American Greatness Poll: Trump Takes Four Point Lead in Florida

Susquahanna polling, conducting a poll for American Greatness, finds Trump with a four point lead, 48 to 44.

Donald Trump has taken a 4-point lead over Joe Biden in Florida according to a new survey by Susquehanna Polling and Research for the Center for American Greatness.

The phone survey of 400 likely voters conducted October 23-25 showed Trump with 48 percent and Biden with 44 percent support, with a 4.9 percent margin of error.Libertarian Jo Jorgensen gets 2 percent of the vote, while 6 percent of respondents remain undecided or refused to answer. If "leaners" are included, Trump leads 48.5-44. This same poll conducted last month using the same methodology showed Biden with a 3-point lead.

A friend pointed out this site which organizes early voting in Florida and North Carolina.

The below map is their "Advantage Map" graphic. This map color-codes counties not by whether Republicans or Democrats are voting more, but according to the Republican or Democrat advantage in 2020 as compared to the baseline of 2016.

Miami-Dade county being colored pink does not mean Republicans are winning Miami-Dade, but it does mean that more Republican ballots have been turned in in Miami-Dade this year than in 2016.

The three big Democrat counties are Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach. A bunch more Republicans have returned ballots in Miami-Dade in 2020 than in 2016 )(+23,145 Republican ballots). In Broward and Palm Beach, Democrats got more ballots than they did in 2016 -- about +19,600 for the Democrats, over the 2016 level.

But that means in the three biggest Democrat counties, Republicans have actually gained +4,000 ballots on the Democrats.

And as you can see from the rest of the map: there's a lot of bright red in other, more Republican-leaning counties.

Plus, the Democrat Party, not the Republican Party, really pushed its stalwarts to vote by mail and, if not by mail, then to vote early in person.

There are also more Republicans ballots returned in early voting in Wisconsin than Democrat ballots:

101 From October 18th...

Sunday Morning Math (sorry)

We had some discussion of Florida early voting last night, so I put together a spreadsheet based on the current early voting results.

Based on multiple polls early voting intentions are that 60% of Democrats, 30% of GOP, and 34% of Non Party Affiliated (NPA) plan to early vote in Florida.

I went back and looked at the 2016 results, growth in registration, and the shift in registration strength by each party.

In order to end up with the same results as 2016, each party should expect to see the following number of early votes:

Dem - 2,568,561
GOP - 1,317,634
NPA - 1,056,870

Current performance as of 10/25:
Dem - 2,290,670
GOP - 1,903,762
NPA - 1,030,518

Over/under performance:
Dem - (277,891)
GOP - 586,128
NPA - (26,352)

Conclusions: The Republicans are over a half million ahead of where they need to be on 11/2. This shows that some of that election day voting is getting in early and enthusiasm.

The Democrat lack of enthusiasm is showing, they are at about 90% of where they need to be to even eek out the same loss that Hillary had. They have 9 days to close this gap. It should be doable given they have this Sunday and next Sunday to get their voters to the polls.

But overall the Dems are not banking enough of a lead, and are lagging the GOP by 850K votes. They either need a big drop in GOP election day performance or a heavy vote from the NPA group.

These results do not say to me that there are enough Karens in Florida, that can't wait to get rid of OrangeManBad, to swing this for Biden.

108 Uhm it's already happening. Some states have early voting that starts in Sept.

Exactly, that was the whole point of the enormously early voting; to get people on the bandwagon before the truth came out, and to try to make the polls legit.

But... its not working as intended.

not sure if the first post was a joke or not. How do you cannibalize a vote you already cast. If anything, I would think it helps the Ds with their vote harvesting efforts.

I voted early because that is the game we are playing this time around. I would rather we all vote on election day, but thems not the rules. I am glad to have it in no matter what happens. I have always voted on election day until this time. I could have had excuses to absentee vote but I never cared to do so. This time around it is what it is. And I know my vote is in no matter what the future brings.

I think Trump would tell people to vote early if they can and spend election day helping potential Trump voters get to the polls.

The flip side of confidence is complacency, so I don't think a bit of pessimism and anxiety is necessarily bad, if it motivates you to get out and add your vote to the total and just not slack off in general.

But I do think Trump will pull this out. I'm not forecasting a landslide (the sham court decisions in PA may well give it back over to the Dems), but definitely a victory.

Whether you have voted, and the party affiliation (if any) you declared when you registered to vote, are public record.

Your actual ballot is not.

When they say they've received "more Democrat (or more Republican) ballots, what that actually means is they've received more ballots from people who declared that party on their registration.

Which may or may not be the way they're voting in this election.

She won't. All this talk about recusal comes from legal amateurs and ideologues; everyone remotely connected with the Courts knows it's all a big joke, an act thrown out there for the kabuki theater fines. Do you know what rules there are governing a Supreme Court Justices recusal?

NONE. THERE ARE NO OFFICIAL RULES.

at best, there is the Judical Code of Ethics, but that is a lot like the Pirate's Code - it's really more of a set of guidelines, rather than rules. Kagan did recuse herself from one decision a couple years back - she had been part of the case at an early stage, and agreed that it wasn't fair for her to be judging the constitutionality of a case where she had been the lawyer arguing one of the sides. They'll recuse if a close relative is involved in a case, or if they have a personal financial connection to the case. But other than that, Supreme Court Justices don't recuse themselves.

I noted on a thread last week that I heard on a radio show that the GA GOP knocked on over two million doors this cycle. 1. Hillary called Trump a big dumb meanie who is orange instead of focusing on issues
2. Hillary said trump's voters were *spit* the worst people

Biden instead has make benefit superior strategy of:

1. Biden focuses on how Trump supporters are proud boys and therefore bad superspreaders of The Vid.
2. Biden calls lids to campaign from home.
3. Biden focuses on things he imagined trump said instead of issues.

