Quarantine Cafe: Power Records Edition

Power Records:

Power Records was a related label, featuring characters licensed from DC Comics and Marvel Comics, and contemporary movies and television series (such as Kojak, Planet of the Apes, The Six Million Dollar Man, Space: 1999, and Star Trek), in stories geared toward older children. The book-and-record sets frequently featured original 20-page comic books along with an extended-play 7" record of the story. Playing the record while reading along in the book brought the story to life through music and sound effects.[4] There were also other 7" single releases. Besides book-and-record sets, LPs were produced, featuring the recorded stories without illustrations. As of 2010, none of the Power Records material has been re-released for CD or digital media due to copyright issues.[5]

Here are some of the releases.

Below, a couple of the recordings.

38 Trump team's acceptance of the "commission's" entire debate format and personnel was a ridiculous bumble, from the outset.

A perfect cycle to break the china, insist on something close to a real debate, with a timekeeper moderator who does nothing but read pre-agreed written questions and keeps the clock.

Not that it will probably make any difference. But as with a few other things, the spectacular judgement fail is puzzling.

60 Spiderman ... I had a lot of those comics from the early 60's, some Thor and Fantastic Four ... never Batman, though I watched the Batman where they'd flash "POW" on the screen in fights.

The better thing about Batman in retrospect, he was just a human, but well trained and with clever gadgets. Anyone can be a Batman (well, they kinda overdid his abilities, but still just a human). But no one has Super Powers like most of the other Super heroes (except the Bible type power of prayer stuff I suppose, but not comic book super powers.)

The Scooby Doo gang, maybe they were even better role models? ... Average goofballs, but honest.

Your face has been added to the design for my badass new living-room rug. Whether Trump wins or loses, you're going into my rug.

I recommend that you look into your phone contact list and make sure that it includes both a Level I shock-trauma surgeon and another guy who can reattach your ugly little face.

You have been given a "fuck you," and a heartfelt invitation to take a knee, smile like a donut, and gargle my 'nards.

Always remember... it was you who was born to die young and dumb.

Be prepared to suffer the severe consequences of natural selection.

92 >>Roberts as cartoon villain.

It becomes eye opening when you realize that so many people who have attained some unearned but great power over you are indeed bags of ignorant, petty and immature crap.

Roberts is father and a husband, but yet he brings no manly common understanding needed to be decent in performing those roles to the court. The rules are the rules with regards to the Constitution. These are life lessons that real men pass on to their offspring, that they bring to marriage and family. This shit bag brings nothing of that into his professional role as Chief Justice - its all liberal unworkable emotion and immaturity. He should be personally and professional ashamed of his legacy but ego is probably never going to allow it. I can't think of another man I despise more than this poser.

113 PA cannot just endlessly ballot stuff. This isn't true.

PA does not have universal vote by mail. They only have absentee ballots. There is a record of how many absentee ballots have been sent, and how many have been returned. There are also some safety mechanisms surrounding ballot tracing.

PA can manufacture some absentee ballots, sure, but unless the result is super close, they will not be able to manufacture enough ballots.

Im no expert, but Texas went to Trump by almost 1,000,000 votes. Since 2016, Voter Registration in Texas has increased by almost 1 million.

For Biden to win, in my view, almost all the new registrants would have to vote for him, or a bunch of prior Trump supporters would have to now abandon him, or the dems (including that elusive white suburban college educated woman vote) would have to be MORE motivated to vote for 10% Joe than they were for Shrillery (the historic vote!).

He's probably right here - I think Trump takes Penn by 3% or better....but this ruling by Roberts allows absentee ballot fraud to extend for two weeks or more I suppose, if an SOS from a blue state wants to, in defiance of state law, because? Well, Roberts isn't exactly clear about that other than "every vote matters" - its 8 year old incoherent blubbering written into a judgement. Its an embarrassment that no grown man would feel comfortable actually writting down so real men might laugh out loud at it, but here we are - with the biggest man-child ever assigned to the supreme court writing immature and retarded positions that the founders never contemplated.

194 PA does not have universal vote by mail. They only have absentee ballots. There is a record of how many absentee ballots have been sent, and how many have been returned. There are also some safety mechanisms surrounding ballot tracing.

I was sent an official PA ballot by secure email. The package included the instructions, an affidavit, and a mailing label. No ballot. I emailed the voting people, and they attached my ballot to the reply email, sent unsecure. I can print off as many PA ballots for my county as I want, fill them out, stuff them in an envelope and mail them to the clerk at the last second. There is a mad rush to count ballots, only the affidavit has my name on it. It is not inconceivable that a corrupt clerk would strip the ballots out of the envelopes and put them on the count stack without verifying the affidavit.

