EMT 1/16/21

I am currently testing the axiom "you have to spend money to make money".

Contractors are a predictable complication to the ability to make money at this point.

I'm in a race to make enough money to pay off my debts before my avenues to make money is deemed *ist or *phobic, and must be necessarily transferred to a more deserving entity.

I can't say I have much hope, but for some perversely masochistic reason, I can't stop trying.

Earlier I mentioned that I found Newsmax on Pluto TV. Also Wetaher Nation, which is like The Weather Channel but with more useful information, like a sidebar showing the temps/forecast for major and medium U.S. cities, and not as many commercials yet. 15 Headline on home page: "Pelosi holds back articles of impeachment articles as House builds case"

I'm not a lawyer, but. . . isn't that something you should do before the House vote to impeach?
Seems to be the prosecutorial version of "you have to pass Obamacare to know what's in it."

16 I am currently testing the axiom "you have to spend money to make money".

I did something similar with the Robinhood app. A co-worker kept talking about it back in June/July, so I checked it out. So many stocks cratered due to COVID that I knew would have to bounce back. Bought lots of stock in cruise lines and airlines. Overall, in 6 months I've seen about 20% return on investment, with some (Norwegian Cruise lines) up +60%.

I have a feeling the markets will continue to rise in the short term due to Biden bringing corporatism back to Washington, loosening immigration and China trade restrictions, and passing massive deficit spending. The trick will be to time it so I bail once it all starts crashing.

Posted by: Grimmy at January 16, 2021 06:15 AM (3MG/9)

17 I do think money will be next to worthless very soon, Democrats like printing it o there will be twice as much of it in 4 years. The debt will double again in that time.

My next door neighbor, in his 80's, died last week of a brain aneurysm, but he also had covid. Something I noticed because I think I've already had covid, is sudden BP spikes. I'm normally 130/80 but went as high as 160/110 for short periods. If same or similar happened to my neighbor that's pretty deadly at that age. Protip: the 'blue pill' drops BP pretty quickly. Not medical advice, just my experience.

So, what did my neighbor die of? An aneurysm or complications of covid?

Recruitment will really suffer if congress starts making college free for everyone. I suppose they could just start giving massive enlistment bonuses....it's just money, why not?

As for the "NG now authorized lethal force" crap, Soldiers are ALWAYS authorized some force, up to lethal, in the conduct of their duties. If troops are deployed for civil disturbance ops, it's doctrinal to have a least some personnel armed to provide lethal force if the situation escalates to require it. The above statement implies troops have 007 status to shoot people who look at the capital funny, and if it's something crazy like that, I'm going to want to see the leaked ROE/RUF.

91 Found out yesterday our 25-year old son James has tested positive for the WuFlu. He's autistic, and lives in a group home, so it was probably inevitable that he'd be exposed to it eventually. Talked to him yesterday by video, and except that he looked tired and had a stuffed nose, he seemed pretty normal. He's young and strong, I'm sure he'll be fine, but naturally I started worrying that he'd end up in hospital or things could go horribly wrong.

I'll just point out, though, that being in a residence for handicapped adults, they have been subject to rigorous government restrictions, meaning cancelled day programs, masks, quarantine periods, and almost total absence of visits home or to their house. And yet he and others in the house STILL came down with this, while his dad, brother, sister and I are not sick, despite living with much fewer restrictions. I think a fair evaluation would be that the mask and social distancing rigmarole are of very little importance in the transmission of this virus.

I have a sister who lives in a group home with 4 other girls. From the onset of the Wu-Flu until sometime in August, they were locked in their house. Like your son's situation -cancelled day programs, etc. These girls weren't able to leave the house. Couldn't go in their back yard, couldn't go for a walk down the street. Now there is COVID in the house. They are all locked in their rooms. Being mentally handicapped provides its own challenges. But the mental abuse from all of this isolation has caused a very significant mental decline with them.

Well apparently there were some protesters who wanted to kill members of the congress

but unfortunately for the media, they were the leftist ones.

The ones who were pretending to be MAGA, but were actually trained leftist agitators and members of antifa and BLM, were the only violent people in that crowd. They were the ones exhorting the others to "burn this shit down" and find members of congress (and Mike Pence, reportedly) and kill them.

The shift, from US European Command to the command that overseas US military relations and operations across the Middle East, was announced Friday and was reportedly ordered by President Donald Trump.

Israel for decades had been in the sphere of European Command because of the hostile nature of its relations with many Arab countries, a condition that was viewed as making it difficult for Central Command to do business with both Israel and the Arab world.

THIS is actually very important. And again Thank You PDT

In that vein, we are no longer obligated to this sham of a government. The contract has been burned.

Agree with every word you said. Covid helped "defeat" Trump insofar as it gave the Crimicrats the tools to cheat on a massive, never-seen-before scale. I can only say I'm unsure if they could've pulled off the fraud without mail-ins, given that our safeguards from the state legislatures and courts failed every step of the way to protect the integrity of their states voting systems. They simply didn't care. Mail-ins just made it much easier.