468 There are reports that more GOPs than Dems are turning in absentee ballots in Michigan, which is pretty funny.

I think the plan all along was for the gov to use her Super Powers to declare all polls closed (or so restricted they were effectively closed) and then rely on mail fraud to carry the state.

But the state Supreme Court took away her Super Powers.

Still, I think the Dems wanted to make the polls tough to get to, so the AG and SoS both declared guns are forbidden and also asked State Police to defend the polling places.

You know, from redneck terrorists who talk to FBI informants a lot.

Well, that's certainly pissing off the gun rights people, but since the Dems aren't turning in ballots, now there's total panic on the Dem side.

Fun to watch.

That reminds me ... I really, truly enjoy how Trump trolls the MSM during his rallies. When he brought up Hunter Biden at a recent PA rally, he called out the news outlets "Hey, they're cutting off the coverage. I saw two red lights go off [the TV cameras]."

534 I just watched clips of Biden's last three stops. Why is yelling in all of them?

He thinks it sound energetic and strong? The truth is when Biden is being accused or confronted he gets angry and aggressive and loud. That's where his "I don't work for you" and "Look fat" stuff comes from. He substitutes anger and in your face tough guy talk for real action and ability.

He didn't even kill anybody, did he? Seems kind of harsh for a mere cult leader.

Probably like 12325 counts of some crime with minimum sentencing time.

We've seen that pretty much everybody he picks from the swamp lives up to their moniker. And it takes at least a year to figure out they're completely useless or worse, a saboteur.

I've been saying for 2 years he should start choosing positions from the private sector. Heck, grab anybody off the street (except DC) and you'd stand a better chance of having somebody who isn't a backstabbing commie.

He's got a lot of people to fire coming up, and replacements aren't going to come easy. Of course, I think he should only replace half of them and we'd be better off.

I liked the CoDominium Navy and Marines descriptions in The Mote in God's Eye and sequels. Unfortunately, they didn't have much between ship action or boarding action, but the separate cultures of the CD Navy and Marines was well-written.

in the search for content to watch during The Vid, I'm returning to the 90's. I'm watching Highlander TV show now. I remember back in the last days of the millenia seeing ads suggesting it was a tawdry show, vandernoots' boobs...but it's pretty tame.

Other 90's I want to watch/rewatch:
strange luck
homicide
millenium
and yes, space above and beyond.

One night when I was stationed in Cuba a Russian Cargo ship came through the bay and was towing barges filled with construction equipment while I was out in my boat fishing.

One of them broke loose and grounded itself over by Leeward Point, I went over to tie off on it and claim salvage rights in International waters and the friggin Base Security guys waved me off and said go away. They would not let us get close.

The Russians came back and towed it away.

I was pi$$ed and tried to file a claim but they shot it down.

I will never trust that fucker ever. He burned his bridges with me in 2016. He's proving me right. He also said during the Barrett Hearings that we are "a democracy". The only people who say we're a democracy are bullshitting asshole Democrats. Usually.
Posted by: ... at October 27, 2020 06:09 PM (uEbPt)

Cruz knows how to be cagey. He's right--what most Americans know think about Hunter right now is that he's some troubled 20-year old who got mixed up in smoking some weed.

Let's not throw Cruz to the wolves because we know so much more than the average American. He does, too.

Holding your powder and bluffing your location before taking your best shot is not cowardice.

Cruz is no dummy and he's solidly with us.

621 The kings and queens of our culture will not let lockdowns last past next week. They can't afford it.

James, I wish you were right. History will show, sadly, that you were not. You don't understand what makes these people tick, or where they are at mentally. They don't give a shit anymore, and a Trump win is only going to make it worse. They're going to cling to these mask mandates and restrictions until the bitter end. They're going to enhance and expand the misery as much as they possibly can - even if it hurts them more than it hurts anyone else.

You're making the classic mistake, bud. You're trying to assign a level of logic and reason to their actions, based upon how you would act in a similar circumstance. That's not how it works. That's not how they work. They're Einsatzgruppen. They won't stop.

In some states (maybe most?) you declare a party affiliation when you register. In others, they know which primary you voted in. I am a precinct chair in Texas and I know every voter in the precinct's history of primary voting (either R or D). It's public knowledge. Not how you voted in the general, but if you've voted in the last 4 D primaries it's probably not worth trying to convince you to vote Trump. Same is true if you've voted in the last 4 R primaries, but for a different reason - you don't need convincing.

Socialists - Communists - I don't get real excited about quibbling over the exact word. I get what you're saying.

Here's what I truly think, after watching what "they" do quite a bit. Remember how much certain people here would really, really shit themselves over Let It Burn ? Those peeps are either unwilling or unable to get to that mental and emotional space, and they sure as shit can't understand it. I'm convinced that quite a few on the Left have decided to Make It Burn - for many of the same motivations as the Let It Burns. And they don't give a damn anymore. They don't give a damn about anything, even surviving. They just want to Make It Burn.

630 @#12 Mark

They don't know who anyone voted for until the ballot envelopes are opened, but they can track Ds and Rs in states with closed primaries and public party registration.

However, Wisconsin is not one of those states, so I don't know how anyone can claim more Rs or Ds early voting.

633 182 That's a stretch, but I would have an orgasm if DJT tops the national popular vote.

I've thought this since last year: if Trump wins, he wins the popular vote, too.

---

If this happens, Trump should demand the EVs from all of the deep Blue states that signed up to give their votes to the "Popular Vote" winner. Let's see how fast those laws are repealed.
