The Morning Report - 5/11/21 [J.J. Sefton]

amersund.jpg

Good morning kids. Tuesday and as the rot from within continues to turn our collective mind into a brain sample somewhere between that of Al Capone and Idi Amin - let's call it Joe Biden - those who control the actions of that rambling, shambling, stumbling sack of dementia are facing multiple crises overseas, and of course on our southern border. And that's not dementia, but something far worse; an insane worldview where America is to blame for all the evils of the world. Three major flashpoints, Iran, the so-called "Palestinians" and the Chi-Coms (as well as the border which we'll sidestep) were either well in hand or for the first time in decades being confronted and dealt with rationally and logically by President-in-exile Donald Trump. What a difference a stolen election and six months can make.

Iran is pulling a Michael Corleone on Senator Geary, demanding we let them build nukes and kiss their ass in Macy's window for delaying that cause these past four years. And as thanks for our obsequious apologies they're once again using armed speedboats against our warships in the Strait of Hormuz knowing full well that the drag-queen junk-tuckers on the bridge of the USS Harvey Milk will shoot nothing but blanks at them. At the same time, just over the horizon, Iran's puppets in Gaza are hurling rockets into Jerusalem while once again, Israel of course is to blame. With anti-Semitism and its same-sex handmaiden anti-Zionism now officially a cornerstone of the Democrat Party, the usual gang of vermin are unleashing a torrent of blood-libels.

And then there's China. They're evil. Period. They have a sallow, hairless hard-on for establishing their own Greater East Asian Co-Prosperity Sphere that dominates the world and prospers only their own Politburo. Were it not for the fact that so many of our politicians, bureaucrats and academics are on their payroll, a large swathe of our private sector is tied at the hip with them and thousands of them are in our schools, research facilities and businesses spreading propaganda when they're not stealing sensitive information, they'd have collapsed like a wet eggroll years ago. We have only ourselves to blame for their near stranglehold on us. So now Tony Blinkered Blinken has to bend over and let them give him an anal swab while Biden spouts out platitudes about getting back to a normal relationship with these heathen animals. That's why some Fang-Fang Bang-Bang wannabe is spouting the lies that the Chinese virus came from Fort Detrick, Maryland. Honey, if it did originate there, you sneaky little bastards probably stole it from us. Sickening really. Douglas MacArthur had the right idea. We should've driven past the damn Yalu River and then nuked Peking while we had the muscle, but I digress.

The cherry on the parfait has got to be that CIA recruiting video which is on top of the avowed mission of the Defense Department to value diversity, inclusion and equity - D-I-E - above combat readiness as its main focus. Of course, the DoD and CIA will be fanatics and razors when it comes to actual combat with its prime enemy: the citizenry of the nation formerly known as the USA who may (or may not) be a threat to the junta controlling the government. Oh the bullets and shells will fly con gusto on those targets.

If I were Israel, the Gulf States and Taiwan, I'd be extremely wary of discussing anything with your "American" (alleged) counterparts. And gird your national loins.

    ABOVE THE FOLD, BREAKING, NOTEWORTHY

  • Robert Spencer: "...I also can't help but notice that Farrakhan Muhammad has a very interesting name. He appears to be named after one man who has called for 10,000 volunteers to stalk and kill white people, and after another who is generally considered to be the author of a book that three times exhorts people to 'kill them wherever you find them' (Qur'an 2:191, 4:89, cf. 9:5). Might Farrakhan Muhammad's ideology and worldview have had anything to do with these shootings, or were they all about his being angry with his brother, as has been reported?"
Three Bystanders Shot in Broad Daylight in Times Square by a Man Named Farrakhan Muhammad
  • Julie Kelly: "The American public still doesn't know exactly what happened on January 6 -- and it's clear the government will use any means necessary to keep it that way."

