China's Greenhouse Gas Production Exceeds the Combined Production by the US, Europe, and the Whole of the Developed World

The oligarchs will bury this report, because they've moved almost all manufacturing to China.

China’s greenhouse gas emissions in 2019 exceeded those of the U.S. and the developed world combined, according to a report published Thursday by research and consulting firm Rhodium Group.

The country’s emissions more than tripled during the past three decades, the report added.

China is now responsible for more than 27% of total global emissions. The U.S., which is the world’s second-highest emitter, accounts for 11% of the global total. India is responsible for 6.6% of global emissions, edging out the 27 nations in the EU, which account for 6.4%, the report said.

The oligarchs support "climate change" mitigation for the West -- because they've moved their greenhouse gas emitting operations out of the west, mostly to China.

They will absolutely fight any attempts to pressure Chinas to reduce emissions.

NeverTrump, funded nigh-exclusively by the oligarchs, will be the first into the arena to discredit this report. Expect AEI to explain why Chinese gases are better than American gases, and expect The Bulwark to make The Conservative Case for the "China Century."

This is not America.

Make America America Again.

Careful, Ace. You're getting awfully close to implying that global regulatory arbitrage, environmental arbitrage and wage/labor arbitrage are real things and that they result in destruction of native industries in a race to the bottom that hollows out the domestic economy.

A lot of people here, who turned out to be right. I wasn't one of them. 137 92 Moron Robbie,
I have read some blame for failing electronics attached to the Euroland ban on lead solder. The US has not but since the global supply chain insists on one standard, the Euroland rules apply. Apparently, leadless tin solder has a bad problem about developing whiskers in use which causes shorts on circuit boards.

Another is crappy capacitors which is another problem. Apparently since even the 1700's (porcelain for example), the Chinese traditional manufacturing method is to produce high quality, loss producing initial production and then after the buyer is hooked, sequentially cheapening the goods.

Then I noticed they started scrubbing their old maps and instead releasing massaged data that made it less obvious. The Problem is that the US has been a marginal contributor for a while. We burn a lot of fuel, but with reforestation, the CO2 levels actually go down if you measure the air as it blows across the country,

One of the products of indoctrinating the yutes for the last thirty years is that they believe the world is doomed by CO2. It is an easier reach for a GOP actually wanting to win elections to adopt that position and argue that China should do as the US has done and reduced its carbon emissions substantially since 2000. After all, saving of the world is involved and China is opening new dirty coal based plants every couple of weeks.

Yes, it is a cynical agree and amplify but putting carbon taxes on imports is an easy reach politically. The resistance to this comes from the existing large corporatist wing of the Republicans that corporations are our friendz.

163 Wow, just read an article where Michelle Obama says that she and Barky were terrified when their girls started driving, because as parents of black children, they are so very afraid that their kids might be targeted just because they do something innocent, like play their radios too loud.

AYFKM? Targeted by whom? By the bands of roving "white supremacists" running around the U.S. looking for innocent black kids to attack?

The fact is that her two little elitist-1% princesses have never been in any danger. And most black kids who get attacked in this country get attacked by other blacks, not by whites. Just like most black men get shot by other black men, not by cops. There were less than 10 unarmed black men killed by cops last year, compared to the thousands of blacks (armed and unarmed) who were shot by other blacks.

So sick of the lies about how blacks are constantly under attack by whites in this country, which is a damn lie. It's blacks who commit most of the violence here (by far), and it's blacks who commit most of the inter-racial violence too. They are not victims, they are the perpetrators.

SpaceX still has maneuvering fuel to stick the landing.

Chinese rocket probably lacks such. Plus the outer edge of the atmosphere expands and contracts so it can have a lesser or greater drag effect on low orbit stuff.

So all they can do is make a guess based on it's orbital path.

That's how the Watt's Up With That website got its start. A series of studies and images of weather stations in incredibly inappropriate, hot locations creating excessively hot readings.

Like, under the exhaust of a HVAC system exterior, in parking lots, etc.

Yeah, but it's way beyond that. Even with good, controlled placement that remains consistent over time, there aren't enough stations to get anything like the degree of precision they claim.

Last year, there was a story about "ERMIGAWD HUGE WARMING IN THE OCEANS." The monitoring bouys each account for hundreds of thousands of square miles of ocean at varying depths. They can control for some of that but when you see them claiming tracking trends of tiny fractions of degrees - which is what they do - it is laughable. There aren't enough instruments to confidently conclude *anything* statistically at such small scales. We would need wildly higher sensor density to make inferences that small, and it might be impossible in the real world.

The data say anything they want the data to say.

And what hypothesis did they use to adjust the data? Why the very same one they are trying to prove, CO2 driven warming.

You know what else doesn't show massive warming? Satellite weather installations. Satellites are great because they sample a lot all at once across a variety of sources using a lot of different measurement schemes. It doesn't show runaway warming, either.

But again, the data say whatever they want the data to say. They have an agenda, and they aren't above manufacturing the means to achieve that agenda.

229 The surface station data is a symphony of chicken fucking.

They added parking lots. They built buildings. They installed air conditioning units. And they developed the cites around the stations. My favorite though is the switch to digital meters and they all came with cables that had limited length. So they moved all the surface stations closer to the buildings.

Other examples are the Siberian data (which was long considered "untouched") which was built next to their power plants (where else?) and each decade they expanded the power plants until the station was surrounded with boilers. It is madness.

246 We have the capability to track and predict the impact of space junk (or at least we did).

So why do they keep saying that we do not?? The rocket body will most likely breakup and burn up in the atmosphere with most pieces of the debris landing in the oceans.

If that junk does impact in the USA is it considered a attack upon the sovereign soil of USA like 911 ??

Just sayin.......

Emissions of what? CO2? More than possible. Particulates? Not a chance. A non-trivial amount of the subcontinent still uses wood and dung as primary fuels and those are massive polluters.

252 The trajectory on reentry involves nonlinear dissipative forces. If it was all in space it would be easy orbital mechanics stuff. But the second you start touching the boundary of the atmosphere you add velocity squared things akin to lift and drag to an object that has an ever-changing attitude and profile. It is nondeterministic. At this point, if you aren't actively controlling it Mr. Random is controlling it.

Posted by: JoeF.

India is a bad example since much of their economy runs on cow shit. (cooking and heating,) but they do have a LOT of industry which is coal, but I am sure it is undercounted.

The real issue is that the West is MUCH more efficient. So maybe it takes a ton of coal to produce a ton of steel in the west, it takes 2 tons in China.

Right from the start this was a scam. The Kyoto agreement gave incentives to switch production to less efficient producers, and add shipping. It was known at the time but the green shit heads thought it was a matter of principal and we couldn't punish the third world, yada yada.

__________

I don't think they do anymore, since they're both adults now.

But seriously, how much "white supremacist" violence are they likely to be exposed to on Martha's Vineyard, or at Harvard?

For that matter, how much "white supremacist" violence would they be exposed to anywhere? It's a bullshit myth that our country is awash in "white supremacism," being spread by our asshole media, Hollywood, and big business.

If either of the Obama girls were to be exposed to violence, it's most likely to come from some other blacks, not from whites, who commit very little inter-racial crime (unlike blacks, who attack other races in disproportionately high numbers).
