The Saturday Morning Joke

Donald Trump, George Bush and Joe Biden were set to face a firing squad in a small central American country.

Donald Trump was the first one placed against the wall and just before the order was given he yelled out "Earthquake". The firing squad fell into a panic and Donald Trump jumped over the wall and escaped during the confusion.

George Bush was the second one placed against the wall. The squad was reassembled and George pondered what he had just witnessed. Again before the order was given George yelled out "Tornado". Again the squad fell apart and George slipped over the wall.

The last person Joe Biden was placed against the wall. He was thinking, I see the pattern here, just scream out something about a disaster and hop over the wall. He confidently refused the blindfold as the firing squad was reassembled. As the rifles were raised in his direction, he grinned from ear to ear and yelled "Fire".

51 It's supposed to reach the mid-70s here this afternoon so a couple friends and I plan to take a nice walk on our preferred walking trail. Then we will set up our lawn chairs and chat for an hour or so. Sounds pretty boring, yes? But we haven't done this since the beginning of October. We used to take our walk, then go to a coffee shop to visit.

Another couple of friends and I are planning to go out to dinner -- if we can find someplace that is actually open, rather than take-out only -- because all three of us are now fully vaccinated. We used to do this once a month.

The restaurant my stitching group used to meet at once a month is still closed, take-out only. We've tried twice to meet at a park, and both times the wind was blowing so hard we could barely hold onto our food much less actually stitch. Hopefully, we can try again next Sunday.

But the reality is The Masters is famous throughout the world. Even many Americans who don't play or watch golf, know The Masters as the first start of Spring. Yes you can make acorn flour! But you have to leach the tannin out of the acorns first. You soak them in water for awhile, then dry and grind into flour. There was a self published book in the 70s on it. And they make good pig feed.

there is some truth there. The country is changing and well, my opinion is it is for the worse. In may day it was football, baseball, basketball, and golf. Now it is frisbee golf, soccer, and likely some app people play with.

You don't even have to have a Palmer, Woods, or Nicklaus. Seve and The Shark brought in the viewers. Now you have kids who play like men. I don't want to sound too curmudgeonly, but damn, some of these guys are embarrassing. I am not sure if this is particular to golf, I think it is a society thing.

I like the book Food Security For the Faint of Heart. It's a good overview and includes gardening. Mormon Church has a lot of good information out there and there are lots of good books and websites. I like Alaska Prepper on You Tube.

If you've never known anyone thay does this, it's hard to visualize. My friend's pantry looked like a small grocery store. She had bulk items stored in the white buckets with oxygen removers. She used mylar bags to repackaged dried items. She had a lot of variety. You can go far just buying extras of the foods you normally buy, if dried or canned.

Golf goes through cult of personality sine wave popularity changes. There are a lot of old timer fans, like me, that are happy with it having a marginal appeal. It's a difficult game and not for everyone. Plus it requires a *lot* of real estate so the progs hate it.

Btw the MLB dumbfuckery was almost 100% sponsor driven. The players don't really care.

349 344 not sure if you meant this, but " A Good Walk Spoiled" was a very good book about the pga tour. The author is a lefty prick, but he did right a good book. Sure it is dated now, but no doubt it was a good read.

I recall a legit poll of pga tour players during the 80s and 90s. They self proclaimed to be Republicans by over 80 percent. My guess now is it is more like 70 percent, because of the way the country is moving. Even the ultral lefty Feinstein, who write about them, admits most of them are conservative. But we see all major organizations are moving left to save themselves. Too bad, because in golf for sure the majority are conservative.

I am down to PBR at this point.
