4 Good Morning Morons today is Sunday, October 18, 2020. On this day in 1945 the USSR's nuclear program received plans for the United States plutonium bomb from traitor Klaus Fuchs at the Los Alamos National Laboratory.

Posted by: Bruce at October 18, 2020 06:08 AM (lBt7s)

18 Mornin' again, folk,

Decided not to exercise early, as I do that several times a week, and there is nothing new to see. My plan: breakfast (a heated quarter of a club sandwich, if it matters), do a few of my usual Sunday chores, hit the grocery, and then around 8 drive up to the levee and walk half an hour there. True, I've seen that view more often than I like, but the air should still be fairly cool -- and it's something different.

For that matter I could cross the river, go to the Chalmette Battlefield site (I don't think they charge you just to go into the park), walk down to the levee, and work out there. I used to see that view a lot when I was a kid; my parents would take us to play there.

29 Our waitress last night at the cafe told us her mask story. She went into Walmart, to be accosted by the staffer at the door. She said, "I have a medical condition that prevents me wearing a mask." (She doesn't.)

Staffer blinks. "What kind of condition?"

Our waitress, I imagine, looked stern. "It's against the law for you to ask me that. Don't worry, though, I won't report you, since I guess you didn't know. Have a nice day." And she sailed on into the store sans face diaper.

I had vertigo troubles for a short time in late '18 and early '19. With that, it was easy to get my doctor to write and sign a letter stating the difficulty masks would give me. So far, most merchants have had no trouble with it -- but Best Buy, yesterday, told me while they'd let me in, they couldn't help me in the store, and I wouldn't be allowed to check out. I told them that was the stupidest thing I'd heard yet that day, and walked out.

Come to think of it, I should have said, "That's okay, I don't want to pay your prices anyhow," then gone over and examined the TVs and other gear. I don't want to buy online without seeing an example of how a size and brand of TV looks. I could have spent about 20 minutes making notes, annoying the hell out of them, and then walked out.

In fact, I might well do exactly that. Ha!

70 Sean Davis and Mollie Hemingway are merciless in treating Hayes, Goldbrick and French (of the so-called "Dispatch" web page) with the absolute contempt they've earned, for trying to somehow hide their defense of Sundown Joe's support of killing infants.

Since he has no defense, Goldbrick is reduced to posting his usual dog pictures plus, to fill space and time, other peoples dog pics. And, oh yeah, condemning Trump supporters for cheering on prosecutions against corrupt politicians.

The Dispatch score so far: "partial birth" abortion is A-OK, and jailing corrupt politicos is morally indefensible.

They said it was "corporate policy," which is probably their Newspeak for "The boss told us to do it." They are, of course, discriminating against people with health conditions. Their answer to that would be, "You can use our curbside service."

How can I purchase a TV online and take delivery curbside, without seeing it or a similar model? And how do I know it will fit into my car? I have a feeling a boxed-up 50" TV is not going to slide easily into the back seat of my Buick, big as it is. If it doesn't fit, will they deliver it?

These people don't want my business. So be it.

Senator Johnson's letter didn't accuse Wray of sitting on Junkie Hunter's laptop, instead the letter claims the laptop was subpoenaed by a Grand Jury. A prosecutor is therefore involved, implying the DOJ is sitting on the laptop.

I'm sorry you're dealing with that. My mom has gone hermit because her husband is seriously high risk in his 80s.

My dad is over all of this, and we think he survived the virus in late March. So we can visit, but we are spread all over the country and every sibling with children has school-aged children. Ditching farcebook means almost never knowing what is going on. 2016 also cured me of the delusion that people would get tired of posting political crap.

A rough winter is not what I want, which means it's likely to be exactly what I get.

92 I've got a contrarian take on the FBI and the laptop: They were doing what Trump wanted them to do.

Yes, crazy, but hear me out.

The evidence on it would have been useless during the impeachment farce. The Dems were always going to impeach Trump, and if it wasn't for RUSSIA or UKRAINE it was going to be for something else, and closer to the election.

There was zero gain to bringing out that laptop at the time.

Similarly, Biden would have likely been destroyed in the primary, giving the Dems a much more interesting (and dangerous) potential field.