Why Is the Government Hiding January 6 Video Footage?
  • "If large companies continue down this path, employees who want to excel in what they do -- rather than work in a company preoccupied with identity politics -- will take their skills and talent elsewhere." (assuming that there are companies left to flee to, considering both a dying economy and the cancer of woke-ism - jjs)

19 Willowed from Pixy thread:

The Cars movie franchise encapsulates science today. In the first movie and beginning of the 3rd (pretend the second doesn't exist) everyone dreams of being on the Dinoco team. The team all wears light blue paint. It is what defines the team. When Lightng dreams of being on the team, he changes from red to light blue. Cal takes on the light blue when he joins the team. But in the 3rd movie, Cruz wants to be a grrrrl racer because grrrrls are just as good, and she tried really hard, therefore deserves a shot. At the end she gets her shot and beats all of the boys because she is a super powerful grrrl. She gets on the Dinoco team. Then not only forces Dinoco to allow her to remain yellow, but makes them change the logo and their signature light blue color. I have earned my position, now change everything about your organization to suit me. Meanwhile, lightning takes on the dark blue paint scheme to honor Doc's legacy.

21 Hey, Horde. In Pixy's thread (the tech news) today, he or she has a link out to what might be the most important thing I've read in a year, and the scariest thing I've read in several years. It is an academic paper written by MIT researchers on the topic of public (amateur) science and data visualization work. I am still kind of shell-shocked from reading it, and I have only had time to skim through it on a quick first pass.

Please, I implore you, go read it. Download the PDF and put it in your queue to read. It is absolutely terrifying, and they're telegraphing what's going to come next. It's not going to be more data, it's going to be less. They're not going to publish evidence, they're going to publish conclusions. They're actively calling for restricting inputs and publishing correct conclusions while suppressing data and they're doing so in stark, black-and-white terms that leave no room to maneuver. It's absolutely horrifying.

There are some excerpts on Pixy's thread. The paper is here:

34 I suspect that CIA recruitment video really served three purposes.

The tertiary purpose is it's stated purpose: to recruit talent. I suspect they don't really care about this, but if they get good candidates then so much the better.
The secondary purpose is to send a message: progressives are in charge now and forever. This is to put the country - and the world - on notice that the progressive takeover of American intelligence is complete. The mission has now changed and it is clear - they seek only to destroy antiprogressive thoughts and activities.
The primary purpose is collect information. They are, after all, an intelligence agency. These videos intend to whip up despondency, anger, contempt and other negative responses from the antiprogressive or skeptic groups. The people who respond along those lines do the organization a great favor: they identify themselves. They can then be subcategorized and put on the appropriate lists a lot more easily than finding them the slow way.

82 68 Just in time supply. GM was one of the pioneers of that theory. Had a friend who dispatched for the cab company back in Ohio. They were making a couple runs a day to MI for stuff that wasn't on time. GM Lordstown shut the line down more than a few times for that, and Packard Electric had it's share of problems.

Some will. Many won't. The US won't survive it in any recognizable form. If the woke brigade wins, we'll be a full-blown Maoist country. If their opposites win, we'll be a strong-man dictatorship with an aristocracy - perhaps something like the Caesar system in the early Roman Empire.

They're going to inherit sociopolitical ruins, but they won't accept that. They're going to fight each other and rebuild it and to the victor will go will the spoils.

It will take a whole heckuva lot more than 120 sounding the enormous alarm bells that are going off. While it's good to know it's not "just us" here that see this biblical disaster unfolding...I'm not optimistic that enough people understand just what is happening, and happening at a rapid pace. We like to make fun of the ridiculous media. We know what jokes they are. And strangely enough, they poll very poorly...suggesting people are aware of the BS they shovel. 96 The reason the fuel pipeline shut down is because Trump didn't have a plan. Joe Biden has been working night and day since the day he took office to prevent ransomware pipeline shutdowns. Trump had no infrastructure in place to defend against these attacks. Joe Biden has been in the oval office rerouting ransomware attackers to different servers to thwart pipeline shutdowns. His hacking and coding skills have prevented 5000 other pipeline attacks, but he is too humble to take credit. It was only a momentary period of distraction where he had to tend to another problem created by Trump that allowed this attack to slip through. Joe Biden is now proposing a ransomware prevention infrastructure plan to automatically stop these attacks. It will only cost $3 trillion over the next 5 years to promote research into the feasability of creating a sustainable internet infrastructure which will reduce the likelihood of internet ransomware attacks.