And yes, the Biden phony presidency is illegal, therefore everything he will usher in is illegal. But since Communists/Marxists do not care about pesky things like that, the end result for us will be the same.

True, and the US intelligence community collects all email here, incoming and outgoing, encrypted or not. Once it's collected it can be decrypted if there's any interest in the sender, recipient(s) or content. I doubt there's an encryption method that we can't break, if someone wanted to read an email bad enough.

Same goes for cell phone calls and land line calls.

It has always been that way. The elites who used this moderately dangerous virus, to only a few specific subgroups like +75, obese, heart condition, cancer, etc, are really at risk.
Or more specifically, no more at risk to the general population than the seasonal flu or pneumonia.
What is it is, is an attack from China on the western world, led by the US, and abetted by elitist Democrats, UniParty Republicans, the Bezos-Gates crowd (oh, I guess I already said elitists) and their tools in Progda.

I think, at least my dad told me this when he worked at one of those 3 letter agencies back in the 60's - 80's, is that the collection of data, regardless of content is stored and then "processed" before anyone actually looks at it. It has to do with how analysts search for words, phrases, names, etc.

An message such as "drink your Ovaltine" would stand out and probably be decrypted just so an analyst could see what was encrypted and sent to X number of people. A normal person would find it funny. "Bob at NSA" would probably SWAT whomever sent it.

267 It has always been that way. The elites who used this moderately

condition, cancer, etc, are really at risk.

Posted by: LeftCoast Dawg at January 16, 2021 08:28 AM (sy5kK)
I'm not sure even they were at risk. I think the CDC admission is that the sole and exclusive cause of death was those other factors and COVID didn't contribute in any way. If they'd had COVID and not those other factors, they'd ~100% likely have survived. Given those other factors, they would have died exactly when they died without covid and regardless of whether we locked down, wore masks, etc. etc.

There was a movie about her a few years back.

Anyway, I've said it before, but the preoccupation with nazis is probably unhelpful to either side, as they are both quick to find nazis where none exist. Antifa completely believes that using "nazi" to describe others is useful because (and I've said this too) in every film nothing gets a more positive reaction than the death or defeat of nazis, even individual ones. So their "punch a nazi" really doesn't get much blowback no matter how untrue the characterization is. And if you look at antifa, and I have, they are preoccupied with race and "privilege" mythology and they tie it very tightly around the neck of Christianity, using Taittinger Champagne as the jumping off point for fascism (and opposition to communism which is perfect).

It's uncanny that you said that, CN. When reading about her, those very thoughts went through my mind. I was actually waiting to see comment sections on some of these pieces on her full of "punch a Nazi/kill Trump" posts. I didn't go looking for them. But yes, you can't try to open a stupid leftist's eyes to her alarm bells on what she witnessed and the Nazis in particular, of course, without them thinking it's a vindication of their willingness to kill us by labeling us the same. Her story is way more than that of Nazis. That's just a label, to be used by whomever wants to use it as a cudgel against another. Her story is about facing totalitarianism, tyranny and all that came with it.

363 @342

Yes, but the op they chose to finish Trump off was a particularly ingenious op, Trump is not an expert in infectious diseases, his instincts were good but he was largely trapped by it, so he had to defer to his "experts" who were obviously in on the op, and once they trapped him they were free to conjure other ops to prick at Trump and then they fixed on changing voting to finish the job.

And they did, and here we are.

So, there's that.

369 Most lottery winners are bankrupt in 5 years.

But is that because the lottery windfall transforms the winner into a spendthrift? Or is it because 95% of people who play the lottery are by nature reckless and improvident about money, and giving them a huge sum just results in them behaving they way they've always behaved? I think it's the latter, but since money-fools are such a majority of winners, there are very few cases of sensible people winning the lottery and using it wisely, as they've always done with money. Such people probably are against wasting money on such chancy enterprises to begin with.

They correctly surmise that the idea "if we'd have punched the nazis in the 30s, we could have stopped Hitler" would resonate with many. The reality that they would choose totalitarianism to accomplish this illusory goal has not surprised them at all, because who could object to stopping/killing nazis?

Meh. I can't blame too much. Ultimately, he's just one guy, and to be successful, he needed a group of loyal, dedicated lieutenants to assist him. I think, like us, he believed there were SOME good Republicans who actually believed in the party's stated goals...all they needed was a based outsider to show some spine and let them work.

When 90% of your cabinet, and their replacements, are traitors, along with 95% of the government's senior bureaucracy...you're going to have trouble accomplishing much.

Now is definitely the time to rip one's money out of the stock market, 401k, etc. and pay off the mortgage. You've got a mortgage and they decide to pull your insurance, bank takes your house, no? Am I reading that wrong?

379 378. Yes you are reading that wrong. If you have a mortgage and you cannot get insurance-which is extremely unlikely- the bank will assign an insurer to insure it. I would urge people to not do anything in a panic over what you think might be coming.

While I've seen others learn the things they want done. They have books for all this and books for each separate thing. And videos all over the place. At this point in my life though, just do it please. I called maintenance to replace a smoke alarm battery. Too much bother, I have to reach up. Social distancing.