With the Dem Establishment rallying behind Biden (remember how a bunch dropped out to stop Bernie?), what could be better insurance than having this thing, primed for an October Surprise.

Maybe the FBI is completely unaccountable and it was all happenstance. Rudy has been very vague on when he got the goods, which is fine.

I'm just completely out of outrage at this point regarding the FBI.

Yesterday we visited my mother so she could finally meet her great-grandaughter, who was born in June. We all had to wear masks the whole time.

Still, it was a good time, She was very happy to see the baby but she's clearly in the "mask everything forever" mode.

My father has gone full-on hermit and lets my stepmother do everything. We talk on the phone periodically and they used to visit us every month but that hasn't happened since COVID started. No idea when we'll actually see him again.

Unlike most people, my father thrives in isolation. He doesn't particularly like people and so he can read, do music lessons on Zoom and basically putter about to his heart's content. He's got a vast library as well.

Clinesmith was *not* low-level. He's at the center of everything. I know pessimism comes with the territory here, but him flipping was huge.

We also know that Durham is rolling things up because of the testimony on the 302s which entered into Flynn's case.

The problem is that people keep comparing Mueller's bullshit indictments (which collapsed) and process pleas (which were useless and for show) with actual criminal charges that will hold up in court.

That's very difficult, especially when so much evidence was destroyed.

One other aspect people are ignoring: crooked judges. If the cases had been brought a couple of years ago, odds of getting an honest judge were small. Now they're pretty good - multiple circuits have flipped.

And then there will be a 6-3 Supreme Court majority as a backstop.

I get the impatience, but time is actually on our side.

Lol, that's my dad working at the newspaper. He had the night shift, so on Christmas Day we had "dinner" at 2 p.m. so he could eat with us and then go to work.

I asked him why he never got the day off and it was seniority. The funny thing was that because papers have been dying for decades, he never gained any ground because the staff kept getting downsized.

He finally was able to enjoy the holidays when the union went on strike for a couple of years.

152 @16

As I said back in fucking February, if masks actually worked, then Asian countries would have lower incidences of viral infection of all kinds because no society has a higher mask utilization rate than Asian countries and cultures.

In fact, most emergent viral outbreaks come from Asia, China specifically.

Why?

Because when you have 1.5 billion people living on top of one another in relative squalor and you throw in living with animals and the fact they have animals that shouldn't live with one another, swine and foul, you have a potent viral generator.

And here's the kicker, this shit was accepted scientific fact until they realized they could weaponize masks.

And here we are 8 months later with this bullshit.

The good news is this scam and op will be ending in about three weeks.

154 Romney is showing his ass again.

The number of "elites" who are really, really wound up about Trump's association with, effectively, an anti-pedophilia "conspiracy theory" makes it seem more like a conspiracy fact.

Or, quoting a Twitter post I just saw mentioned on Insty, "Buzzfeed News thinks it's 'ominous and disturbing' that President Trump 'agrees very strongly' with being 'strongly against pedophilia'. Why are these journalists on the side of pedophilia? What are they hiding? #AJAB".

I don't think it is a coincidence that Oregon and Washington used to be swing states until they went totally postal and then became Dem satrapies.

Glad the California GOPers are learning to play the game at last. Maybe Trump can send instructors north.

WA and OR, like CA, are Motor Voter states.

Anyone who gets a new license automatically gets a voter registration card. They just fill out their name and address, and check a single box saying they are legal to vote.

Nobody has checked in the 25 years or so the law has been active. Nobody. I've seen with my own eyes Mexican and Guatemalan drivers who got WA licenses, and filled out the blue cards to get registered to vote.

The staff is ordered to do so, and not allowed to do anything else.

Fix this, many states go Red immediately.

156 "A prosecutor is therefore involved, implying the DOJ is sitting on the laptop" Posted by: Huck Follywood

it is all rather curious how the repairman tried to give it to the FBI (locally?), they didn't want it, then he gets the subpoena (how much later?). I forget exactly who issued the subpoena ... I was thinking it was a state ... whatever, they had to find out about it from the FBI.

Then several months later, the guy was clever enough to make a copy and deliver it to Rudy's lawyer? Good Move. Rudy was a prime mover in uncovering some of the Ukraine corruption, while Trump (iirc) still had that corrupt ambassador there, blocking things.