I saw this working at T-Mobile. While I worked retail, they axed all of their flex plans, essentially glorified pre-paid plans, and they gave everyone with that a contract and deal on new phones.

For some it was a complete disaster. They got the most expensive phone, broke it within weeks, and were beyond pissed that they had to keep paying for the broken phone. I had to keep telling people that if you did this to a car, you'd still be expected to pay, right? They didn't like that analogy.

Great example from yesteryear, as told to me by an IBM technician. IBM used a proto-JIT system for mainframe parts. He was called out to a major electrical equipment manufacturer who's computer was done. He found the fault and called headquarters to put in a part order. There was one within the four-hour target range, so the operator at HQ put in the order.

The order failed to process. They tried again. It failed to process. The guy at HQ went looking for parts elsewhere. He found one, but it was in California and would take 12 hours to get to the customer.

The field tech had an epiphany and called HQ back. He asked here the part that failed to order was.

It was at the customer site. The customer manufactured that part. it was on his shelf in inventory minutes away on foot - they just didn't know it because the computer that handled the orders was down for want of that part...

193 Over the past 5 years or so we have been moving to a "just in time" type supply system here at work. Where before our department tracked our own spares and supplies, we have turned it over to the company-wide system. They have (systematically) reduced and sold off our spares for "lack of use" and moved a lot of stuff off-site. I keep telling them we don't have these parts because we need them often, but because we need them immediately. Coupled with the fact that most of our machines are...shall we say, elderly...and therefore parts are no longer being made for them, it's beginning to be a real problem keeping things running.

This one is rare swing and miss by Zito.

On April 30, U.S. Steel said that after months of tug of war with the Allegheny County Health Department, it was canceling the $1.5 billion upgrade and idling three batteries at Clairton Coke Works by 2023.

That's telling. She also goes on to talk about the alignment of the local government with various environmental groups including the Heinz Foundation. But she doesn't actually say *what* the logjam was about and why it came through the Health Department instead of the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection. Reading that article, I still know nothing of what the specific objections were, how they were raised, by whom or what the justifications were for obstructing the build-out.

I like Zito and she rarely writes useless articles, but this was one.

They probably do use the planes for that, too - likely for emergency repairs. A field service tech for a major computer equipment outfit that I know was assigned to a major retailer. They had a part fail in one of their distribution hubs in the Mountain West. There wasn't a part nearby, but there was one at the HQ computer supply depot. They put him on a company-owned plane with the part and sent him to the distribution hub to go fix the problem and bring the system back up.

Then, because they're asshoe, they left him there and brought the plane back empty. He had to take a bus into town, then a taxi to the airport, then buy a ticket back home on his own dime and get reimbursed by his company. Then he demanded to be transferred off of the retailer's account or he'd quit.

He quit.

222 It's already getting hard to find people with particular skills. I've had a grandfather clock that needs work. It's beyond my abilities and I'd rather not wreck the thing. I've called several clock repair outfits, but I get "the guy who used to do that is dead." Seriously.

There used to be 4 auto repair joints around here too. One just closed last month and the owner's kids were not interested in it. Neither of his boys knew shit about cars but likely knew a lot about systemic racism.

It's happening.

The funny thing, though, is that the ASVAB is an extremely easy exam. I suspect that if you have the equivalent of a modern 6th grade education but fail it, it's because you *wanted* to fail it.

And as "Our Country is Screwed" pointed out, you can thank New York State for that in the modern era. We have so much nat gas in this country that it beggars belief. We get more of it than we want courtesy of oil fracking. It often sells for under the cost of production because that's still better than just flaring it off. It's criminally insane that we import even one cubic foot of the stuff because we can't build pipelines for domestic supply.

383 My question is what do corporations get out of these woke employee training sessions? It can't be for any perceived good publicity because they always try to keep this training secret from the public and issue denials if there are any press leaks. The training no doubt costs literal dollars plus lost time. How does Disney or Coke or Anheuser Busch benefit from this crap? What's in it for them?
