The Quotes of The Day

Quote I

"The thing right now that’s going on is tyranny," Mustaine added. "This is called tyranny. Look it up when you get home. And tyranny isn't only in government. Tyranny right now is in the schools, and tyranny is in the medical business."Dave Mustaine (H/T Doof)

Quote II

"You don't spend two decades pumping trillions of dollars into a money pit and funding all manner of transparent fantasies one year at a time with no real continuity or long-range planning, then all of a sudden develop the ability as you're running out the door at half past midnight to make prudent decisions to secure your material interests." Unidentified Afghanistan vet and journalist

Quote III

“The Met itself has always been such a huge symbolic institution for New Yorkers and growing up in a neighborhood, coming back to it after graduating school, working as a waitress. I remember, especially there was this one year when I was walking to work and the gala was happening.” Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY)

It's a shame she wasn't struck by a bus on her walk.

Following up on Quote III, AOC's newest and bestest bestie is a tax cheat.

Designer Aurora James called her “Tax the Rich” dress for Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez a “powerful message” — but it’s not one she has taken to heart.

The 37-year-old fashionista who made waves at the Met Gala with Democratic-Socialist AOC last week is a notorious tax deadbeat with unpaid debts dogging her in multiple states, records show.

Most of luxe-living James’ arrears center on Cultural Brokerage Agency, an LLC she formed in 2011 to serve as the parent company of her fashion brand, which today is known as Brother Vellies. It’s a favorite of people like Beyoncé, Rihanna, and Meghan Markle.

The company racked up three open tax warrants in New York state for failing to withhold income taxes from employees’ paychecks totaling $14,798, the state Department of Taxation and Finance told The Post. The debts — which were incurred before the pandemic — stem from 2018 and 2019. The company has been hit with 15 warrants in total since 2015.

If something causes "mass unemployment" why would you double down and still try attempt to implement that "something"? Screw the $15.00/Hour minimum wage. Bring on the $26.00/Hour minimum wage.

Leftists are arguing that a $15 minimum wage is far too low; instead, many are calling for a $26 minimum wage.

As originally noted by Foundation for Economic Education correspondent Brad Polumbo, online debate about the policy started with an August article from the progressive Center for Economic and Policy Research. Economist Dean Baker argued in the piece that the minimum wage ought to keep pace with overall economic productivity.

There is a bright side. At least they aren't masquerading as free lance gynecologists.

People have been advised to be on the lookout after reports of a door-to-door Covid-19 vaccine scam.

Two men are reported to have been knocking on doors in Christchurch’s Addington suburb, claiming to be health officials, according to the Canterbury District Health Board (CDHB).

The pair have an eftpos machine, and have been attempting to charge people a fee to book vaccine appointments.

“This is a scam,” a CDHB spokesperson said in a warning to the public.

Joe Biden's foreign policy sucks. Ask France. Ask Mexico and Del Rio, Texas.

To find the answer, this writer came to Ciudad Acuna, the city through which the migrants had passed to form the encampment and asked several dozen of them what happened.

The surprising answer, which the migrants provided independently in different places and at different times, was universal: on Sunday, September 12, the Mexican government effectively sent a mass of migrants it had bottled up for months in its southern states up to the American border. This move, which appears to have been done under the cover of Mexico's independence week of celebration known as El Grito, essentially foisted a humanitarian problem onto the Americans in a single week.

A quick background is necessary to understand what the migrants were saying. In short, when it was newly installed in January, the Biden administration began to pressure Mexico to maintain and use its National Guard and immigration bureaucracy to slow the flow of expected caravans and of tens of thousands of Haitians and other migrants coming in from all over the world. This was a fairly quiet diplomatic campaign, and it coincided with billions in promised U.S. aid and other benefits such as covid vaccines. It was a different approach from the Trump style of threatening to damage the Mexican economy with tariffs unless the leadership slowed U.S.-bound illegal immigration coming through Guatemala.

