I'm sorry -- I mean lunatic bastard. She's a dude now, man! (But "he" will continue to play female roles, of course. None of that rule that you must only play your own sexuality for them! That's a rule that applies to normal people only.)

Kevin Fiege has now declared that the character played by the Christian, normie actor is bisexual.

That will now put Chris Pratt through a whole new cycle of embarrassing questions and then SJW attacks when he fails to be enthusiastic about playing a gay character to the precise (ever-escalating) level demanded by the SJWs.

The Daily Mail is already pushing that angle.

Oh, by the way, forgot to mention: He's not just bisexual. He's also polyamorous, in a three way cuck/bisexual sex triangle with a woman and a man.

I want to stress that Kevin Fiege took over Marvel Comics, the publishing arm, not just the movie studio, over a year ago so this is being done at the top boss' order.

He made some commonsense comment about transgenders -- think it was something about the little kids are not really making the decision, the parents are -- so then there's suddenly a Saved by the Bell series resurrection, with Mario's character's kid being the main character, and all Mario has to do is portray the father of a trans kid. The main character is a trans kid! Spoiler alert: Mario gave in, took the role, renounced his earlier comments about trans kids.

What they're doing to Pratt is not random, it is intentional.

That was the bonus, as it was mostly a cash move as Downey Jr. was making huge bank off the role and Evens was saying he didn't want to do it anymore (probably also to angle for big bank).

123 They could replace Starlord but Pratt is so good at the role and so fun to watch, it would be very, very hard to pull off. I don't think audiences would flock to see Tom Cruise take the role or something.

The more likely event is that what footage they have of Pratt would be used, then he dies in some humiliating stupid way, and one of the weird female characters takes the lead.

Other than Starlord and Groot, nobody is likable in that entire team though. They seem to actually hate each other. Like the sequel to Bad Boys, where the two main characters spend more time spewing awful things and being jerks to each other than they do fighting bad guys.

I mean, guys tend to banter when buddies, particularly when in danger, but they took that way over the top. They really genuinely seem to hate each other.

For that matter, there was a time in this country when, for those fortunate enough to know how to read, adolescent boys were reading Tacitus and Epictetus. Sometimes in the original Latin or Greek, for the really rich ones who could afford the full classical education.

Not that we can (or maybe even should) go back to that, but once that kind of education was abandoned in favor of entertainment, it was inevitable that it would become more of a focus for people, later and later into life.

I outgrew DC Comics at age 11. James Bond captured my attention.

That said, the Chris Claremont stories for X-Men in the early and mid-'80s, like The Phoenix Saga, impressed me quite a bit. None -- well, very little -- of that "comics" dialog explaining things the reader can see in the comic panel; actual characterization and good dialog; a sense of grandeur, imagination, and sacrifice . . . good stuff.

Gunn has said that this will be the last Guardians film with this cat anyway. Not sure why Feige feels the need to try to ramp up people with this, who will likely also ramp up the "Remember Gunn and the pedophilia tweets" thing.

But I guess it you suspect your films going forward will only be on Disney+ you try to market for them however you can before the studio tells you the budget for your next blockbuster is half (or less) than they were giving you when theaters were still a thing.

And you cannot replace Downey in that role, period. Nobody is going to make it work like he did.

Captain America died because F Captain America for being an American icon and unabashedly Christian, old fashioned, and patriotic. Chris Evans didn't want to play the role any more and again, he's getting older.

Comics you can keep doing the same character at the same age indefinitely. Kitty Pryde was 13 and a half for like 12 years, and she's one of the very few characters they actually put an age on. Superman has been around 25-35 since 1938.

But movies, the actors age and you can't keep putting them into that costume any longer. So you either change the actor (James Bond) or you reboot (Spider-Man, Spider-Man, Spider-Man) or they die. Marvel chose death.

Depends on which story you're talking about.

The Infinity Gauntlet story arc was him promising to kill half the universe in return for getting the stones from Death.

He made the deal, they delayed doing anything about it because crazy and power hungry. Then he decided he needed to fulfill his end of the bargain, which brought everyone fighting Thanos to try to stop him.

But Marvel being mostly written by idiots has done that story line more than once with Thanos.

It's a blurry picture, I don't know how anyone would be so confident, regardless of how well the nose and chin match.

As I said above, he also strongly resembles Anthony Weener. Body shape, in addition to the profile.

I'm willing to keep an open mind on it, but without a clearer photo (and an ear match, since it's a straight on view of it), I'd say it's not possible to be sure.

According to other posters, with the approval of some legislators in PA and GA, Republican electors cast votes for PDT. Also, Democrat electors in those states cast votes for Biden at the direction of the SoS. If the reports are correct, and I haven't checked but I have no reason to doubt it since the posters who reported this a regular and reliable hordians, there are now two sets of electors from those two states.

403 I usually hate comic book movies. But I have to admit, in all honesty, I really liked both Guardians of the Galaxy movies. The gags were mostly very funny and the music was good. The villain chacters were really stupidly written, but the the other aspects of the movies outweighed the lousy parts. Now, there goes another guilty pleasure.

I kinda took the lousy stupid cliche villains to be part of the joke.

Unlike DC movie villains, which weren't meant to be a joke. Gunn is many other things, but he's also a talented story creator. If he thinks it's clever, it would make absolute sense that he would shit on the convention, of villains being one dimensional clods.

Sorta like what they did with Deadpool, having him make fun of the X-men sidekicks he had to work with. They didn't have access to the A team, because of copyright and all that, so they made a joke of it.

In the first movie they didn't have the budget for main characters, but they had access (Colossus was there as well as the X-mansion) as Fox had all the X-Men and I think most mutants as well, which is why Disney Marvel basically stopped doing much with mutants as a whole, so Fox couldn't get ideas for movie stories.

Apparently they did a really good job of killing the brand to spite Fox as even the post "We own all the rights again, and can do full X-Men/mutant stories once more!" have largely sold for crap.

The second film of Deadpool it seems they mostly ran with the joke of not having any of the main characters (though Cable has been a main X-man for decades now as well).

Movie going, was part of life. Once a week for me. Loved the cinema. Adored it. Even studied film. Did feature news, for local TV, in my early teens. Before ENG!

I went to see the first film because I hoped the raccoon character would have funny dialog, and that he and Pratt's character would be a modern analog to Culp and Cosby in I Spy or Newman and Redford in Butch Cassidy. Didn't work out that way.

558 Theaters, due to COVID, are a thing of the past, so big-screen movies are as well. And Sam's Club popcorn is cheaper, tastier, and less likely to contain Escherichia coli.

YouTube has free movies, if I need to watch stuff at home. Plus I still have DVDs and Blue-ray disks and players. And don't forget the web archives for public domain movies.

Amazon is the Washington Compost. Hulu is Disney. Netflix plays pedopr0n and funds Barry and the Wookie. All are pretty much off my Christmas card list.