So much corruption, and so much inaction despite things going public. Now we need to throw some more declassified evidence on the fire, if Trump can get it away from Wray's and Haspel's dome of coverup. In this case of such urgency, defying presidential orders should be criminal obstruction (sedition?), not just a fireable offense.

160 That's what happened here. A lot of the new cases are school aged teens. Major freak out with school districts scrambling to go back to virtual from already odd systems of 2 days in person, 3 days virtual, or some other such insanity.

Posted by: My life is insanity at October 18, 2020 07:47 AM (Z/jzm)

That happened in Coeur d'Alene, too. Our schools are still all virtual. My nephew's school in AZ was back to being 100% in-person, but 3 kids got WuFlu and now they are back to 100% virtual, and are all supposed to do the 14 day quarantine.

161 145> I take a multi-vitamin that has Zinc, D, all the other crap too. We've got a D vitamin supplement around here somewhere, and a B supplement, and this that and the other thing too.

We made 4 stops Friday; Bank (2x), voted at the county clerk's office, grocery store and post office. After each stop it was hand sanitizer time. Masks at each stop too. So obviously if the bug wants you, you'll get the bug.

Posted by: Martini Farmer at October 18, 2020 07:56 AM (3H9h1)

162 I started heard a rumor that some major brands of toilet paper have been contaminated with the virus. And that evidence suggests that Covid-19 can enter the body through the butt-hole.

Apparently one can microwave their toilet paper on high for one minute just prior to use, or sanitize the entire roll by placing it in the oven at 475 degrees for 20 minutes.

And finally, rub hand sanitizer on your butt-hole after wiping, to ensure that all the germs have been killed.

Sounded kinda far fetched, but feel free to share with your very concerned friends, if you wish.

Well that's because, as we a have seen with Jeffrey Epstein, a very large percentage of elites are pedophiles and sexual deviants.

Which would make sense as the elites control many aspects of our world and what is the greatest power one can wield if not sexual control of people who cannot resist.

These people are satanic.

They need to be defeated, utterly.

169 @60 - "This is, after all, the United States of America."
Correction: This was the United States of America. It began to change decades ago when educators began teaching that that the bad policies of the past outweighed the ideals of the nations founding. It began to change when Congress outsourced the making of laws by establishing a massive bureaucracy. The change continued when administrations selectively decided not to enforce laws on the books such as immigration law and the Defense of Marriage act. Establishing policies with executive order ("a pen and a phone") as opposed to legislative process continued the march. Judiciary rulings establishing the idea that executive orders could not be overturned by subsequent executives move the change closer to conclusion.

We are now at a point where free speech is only allowed for some. Ideas counter to the progressive narrative are suppressed with violence which duly appointed law enforcement and elected local officials allow to occur. The attempted removal a nationally elected leader, freely elected by the people in accordance
with rules long established, shows we are near the end of the change.

This is not your father's USA nor is it the USA where I grew up. Sadly, I don't think that USA will return.

Long term use of omeprozol for heartburn can cause Vitamin D and B deficiency.

Several blood tests ago, we specifically looked for those levels, and found them both to be at or slightly below the normal range. So my Dr put me on simple supplements for them.

Next round of bloodwork 90 days later, everything was sitting right in the middle of the desired range.

And so far, no Wu-Flu, either.

Around here, the local MUD closed off a section of the green belt and trails because honey bees were spotted nearby. I was told the reasoning behind this is that each year a person in the State gets hospitalized over a bee sting.

No, point of fact, it has to end, too many aspects of the global economy and society are being affected and causing irreparable harm to many bottom lines.

This op began as a way for China to tamp down internal dissent, the globalists then glommed onto it to bring down OrangeManBad.

If OrangeMan Bad is defeated then their is no need to continue the op.

If OrangeMan Bad wins, then the op failed and again their is no reason to continue it, in fact Trump won't let it continue.

230 No, point of fact, it has to end, too many aspects of the global economy and society are being affected and causing irreparable harm to many bottom lines.

No. Point of fact - and this really is a fact - nothing ever, ever HAS to end. Shitty actions inspired by shitty ideas can, have, and will continue to go on. Sometimes for decades. Also point of fact - and too many governments as well as businesses both private and public have shown this for you to be unaware of it - the "bottom line" is no longer their first priority. They're quite willing to crash their own financial interests in the pursuit of perceived social justice.

