Greetings From The Romanian Police -- You're Under Arrest! ___________ Problem solutions will be posted as an update later on. ___________ Note: that cryptic line of letters and numbers you see underneath each board diagram is a representation of the position in what is known as "Forsyth-Edwards Notation", or F.E.N. It's actually readable by humans. Most computer applications nowadays can read FEN, so those of you who may want to study the position, you can copy the line of FEN and paste into your chess app and it should automatically recreate the position on its display board. Or, Windows users can just "triple click" on it and the entire line will be highlighted so you can copy and paste it into your chess app. ___________ So that about wraps it up for this week. Very sultry chess champion.
I like the picture of the cute woman in the hat. It's probably not the time period of Jane Austen but the figure reminds me of the heroine Lizzy in "Pride and Prejudice" who goes off to visit her sick sister, Jane (I'm sure Lizzy was wearing boots, however) an the snooty ladies at Netherfield are horrified that she walked that far in mud which showed on her petticoat. There seem to be some talk in leftist circles that Austen should be cancelled because.....of course. I am reading an annotated edition of the book. It is most annoying because I have read that novel many times, and even if I hadn't they put notes about things I think are obvious-but maybe they're not to 17 year olds who are reading it for the first time, unless they got assigned "50 Shades of Grey" by their dimwitted, woke English teacher. These days who knows?. Posted by: FenelonSpoke at June 19, 2021 04:29 PM (k39e/) 23

Have long minimized shaking hands and maximized washing hands (don't use the sanitizer much) in what was probably a vain effort to avoid colds (since I'm not sure if that kind of contact is a likely transmission mode), but a certainly effective if redundant effort to minimize other things. Like enteric diseases, typically the kind one gets from bad food or unsanitary preparation, which definitely can be contact-transmitted.

173 Thanks for the responses on telehealth, but it's moot now. MiL is emphatic that she won't go to the ER and doesn't want to be treated. She's either bleeding to death internally or she'll be fine. We have no idea. I'd appreciate a prayer if you have one to spare. Her name is Sandra and she's 87.

not sure what the Duke thing is about because I can't find the original post. I learned long ago through many tough times that if an elderly relative or person you care about is in danger, call 911. It is that simple. Don't check the net, don't try to drive them somewhere, call 911. I know for some reason guys don't like to do that sometimes, but it is the way to go. Even if you drive them to the ER, now you will have to get in line if the drive goes smoothly. If they arrive in an ambulance, they go right in.
I don't know this personal situation I don't know the details at all. But from experience, I know one thing, if an elderly loved on is possibly in danger, call 911. i remember when my dad was in hospice care. The doctors told me not to call 911 at the end as that was part of it. I hated the BS but that was part of hospice. But in any other circumstance, including with my mom probably ten times, it was 911 and admitence to the hospital. She came out fine nine times. Posted by: Quint at June 19, 2021 06:24 PM (gJfTA) 221
She argued several times over it but it was always the right thing
to do, not a single time was she not admitted for treatment. Nothing personal here, it happens every day, everywhere. If someone ailing is not well, call 911. It is easy and once you do it kind of feels good because it is no longer in your hands. We pay for this stuff for a reason. Again, this is a general comment, I have not seen even the original statement. now if they have some kind of advanced directive, fine. I would still personally call 911 and let them sort it out. Even if someone wont leave their home, the medics can check them out. Posted by: Quint at June 19, 2021 06:25 PM (gJfTA) 222
NaCly, just an alternative if you don't have a meter.

"Now do 1936-2018 for India and most Soviet Countries if WWII had not happened."
Well the net says "over 87,000 Indian soldiers and 3 million civilians died in World War II." Not sure where the civlliian number comes. And a *cursory* that India had no baby boom. But my theory is that the decline in population from WW2 deaths merely delayed the human species going into a reversal with declining rates. Without the War, the population rates would have peaked earlier and headed into decline earlier. In fact, it is possible that global population would be LESS than it currently is if there had been no WW2. Again, I'm just playing devils advocate to your own theory, I have no special expertise in this area. Other that a pattern of discovering things turn out the opposite of what one would expect LOL Posted by: Hoyt's Paid Turkish Provocateur at June 19, 2021 06:40 PM (83lwH) 234

Excellent advice about calling 911. It takes the personal out of the equation. I had influence with my mom and could always convince her that it was the right thing but my brother, not so much. He would agonize and eventually just started calling It was always the right thing, even when they cleared her to stay home.

"Looks like the Federal Bureau of Entrapment just got another one. Story at Gateway Pundit."
I'm surprised the Right is even talking about this - there could be an FBI Agent lurking. For all we know Gateway Pundit could be a snitch! The Stasi is everywhere! And if you think that's paranoid, you're telling the guy that's not even from Turkey LOL. Endgame is that the Right is not only impotent, but now afraid to even organize and fight back. That's pretty convenient for the Deep State, and exactly what the Stasi would want. So I now believe that anyone falsely sliming others as being "cops" or "informants" is actually the cop/informant, because that's exactly what a Stasi Agent would do LOL. Is the really the path we want to go down?