In response to Biden’s softer approach with gifts, Mexico apparently responded with a lighter version of a Trump-era tactic, which was to require that migrants entering from Guatemala be held in the southern state of Chiapas, in the border city of Tapachula, until they applied for and obtained temporary legal permits. National Guard roadblocks reinforced the policy.

Anti-Lockdown Protesters In Australia "Break Police Line" As Clashes Erupt

Only a government run monopoly could foul up the distribution of liquor. Welcome to Pennsylvania.

If you had your heart set on serving exclusively Dom Perignon at your champagne party this weekend, you might want to consider mixing in some other brands.

As of Friday, Pennsylvania's state-run liquor stores are starting to ration sales of some products. It's a response to what is being described as a supply shortage.

The Biden Administration is a Golden Clusterfuck. But, at least his tweets are kind.

“The cancellation of the Attack class submarine program binding Australia and France since 2016, and the announcement of a new partnership with the United States meant to launch studies on a possible future cooperation on nuclear-powered submarines, constitute unacceptable behavior between allies and partners, whose consequences directly affect the vision we have of our alliances, of our partnerships and of the importance of the Indo-Pacific for Europe,” Le Drian added.

Biden administration officials claim that they gave France ample notice of the new pact between Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison, President Joe Biden, and UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson, but it appears that France found out just hours before.

The pact involves the creation of an enhanced trilateral security partnership called “AUKUS” which will allow the U.S. and the U.K. to share highly sensitive nuclear submarine technology with Australia.

This is likely the first time an ambassador to France has ever been recalled from the United States in the history of the alliance between the two countries.

Earlier this year, Russia recalled its ambassador to the U.S. after Biden agreed that Russian President Vladimir Putin was a “killer” in an interview with ABC News. The U.S. recalled its ambassador to Russia in retaliation, but both officials have since been returned.

If I were a betting man. I would bet big bucks on this is a feature and not a bug.

As energy prices in Europe go through the roof, factories are beginning to shut down and food is disappearing from the shelves. Welcome to green Britain, offering a foretaste of what life will be like under Net Zero conditions – poorer, colder, hungrier – unless Government changes course.

Two Lutherans and an Episcopalian are some Genius Award Winners.

A gang of machete-wielding robbers livestreamed their failed attempt to escape the police in a high-speed pursuit.

Effiong Nsa and Salah Ibrahim had just robbed a man in Dartford before their getaway driver Shamil Ibrahim drove them away from the scene, leading officers on a chase.

Unbelievable footage now released by Kent Police shows the trio in the car as Ibrahim can be heard saying ‘help us block off the feds’ while recklessly swerving through traffic, running a number of red lights and driving on the wrong side of the road.

It doesn't look like anything will keep him from napping in the near future. Genius Award Winner.

SEPTEMBER 17--An Indiana man who repeatedly called 911 to inform police operators that he was "tired" will spend the next two months resting up in a county jail, according to court records.

Daniel Schroeder, 61, was arrested Tuesday night at his Evansville home in connection with a quartet of calls placed that evening to the police emergency line.

“The male caller kept calling in stating that he was tired,” according to a police report.

Schroeder’s calls about his weariness came a day after he pleaded guilty to a prior misuse of the 911 system. In the earlier case, he copped to calling police to report that he was upset that a female relative “was not following his rules.”

4 Hello, all,

Been busy with getting ready to head back to the office tomorrow . . . but it appears it will have to go on hold. Chekov, the older cat who has been ailing, is not improving. We got his appetite stimulant into him earlier, and he's come out to eat and to lie on the carpet where wh can pet him. But he still seems very listless, and walks as if he's tipsy. I'll have to run him to the vet tomorrow morning. Wish me, and him, luck.

He ate very little today until after we got the meds in him. The stuff is working; he's trotted to the food plate twice in the last hour. But I'll have to bring him to the shop, or perhaps their larger facility some miles away. They've got to find out what this is. A fever of some kind?

I told him sternly (well, in a gently stern voice) that he needed to shape up and pull himself together, no mollycoddles allowed in this outfit. It didn't impress him any, and Miss Linda thought I was being cruel and insensitive. (She does not always get my humor.)