And society ? Please. They've declared that society as it exists is unjust and must not continue as is. They certainly will not relent on masks out of some desire to save society.

No - masks do not HAVE to end. Masks can, and will, go on until sufficient power - raw, physical power - is mustered to end them. They won't stop because of something as relatively meaningless as economic or social harm. Because those currently in power just don't give a damn.

232 I never seem to be around for the book thread, so I'm recommending a book now: "Holy In The Moment": simple ways to love God and enjoy your life by Ginger Harrington-how intentional choices make holy habits. Very good, encouraging, uplifting and practical for the Christian life. Its said to be for women, but as long as they don't mind a book written by a woman I think men could benefit from reading it true, although there is certainly much good reading material out therefor Christian men as well

235 That's their whole, "why won't you wear a mask, denounce this group, say nice things"

Symbolism over Substance.

Notice, it is "denounce this group" never "use the police powers of the State to dismantle this group".

Its absolutely the most important thing, to denounce the Klan, but don't do anything to actually break them up or neuter them.

This "Denounce ____" crap is nothing more than the "SAY ____'s NAME!!" that the Antifa / BLM thugs demand before destroying your property.

I believe it has much to do with incrementalism. That is if I can compel you to denounce this or say that, or to wear a mask, then later I will return with a bigger demand, and then another, until you are my obedient unquestioning slave.

I do not believe even the most compliant population will put up with this state of tyranny on a permanent basis.

And I don't think the fascists are prepared to do that.

This was a very specific, very tailored op, with a very specific goal.

If Trump wins, Trump will end this bullshit.

If Trump loses, then there is no need to continue the op.

This does not mean the fascists will not try to trot this particular op out in the future it just means if cannot and will not be a permanent feature.

As they say, we shall see.

How does Motor Voter get fixed?
Posted by: clutch at October 18, 2020 08:09 AM (9UmRs)

Congress sets requirements for all Federal elections. Citizenship needs to be verified. And for new voters, citizenship must be proven instead of just letting anyone pass like now.

The easy way to clean the voter roles would be to match every voter with a birth certificate or naturalization court document. People know where they were born. Naturalized citizens remember well that day, and there is a federal court document that proves it.

All of this information is on line. A re-registration would be required, I would guess. Existing voters just tell which county they were born. Electronic verification.

Guessing over 99% could be easily done, and a one-time effort for the remaining under 1% wouldn't be difficult. For the few elderly that were born and didn't get a birth certificate, and there are a few, just let them vote. They are 80 or more.

If Trump wins - he can't and won't remove certain Governors who will otherwise keep these mandates indefinitely. And if Trump loses - no tyrant worth his epaulettes ever willingly gives up a tool of compliance. And our populace - by my day to day count - is the same as always. 1/3 for, 1/3 against, and 1/3 just waiting to do what they're told.

Yes - by Jan of next year, you will see. You'll see a bunch of masks that didn't go anywhere. Masks, like everything else, won't be another thing that conveniently work themselves out all on there own.

I expect certain governors to never give them up - and only relent when met by a veto-proof legislature. I expect certain companies to never - and I do mean never - take down the "mask to enter" signs. Some states will require the vaccine - and probably a flu shot. Others will make it optional.

Posted by: Gref at October 18, 2020 08:29 AM (AMIL/)

258 Maskapalooza isn't going away anytime soon. There are only two circumstances that I can see that would change that. One would be the approval of this mystery vaccine, followed by "encouraged" inoculations. That in turn could quite possibly be followed by some type of "proof of vaccination" identification which would be required for people to "return to normal" in public settings. The other (and infinitely more preferable) one would be where Americans finally say "I've had enough of this bullshit" and become vocal and adamant about bringing an end to this shitshow. If you think that my first scenario here is tin-foilish, that's fine. I'd just implore you to think about the surreal that's become the "new normal" in the past seven months. Okay, off of my soapbox and back to my padded cell.

