Show entries put in for the Dallas cluster in early December.
Pre-COVID, making show entries was easy. All you had to do was be sure you made them before they closed at noon on Wednesday two weeks before the show weekend. Now shows have limited entries, so to avoid getting shut out we have to know when entries open, which can be 8:00 AM, 11:00 AM, 5:00 PM, 8:00 PM or whenever.
There's another consideration for us. The earlier the entry is made, the lower the armband number. Judges almost always have the dogs in the ring lined up in catalogue order, lowest armband number first. By getting our entry in the second entries open, Delilah gets a number that puts her ahead of her #BigKennel rival. Lila moves beautifully while the rival slobs around the ring like the rest of her line. The contrast, Her Majesty says, is striking.
It takes a Machiavellian mind like Her Majesty's to think of stuff like that. No wonder I call her The Field Marshal.

I heard Bill O'Reilly talk a couple of years ago about Fox changing. (from what I remember) He said when it first started Ailes said that people get only one view on every other station and Fox would show different points of view and news that the others won't cover. Without naming names he said that changed a few years ago with orders from on high to be more like the others networks.

I don't think that our Founders ever anticipated a situation where their descendants would say "Oh noes! We have a legislature that can pass laws and we have prosecutors and courts and policemen and Even Armies, but we can't figure out what to do about this private company that operates inside our borders!"

The idea that GA is trending blue is entirely based on...dramatic drumroll...the 2018 midterms and Stacey Abrams.
They're assuming that we're going to see an extension of what happened in 2018 which saw Abrams lose narrowly.
That seems doubtful, especially with the GA state government's continued efforts at cleaning up the voter rolls.
The "other" Senate race will be interesting. The D will probably get a plurality of votes, but he needs a clear majority. So, the run off will go to him and probably Loeffler who will end up winning in January is when I think that vote is runoff would be scheduled.

350 is my over and under. He is only losing Colorado and Illinois in the interior. Might lose Nevada because of fraud. Arizona and New Mexico go Trump. He gets Maine. He gets NH. He loses the usual suspects in the NE. Virginia will be close and could go either way.

I heard Bill O'Reilly talk a couple of years ago about Fox changing. (from what I remember) He said when it first started Ailes said that people get only one view on every other station and Fox would show different points of view and news that the others won't cover. Without naming names he said that changed a few years ago with orders from on high to be more like the others networks.

Next year I'm bringing a few heavy barrel bolt action rifles. One was sighted in and can almost go in the same hole at 100 yards, but hasn't been fired in 25 years. The other has never been fired, but has been bore sighted. I think I'm ok to travel with those.

Sometimes they would just deactivate your badge so you couldn't get in. When you went to the security desk to get a temp pass, they'd send a man down (usually, though not always, your boss or one of his minions) to fire you and bring your possessions. That one was far worse, because the badge system was finnicky and you never knew if your badge failure was a normal fault or if it was your last day at work.

The only time it's acceptable to behave that way to an employee, is if they have access to sensitive, really important data they could damage or steal. Even then you can have security accompany them, which is embarrassing as it is.

My current company does. It is the most humane layoff process I have ever seen (though thankfully not experienced). When they lay you off, it's effective either immediately or at the end of the week - but they keep you on payroll until the end of the next month and then formally terminate you so unemployment starts (along with whatever severance may apply) to give you at least four weeks of normal income and benefits while you start job hunting.
That is *not* normal.

I just hate that crap. An employee has been with a company for years, busted their ass for them them and then one day the company decides to get rid of the employee and they treat them like a criminal trespassing on their property. I've been at a company where they had security at the person's desk while they cleaned it out. I know some people can flip out, but most are in shock over and probably will be for a while.

The second time it was via the phone, several rounds of layoffs had already happened, I knew my number was bound to come up eventually. It was a 30 second conversation basically me saying yep I know, it's cool. Nice working for you. Grabbed my shit, said good bye to a few co-workers and out the door I went.
Both times I wasn't upset or angry or sad even. Shit happens. Go on with your life. And both times it ended up being a blessing in disguise as the next job I got was much better than the previous one.

IT Training company I once worked for as the Senior Instructor had me find them an IT consultant to do a security sweep of the network.
Which was weird as we TAUGHT IT Security.
Once it was done, I was fired and escorted out of the building, and the 'IT Consultant' changed all the Admin passwords.
Funny thing? IT Consultant happened to be an Retired Green Beret Friend of mine, who was going through a Divorce AND WAS LIVING AT MY HOUSE.
Needless to say, there was much laughter involved, especially as he never got rid of some of the backdoors I told him about.

It's a security issue. They don't want you taking files, deleting work material from your computer or otherwise blowing up the office. In my case, I was told at 3:00 in the afternoon, so they gave me an hour to take some personal files and items to my car and put other stuff in boxes that they mailed to me. For my co-workers who were axed the previous year, they were individually called to a conference room at 9:00am to sign separation agreements and then escorted to the lobby, where they had to wait for their purses and car keys. They were allowed to come back the next day to box up personal items, but their phones and computers were deactivated.

That could lead to the actual absorption of that demo into the Republican Party.
Trump's going to treat 2024 like a CEO succession plan. He will announce his pick in early 2023, and he will help that person with every tool he can.

641 I remember a company I knew of that had 50-60 employees and the bigger company that owned it sent in a kill squad to fire them all with the intention of absorbing the business, which was successful. The termination team took them one at a time to a conference room, leaving the remaining ones at their desks. They soon figured out what was going on and started wiping the computers. Since it was an intellectual property company, all the "property" was essentially gone. They even wiped the info about a PO box where the bill for an environmental warehouse that held all the company's hard records were, so it went unpaid and everything went into the landfill. Total loss.

I had a friend that said that if it was Mike Pence at the topic of the ticket, then we would easily win.
I told him that it was my opinion that Pence wouldn't have a prayer. We aren't going back, too much has happened and Trump is the modest iteration of what comes next.

No kidding. That's why I thought it was 'Shopped and the fact that it had a font that looked like it was an Art Deco one. Biden was also on Jay Leno's car show a few years ago and the plate on his Stingray (IIRC) convertible was an ordinary DE numeric one although the last two characters are worn off on the plate a bit making them difficult to make out.

Burning bridges isn't a good idea. My point was don't get emotionally invested with your employer. Treat it as a business relationship and nothing more. But as with other business relationships don't be an asshole.
Back when I was a cube dweller I never had anything personal in my cube. No pictures, no knick knacks, nada. If I needed to pack up and leave it would take me all of 90 seconds.

The idea that Jeb or someone like him will walk in and sweep the Republican nomination is silly. Trump's not going to disappear in 2024. He's going to make sure that his company, the Republican Party and the executive branch of the federal government, carries on with someone who shares his vision.

My late BiL always called this guy "Shemp Smith". For years I helpfully corrected him: He is ESL and I thought his error was in the same category as when he said to "open/close" a room light instead of "turn on/off" the room light: a translation or language "wiring" problem.
It turns out it was his wry sense of humor at work... his way of calling the guy a clown!
Of course, I immediately objected to that!

I once had a job at a 7-11 in Goleta, California. I worked the overnight shift and man, I'm telling you I sold more fuckin' coffee from 5-7 AM than you could believe. So I decided I'd start selling coffee on my own and keep all that sweet lucre for myself.
Seems people didn't want to buy coffee served out of the rear of my Pinto hatchback in a Home Depot parking lot as much as I expected them to.
