"MovieBob" is a fat neckbeard leftist. I don't know much about him, except that all of the people I read or watch hate his guts.
He is of, of course, a Male Feminist. Now, I don't really like dogpiling and mobbing up on someone. But this guy's a real asshole. I heard back from the moderately upscale restaurant where we plan to have Thanksgiving dinner. They had to buck my no-mask, medical exemption request up the like to a vice-president, no less. They came back with a compromise: that when I get up to go to the restroom, I put a napkin over my nose and mouth.
That's right. I should be shamed because I can't wear the damned face diaper, and instead put a napkin over my mouth as if I were about to be sick from their food and am rushing to the men's room to vomit.
I will give them this: They are being very nice about the whole thing, and instead of slamming down the window and saying, "mask or you can go elsewhere," they are willing to compromise. But it is the stupidest compromise I've ever heard of.
"It's about the perception by other diners," they say. But what kind of perception will they have of a guy who looks like he's rushing to the men's room to upchuck the restaurant's food?

But yeah, I had to get away for a day earlier this week, went to Deception Pass area, watched sea otters and seals, and caught Dungeness crab.
It was getting to me too, and I had to break for a while. Even me.

If you aren't careful, you'll come away from Death Becomes Her wondering how he ever was an Action Hero, and thinking of him as a milksop he plays.
There are a couple of people who have given performances where I can stop an emotional reaction to their character from confusing my thinking about the actor.
I didn't want to watch another Keaton movie after Pacific Heights (I hated him)
I didn't know what to make of Willis in Death Becomes Her.
I never hated Bruce Dern for killing John Wayne in the cowboys or for any other nasty role that Dern played so well. I'm really not the type to have an emotional reaction to the movies.
But Keaton scared the crap out of me in Desperate Measures, and I hated him after Pacific Heights.

The long and short of it is that the federal government cannot force local law enforcement to enforce federal laws any more then they can force state legislatures to pass laws. The feds and states are supposed to be co-sovereigns.
They can, of course, "incentivize" states to pass laws (drinking age going up to 21, for example), but even that has all kinds of asterisks.
So, no one will enforce a "national lockdown."
States, of course, can do their own lockdowns.

I noticed Willis has been in a string of the kind of abysmally bad movies I enjoy. I mean there's a limit of course - Trauma Center is the worst movie ever - but I like that crap and I watch a lot of it.
I eventually noticed their all distributed by the same firm, and Bruce has like five minutes of screentime, and they put him on the cover.
I think he probably signed a lucrative, minimum-effort 5000-movie deal with these guys and is just riding his name to retirement. I'll bet these guys film most of the movies near his house so he can be home by 5.

Bruce Willis started out as the milksop. David Addisson in Moonlighting was a fast-talking, hilarious, but wimpy con artist. That was the role that put him on the map.
He did Die Hard while on between-seasons hiatus from Moonlighting, and it was totally out of character. Which is one reason that DH worked so well, he was the plodding cop everyman who was thrust into a hopeless situation and had to rise to the occasion. EVERY guy in the audience could identify with him, because we could see ourselves in him.
Nowadays, it's all "former Navy SEAL" or "former CIA Agent", or "former contract assassin". Ho-hum. No wonder most modern action films are so forgettable.

Yup. I don't know what the deal is with some of the chains having dining rooms open - I'm guessing if they have so much sq ft they can get away with a few occupied tables. All the small places are screwed.
The ones that were set up for take-out are doing ok, like the local BBQ joint. Others not so much, especially if they can't put tables on the sidewalk. You just can't get many tables in front of your place at 10' apart.
In the end, Taco Bell WILL win the restaurant wars. Home Depot, Costco, and especially Amazon. I'm not even hopeful for a lot of the grocery stores.

They are guys who are losers and never got laid when they were younger.
They hear girls complain about guys who are "total assholes!" They too hate those "total assholes" because the "total assholes" were the ones going to all the fun parties and getting all the girls in high school and college.
So in their mind, they think if they say "ladies, I'm with you! I, too, hate total assholes! I'm an ally to you! I hate the patriarchy and toxic masculinity!" they'll finally be able to get girls.
The thing they don't realize is that while the girls may complain about the "total asshole" who they had a huge crush on in high school, had sex with, then he started dating someone else ... they're still attracted to that guy.

Multi-ethnic people like me also get the short straw. You're expected to swear allegiance to one set of ancestors and be that and only that. You can't say "I'm a Anglo-Celtic-Cherokee-Spaniard-Moor". You have to pick one and be the cardboard cutout caricature of it, or you're a race traitor. If you use something from the other side of your own heritage, it's cultural appropriation.
