Holder said, "Power concedes nothing without demand. We too often underestimate the power we have as regular American citizens by marching, by protesting, by raising our voices. That's a really important part of the thing that I'm leading, The National Democratic Redistricting Committee. We have a big advocacy campaign to get American citizens involved in this fight. If we make our voices known if we demand the kind of change, the fair change we're seeking, I think it will help in the process." He added, "Raising the consciousness of people by demonstrating, by getting arrested, by doing the things that ending segregation. If you asked people back in the 1950s, do you think marching, demonstrating will bring down a system of American apartheid? You probably would have said, no, that won't happen. We shouldn't lose faith right now. We shouldn't lose faith. Citizens can make a change. Citizens need to be in the streets. Citizens need to be demonstrating. Citizens need to be calling representatives to demand the kind of change that will make this country more representative, make our democracy more fair.Aside from the fact that, for the umpteenth time, we are not a democracy but a representative republic - or we supposedly were one - and the concept of making it "more fair" and "more representative" is inane since it either is or isn't in both cases, the utter unmitigated chutzpocritical temerity to go on about citizens protesting and taking to the streets to demand change is just beyond belief. Mostly because that is exactly what happened in DC on January 6th when in the face of what we now know and have really always known was a stolen election, thousands of citizens peacefully gathered to demand Congress do its duty and reject the results of a tainted Electoral College. Scores of innocent people, a few of whom at worst were guilty of nothing more than misdemeanor trespassing are still rotting in jail as political prisoners accused of insurrection for daring to do what you, Eric the Red, are now encouraging people to do. And lest we forget that whatever "rioting" or violence that occurred was perpetrated by Democrat bought-and-paid-for or allied confederates. But I digress. Aside from pouring salt into our wounds and grinding it in with a hobnailed Bruno Magli, the other insult is that the January 6th protesters were there to prevent the greatest political crime from being pulled off. Holder and his ilk on the other hand, are fomenting unrest and violence to obstruct legitimate laws, legally passed and overwhelmingly popular with the citizens - real ones, not the fake ones on mimeographed ballots - from going into effect. Yes, this little back and forth on Richie Madoff's broadcast is a not so subtle dog whistle for the street thugs and goons of BLaM-tifa to "get people's minds right" and get in politicians faces with mostly peaceful hate-shakes, Molotov cocktails, baseball bats and fists. You know, if the thousands of us who were on Capitol Hill January 6th, the tens of thousands of us who attended Trump's campaign rallies, and the perhaps 80 million or more of us who voted for him last November were even a fraction as dangerous, radicalized and militant as Holder and his co-conspirators claim we are, we would not be having this conversation right now. Just saying. Ironically, CBD informs me today is the 60th anniversary of the start of construction of the Berlin Wall. Have a good weekend.