41 One more postcard from the edge of insanity: I attended a yuge Ordination ceremony yesterday. The Cathedral was packed - standing room only. About 2500 congregants and only a relatively few were masked up. Later, at a reception held for the newly ordained, a attendee informed her brother he was not welcomed to her place for Thanksgiving as he had not got the shot. Her brother pointed out she had just come from a 2 1/2 hour ceremony, within a closed space, with 2500 people, most of them strangers to her and surely half of them, at least, were unvaxxed.

I'd like to tell you much hilarity ensued - but it didn't. Big melt down.

Wake County has a mask mandate, and so far about everywhere I've been (including in Raleigh proper) it's running about 60/30 unmasked to masked with the last 10% wearing it over their chin with their nose and sometimes mouth exposed. I think people are getting fed up with all the mandates and BS.

I'm surprised someone didn't say something to you. If they are that serious, they will come to you and and tell you to mask up. But in my experience, most places don't want the confrontation. Walk in like you own the place, do what you need to do and get out. Don't worry about what people are thinking or the looks you get. That's not your problem, it's theirs. I have never had a manager or employee say a word to me for not masking. I just give off the impression that I sign their checks.

The American Journal of Therapeutics, regarding effective Covid treatments and specifically ivermectin, has a report recently out.
Excerpts:
Low-certainty evidence found that ivermectin prophylaxis reduced COVID-19 infection by an average 86% (95% confidence interval 79% - 91%).

Conclusions:
Moderate-certainty evidence finds that large reductions in COVID-19 deaths are possible using ivermectin. Using ivermectin early in the clinical course may reduce numbers progressing to severe disease. The apparent safety and low cost suggest that ivermectin is likely to have a significant impact on the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic globally.
*******
Just try to discuss the merits of ivermectin for the 'Vid. It is not even allowed. Increasing waves of data that says it is extremely effective, and can help early, or late.

But I am really sick of these people who are in apartment 38902387 in Building 4695092190 and can't be bothered to provide a text explanation where they are or how to find their apartment. If I ever have to spend anther 20 minutes wandering through an Escher-designed huge complex looking for Joe B. Lowe's precious hamlet I swear I'm gonna lose it. Gaaa!!

But it was Perkins Coie and the Democrat machine, all Americans, that corrupted the voting system so strategically and decisively. For nearly 2 years before the election, they methodically went from state to state and got the election counting laws changed, often unconstitutionally. The Legislatures are where voting laws are changed, not a state commission, with a guvnor's signature. Yet, they did it anyway, courts pulled the blind, deaf, silent monkey treatment and ignored it.
Hundreds of thousands of phony ballots appeared and were counted. Sometimes over and over again.

It's easy to blame "shadowy unnamed global figures". In reality, the well-financed systematic corruption from known domestic terrorists like giant law firm Perkins Coie, is the real culprit. And the electronic media just whistles by the graveyard. Remember, it is their job to call bullcrap on them, and instead, they cover for them.

I am in the front range (ground zero), there is NO mask mandate at all. Went to car show/sumerfest in littleton yesterday, not even 10% masks, if that. Went to eat at local brewery after that, only staff had masks, mostly.
Sunday Mass: no masks, just a few stragglers, big church too. went to Lowe's, Home Depot, King Sooper's.. less than 20% masked, if that. but not required. so again, I ask, what county you at homegirl ?

330 Sorry I missed the gun thread, as I have a relevant story. In Vietnam we had clearance barrels outside of barracks, headquarters buildings, etc. It being a war zone we all carried our M-16s loaded, since we never knew when we might have to use them. My job required me to click my rifle in a discharge barrel, a lot. I was very conscientious in checking my rifle, every single time. I would drop the magazine, rack the slide back, visually inspect the chamber for a round that failed to eject, drop the slide, place the barrel in the discharge drum, move the safety to fire, squeeze the trigger, and go about my business.

One day, I followed my usual careful procedure, and was stunned when the rifle discharged. I literally could not understand what had happened. Finally I realized I had racked the slide before dropping the magazine.