I don't really understand where all the ballots come from, where hidden camera videos reveal poll workers just dumping hundreds of ballots into the boxes at polling places, trying to cover for each other. Do they need names on each one?

Same with mail in I guess ... they'd need time to see who did not return their ballot, but maybe they switch out some ballots for other ballots ... idk how many safeguards there really are, and how much poll watchers are allowed to see.

The country is on the line, and for four years our bureaucracy has been seditious and treasonous ... they are at the tipping point of no return, so cheat and burn is the order of the day. WAR

218 124 LCD, my point (question, about whether I had a point) was whether all counties could withhold their #s while others "counted". So no, the cheaters would not know what they needed. Have no idea under PA law (ha! "law") how/if counties have deadlines to report.
Posted by: rhomboid at October 19, 2020 08:53 PM (OTzUX)

All counties will turn in some early numbers. The PA red counties will be counted out, mostly, but the Blue Corruption Centers of Philadelphia and Pittsburgh will slow down and not report all their votes. This happens every election.

Then, since they know the red counties are essentially completed counting votes, "found" votes will pour in for the next 3 days. A procession of Buicks with full trunks.

Without postmarks, or just ink smears.

This SC decision allows for this.

It's ridiculously easy - in fact, it's very predictable. I think it will be trivally easy for Philadelphia officials to add an extra 100,000 ballots if that's what they need. All the safeguards are torn down now, there's no way to verify anything - not when it's the people doing the counting who are manufacturing them.

I understand your concern; it is not unreasonable. However, in the very unlikely event that the election has not been decided on election night and it all comes down to PA, I guarantee you that you will not be able to swing a dead cat without hitting a Republican lawyer in those counting offices. There won't be 100k outstanding votes that can be easily manufactured, and registration to vote closed today.

Can we lose? Sure. Nothing in life is guaranteed. And I do wish the ruling had gone the other way. But it isn't as bad as some folks are saying.

Also note that we have WON the vast majority of these cases, thanks in no small part to Trump appointees. Dem efforts to rewrite election law were struck down in MI, WI, AZ, and a few other places.

Rush spent the first half hour talking about this.

He doesn't do it very often, he doesn't like to talk about his problems, as he said, there are a lot of people with similar problems or even worse.

He said that in January, the docs said he only had a month or two, and his private goal was to see October 1. He said he thanks God for every day, and is humbled at so many people praying for him.

The lung cancer treatments did nothing the first two rounds of chemo, worked on the third round and more, but the last MRI said the cancer started to come back.

After those two counties were essentially done, that red county reported their totals within a half-hour,

356 IIRC, in 2016 some bigger red county in PA hadn't reported any of their count by the time Philly and Pittsburgh had reported almost all of theirs.

After those two counties were essentially done, that red county reported their totals within a half-hour,

It netted a good deal of Trump's margin of victory votes.

THAT'S the way you have to play the game with the blue counties.
Posted by: Marybeth
---------------
This started in 2004. Many of the central PA counties refuse to submit their results until Philadelphia has reported. They all know what games are being played and won't allow Philly to know how many votes to manufacture.

This is also why few Republicans early vote in PA to deny knowledge to Philly regarding vote targets.

"Money For Nothing" was the first song I ever played as a radio DJ. 1985.

That happens in WI during every election now since the Walker recall election. The conservative WOW counties (Waukesha, Ozaukee, Washington) delay reporting the vote tallies until Dane (Madison) and Milwaukee counties report theirs - so Dane and Milwaukee can't manufacture the necessary amount of votes. Except the Dems are now aware of the tactic - so it's become a tiresome game of chicken, with those 5 counties undeclared looooong after everyone else has reported.

392 Some additional information regarding early voting, which is showing the difference between Biden's lack of a ground organization and Trump's well oiled machine.

Democrats are eating their high propensity voters. Almost all of the early votes that are in now for the Dems are their Trump hating crawl over glass voters.

Republicans have been focusing on getting their new voters and low propensity voters to get their votes in. They want them out of the way, so they aren't clogging up the precincts on election day when the GOP broken glass voters show up to vote.

There are some numbers from Florida showing that this has been very effective so far. The high enthusiasm vote for Trump is still waiting to vote.

401 I've always doubted the "Roberts is compromised" explanation for his votes and opinions. The simple explanation is better: he's a liberal, not a constitutionalist. Claiming that his actions are due to blackmail implies that he'd actually be a great constitutional conservative, but for the blackmail, poor fellow.