I know many people just can't accept this level of evil with Pharma and the medical-industrial complex. Again, Publius of 20 years ago would think current year Publius is a woo-woo nutjob.
Pharma makes money not by "healing the sick" but by *treating the sick*. That is, lots of very expensive, on-patent, "new" drugs and shit thrown at various disease. They do not make money by actually healing the sick. It's treating the sick. If we could tie the profit motive to the actual healing of the sick as opposed to simply treating them by throwing all sorts of expensive drugs and treatment at them, we might actually get somewhere. We wait in line at school board meetings for our two minutes of speaking time, or we pull our kids out of public schools we continue funding so that we can take on the cost of homeschooling or sending them to private schools, and we will watch the occasional video of someone on the internet making a good speech that resonates with people who remember what they thought America used to be but hasn't been in decades. Former Obama administration Attorney General Eric Holder said Thursday on MSNBC's "The Rachel Maddow Show" that protesters needed to be "in the streets" getting arrested in the political fight over voting laws. . .
++++ He's mostly right. This isn't about voting laws per se, but it is surely about power. The frame is useful for his purposes. He wants to call his thugs up to go intimidate and terrorize the elected officers trying to reform voting laws so as - ironically, given the context - make some move toward restoring the balance of power. And this is all anyone needs to know, and he doesn't even have to be all that smart or all that tuned in to understand it. He merely needs to have his eyes open. We have lots of people languishing in a gulag in Washington, DC for having the temerity to try to restore some semblance of the balance of power. He wants his goons to wage open war on our streets to imbalance it further toward the state, and he faces no risk in calling for what amounts to open, violent rebellion. Yes, it is definitely a double standard. Yes, it also shows how far the "rule of law" has collapsed. It is all of those things and more. Currently, 12%, or 100 million acres, of U.S. land is wilderness protected as wildlife refuges and national parks. The project aims to convert at least 50% of land across North America to wilderness off-limits to humans. ... Human populations are to be resettled into the remaining 25% of the land into communities deemed "sustainable" as depicted in a U.N. map.
++++ Only if Agenda21 goes according to plan. I doubt it will. Forcibly resettling most of the population into urban corridors won't work. First, there isn't enough housing. The government can build giant housing project tenements of tiny condo-like units, but this will fail like it always has. It doesn't mean they won't try, but it won't work. Second, too many people will refuse. I doubt it will be a coordinated action, but there will be a lot of standoffs and a lot of bloodshed. Forced migrations of populations always have a high body count. Third - and this is the big one - why would the state bother? If you're already rounding people up for resettlement, it's much easier and cheaper to just kill off the wreckers who didn't choose to move into a high-rise shoebox on their own. For send time this week, in response to the local media freak out, I went by the hospital yesterday near my house to see the emergency room panic for myself. This time I actually parked, got out and walked around for 10 minutes then sat in the parking lot a little while longer. Like the first time, nothing unusual. Couple ambulance parked and a cop car. Parking lot half empty, no new patients getting out that I could see, certainly no lines or sick people waiting to get in. Only sign of the pandemic was a couple people in masks hanging out. If there are overwhelmed ICU's and doctors and nurses inside you would never know it outside.
And like the first time, no cameras or news crew to report on the chaos. I'll bet I have made two more visits than all the local news stations combined, who were probably to busy hovering over an accident in I-285 to report first hand on the worst pandemic ever . He wants his goons to wage open war on our streets to imbalance it further toward the state, and he faces no risk in calling for what amounts to open, violent rebellion. Yes, it is definitely a double standard. Yes, it also shows how far the "rule of law" has collapsed. It is all of those things and more.

72 Of course. A few days ago some Moron posted a link to some school that had a competition of some kind. The prize? The winning teams got a few minutes (20-30 minutes, depending on finish position) of unmasked time at school.

It occurred to me this morning that part of the sudden surge in cases may be due to the Peltzman Effect. Vaccinated people who think they are protected and that they are protecting others engage in risky behavior, such as forgoing hand sanitization, masking, or social distancing because they believe they are "safe." When really they are anything but. They are plague carriers who may experience mitigated symptoms, but are just as dangerous as an unvaccinated person, if not more so.

The nicotine step-down (patches, gum, etc.) combined with counseling is the standard prescription for smoking cessation, and it often takes months. Relapses and backsliding are expected and typically happen, which elongate the best-case clinical cessation times. Compelled cessation is not ever going to be best-case, so that would indicate that a longer - not shorter, or even necessarily fixed - time frames are more appropriate. ... Posted by: SturmToddler (8D42x) at August 13, 2021 07:14 AM (8D42x) I recall attending an insurance meeting at work. It occurred to me this morning that part of the sudden surge in cases may be due to the Peltzman Effect. Vaccinated people who think they are protected and that they are protecting others engage in risky behavior, such as forgoing hand sanitization, masking, or social distancing because they believe they are "safe."
Except there are no data that supports hand sanitization and social distancing as hinderances to virus spread. Before Science was replaced by Lysenkoism, as late as 2019, there was a lot of scientific concern about the overuse of hand sanitizers since the belief is that it would be effective at weaker bacteria, not the more virulent, and the sanitizer resistant strain would become dominant. It appears that the late comedian George Carlin was a much better disease expert than those in charge today. Posted by: Reuben Hick at August 13, 2021 07:23 AM (+LCoQ) 150