The brain sometimes reverses the sequence of a series of actions; that is why people sometimes type "teh" instead of "the". That is why the Army has discharge barrels, to save lives during time of war. Giving people Article 15s or having Generals dress people down is stupid; people just won't use the discharge barrels under those conditions.

A doctor has found an increase in cancers since the COVID-19 inoculation rollout.
On March 18, Dr. Ryan Cole, a board-certified pathologist and owner and operator of a diagnostics lab....

"Since January 1, in the laboratory, I'm seeing a 20 times increase of endometrial cancers over what I see on an annual basis," reported Dr. Cole in the video clip shared on Twitter.
"I'm not exaggerating at all because I look at my numbers year over year, I'm like 'Gosh, I've never seen this many endometrial cancers before'," he continued.
Cole explained that two types of cells are required for adequate immune system function: "Helper T-cells," also called "CD4 cells," and "killer T-cells," often known as "CD8 cells."
According to Cole, in patients with HIV, there is a massive suppression of "helper T-cells" which cause immune system functions to plummet, and leave the patient susceptible to a variety of illnesses.

That was a violent threat, according to Twatter. Twatter is just fine with the Chicoms making threats against another country, but a peon can't reply in kind.

Indeed. Possibly the method of their arrival exposes the organized effort to destabilize the border? Perhaps it is the sheer numbers and the fact that they simply overwhelmed the system in a very short time frame. While the dems are playing their part in practicing open borders, others, the Soros backed NGO's and the cartels are driving the bus. I have suspicions that the CCP also has a hand in it. Hate is rarely a logic driven response.

went off to find it, no joy, but real quick. English dandy touring the American west. his horse throws a shoe, so they limp to the next town. he goes to the blacksmith, who is sweating his ass off, banging iron, and is ignored. pissed off, he taps the blacksmith with his crop and says (more or less) "You, who is your master? i would speak with him." blacksmith looks him over, squirts tobacco juice next to the dainty's boot and growls "that sumbitch ain't be born", then goes back to banging iron.

401 AoC is saying she grew up by the Met? She can't even keep her lies straight (or is just showing she knows so little about new York city). She claims to have grown up about 70 blocks north of there in parkchester, even though records show she grew up in upperclass Westchester. Then she says she walked to work when the gala was happening, but at that time she claimed to live in Spanish Harlem while working dowtown, so unless she walked 120 blocks to work everyday, she didn't pass the gala.

This idiot is like every suburbanite who moves to Brooklyn from Ohio and after 2 weeks claims to be a new yorker, while also being scared shitless of Chinatown or Hell's Kitchen.

Chekov is still here. After I posted last night he came out three separate times to eat wet food in the kitchen, and sprawled out on the carpet so I could pet him and tell him what a slacker he is. This morning I see he has cleaned up all the wet food on the plate and used the littler box. I guess we can still have hope.

Prayers up.

I'm hoping that. But his physical symptoms don't look good either. Or perhaps the stress triggered something, as stress can trigger diabetes in humans.

434 Wolfus Aurelius,
Our elderly cat was losing weight despite free access to food, howling all night, her fur was looking scruffy, and she looked like she might be dying. The vet checked her thyroid level and got her on a replacement thyroid hormone, and she is about 80% better. She had lost weight from 9# down to less than 5# but now she is slowly gaining. Hopefully something simple like this will help your feline friend.

Looks like this has been going on for a while. This article from Forbes is dated AUG 19, 2021.

https://bit.ly/3AsqHDs

The Cost Of Being Unvaccinated Just Went Up - Most Insurers Are Passing Costs Back To Patients As Covid Hospitalizations Soar

With no federal mandate requiring insurers to waive these costs, few regulations requiring them to do so at the state level and the wide availability of effective vaccines, the majority have now passed these costs back to patients, according to research by the Kaiser Family Foundation.

Almost half of the insurers studied had terminated waivers by April [2021], roughly the time all adults in the country became eligible for a vaccine, and the majority of those still eating the costs - nearly a quarter of the the insurers studied - intend to stop by the end of the year.