Trump is a showman, a carnival barker, a used car salesman. Is he overselling? Yes. The carnival is not the greatest show on earth. The elephant is not the largest elephant ever to walk the earth. The car was not owned by a little old lady who only drove it to the grocery store and the church. But you can trust that when your deal with him is done, you'll have a car without a tinkered-with odometer. You'll have spent an enjoyable afternoon in the big top. The GOPe tells you they need a loan, and they'll pay you back next week, unlike all the other loans they never repaid. The GOPe will borrow your good tools and give you back some cheap Chinese tools. Most republicans voters can tell the difference between those promises and vote for the one who will actually give value for their patronage.
As crappy as the GOPe is, they aren't the Dems who promise "your wife will never know, and I'm on the pill" then stick you with a lifetime commitment you never wanted. They aren't the Dems who promise to rebuild your roof for half price with a lifetime guarantee, then tear off your shingles and leave you with a bigger problem than you started with and a depleted wallet. As bad as I am repeated told Trump is, he's head and shoulders above the dung beetles in Washington.

Posted by: Floridachick at October 19, 2020 09:24 PM (ZJcqK)

PA morons, please put me some knowledge if I don't get this right, but this is what I remember regarding your state:

Philly nets around 450k votes for the Dems in a normal Pres election.

Not sure about the numbers for Allegheny (Pittsburgh) or for those 3 Philly suburb counties, but they usually net the second and third biggest totals for blue votes - although I think Trump came close in one of those in 2016.

There are a few other blue areas, like around Harrisburg, the capital, and Lackawanna county, the so-called home of the scrappy kid from Scranton

Erie usually goes blue, but went for Trump in 2016

Otherwise PA is solidly red, I believe.

In other words, it has the same problem as in other states.

Big cities and state capitals (govt workers) - blue to deep blue

Rural - deep red

Suburbs - up for grabs.

Turnout is the key.

This is his biggest weakness in my opinion. His pathological compulsion to swing at every pitch. Sometimes you just gotta let them walk you and take the free base.

SFC Cunningham: You didn't used to play baseball did ya? Shit, I know you. You're Merrill Hess! I was there the day you hit that 507-footer over the left field wall, set the record. Man, that thing had a motor on it. It's still the record right?

Merrill: Got the bat at home on the wall.

SFC Cunningham: You've got two minor league home-run records, don't ya?

Merrill: Five.

SFC Cunningham: Why weren't you in the pros making stacks of cash and getting your toes licked by beautiful women?

Lionel Prichard: 'Cause he has another record most people don't know about. He has the minor league strikeout record.

Merrill: Hello Lionel.

Lionel Prichard: Merrill's a class-A screw up. He would just swing that bat as hard as he could every time. Didn't matter what the coaches said, didn't matter who was on base. He would just whip that bat through the air as hard as he could. Looked like a lumberjack chopping down a tree. Merrill here has more strikeouts than any two players.

SFC Cunningham: You really got the strikeout record?

Merrill: Felt wrong not to swing.

Swing away, Merrill.

"White supremacist" is what "racist" used to be. See also "bigot," "sexist," "homophobe," etc. It's just another slur the left screams to try to shut people up who disagree with them. They'll overuse it, it'll lose any semblance of meaning, and eventually normies will get tired of having that screamed at them and tell the left to fuck right off with that shit.

Delta is ok and predictable. HOWEVER like all plans lately they are putting new restrictions in lowering what they will pay per precedure...thus I am seriously thinking if not longer participating with them.

Posted by: IrishEi at October 19, 2020 09:57 PM (sGotD)

Yep. You have to read the fine print. Some of the plans may be cheap and provide a broader range of dentists to choose from, but you will pay a lot more out of pocket. Other plans may be more limited in terms of providers you can go to, but may have better coverage. If I'm not mistaken, you can find individual dental plans out there that aren't terribly expensive, so it might be worth doing some research.

Just because your dentist dropped out, it does mean you can not use the plan there. Just that you will have higher out of pocket costs since he will no longer have to abide by their fee schedule. Unless of courses it was a DMO plan where you can ONLY go to a limited group of dentists. And all DMOs in my opinion are worse than no dental care at all. You'd be better off going to a Vet

601 My experience has been that dental insurance is only a good deal if your employer is subsidizing the premium. If you pay the entire premium, it is essentially a prepaid dental plan where the maximum payout is not much more than the premiums.

603 Here's something about postmarks. I get all my mail (what little I get) at my PO box. For an insurance update, I needed proof of physical address. The agent said rent receipt and just mail an envelope to myself. I go to the Post Office with an envelope, buy a stamp from the station postmaster and was telling him what it was for. He takes the envelope, breaks out a round rubber stamp and hands it back, saying there you go, postmarked and delivered. We learned how to make rubber stamps in eighth grade graphic arts.