Or at least through January. I can definitely see the mayor in DC dragging it out until then. They're required to wear masks while out in public now in DC. If Trump wins, I think they will find some way to say the inauguration won't be safe. And, the inaugural balls? Forget about it.
If Biden wins, he may not be able to handle the rigors of inauguration, so they might "allow" as scaled down version for him.

Not sure how they will handle the swearing in. Really can't be six feet away from someone for that.

And, then, of course, there's the March for Life on January 29. Will they find some way to not allow that, too?

ID only works if citizenship is checked once to clean up the voter rolls. And yes, purge them if they go unused for too long a time.

Many illegals have state driver licenses already. And this isn't just a theory.

In Colorado (another MV state) right after Trump was elected, a few thousand CO voters "de-registered". There was some threat locally that Trump was going to find non-citizens who voted and deport them. Nobody had ever seen anything like it. It caught my eye, and I read a few articles about it. It was in the news for a week or two, then poof.

Many illegals have attitudes and think they deserve to vote, because, reasons. Only US citizens can vote. Period.

The Spiritual Danger of Donald Trump
30 Evangelical Christians on Justice, Truth, and Moral Integrity

What should Christians think about Donald Trump? His policies, his style, his personal life? Thirty evangelical Christians wrestle with these tough questions. They are Republicans, Democrats, and Independents. They don't all agree, but they seek to let Christ be the lord of their political views. They seek to apply biblical standards to difficult debates about our current political situation.

Vast numbers of white evangelicals enthusiastically support Donald Trump. Do biblical standards on truth, justice, life, freedom, and personal integrity warrant or challenge that support? How does that support of President Trump affect the image of Christianity in the larger culture? Around the world?

Many younger evangelicals today are rejecting evangelical Christianity, even Christianity itself. To what extent is that because of widespread evangelical support for Donald Trump?

Don't listen to this audiobook to find support for your views. Listen to it to be challenged - with facts, reason, and biblical principles;

-
Meanwhile, vote for Biden and Pelosi and you're golden.

Only once. Must've been the wrong strain because I got very sick. Never got another, and never really had a serious case of the flu again...until last January. It was before we really knew about covid. I remember saying that next fall i will need to get a flu shot because i dont know if i could live through that again! Now I'm not so sure it was the flu.
Posted by: My life is insanity at October 18, 2020 08:39 AM

Last January I had what I thought was the flu. It came on me fast and hard. I went from normal to feeling like I'd been hit by a sledge hammer, late one evening. Mental fog also; the symptoms were coming fast and furious and I was just reeling from it all. Told a friend I'd either wake up sicker than I'd ever been, or dead. It felt like flu X 10. The next morning I went to the emerg clinic. They said it sounded like the flu (the was pre-covid, January 2) and gave me a z-pack and an inhaler. It took 4-5 days until I felt normal but like you, I believe there's a strong possibility it was covid.

Spoke with a doc friend a few days later and described the sudden onset symptoms. He told me he had little doubt I'd experienced a cytokine storm and was lucky I'd survived it.

Papa Joe?

You mean the "big guy", right? That is what Hunter and other family and friends called him in the texts from Rudy - source was the computer repair guy - and also Peter Schweitzer - source was Hunter Biden's biz partner, whom he screwed years ago, and the guy kept a copy of the emails - oops!

Once Chinese deal that Hunter put together specifically paid a 10% share to "the big guy".

Think about that, a former VP and now Presidential candidate, getting a secret business deal funded by the Chinese Communist Party.

Biden needs to resign now. And he needs to go to jail with Hunter and others.

Oh, and the FBI had the hard drive that had these emails for A YEAR and did nothing about it.

What Bannon tells us is stunning. I saw his show on Newsmax on Friday when this broke, and how he is talking about it is more detailed now. He has a chance to think about what is important and what is related. He shows us exactly where The Big Guy has lied and broken the law. Now, other people in the emails are coming out and saying all of this stuff happened. Biden's campaign has not refuted any of these emails. Biden's lawyer called and asked for the hard drive back, verifying the hard drive was Hunter's.

Bannon has excellent analytical ability.

If Wray would have made public the details of the hard drive that is now going public when they first received it from the computer repair shop, then according to Steve Bannon:

- Bernie Sanders would be the Democrat candidate right now, and

So yeah, Wray had better have a good reason he withheld this information from Senator Ron Johnson's investigative committee.
