and a way of figuring out who got to use it, or how it was to be utilized in a nuclear emergency (San Onofre Nuclear Power Plant was also nearby), was never worked out, and it ended up abandoned.

They never connected to anything, just went in crazy circles and directions, apparently. Supposedly if you know the right people at the campus, they can take you down there.

Just no.

The University of Oregon is one such place. Whole place heated by steam, runs throughout the campus.

Problem is, the bio labs let cockroaches get loose over the years. I've been to TX, I've been all over HI. I've seen some big goddamn roaches. But I have never, ever seen anything as big as what's in those underground hallways. I still remember going down to get our suitcases for Christmas break. We turned on the lights of the storage room, and all of the "tiny" 3-4" roaches scattered. All but the grandfuckingdaddy of them all, covering the wall 30' away. And my buddy Doug "Holy fucking Jesus! It's LOOKING AT US!" The only thing that would have improved it is if it had been munching on a rat.

For whatever reason, it was one of his earliest passion projects for remake, and he waited until now to finally do it. Some complaints about casting Ansel Elgort for ethnicity reasons, but otherwise, yeah, should be faithful to the original.

471 DeMille did not direct Ben-Hur in 1925. Our High school was a big CD storage site. We had barrels and barrels of emergency equipment and food lined up down in the tunnels and basement where the heating plant was located.

We used to sneak down there and open them up. There were gieger counters and all sorts of gas masks and the like that had expired years before, along with barrels of crackers and government cheese and other nasty stuff that no one would eat. Nobody ever said a word to us even though they knew us kids were down there messing around.

550 This does not sound good: https://bit.ly/3oF07Cx

Then this evening we had the very unusual request to be permitted to take the jury instructions home, made by a single juror - a female juror.

I suspect that all of this conduct is that of juror #54, the female foreperson of this jury - who I suspect is precisely the kind of "mask Karen," left-leaning, bossy, entitled, and status-sensitive juror that would be most likely to hold out against acquittal.

Finally, my friend Jack Posobiec (at_JackPosobiec) was kind enough to remind me that during jury selection I'd made a particular note of juror #54 at the time, as I was live commenting right here at Legal Insurrection: "#54: Knows some of the witnesses named, but could set that aside." I've also heard from sources in a position to know that when polling was done around jury selection, prospective jurors who knew any participants in the August 2020 riots - which would likely include some of the witnesses - tended to trend 75% against acquittal.

625 For the not completely evil (but obviously kind of thick) their motivation is to be big non-racist heroes like those wonderful people who stood up in the early 60s that they read about. Unfortunately for them, the "good black people being held down by racists" are kind of thin on the ground these days and they aren't about to fight the Dems who run the big cities, so they are down to knee-jerk defending obvious bad guys who eventually suffer from the problems caused by being a violent criminal jerk and then fighting the police when they show up.

628 We're facing challenging times to protect even the right to speak the truth, and it's spilling over to every imaginable area (even "non-political" sites).

I've been banned from TWO guitar forums. Yes, *guitar* forums where people gather to discuss guitars, guitar pickups, guitar pedals, guitar amps, etc. My sins?

I received a 2 week ban for explaining "supply and demand" (Economics 101) in a thread discussing rising prices for new & used guitars. When I received my ban, I private messaged a moderator who showed up at ANOTHER SITE & pointed out how silly that action was. We didn't hit it off and he made my ban on the ORIGINAL site "permanent".

On the 2nd site, I was given a 6-MONTH ban for responding to a thread about Springsteen appearing on Colbert's show. Some asked (innocently enough) what could have been wrong with that appearance (they seemed genuinely not to understand Springsteen and Colbert's politics). I pointed out that Springsteen basically said all of us white people secretly hated Clarence Clemons & would have called him the n-word if we had seen him in real life. My post was deemed "racially charged".

Posted by: Crusader at November 18, 2021 10:11 PM (Cjcf6)

629 In short, those who aren't "conservative" have taken over even non-political sites and put in 2 sets of rules.

Posters can claim that the riots are fine, that liberal guests have "rights", and that we all have to be considerate. But the moment someone attempts to politely rebut their positions, conservative posts are deemed "out of bounds" and those providing them are ushered out of the conversation.