Interesting, because in my totally unscientific study, the people who I know who do / did those things are generally in much better health than those who sat on their asses playing video games. It may just be that those who are employed in a position that would merit company paid insurance are active and have healthy metabolisms that permit them to regularly engage in activities. ____________ It's going to be interesting to see what happens in those cases, now that we have seen the evidence that the Hennepin County ME who performed the autopsy on George Floyd (and the ONLY medical expert who ever actually examined Floyd's body) originally concluded that the police restraint had played no role in causing Floyd's death -- only to backtrack and revise his opinion after he was pressured and threatened with professional ruin by an activist black ME who was likely working in cahoots with activist prosecutors. Interesting, because in my totally unscientific study, the people who I know who do / did those things are generally in much better health than those who sat on their asses playing video games.
Sure. They are young and fit. In general, they have no health issues unless something goes wrong. When something goes wrong, the cost can be high. My point was...either we have common insurance, or we don't. I'm perfectly fine with de-coupling insurance from work and paying my own way. These children want socialized medicine. I was trying to show that that, once you start regulating a person's life to minimize potential health risks, it doesn't end. And here we are today. It started out subtly enough, but became more and more bold as the book went on. Deaf people were treated this way, and it's similar to gays. People in wheelchairs were treated this way, same as gays. etc. etc. There was one tiny little paragraph in it that I saw before I threw the book away that addressed anorexia vs cross-dressing. It's a mental illness and it's different. No, really. That was it. Nothing else. It's different because it really IS a mental illness. And gays are awesome. Every single Dem Secretary of State will send out mail-in ballots.
Even in defiance of specific legislative admonition not to. The SC has basically given Governors unlimited authority to do whatever they want if there is an emergency. *If* we had opposition governors in the various states they could also declare that only in person with ID voting and purple finger ink will be allowed. So, I had a minor scare last night. My wife wasn't feeling well, headache, etc., and my first thought was COVID. Now, mind you, I'm not worried about my wife catching COVID, rather, I'm a lot more worried if someone in a position of authority were to find out, should my wife have it.
Which lead me to another thought, which is, our government has put citizens in the position of choosing not to go to the doctor, because the political ramifications are almost unbearable, should a positive for COVID result. Because you know that test is going to be administered, pretty much as soon as you walk in the door. Of course, gun owners, due to red flag laws, are in a similar position. I have intentionally avoided the video or pictures because it's horrific. I still can't believe something like that happened and both democrats and republicans were on board with killing her. Posted by: MJ at August 13, 2021 08:34 AM (zwDuR) 432

You can have a functioning society with a tiny number of people like this in the shadows--they always exist, and throughout history they knew they were deviants and kept their heads down. But you don't have a society worth a damn if the gvmt is sponsoring and cheering it. https://tinyurl.com/yhpunma3 Posted by: Tami at August 13, 2021 08:42 AM (cF8AT) 448

"I still can't believe something like that happened and both democrats and republicans were on board with killing her."
A thorough "Compare and Contrast" examination of Ashli Babbitt versus George Floyd cases would reveal the evil within. Ashli did make the mistake of following the (FBI assets) provocateurs, but her act of civil disobedience in the face of a coup did not warrant a death sentence. imo the cop acted illegally ... AShli's civil suit might reveal that, except I guess it will be in DC corrupted courts. Criminal Floyd was the opposite in almost every way, and evidence was fabricated to convict the cop that did not kill Floyd. Posted by: illiniwek at August 13, 2021 08:52 AM (Cus5s) 453

Posted by: Jonah at August 13, 2021 07:54 AM (WY8d2) ___ The govt has printed close to $10T in the past year. That money has to go somewhere. Hence real estate, stock market and used cars are insanely expensive now. There's no correction coming. This is all inflation generated. And unless the govt decides to suck out $10T from the economy, you'll be waiting forever for a correction to get back to prices of 2 years ago.
